Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Ask a Class 12 student in Jabalpur what is wrong with their chemistry and the answer is often "everything", which is rarely true. Usually one branch is leaking marks: a unit slip in every electrochemistry numerical, organic conversions that collapse after two steps, or inorganic trends learnt without reasons. A home tutor's first job is to find which, then work on it week after week alongside school and any NEET or JEE batch. Whether your child sits the MP Board, CBSE or ISC paper, NXTutors sends two or three chemistry tutors who know that syllabus and can reach your locality. You see what each charges before the demo, and the demo itself is free.
A Class 12 science student can be working towards a board paper and one or two entrance tests in the same year. Each puts a different value on chemistry:
| Paper | Chemistry's share | Pays for |
|---|---|---|
| MP Board, Higher Secondary (Class 12) | Syllabus and paper set by the Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh | Whatever the board's current syllabus on mpbse.nic.in lays down |
| CBSE Class 12 chemistry (043) | A 70-mark theory paper over three hours, 33 questions, all compulsory; and 30 marks of practical | Reasons in writing, equations that balance, numericals set out cleanly |
| NEET (UG), 2026 pattern | 45 questions out of 180, so 180 of the 720 marks | Quick, word-perfect recall of NCERT |
| JEE Main 2026, Paper 1 | 25 of the 75 questions: 20 with options and 5 with a numerical answer | Reaction mechanisms and physical chemistry problems in several steps |
In both NTA exams in 2026, a right answer earned four marks and a wrong one cost one. NTA issues a fresh bulletin each year, so confirm the pattern there. For chapter priorities, see our list of NEET chemistry chapters that matter most, the branch-wise JEE chemistry guide, and the chemistry tutor for NEET page.
Before any new teaching, ask the tutor to go through two recent marked papers and sort every lost mark. The pattern almost always falls into one of these rows:
| Branch | How the loss shows up | Weekly remedy with a tutor |
|---|---|---|
| Physical | Right formula, wrong answer: a missing unit, a power of ten, a log step skipped | Two problems solved aloud, line by line, with the tutor stopping each slip as it happens |
| Organic | Conversions that stall after the first reagent; named reactions mixed up | One sheet that links each functional group to the next, redrawn from memory weekly and checked against NCERT |
| Inorganic | Trends stated without a reason; NCERT lines half-remembered | Short spoken quizzes straight from the textbook, each answer ending in "because" |
| Any branch | A good idea written as a thin one-line answer | Two "give reasons" board questions written and marked before the session ends |
For a student in a coaching batch, the home session should follow the batch's current chapter rather than run ahead, and spend its time on whichever row the marked papers point to.
CBSE fixes marks for each chapter, which makes a year plan straightforward. For 2026-27, with the paper design carried over from last session, the ten theory chapters group by branch like this:
| Branch (total) | Chapters and marks |
|---|---|
| Organic (33) | Haloalkanes and Haloarenes (6), then Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers (6), Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids (8), Amines (6) and Biomolecules (7) |
| Physical (23) | Solutions (7), Electrochemistry (9) and Chemical Kinetics (7) |
| Inorganic (14) | d- and f-Block Elements (7) and Coordination Compounds (7) |
So organic chemistry alone is nearly half of the 70, and electrochemistry, at 9, outweighs every other chapter. Over three hours the student works through sections A to E, with internal choice offered on a few questions; calculators and log tables are not permitted. Something like 40% of the marks reward recalling and understanding, and the remaining 60% or so need application, analysis or evaluation. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide takes the chapters in turn, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page shows a board-year plan.
The 2026-27 curriculum makes two kinds of cut. The first is a full deletion: the solid-state chapter has gone from Class 12, and so has the second half of the p-block, the elements of Groups 15, 16, 17 and 18. The second is a shift of marking: surface chemistry, metallurgy (getting elements out of their ores), polymers and the everyday chemistry chapter are still on the teaching plan, but the school assesses them and the board paper leaves them out.
For a NEET or JEE aspirant that is only half the story. The entrance syllabi are NTA's, not CBSE's, and some of the deleted material, p-block content among it, may still be examined there. Revise for the board from the board's list, and cross nothing off for the entrance test until the current NTA syllabus has been read.
More than families tend to expect. The 30 marks are made up of:
The burette and reagents stay in the school lab, but at home a tutor can drill the molarity calculation from the mass weighed, the layout of a burette-reading table that leads to the answer, the order of tests in salt analysis from preliminary to confirmatory, a project the student can honestly finish, and viva favourites such as why permanganate titrations need no separate indicator.
The Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh runs the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination at Class 12; its site also lists a second examination besides the main one. Each session the board posts the syllabus for Classes 9 to 12, including project and practical work, on mpbse.nic.in. We give no MP Board chemistry pattern here; that site is the reference for the current one.
Ask for a tutor who teaches from the prescribed textbook in your child's medium, keeps the practical record and project moving through the year, and, if NEET or JEE is also planned, adds NCERT-level precision without losing sight of the board book.
Specialists in these courses are fewer than CBSE or MP Board teachers, so say which one in your first message. If none can reach you, an online specialist can teach while a nearby tutor marks the written practice.
Six localities in the centre and west of the city show what to plan for. The Jabalpur page lists tutors by locality.
| Locality | Homes | Getting in | Planning tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Napier Town | Flats in buildings of several floors, close to the main markets and offices | Building name, floor and any guard-desk routine shared in advance | A fixed weekday slot agreed in the first week |
| Wright Town | Mostly flats, many of them two-bedroom, in compact buildings | Block, floor, whether visitors sign in, and where a two-wheeler goes | Keep clear of Gole Bazar's market hours |
| Civil Lines | A mix of houses and flats around Jabalpur Junction and offices | A gate number and landmark, or block and floor | Office and station traffic peaks morning and evening |
| Katanga | Houses on lanes and flats in buildings, near Marhatal and Naya Mohalla | The nearest well-known turning and two-wheeler parking | Start before evening market traffic towards Gorakhpur |
| Madan Mahal | Mostly independent houses, with some apartments and builder floors | Usually straight to the door with a house number | Leave a margin when evening trains come in |
| Garha | A large area of houses and buildings near Ganga Nagar and Sanjeevani Nagar | Which part of Garha; a name at the entrance for a building | Avoid NH-45's evening traffic |
In the weeks before pre-boards, if a route becomes unreliable, move one of the weekly visits online so the revision plan is not interrupted.
Most of Class 12 rests on three Class 11 foundations: the mole concept, equilibrium, and the first organic chapters. They come back in solutions, in electrochemistry and in every conversion question, and a weak base costs marks in both the board paper and the entrance tests a year later. A term spent securing them is cheaper than a rescue in the board year. See the Class 11 chemistry tutor page, or the national chemistry home tutor page for how we match elsewhere.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor fixes their own rate, which rises with the exam being targeted and the tutor's experience of it; the evening trip to your locality and the number of weekly sessions count too, and online lessons with the same tutor may be priced lower. All fees are visible before the demo. The Jabalpur fees guide lists sensible questions to ask.
The class and board, the main exam, the branch that loses most marks, any coaching days, your locality with a landmark and the evenings you can offer. We reply with two or three chemistry tutors and their fees, and you choose one for a free demo. If that tutor is not right, a second demo follows with someone else, and changing tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check reviewed by our team. If no suitable tutor can travel to you, we propose online or part-online lessons. NXTutors is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India.

Yes, a Jabalpur tutor can teach MP Board Class 11 and 12 chemistry from the prescribed textbook in your child's medium, Hindi or English. The tutor should keep the practical record and project moving through the year. MPBSE posts the current syllabus each session on mpbse.nic.in, so plan from that version.
Nearly, yes: for a Jabalpur student, organic chemistry carries 33 of the 70 CBSE Class 12 chemistry theory marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14. Electrochemistry, at 9, is the heaviest single chapter, followed by aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids at 8. Calculators and log tables are not allowed.
For CBSE Class 12 chemistry in Jabalpur, the solid state and the Group 15 to 18 p-block elements are deleted for 2026-27. Surface chemistry, metallurgy, polymers and everyday chemistry are taught but marked by the school. NEET and JEE may still test deleted content, so read NTA's syllabus first.
For a Jabalpur student, chemistry was 25 of 75 questions in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 and 45 of 180 in NEET (UG) 2026. The JEE set had 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical items. In both NTA exams a right answer earned four marks and a wrong one cost one.
A Jabalpur chemistry tutor finds the leaking branch by sorting every lost mark in two recent marked papers before teaching anything new. Physical slips show as missing units or powers of ten, organic as stalled conversions, inorganic as trends stated without reasons. Each pattern gets its own weekly remedy.
A Jabalpur home tutor can rehearse much of the 30-mark CBSE chemistry practical: the molarity calculation, burette-reading tables, the order of salt-analysis tests and viva questions. Titration and salt identification are worth 8 marks each, a theory-linked experiment 6, the project 4, and record with viva 4.
A Jabalpur student should secure Class 11 chemistry because the mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters return throughout Class 12. They come back in solutions, electrochemistry and every conversion question. A term spent fixing them costs less than a rescue in the board year.
A Jabalpur chemistry student should switch some lessons online when a route becomes unreliable before pre-boards, so the revision plan is not interrupted. Online also helps when an ISC, IB or IGCSE specialist cannot reach you; a nearby tutor can then mark the written practice while the specialist teaches.
A chemistry tutor can reach Katanga or Wright Town in Jabalpur in the evening with clear directions. For Katanga, give the nearest well-known turning and two-wheeler parking, and start before market traffic towards Gorakhpur. For Wright Town flats, share block, floor and sign-in routine, and avoid Gole Bazar's market hours.
