Within the Dwarka zone, Sector 9 stands out for two things: a Blue Line station of its own, which was the end of the line for four years, and a large Delhi government teaching hospital. This guide covers what those mean for the tutor's journey, the pocket layout and the weekly plan.
| Point | Dwarka Sector 9 |

| Homes | CGHS society flats from 1 RK to 3 BHK, DDA SFS flats, pockets such as Pocket 1 and Pocket 2 |
| Societies on the map | Azad Hind, Bhrigu, Krishna, Mount Everest, Munirka, Park Royal, Sarve Sanjhi, Shivalika and Sunview Apartments; Shree Radha CGHS and Sukh Sagar on portals |
| Metro | Dwarka Sector 9 (Blue Line), inside the sector, Gate 1 and Gate 2 |
| Next stations | Dwarka Sector 10 towards Noida and Vaishali; Dwarka Sector 8 towards Sector 21 |

| Parks | Sector 9 Park and Park No. 3 on OpenStreetMap |
Sector 9 is split into pockets, and addresses here usually start with one. OpenStreetMap shows a chartered accountant's office at Pocket 2, and the government's CGHS listing places its Sector 9 wellness centre at Pocket 1, HAF-1. Knowing the pocket is the first thing a tutor needs.
Inside the pockets are cooperative society blocks. OpenStreetMap names Azad Hind, Bhrigu, Krishna, Mount Everest, Munirka, Park Royal, Sarve Sanjhi, Shivalika and Sunview Apartments, as well as Home Living and a DDA SFS block. NoBroker adds Shree Radha CGHS, Sukh Sagar, Paradise and Millennium Apartments. Its listings range from 1 RK and 1 BHK flats up to 3 BHK, which is a wider spread of sizes than in some neighbouring sectors.
Smaller flats are common enough here that the study space deserves thought. In a 1 BHK or 1 RK, a fold-out table near a window and a fixed time when the room is quiet do more than any extra hour of teaching. Larger 3 BHK flats can give the child a room of their own for lessons.
Part of the sector is set aside for public buildings rather than homes; addresses there mention a "PSP Area". A large hospital run by the Government of NCT of Delhi lists its address as Sector 9, Dwarka, and describes itself as a multi-speciality teaching hospital. The CGHS Wellness Centre in Pocket 1 serves Dwarka Sectors 1 to 14, according to a CGHS notification. If you work hospital or other shift hours, ask matched tutors about weekend and early-morning lessons.
Daily needs come from the Sector 9 market, mapped on OpenStreetMap, along with milk booths and fuel stations on the main roads.
We found no resident reviews written for Sector 9 on NoBroker, so this section is short. The themes come from Dwarka-wide reporting and apply here as timing advice.
The everyday questions are the same as anywhere: a steady weekly slot, a tutor who knows the board, and a sensible split between home and online for senior subjects.
Sector 9 has one of the most convenient arrangements in the zone: its own station. Dwarka Sector 9 on the Blue Line is elevated, with two side platforms, two street gates on OpenStreetMap, car parking and step-free access. It opened on 1 April 2006 and was the western end of the line until the Sector 21 section opened on 30 October 2010.
From the station, trains run east through Dwarka Sector 10, Sector 11 and Sector 12 and on towards Dwarka Mor, Uttam Nagar and Janakpuri West, where the Magenta Line meets the Blue Line. Westwards, the next stop is Dwarka Sector 8 and then Dwarka Sector 21, where the Airport Express also stops. That makes Sector 9 easy for tutors living anywhere along the Blue Line, including those who change at Rajiv Chowk from the Yellow Line.
Once off the train, most pockets are a walk or a short e-rickshaw ride away. Tell the tutor which gate to use, Gate 1 or Gate 2, depending on your side of the station.
By road, OpenStreetMap shows Road 205, Road 224 and Central Road passing through the sector, with Ganpati Chowk at a main junction and a bus stop named Royal Residency. Tutors from Sector 7, Sector 6 or Sector 10 can come by scooter or auto in a short trip.
A few tutors combine the two: they drive to a station near their own home, use its parking, and ride the train the rest of the way. Wikipedia lists car parking at Sector 9 station itself, so the reverse also works for a tutor who lives beyond the western end of the line.
Most Sector 9 homes sit inside a society within a pocket, so a tutor passes a guard and a register.
For a woman tutor, say so in your request; NXTutors can shortlist a woman tutor in Delhi where one fits. Tutors joining NXTutors complete an ID check, and in Sector 9 as elsewhere, a profile shows its badge only after our team's review of that ID. See the ID check steps. It is not a police or background check.
In Sector 9 the board asked about most is CBSE; ICSE and ISC follow, and IB or Cambridge IGCSE requests are occasional. Expect a CBSE tutor to teach from NCERT books and practise on cbseacademic.nic.in papers, and an ICSE tutor to follow what CISCE prescribes.
The station changes the picture for less common boards. Because Sector 9 is a straight Blue Line ride from much of west and central Delhi, an ICSE or IGCSE specialist who lives far away can still come home, where in a sector without a station they might only teach online. Our CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE comparison explains how the boards differ, and the ICSE home tutors in Delhi page covers that board.
For a young child, the tutor's distance decides how often they can come. In Sector 9, tutors from one or two stations away can still manage several visits a week, because the station is inside the sector. Ask for reading, writing and number practice, and a short message after each lesson. A child in Classes 1 to 3 often does well with three or four sittings of under an hour; by Class 5, two longer sittings can replace them. See primary tutors in Delhi.
These years set up the board classes. A tutor who covers maths and science together, two or three times a week, works for many families. In a smaller flat, keep a box for the child's books by the table so lessons start on time. Ask the tutor to look at the school notebook every week; it shows what the teacher expects better than the textbook does, and it reveals early which topics are slipping.
Class 9 is when a board plan starts: a chapter calendar, short timed tests and a running list of errors. Ninety-minute lessons give space to explain and to practise. Our Class 9 home tuition in Delhi page sets out what a tutor should cover in that year.
Families usually take one tutor per subject: Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology for science, and Accountancy, Economics or Business Studies for commerce. For JEE or NEET, the station lets a specialist from across Delhi come home, and online lessons fill the gaps on busy weeks. Ask each matched tutor how they split time between the school syllabus, board practicals and entrance-style problems, because the balance changes between Class 11 and Class 12.
Board papers for CBSE and ICSE students mostly sit in February and March; check every date only on cbse.gov.in or cisce.org, and on ibo.org or cambridgeinternational.org for international boards. Because the metro keeps Sector 9 tutors on time in winter fog, home lessons can usually continue through revision, but agree an online back-up for days when trains or roads are disrupted.
A home tutor gives your child one-to-one time without a trip. Sector 9's station means the pool of tutors who can reach your door is larger than in most Dwarka sectors.
Online lessons cut out travel and bring in specialists from anywhere. They suit IB, IGCSE, senior science and entrance practice, and weeks when your household is busy. See online tutors for Delhi families.
A coaching centre suits a child who wants a group and a timetable, and the station makes the trip easier from Sector 9 than from most sectors. The catch is the winter walk from the platform to your pocket once a late batch ends. Many families blend a home tutor with one centre or online class.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Tutors set their own rates, and NXTutors shows each one before the free demo. In Sector 9 the class, board and subject set most of the quote, followed by lesson length and how many lessons a week you book.
The station also matters. A tutor who arrives by metro has a predictable trip and may be happy with shorter lessons; a tutor who drives in from beyond the Blue Line may prefer fewer, longer ones. Settle how holidays, missed lessons and pre-exam extra classes are billed before you start.
OpenStreetMap shows Sector 9 Park and Park No. 3 inside the sector, good for a short walk between study sessions. We could not find a public library in Sector 9. The nearest dedicated study library we found reported in Dwarka is the DDA-backed Aarambh library in Sector 16-B, a paid, round-the-clock reading space; check its current terms before relying on it.
