Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Tiruchirappalli
SSLC maths, Higher Secondary maths, CBSE Class 10 Standard or Basic, ICSE with its commercial chapters: a maths tutor in Tiruchirappalli may teach all four kinds of student in a single week. The Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE and CISCE's ICSE and ISC all have families here, and each sets its papers its own way. The tutors who settle in fastest are the ones who decide which of these they teach and say so clearly.

Language is the second decision. State Board students may study in Tamil or English medium, and a Class 10 student who reads algebra in Tamil wants a tutor who can explain it in Tamil and then help them write the answer the way the paper expects. Put your medium on your profile next to your boards.
The State Board's SSLC (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations are conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, which runs one of its seven regional offices in Tiruchirappalli. Maths tutors for these students teach from the state textbooks in the student's medium and drill the exercise patterns the board's papers draw on. The Directorate's site, dge.tn.gov.in, lists the March and June sessions and special supplementary examinations for students who need them; take patterns and dates only from there. Supplementary candidates are a real request: a student who must clear maths again needs a focused, chapter-by-chapter plan rather than a full course.
CBSE students in Trichy follow NCERT and the sample papers on cbseacademic.nic.in. At Class 10, real numbers, polynomials, pairs of linear equations, quadratics, arithmetic progressions, similar triangles, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, circles, areas and volumes, statistics and probability all appear, and the board's case-based questions catch students who have only practised routine exercises. Higher Secondary and CBSE Class 11 and 12 students bring calculus, matrices and determinants, vectors and three-dimensional geometry, and probability, often with a parent who wants the board marks secured first.
ICSE and ISC students are fewer and want long, tidy working, with ICSE Class 10 adding commercial topics such as GST, banking and shares and dividends. A few IB and Cambridge IGCSE learners in the city usually study online with a specialist; a tutor who teaches IB Maths AA or AI, or IGCSE Extended, can reach them that way. Keep the course you list to the course you can teach.
NXTutors groups Trichy into five zones: Srirangam & North Bank, Thillai Nagar, Woraiyur & Tennur, KK Nagar & Madurai Road, Golden Rock & Palakkarai, and Thiruverumbur & Thanjavur Road. Srirangam and Thiruvanaikaval share an island between the Kaveri and the Kollidam, so a maths tutor living there can hold weekly slots without a river crossing, while a mainland tutor should allow for the evening crossing. Thillai Nagar, Woraiyur and Tennur sit close together, so three lessons in one evening are realistic if you keep to residential side streets.
KK Nagar & Madurai Road is the widest zone, with five neighbourhoods; choose the part you can reach rather than listing all of it, and ask for a map pin in KK Nagar's layouts. Railway colonies in Golden Rock sit behind entrances where you may be asked whom you are visiting, and staff quarters along the Thanjavur road may ask you to register. Shift changes at the industrial units shape highway traffic, so evenings after the change and weekend mornings suit regular maths sessions. Tutors without a vehicle can use the Junction, Fort, Town, Srirangam and Thiruverumbur stations and the central bus stations.
Make your profile easy to match. Name your boards and classes, for example State Board Classes 9 to 12 in Tamil and English medium, or CBSE Class 10 Standard and Basic; list the Trichy neighbourhoods you can actually reach; and tick online if you will teach students across the river or elsewhere in India. One sentence on your approach, such as how you rebuild algebra for a student who failed a test, helps a parent picture the lesson.
At the free demo, use the student's own textbook and last test paper. Work two of the questions the student lost marks on, then give a similar question to try alone and talk through the result with the parent. A family sees two or three closest fits with fees shown, and a demo that shows quick, honest diagnosis is what decides. To understand payouts, see how you get paid on the tutor terms page.

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Yes. Many State Board students study in Tamil medium, and families look for a tutor who explains in Tamil using the textbook's terms. List Tamil, English or both as your teaching medium so parents can judge the fit.
The Directorate of Government Examinations lists special supplementary examinations for students who need them, and some families look for focused tuition before those. Check the current schedule on dge.tn.gov.in and plan the chapters that matter most for the paper.
Srirangam & North Bank. Srirangam and Thiruvanaikaval share the island, so weekly lessons there avoid any river crossing. Manachanallur, beyond the Kollidam, is reached by road. Students on the mainland can be taught online.
On cbseacademic.nic.in, with the marking schemes. Practise the case-based and competency questions in those papers, not just NCERT exercises, and confirm with the family whether the student sits Standard or Basic maths in Class 10.
Keep to one zone where you can, avoid market streets at their busiest and the highway at shift change, and use side streets in Thillai Nagar and Woraiyur. Late afternoon is usually calmer there; along the Thanjavur road, evenings after the shift change and weekend mornings work well.
Not always. The Junction, Fort, Town, Srirangam and Thiruverumbur stations and the two central bus stations make many neighbourhoods reachable, and Thillai Nagar, Woraiyur and Tennur are close together. A two-wheeler helps in Woraiyur's narrow lanes and in KK Nagar's spread-out layouts.
