Maths tutor jobs in Raipur

Raipur has no metro, so a maths tutor's working week is drawn by two-wheeler routes: Vidhan Sabha Road out to Mowa and Saddu, the Ring Road and Dhamtari Road through the south, the station roads around Raipur Junction, and the national highway past Tatibandh. Those routes decide how many students you can teach in an evening far more than any timetable. Get them right and maths tuition here can be steady, well-paced work across one or two zones, with online students filling the gaps.

This page is for maths teachers deciding whether Raipur suits them. It covers the boards and classes that ask for maths, the kind of help families want at each stage, how to choose localities across the four zones, and what usually wins the free demo. NXTutors does not advertise posts; a family describes the class, board, colony and timing, and we send two or three tutors, nearest first. You set your own classes, localities, mode and fee.

Who asks for maths tutors in Raipur

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, known in Hindi as Chhattisgarh Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal, is headquartered in Raipur and conducts the High School examination in Class 10 and the Higher Secondary examination in Class 12. The board names cgbse.nic.in as its only official website, so take model papers, notices and patterns from there. Many CGBSE students speak Chhattisgarhi or Hindi at home, and a maths tutor who can explain a proof or a word problem in Hindi before writing it in the paper's language is often the one a family keeps.

CBSE families form the other large group. Their maths follows NCERT, with board questions close to its examples and exercises plus case-based items, and Class 10 students choose Standard or Basic mathematics. Some Raipur students also have JEE in view, so families want a tutor who builds concepts and full written board answers together. If a student attends a coaching batch, your job is usually to clear doubts from coaching sheets and rebuild the weakest chapters without repeating the batch.

The city notes point out that maths gets noticeably harder in Class 9, the same year many students join a batch, and that entrance foundation courses can wait until Class 8 maths is truly in place. That gives Raipur maths tuition a clear shape: Classes 5 to 8 for arithmetic, fractions and early algebra; Classes 9 and 10 for proofs, coordinate geometry and the board paper; Classes 11 and 12 for calculus, vectors and probability. ICSE and ISC students bring longer written solutions, and IB or IGCSE maths students are fewer and often learn online.

Where in Raipur the work is

Central Raipur, around Raipur Junction, is compact: Samta Colony, Gudhiyari, Devendra Nagar, Pandri and Fafadih can be reached with a short auto ride from the station, though station roads and Pandri's markets fill up in the evening. East Raipur is wide. Shankar Nagar, Avanti Vihar and Telibandha suit tutors coming from the centre by the expressway from Fafadih, while Mowa, Daldal Seoni and Saddu suit tutors along Vidhan Sabha Road. Note that Avanti Vihar off VIP Road is not Avani Vihar near Mowa.

South Raipur follows the Ring Road and Dhamtari Road through New Rajendra Nagar, Pachpedi Naka, Amlidih, Mahaveer Nagar, Bhatagaon and Kamal Vihar, where sector and plot numbers make homes easy to find, but Pachpedi Naka is slow at office hours. West Raipur, on the Bhilai side, covers Kota, Tatibandh, Sarona and Kabir Nagar, with Sarona and Saraswati Nagar stations nearby. Heavy vehicles on NH-53 mean listing localities on your own side. Senior maths, especially calculus revision, travels well online.

What families in Raipur expect

  • Sound knowledge of CGBSE High School and Higher Secondary maths, CBSE NCERT maths, or ICSE and ISC.
  • Explanations in Hindi when needed, with the paper's own terms in English or Hindi.
  • Written working laid out the way board examiners award step marks.
  • A plan that supports a coaching batch instead of copying it, for JEE-minded students.
  • Patience with Class 5 to 8 foundations before pushing entrance-style problems.
  • Regular tests from the school's books and official papers, with feedback a parent can follow.
  • A weekly slot that fits around school, coaching and evening traffic.

How to get picked

Raipur parents read profiles for board, class and medium first. Write them in one line, for example "CGBSE and CBSE maths, Classes 8 to 12, Hindi or English, home visits in Shankar Nagar, Avanti Vihar and Telibandha". Then add what you are strongest at: rebuilding foundations, Class 10 board revision, or Class 11 and 12 calculus. If you teach online, say so, because students in other parts of Chhattisgarh and India can then find you.

At the free demo, ask the student which chapter worries them and solve one problem from it together, slowly, showing every step. Then set a similar problem and watch where they hesitate. That moment tells you and the parent where the work begins. Finish by outlining the first month in plain terms. The fee is already on your profile; for payment details, see how you get paid on the tutor terms page.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Where do I find CGBSE maths papers and notices?

Only on cgbse.nic.in, which the board names as its sole official website. For CBSE, use cbseacademic.nic.in, and for ICSE and ISC, cisce.org.

Do Raipur maths students need Hindi explanations?

Many do. Plenty of children speak Chhattisgarhi or Hindi at home and study in English at school, while some CGBSE students write in Hindi. Mention your teaching medium on your profile.

Should I teach JEE problems to Class 8 or 9 students?

Usually not first. The city notes suggest entrance foundation work can wait until Class 8 maths is truly in place. Build solid basics, then add harder problems once the student is ready.

Which Raipur zone suits a maths tutor without a car?

Central Raipur is compact and close to Raipur Junction, and West Raipur has Sarona and Saraswati Nagar stations. Elsewhere a two-wheeler or auto is the usual way, since the city has no metro.

Can I combine home maths students and online students?

Yes. Many tutors keep home lessons within one zone and teach seniors or students in other cities online. A shared whiteboard works well for calculus and geometry.

What if a student attends coaching and school tests are slipping?

That is a common request. Ask for the coaching sheets and school test papers, find the chapters causing lost marks, and focus on clear written board answers so school results recover.
