Laitumkhrah is one of six pages in the Laitumkhrah & Rynjah zone of Shillong. Madanrting, Malki, Nongthymmai and Rynjah are listed alongside it in the glance table, and Umpling completes the zone. A tutor who visits one of those pages may be glad to add a Laitumkhrah home, so a little time spent reading their profiles can widen your choice.
What should you look for in a tutor? Start with fit rather than credentials alone. Ask how the tutor would explain a topic your child has struggled with, and listen for whether they use examples, diagrams or questions. A tutor who simply reads the textbook aloud adds little to what school already offers, while one who makes your child think out loud can change the way a subject feels.
Be clear, too, about the rhythm you want. Some families want regular sessions through the year; others want intensive help for a few months before board exams. If your child is in Class 9 or Class 10, ask how the tutor would split time between finishing the syllabus and practising past papers. If English or maths is the worry, say so plainly in the request. Mention the textbook too.
