Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Lucknow
A primary tutor in Lucknow is rarely hired for one subject. A parent of a Class 2 or Class 4 child usually wants someone who can sit at the same table three or four afternoons a week, help with homework in every subject, and quietly fix the things school has moved past: reading with understanding, quick number facts, neat handwriting and the habit of finishing work.
No open primary (class 1–5) requests in Lucknow right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
That makes primary tuition one of the most local kinds of work in the city. You teach close to home, often on foot or a short ride, for families who value reliability over a long list of qualifications. This page explains what Lucknow families with young children ask for, which zones suit a primary tutor, and how to be chosen after the free demo. Live requests are shown further down.
Most requests cover Classes 1 to 5, with some for Classes 6 to 8 under the same all-subjects arrangement. The aim in these years is sound foundations: reading fluently and understanding what is read, number sense and times tables, early fractions and decimals, and written work that is complete and tidy. One tutor taking all subjects is the norm, and the same tutor often stays with a child for several years.
Language is part of the brief. Families in English-medium CBSE and ICSE schools want strong English reading and writing from the start, while families in Hindi-medium or UP Board schools may want the tutor to explain in Hindi and build English gradually. Many Lucknow parents also ask for help with Hindi itself, including handwriting in Devanagari, so a tutor comfortable in both scripts covers more requests.
The rhythm is regular and frequent. Primary families tend to want three to five short sessions a week in the late afternoon, after school and before dinner, rather than one long class. That makes distance the deciding factor more than for any other kind of tuition.
Because sessions are short and frequent, primary tutors do well staying within their own part of the city. Indira Nagar, in Gomti Nagar, Indira Nagar & Chinhat, is one of the largest planned colonies in Lucknow, mostly houses and builder floors on plotted lanes around the Bhootnath and Lekhraj markets, so there are many families within a short walk. Aliganj and Vikas Nagar, in Mahanagar, Aliganj & Jankipuram, are similar: lettered and numbered sectors of independent houses where the tutor simply rings the bell.
In Alambagh, Ashiyana & Rajajipuram, Rajajipuram's blocks A to F and LDA Colony's lettered sectors are plotted and easy to find. Gated towers in Gomti Nagar Extension and Sushant Golf City, Vrindavan Yojana & Telibagh register visitors and often issue a pass for a regular tutor, which matters when you visit four times a week. Primary lessons rarely work online for the youngest children, so set home zones you can reach in a few minutes.
Parents of young children choose on trust and convenience. On your profile, say you teach Classes 1 to 5 in all subjects, name the languages you teach in, and list only the khands, sectors or blocks you can reach quickly. Give the exact afternoon hours you are free. If you have taught young children before, in a school or at home, describe how you handle a child who will not settle.
Make the demo friendly and short. Ask the child to read a page aloud and do a few sums, then teach one small thing, perhaps a times table trick or a reading strategy, and praise what the child does well. Tell the parent what you noticed and what the first month would focus on. A primary family wants to see that their child liked you; everything else follows.

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Usually, yes. For Classes 1 to 5, one tutor helping with homework and foundations across subjects is the common arrangement, often three to five short sessions a week.
Often helpful. Many families want help with Hindi as a subject, including Devanagari handwriting, and children in Hindi-medium schools may need explanations in Hindi. Note on your profile which languages you teach in.
Your own neighbourhood. Plotted colonies such as Indira Nagar, Aliganj, Vikas Nagar, Rajajipuram and LDA Colony have many families within a short walk or ride, which matters when you teach several times a week.
For older primary children, sometimes, but most families with young children prefer a tutor at the table. If you are happy to teach online, switch it on, but expect most primary requests to be for home lessons.
All of them appear: CBSE and ICSE schools, UP Board schools and a few international ones. At primary level the board matters less than the medium of teaching and the school's own workbooks, so ask the parent at the demo which books the child uses and follow them, rather than bringing a separate syllabus.
Townships in Gomti Nagar Extension and Sushant Golf City register visitors, and many issue a standing pass for a regular tutor. Ask the family to arrange this in the first week so daily visits start smoothly.
