Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Coimbatore
Before you teach a single sum in Coimbatore, find out which paper the child writes. Tamil Nadu State Board students sit the SSLC after Class 10 and the Higher Secondary examination at the end of Class 12, both conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, and the papers come in Tamil and English versions. A maths tutor who explains a theorem in English to a child who will answer in Tamil has already lost half the lesson. CBSE, ICSE and ISC students across the city want their own board's style just as firmly.
No open maths requests in Coimbatore right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
This page is for maths teachers, engineers and graduates who want home or online maths tuition in Coimbatore. Joining NXTutors is free: you pick the classes, the boards, the paper version you teach, the zones you will travel to and your fee. The list of real open requests sits on this page, and we never estimate how many families will ask.
The city guide is direct about where help is needed most: in the higher secondary years, physics and maths are the subjects science students most often struggle with. Class 11 and 12 maths requests come from State Board students working from the state textbooks, CBSE students building on NCERT with the board's sample papers and marking schemes, and ISC students who must write complete, well-set-out solutions. Calculus, vectors and three-dimensional geometry, matrices and probability are the usual pressure points, and parents look for a specialist rather than an all-subject tutor at this stage.
Class 9 and 10 make up the second large group. SSLC students need the state syllabus covered in step with school term tests and revision built around the timetable the board publishes; CBSE Class 10 students need practice with case-based and competency questions; ICSE students need long, clean written working. Families often begin the search when a Class 9 student's algebra marks drop, because the board year builds on it directly.
Younger students, Classes 1 to 8, form a steady stream of their own. The city guide's advice for these years, reading with understanding, quick number sense, fractions and early algebra, and neat written work, describes what these parents ask for. One or two home visits a week, with the tutor beside the child, usually does more than long sessions. A smaller group of senior students preparing for JEE alongside the board want a tutor who can link the state or ISC syllabus to NCERT content.
Coimbatore has no metro, so maths tutors move by town bus, two-wheeler and local train, and the main roads set the rhythm. In the centre, RS Puram, Race Course & Gandhipuram is the easiest zone without a vehicle: buses from the Gandhipuram terminus reach the whole city, Tatabad's numbered streets make houses easy to find, and Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junction are close. In the north, Saravanampatti, Ganapathy & Thudiyalur follows Sathy Road, which is heaviest when offices open and close, while MEMU trains reach Thudiyalur station from the city.
Peelamedu, Kalapatti & Avinashi Road is easier than it was since the elevated expressway opened above Avinashi Road in October 2025, but office traffic still peaks morning and early evening. Ramanathapuram, Singanallur & Trichy Road suits tutors who already live on that side of Trichy Road, and Podanur, Kuniyamuthur & Vadavalli is mostly independent houses where you park at the gate, with Kovaipudur and Vadavalli at the city's edge better served by local tutors plus online lessons.
A Coimbatore parent reading your profile wants three answers quickly: which board, which classes, which version of the paper. Write them plainly, for example "State Board Class 9–12 maths, Tamil and English versions; CBSE Class 11–12 calculus; online for JEE Main maths doubts". Add the zones you can reach, how you travel, and the afternoons or weekend mornings you keep free; weekend mornings matter in the north, where many families have both parents working office hours.
In the free demo, work on the chapter the school is teaching that week. Ask the student to solve two short questions first, watch where the method slips, then teach to that gap and let them write most of the solutions. End by telling the parent what you found and how the next month will go. Families see your fee before the demo and can switch tutors later at no cost, so a student whose term-test marks rise is how a maths tuition lasts. See how you get paid lower on this page.

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Not for every family. State Board papers come in Tamil and English versions, and parents tell us which one their child writes. List the version you can teach so the match is right.

Yes, especially in the central zone, where town buses from Gandhipuram and trains through Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junction help. Outer areas like Kovaipudur and Kalapatti are easier with a two-wheeler.
CBSE's session begins in April and State Board schools follow the calendar the state announces each year, so many requests come in the opening weeks. Others arrive before term tests and board papers.
