Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Indore
Middle-school science is where many Indore families first look for outside help. Up to Class 6 or 7 a parent can usually keep pace with the homework; by Class 8 the chapters on force, chemical reactions, cells and electricity start to outrun the kitchen-table explanation, and by Class 9 the subject has effectively split into physics, chemistry and biology inside one book. A science tutor who can teach all three strands to one child, at the level of that child's board, is the person these families want.

This page is for tutors deciding whether to take science requests in Indore. It explains which boards and classes ask, how MP Board medium changes the work, which zones these homes sit in and how a tutor gets there, and what to do in the free demo that NXTutors arranges before regular lessons. The matching itself is simple: a parent sends class, board, medium, locality and hours, and we suggest two or three tutors whose profiles fit.
Classes 6 to 8 form the first wave. Here a parent mainly wants understanding and habits: neat labelled diagrams, short answers in the student's own words, and an early comfort with simple numericals such as speed or density. Many of these families also want the same tutor to look after maths, so mention it if you teach both. The second wave is Classes 9 and 10, where the board year raises the stakes. Indore's city guide notes that maths and science jump in difficulty in Class 9 and that Class 10 builds directly on it, so a student weak in Class 9 motion or atomic structure tends to struggle again with electricity or chemical equations a year later.
Board decides method. For CBSE, start from NCERT, then the sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in, because papers now include case-based passages and assertion and reason items that reward application. ICSE science is taught as separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers with long organised answers, so a CISCE student needs breadth and timed writing practice. MP Board students sit the Class 10 board exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh, and many study in Hindi medium. A tutor who knows the board's prescribed science book and can move between Hindi and English terms, for example for reflection, acids or photosynthesis, is often exactly what the request asks for.
A few science requests come from Cambridge IGCSE families, where coordinated or separate sciences and the right tier matter. They are fewer in Indore, so treat them as online work across the city rather than a reason to choose a zone.
Science requests follow families with school-age children, which in Indore means almost every residential pocket. On the Ring Road side, the gated towers of Mahalaxmi Nagar and Nipania register a tutor once at the gate, while the plotted streets of Scheme 94, Scheme 140 and Pipliyahana are doorstep visits. These sit in the Nipania, Bicholi & Ring Road zone, where a metro rider can reach Malviya Nagar Chauraha and take an auto, and where Bicholi Mardana has fewer tutors living close by. In Vijay Nagar & AB Road, the IDA schemes and Sukhliya's colonies are mostly houses on sector roads, with Yellow Line stations close by, and an early evening slot avoids the shopping-hour crowd around Vijay Nagar's squares.
Palasia & Central Indore covers older family homes in Manorama Ganj, Saket Nagar and Tilak Nagar as well as Geeta Bhawan's housing societies; here students may already attend a coaching class nearby, so ask for that timetable. In Bhawarkua, Rajendra Nagar & Rau, Sudama Nagar and Rajendra Nagar are largely houses, Rau and Silicon City have newer gated projects, and AB Road traffic builds at school closing time. A science tutor from Rajendra Nagar or Bijalpur can usually cover that whole belt.
A science profile is read for range, so be exact: 'Science, Classes 6 to 10, CBSE and MP Board, English and Hindi medium; also maths to Class 8.' Say whether you take ICSE Physics, Chemistry and Biology as separate subjects. List the zones you can reach after school hours, and add online so that a student in Silicon City or on the Super Corridor can still book you.
In the demo, choose a chapter the student is doing that week and teach one idea through a picture or a quick hands-on example: a spoon as a mirror, a balanced equation drawn with coloured dots, a torch circuit sketched on paper. Then ask the student to explain it back and write a short board-style answer. Show the parent the answer with your corrections, and outline what the next few weeks will cover against the school calendar. A tutor who makes a child explain, rather than copy, is the one families keep.
Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.
Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Up to Class 10, usually yes. Physics, chemistry and biology sit in one subject for CBSE and MP Board, so families prefer one tutor for all three. ICSE students take them as separate papers but often still want one tutor.
Yes. Many MP Board students study in Hindi, and their families often want a tutor who can teach the board's Hindi terms and also explain them in English. Put your medium on your profile.
Classes 8 to 10 mostly, as the subject gets harder and the Class 10 board approaches. Classes 6 and 7 come next, often combined with maths for the same child.
Yes. Switch on online on your profile. It suits students in newer areas such as the Super Corridor townships or Silicon City where fewer tutors live, and works well for revision and doubt sessions.
Something simple that shows an idea, a notebook for a short written answer, and familiarity with the student's textbook for their board and medium. Ask the family for the current chapter beforehand.
