What home tuition costs in Coimbatore

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry home tutor in Coimbatore: three branches, a trimmed syllabus and an evening slot that holds

Senior chemistry is unforgiving in a quiet way. A shaky grip on moles in Class 11 turns into lost marks in solutions and electrochemistry a year later, and organic conversions that were never practised in writing fall apart under exam pressure. The right tutor for a Coimbatore student knows where the board marks are concentrated, what the entrance exams add, and how to slot lessons between school and coaching. NXTutors proposes two or three such tutors for your child's course and locality, lists what each charges, and sets up a free demo with the one you prefer.

How do the three branches share CBSE Class 12 chemistry marks?

The theory paper (043) is out of 70 and lasts three hours. It has 33 compulsory questions across Sections A to E, with internal choice in some, and neither calculators nor log tables are allowed. The 2026-27 sample paper keeps the previous design, and marks are fixed chapter by chapter.

CBSE Class 12 chemistry 2026-27: each branch's total, its chapters with marks, and the kind of work it rewards
Branch and totalChapters (marks)The work it rewards
Organic, 33Haloalkanes and Haloarenes (6); Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers (6); Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids (8); Amines (6); Biomolecules (7)Conversions and mechanisms written out, week after week
Physical, 23Solutions (7); Electrochemistry (9); Chemical Kinetics (7)Numericals with units on every line
Inorganic, 14The d- and f-Block Elements (7); Coordination Compounds (7)Trends explained, then naming and bonding practised

Organic chemistry is close to half the paper, and its heaviest chapter is aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids. Electrochemistry, at 9, outweighs every other single chapter, and much of it is numerical. Roughly 40% of the marks go to remembering and understanding; the remainder need application, analysis or evaluation. Chapter-by-chapter notes are in our guide to Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page plans the year.

Which topics are examined on the board paper, and which are not?

Old notes are a trap: a set handed down from an older student can waste weeks on material the 2026-27 board paper will never ask about.

CBSE Class 12 chemistry 2026-27: topics outside the board paper and what a student should do about each
StatusTopicsWhat to do
Removed from the syllabusThe solid state; p-block Groups 15 to 18Skip for the board, but check the entrance syllabus before dropping them
In the syllabus, marked only by the schoolSurface chemistry; isolation of elements; polymers; chemistry in everyday lifeLearn for internal marks; keep them out of board-revision weeks

Entrance syllabi are a separate document issued by NTA, and some of what the board removed, including p-block content, can still be tested in NEET or JEE Main. Class 12 also stands on Class 11: the mole concept, equilibrium and the opening organic chapters. See the Class 11 chemistry tutors page for that year. Class 12 has one main board exam; watch cbse.gov.in for the 2027 dates.

What should a Tamil Nadu State Board chemistry student ask for?

Higher secondary chemistry on the state board is taught from Tamil Nadu's own syllabus and textbooks, and the Class 12 public examination is held by the state. The paper's design is the board's to publish, so it is not described here. Ask for a tutor who teaches from the book issued by your child's school and practises with the board's model and previous papers. A student also preparing for NEET or JEE needs the state chapter list compared with NTA's in Class 11, so gaps are timetabled early rather than found in a mock test.

How big a part does chemistry play in NEET and JEE Main?

NEET (UG) in 2026 was one pen-and-paper exam of 180 questions and 720 marks; chemistry supplied 45 questions and 180 marks, a quarter of the total. In JEE Main 2026 Paper 1, chemistry was a third of the 75 questions: 20 multiple-choice in Section A and 5 numerical-value in Section B. In each, a correct response earned +4 and an incorrect one cost a mark. NTA fixes the pattern afresh each year, so read the newest bulletin.

NEET chemistry leans on quick, exact recall of NCERT statements, especially in inorganic and organic chemistry, so a tutor should quiz straight from the textbook. JEE asks more: reaction mechanisms traced one arrow at a time and multi-stage physical chemistry problems. For either, bring each chapter to board standard first, then add entrance questions on it within the same week. What does the practical exam test, and what can be done at home?

Of the 30 practical marks, titration (volumetric analysis) and salt analysis earn 8 each, a content-based experiment 6, and the project and the record-plus-viva 4 apiece. This session the titration pits potassium permanganate against oxalic acid or ferrous ammonium sulphate (Mohr's salt) as the standard, and every student weighs out and makes up that standard solution personally.

Chemicals stay in the school laboratory, but plenty can be rehearsed at a desk at home:

  • the molarity calculation for the solution the student has weighed;
  • a tidy table for burette readings, concordant values and the final result;
  • the sequence of salt-analysis tests, preliminary first and confirmatory after, and why each comes where it does;
  • a project small enough to finish independently;
  • likely viva questions, for instance why a permanganate titration needs no added indicator.

Does your part of Coimbatore change how chemistry tuition runs?

Chemistry tuition in Class 12 is pen-on-paper work, usually fitted in after school or coaching. Five localities across the centre, the east and the south-west show what changes. Compare tutors near you on our Coimbatore page.

Around the central bus terminus

Gandhipuram, once called Katoor, grew into a commercial centre after its central bus terminus opened in 1974, and town buses from there reach every part of the city, which widens the pool of tutors who can come. Homes are apartments and compact houses behind the shops. Traffic round the terminus peaks at the morning and evening rush, so a mid-afternoon or weekend slot runs more smoothly, and a tutor may need to park on a side street and walk.

On Trichy Road in the east

Singanallur, a separate municipality until 1982, has its own railway station at Neelikonampalayam and a bus terminus serving the south and centre of the state. Housing ranges from apartments to villas and plots. Tutors from Ramanathapuram and Ondipudur reach most homes easily; the Singanallur junction on Trichy Road is among its busiest points, so keep lessons clear of the evening rush.

Three southern and south-western neighbourhoods

Kurichi is large, so send a new tutor the street name and a landmark; tutors from Sundarapuram, Kuniyamuthur and Podanur are close, and Podanur Junction is the nearest station. Selvapuram, on the Noyyal with Siruvani Road as its spine, has been part of Coimbatore since 1866; houses open to the street and buses link it with Gandhipuram and Ukkadam, so an early-evening class is easy to keep. Kovaipudur, a township at the foot of the Western Ghats, may ask for visitor details at the gate and has fewer tutors living inside it, so a nearby tutor plus online sessions often works.

Can we find an ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry tutor in Coimbatore?

Yes, though fewer than CBSE tutors, so ask early. For ISC, CISCE sets a theory paper with practical and project work, and answers must explain more than a one-line reason. IB Diploma chemistry, at SL or HL, is built on two broad themes, structure and reactivity; the scientific investigation must be the student's work, so a tutor may challenge the plan but contributes nothing to it. Cambridge IGCSE sciences come in Core and Extended tiers, and a student joining another board for Class 11 usually needs a quick grounding in moles, atoms and introductory organic chemistry; the tiers are explained in our Cambridge versus Edexcel IGCSE article. When no specialist can travel, pair one online with a tutor nearby.

What should a fortnight of chemistry tuition include?

  1. Session one: whatever chapter school has reached, explained through the reason behind each reaction or trend, ending with two written "give reasons" answers.
  2. Session two: two or three physical chemistry numericals, then a conversion chain written from memory.
  3. Session three: a recall quiz on the previous week's chapter and one section of a sample paper under time.
  4. Session four: marking that section against CBSE's official scheme, and a reaction map updated with new links.

For NEET or JEE students, a timed set of objective questions replaces the written reasons. Between lessons, a reaction map sketched without the book and then compared with NCERT keeps organic chemistry fresh.

What do chemistry home tutors in Coimbatore charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets a rate that follows the exam in view, their experience with it, the evening trip to your locality and how many sessions you book. Lessons online may be priced lower by the same tutor. You see all fees ahead of the demo.

How do you request a chemistry tutor?

Share your child's class and chemistry course, which exam counts most, where marks are leaking, your locality and the evenings you have free. A shortlist of two or three matched chemistry tutors arrives with fees attached; pick one for the free demo class. A poor fit gets another demo, and a later change of tutor is free. When nobody suitable can reach your home, online or mixed lessons are the alternative. NXTutors, headquartered in Sector 66, Gurugram, also teaches online anywhere in India; see the national chemistry home tutor page, or our science home tutors in Coimbatore for Classes 6 to 10.

Chemistry Home Tutor in Coimbatore: common questions

How do I request a chemistry home tutor in Coimbatore for Class 11 or 12?

To request a chemistry home tutor in Coimbatore, share the class, chemistry course, the exam that counts most, where marks are leaking, your locality and free evenings. A shortlist of two or three matched tutors follows, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

Will a Coimbatore chemistry tutor charge less for online lessons than home visits?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Coimbatore chemistry tutor's rate follows the exam in view, their experience with it, the evening trip and sessions booked; online lessons may be priced lower by the same tutor. You see all fees before the demo.

How do organic, physical and inorganic chemistry share the CBSE Class 12 marks for Coimbatore students?

For Coimbatore students, organic chemistry carries 33 of the 70 CBSE Class 12 theory marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14. Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids is the heaviest organic chapter at 8, while electrochemistry, at 9, outweighs every other single chapter. Calculators and log tables are not allowed.

Which Class 12 chemistry topics can Coimbatore CBSE students leave out of board revision?

Coimbatore CBSE students can leave the solid state and p-block Groups 15 to 18 out of board revision, since both are removed for 2026-27. Surface chemistry, isolation of elements, polymers and chemistry in everyday life stay, but are marked only by the school. Entrance students should check NTA's syllabus before dropping anything.

What should a Tamil Nadu State Board chemistry student in Coimbatore ask a tutor for?

A Tamil Nadu State Board chemistry student in Coimbatore should ask for a tutor who teaches from the school's state textbook and practises with the board's model and previous papers. A student also preparing for NEET or JEE needs the state chapter list compared with NTA's in Class 11, so gaps are timetabled early.

How much weight does chemistry carry in NEET and JEE Main for Coimbatore aspirants?

For Coimbatore aspirants, chemistry supplied 45 of 180 NEET (UG) 2026 questions, 180 of the 720 marks. In JEE Main 2026 Paper 1, it was a third of the 75 questions: 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical-value. In each, a correct response earned four and a wrong one cost a mark.

What parts of the Class 12 chemistry practical can a Coimbatore student rehearse at home?

A Coimbatore student can rehearse the molarity calculation, a clean burette-reading table, the salt-analysis test sequence and likely viva questions at home. Titration and salt analysis earn 8 marks each of the 30 practical marks. This session, potassium permanganate is titrated against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, prepared by the student personally.

Can a chemistry tutor reach Kovaipudur at the foot of the Western Ghats?

Yes, a chemistry tutor can reach Kovaipudur in Coimbatore, though fewer tutors live inside the township and the gate may ask for visitor details. Pairing a nearby home tutor with online sessions for harder topics often works. Around Kurichi, tutors from Sundarapuram, Kuniyamuthur and Podanur are close.

Our Coimbatore child studies ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry. How early should we ask for a tutor?

Ask early for an ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry tutor in Coimbatore, because these specialists are fewer than CBSE tutors. IB Diploma chemistry builds on two themes, structure and reactivity, and the scientific investigation must be the student's own. When no specialist can travel, pair one online with a tutor nearby.

What should a fortnight of chemistry tuition in Coimbatore include?

A fortnight of chemistry tuition in Coimbatore should include four sessions: the school chapter with two written give-reasons answers, then physical chemistry numericals with a conversion chain. Next comes a recall quiz with one timed sample-paper section, and finally marking that section against CBSE's official scheme. NEET or JEE students swap written reasons for timed objective sets.
