Tripura Board tutors in Agartala: Madhyamik in Class X, Higher Secondary in Class XII

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education, TBSE for short, sets two examinations that shape a student's school years: the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) at the end of Class X and the Higher Secondary (+2 Stage) Examination at the end of Class XII. A tutor who prepares a child for either should work from the board's own syllabus, blueprints and model papers, not from material written for another board. NXTutors matches Agartala families with two or three tutors who know the TBSE course for your child's class and subjects and can reach your locality. You see each fee before meeting anyone, and the first class is a free demo.

What is TBSE, and where does it publish what you need?

TBSE was set up under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education Act, 1973, passed by the state legislative assembly, and it began functioning on 1 January 1976 after framing its rules, curricula and syllabi. Its office is in Agartala. For a parent, three websites matter:

  • tbse.tripura.gov.in carries the syllabus for each class, model question papers, the academic calendar and every notice.
  • tbresults.tripura.gov.in, linked from the board's home page, is where Madhyamik and H.S. results are published.
  • tbseonline.tripura.gov.in is the portal schools use for online registration and exam forms; families deal with it through the school.

The calendar notes that any change to its schedule is announced in local newspapers, so keep an eye on the board's notices as well as the school's.

What does the board's 2026-27 calendar ask of students?

Exam forms for Madhyamik (7M) and H.S. (7H) 2027Students, in school4 to 25 January 2027The form is filled in school with the guardian's written consent

The calendar also states that external candidates must pass the board's pre-board examination before they can sit the 2027 Madhyamik or H.S. examination. Theory exam dates are not part of this calendar; wait for the board's own notice rather than relying on dates passed around informally.

Which syllabus applies this year, and how should a tutor use it?

On 18 August 2026 the board notified that the 2025-26 syllabi for Classes IX, X, XI and XII stay in force for 2026-27. The subject files on its syllabus page do more than list chapters. The Class X science file, for example, carries separate blueprints for the half-yearly exam and for the pre-board and board final exam, showing how many questions of each mark value come from each chapter. The Class X maths file includes a Bengali version alongside the English, and the Class XII chemistry file is printed in Bengali.

A tutor should use these documents in three ways: to plan the year by unit marks, to build practice papers to the blueprint, and to revise from the board's model question papers. Ask to see the current file at the demo.

English80 + 20Reading 20, writing and grammar 20, literature 40Planned literature answers; letter and paragraph formats

The Class X syllabus page also lists Bengali, Hindi, Kokborok, Mizo and social science, and vocational subjects such as IT-ITeS, retail, automotive, electronics and hardware, tourism and hospitality, and agriculture, offered in the schools the board lists for 2026-27. Subject-by-subject detail is on our Agartala maths, science and English pages.

Basic or Standard maths in the Madhyamik exam

TBSE Class X maths comes at two levels, and the Standard syllabus includes portions that Basic omits. The choice matters most for a child who may take maths in Class XI. The board also publishes a form for a candidate who has passed Math (Basic) in the Madhyamik examination to apply, through the head of the school, to appear in Math (Standard). It is better to settle the level in Class IX, with advice from the school and a tutor who has seen a term of your child's work, than to rely on a later exam.

The Higher Secondary (+2 Stage) years

The board's syllabus list covers physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and computer science; accountancy, business studies and economics; history, geography, philosophy, sociology, education and music; and languages including Bengali, English, Hindi, Kokborok, Mizo and Sanskrit, with vocational subjects in listed schools. The combinations a school offers decide what your child can take, so start there.

Class XII marking in three TBSE subjects, from the board's syllabus documents
SubjectTheoryPractical or internal
Physics70, a three-hour paper30 practical
Chemistry7030 practical
Mathematics8020 internal assessment

Students aiming at engineering or medicine prepare for JEE or NEET alongside the H.S. course. The board paper still needs full written answers and a complete practical record, so a tutor should give board writing its own weekly block. See physics and chemistry home tutors in Agartala, and our guide on choosing a board and stream.

After the results: second chances and checks

The board's notices show several routes after the main results. It holds a Bachhar Bachao examination for Madhyamik and H.S. (+2 Stage) candidates, with its own application form, admit cards and results. It also accepts applications for self-inspection of evaluated answer scripts and for review of results. Eligibility, fees and deadlines are set in each notice, so read the current one on the board's website. A tutor can help a student preparing for the Bachhar Bachao examination focus on the subjects concerned in the time available.

Tripura Board Home Tutor in Agartala (TBSE): common questions

How does an Agartala family find a Tripura board home tutor through NXTutors?

An Agartala family finds a Tripura board home tutor by sending the class, subjects, answer-script language, locality with a landmark and suitable days. We shortlist two or three matched TBSE tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching later is free if the fit is wrong.

For Madhyamik or Higher Secondary coaching at an Agartala home, what does an hour cost?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every TBSE tutor in Agartala sets a fee, and you see each one before booking the demo.

Which TBSE syllabus are Agartala students following in 2026-27?

Agartala students are following the 2025-26 TBSE syllabi in 2026-27, after the board notified on 18 August 2026 that those syllabi for Classes IX to XII stay in force. The subject files, with blueprints and some Bengali versions, are on tbse.tripura.gov.in, and a tutor should work from them.

How are Madhyamik maths, science and English marked for Agartala students?

For Agartala students, Madhyamik maths, science and English each have an 80-mark written paper and 20 internal marks. Science splits into biology 30, physics 25 and chemistry 25; English into reading 20, writing and grammar 20 and literature 40. Maths is offered at Basic and Standard levels.

Can an Agartala student move from Basic to Standard maths after Madhyamik?

An Agartala student who passed Math (Basic) in the Madhyamik examination can apply through the school head to appear in Math (Standard), using a form the board publishes. That means a further exam, so it is simpler to choose the level carefully in Class IX with the school and a tutor.

When do TBSE Higher Secondary practical exams fall for Agartala students?

The board's 2026-27 calendar places Agartala students' Higher Secondary (+2 Stage) practicals, and Madhyamik vocational practicals, between 17 November and 5 December 2026. Physics and chemistry each give 30 marks to practical work, so the record should be complete and checked well before then.

What is the TBSE Bachhar Bachao examination for Agartala candidates?

The Bachhar Bachao examination is one the Tripura board holds for Madhyamik and Higher Secondary candidates, Agartala's included, after the main results. It has its own form, admit cards and results. The board also accepts requests for self-inspection of answer scripts and review of results; check each current notice.

Which TBSE websites should Agartala parents keep track of?

Agartala parents should track three TBSE websites, each with a different job. tbse.tripura.gov.in carries syllabi, model papers, the calendar and notices, and tbresults.tripura.gov.in publishes Madhyamik and Higher Secondary results. Schools use tbseonline.tripura.gov.in for registration and exam forms, and calendar changes also appear in local newspapers.

What should a TBSE tutor focus on from Class IX to Class XII in Agartala?

A TBSE tutor in Agartala should secure algebra, geometry and science basics in Class IX and settle the maths level. Class X needs blueprint-based practice, with half-yearly and pre-board papers treated as rehearsals. Class XI covers the step up in chosen subjects, and Class XII model papers, practical records and written answers.

When should a Tripura board student in Agartala use online tutoring?

A Tripura board student in Agartala should use online tutoring when the right subject specialist lives across the city, or during Diwali fair days in Indranagar and other crowded periods. Home visits suit regular written practice. A tutor from your own municipal zone is usually easiest to keep on a fixed slot.
