Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Coimbatore
A science tutor in Coimbatore's middle-school years is really three teachers in one: a little physics, a little chemistry, a little biology, held together so that a Class 10 student walks into the SSLC, CBSE or ICSE paper with all three strands secure. Families with children from Class 6 to Class 10 usually want exactly that, one person at the table who keeps the whole subject moving and connects it to the school's term tests. Specialists come later, in the higher secondary years.
No open science requests in Coimbatore right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
If you teach science, NXTutors lets you join free and decide the classes, boards and paper version you take, whether you teach at home or online, the Coimbatore zones you reach and your fee. The live list on this page shows real open requests. We do not publish or estimate request numbers, and nothing here promises students.
Most science requests begin around Class 8 or 9, when the subject stops being descriptive and starts asking for reasoning: motion and force with numericals, atoms and chemical equations, cells and tissues, then electricity, light and life processes on the way to Class 10. Parents notice the change when marks fall in a term test, and they want a tutor who can rebuild understanding before the board year.
Board shapes the lesson. Tamil Nadu State Board students sit the SSLC after Class 10, conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, whose sample question papers show the pattern; they learn from the state textbooks and write either the Tamil or the English version of the paper. CBSE students work outward from NCERT, with sample papers and marking schemes on the CBSE academic site. ICSE students write separate physics, chemistry and biology papers with fuller answers. A Class 8 State Board student and a Class 10 ICSE candidate need different approaches, and Coimbatore families match on class and board together.
Classes 6 and 7 bring a quieter demand from parents who want curiosity kept alive and habits formed: reading the chapter properly, drawing labelled diagrams, explaining an experiment in their own words. One or two visits a week near home is the usual pattern.
Science lessons for middle-school children often start soon after school, which in Coimbatore is a useful window. In RS Puram, Race Course & Gandhipuram, a class soon after school avoids the evening shopping crowd on RS Puram's main streets, and buses from the Gandhipuram terminus bring tutors from across the city. Saibaba Colony, mostly independent houses with its own bus terminus, is a short ride from Gandhipuram. In Ramanathapuram, Singanallur & Trichy Road, smaller apartment buildings in Sowripalayam have a watchman who should know your class days.
The north and east are more spread out. Saravanampatti's gated complexes use visitor apps or gate lists, so ask to be added once chosen; Ganapathy's dense streets need a landmark. Kalapatti's layouts are spread out with streets that are not widely known, so a map pin before the first class saves time. In Podanur, Kuniyamuthur & Vadavalli, independent houses let you park at the gate; in a big area such as Kurichi, ask for the street name and a landmark.
On your profile, list the classes and boards you teach science for, the paper version, and which strand you enjoy most. Parents warm to a tutor who is honest that chemistry is their strength while showing they can teach a circuit or a cell just as clearly. Name the zones you reach, how you travel, and your free afternoons. A line about how you check understanding, perhaps asking the child to teach a concept back each week, helps a parent picture your lessons.
In the free demo, ask the student to explain one idea from this week's chapter in their own words. You will see the gaps straight away. Teach one point, solve one numerical or draw one diagram together, and finish with a short plan for the next month. Families see your fee before booking and can switch later at no cost, so what keeps a science student is steady improvement in school tests. See how you get paid below.
Mind the two calendars. CBSE's session begins in April, while State Board schools follow the academic calendar the state announces each year, so science requests for a fresh start arrive at more than one point. The opening weeks, with new books, are the easiest time to repair gaps from the previous class.

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Up to Class 10, usually one tutor for physics, chemistry and biology together. From Class 11, families prefer specialists, which have their own pages.
