Sector 14 lies at the Kakrola end of the Dwarka zone in Delhi. It is mostly DDA flats, it has its own Blue Line station that is also the nearest for National Law University Delhi, and the next stop east is where the Grey Line to Najafgarh begins. Those features decide how a tutor gets to you and when.

Most of Sector 14 is DDA housing. Square Yards describes a planned layout of one-, two- and three-bedroom DDA flats, which makes it different from the large cooperative society blocks of Sectors 11 and 12. The DDA's own project list adds a composite housing scheme in Pocket 5, Sector 14, mixing EWS flats with one- and two-bedroom units, work on which started in 2016; later DDA schemes have offered flats there too.
The rest of the sector is institutional and commercial. National Law University Delhi has its campus in Sector 14, and Wikipedia names Dwarka Sector 14 as its nearest metro station. OpenStreetMap shows the office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, Vegas Mall with a cinema, Sulahkul Mandir with its footbridge, and a Ramlila ground. Nearby localities such as Kakrola village and Bharat Vihar sit just beyond the planned sector.
For tuition, the DDA character matters. A DDA flat of one or two bedrooms rarely has a spare room, so the lesson usually happens in the living area. The newer Pocket 5 blocks are compact in the same way. Choosing a slot when siblings are out, and a table away from the TV, does more for the lesson than the tutor's commute.
Public material on Sector 14 is thinner than for its neighbours; NoBroker has no resident reviews for it yet. What exists, from Square Yards' locality overview and wider reporting on Dwarka, points to a few themes.
Because so many homes here are compact DDA flats, families also tend to think about where in the flat the lesson will happen and who else will be at home; the boards section below has suggestions. Parents also bring the usual questions about fixed days, board marking and whether a senior subject is better online. The sections below answer them for Sector 14.
Dwarka Sector 14 station has served the Blue Line since 1 April 2006. It is elevated, with two gates, car parking and access for disabled passengers, and DTC routes OLA120 and RL-75 stop outside. Westbound, the next stop is Dwarka Sector 13; eastbound, the next is Dwarka, where passengers change for the Grey Line to Nangli, Najafgarh and Dhansa Bus Stand. Beyond that the Blue Line runs on through Dwarka Mor, Uttam Nagar and Janakpuri towards central Delhi.
That makes Sector 14 one of the easier Dwarka sectors for a tutor from Najafgarh or Nangli: a Grey Line ride and one change. Tutors from Uttam Nagar and Janakpuri can stay on the Blue Line. By road, OpenStreetMap shows Azad Hind Fauj Marg and Road 205 as the main roads, with Old Palam Road and Dwarka Greens Road crossing the sector; Square Yards says Old Palam Road links towards the Palam area.
The closest neighbours are Sector 13, about 1.5 km away by Square Yards' estimate, Sector 12 and Sectors 16B and 17, with Kakrola, Suraj Vihar and Bharat Vihar beside the sector. NXTutors ranks tutors by that geography: in or travelling to Sector 14 first, then the Dwarka zone, then the rest of Delhi, then online.
Give the pocket and block in your request. Sector 14's DDA blocks look alike from the road, and a tutor who knows the pocket number before setting out saves ten minutes of asking around.
DDA pockets and apartment societies in Sector 14 usually have a guarded entry. Tell the guard the tutor's name and the days they will come, and share the block and flat number with the tutor. Where a resident welfare association runs the gate, ask whether a regular visitor can be noted once rather than checked every time.
Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check: a one-time code confirms their phone, and they upload a government photo ID that our team reviews. It is not a police or background check, and our page on checking tutors explains exactly what it covers. For the first few lessons, have an adult at home and use a shared room.
If you would rather have a woman tutor, mention it and we will shortlist women only. In smaller DDA flats where the lesson happens in the living room, a parent nearby is natural anyway, which many families find reassuring.
Requests from Sector 14 are chiefly for CBSE, with some for ICSE or ISC and a few for IB or Cambridge IGCSE. CBSE's official sample papers and CISCE's published syllabuses are where a good tutor starts.
Housing changes the set-up more than the board does. In a one- or two-bedroom DDA flat, agree a fixed corner with good light and a proper table, and keep the TV off for the hour. Board choices themselves are compared in our CBSE vs ICSE vs IB vs IGCSE guide. For CBSE-specific matching, see CBSE tuition at home in Delhi.
For young children, steady routine counts for more than long hours. A tutor who comes at the same time on set days, reads with the child, checks handwriting and practises number facts, builds habits that last. In a small flat, a short session is also easier on the rest of the family.
The step up to algebra, geometry and separate science chapters often catches children out. A combined maths and science tutor keeps things simple, and a brief written check each month tells you whether the concepts are holding.
Board years are when many families first bring in a tutor. A CBSE tutor should plan from the official syllabus and sample papers. Our Class 9 home tutors in Delhi page explains why starting the board groundwork in Class 9 helps.
Senior students need specialists, often more than one. Families in compact DDA flats sometimes prefer one tutor at home and others online, which keeps the living room free on more evenings. Our home maths tuition in Delhi page covers the most common senior request.
With the Grey Line and the Blue Line both close, tutors from Najafgarh as well as west Delhi can reach Sector 14, but for entrance work the tutor's exam experience matters more than distance. Ask at the demo how they would mix board revision with timed practice.
Before boards, many families add a weekend session; book it early, since other students will want the same slots. Use only dates that CBSE or CISCE publish themselves. CBSE's scheme of two Class 10 board exams, the second optional, lets a tutor plan a second round of revision for students who want to improve. Avoid a peak-hour session on mall weekends near Vegas Mall if the tutor has to drive.
A home tutor works well in Sector 14 because two metro lines bring tutors close and DDA blocks are quick to reach. It suits younger children and board-year subjects that need close checking of written work.
Online tuition helps when the specialist lives far away, when crowded evening trains make the trip unreliable, or when a small flat cannot host several tutors a week. A coaching centre gives a group and a schedule but means travel and less one-to-one time. See our online tutors for Delhi families page for how online matching works.
NXTutors does not fix a price for Sector 14: every tutor names their own fee, and you see it before the demo. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
What shifts a fee: the class, subject and board, the tutor's experience with exam-year students, session length and frequency, and the distance travelled. A tutor from Sector 13 or Kakrola has a short trip; one coming from across Delhi has a long one. The free demo lets you compare before paying.
Sector 16-B, which property portals list as a neighbour of Sector 14, has the DDA's Aarambh library-cum-reading room, opened in July 2025 in a converted community centre, with Wi-Fi, lockers and 24-hour access. For a break, Sector 14 Dwarka Park is inside the sector.

Does your child follow the IB or IGCSE? From Dwarka Sector 14 you can ask directly for a tutor who teaches that programme. Our IB tutors page covers Delhi, and on this page you can request the same help for a single subject or several, at home or online.
Whatever the board, one request is enough. We read your child's class, subjects and the evenings you have free, then share a short list, usually two or three tutors whose subjects match, and you meet each one through a free demo before deciding.
The names on this page start with tutors who live in Sector 14 or travel to it. After them you will see people who teach in other Dwarka sectors, say on the Dwarka Sector 13 or Dwarka Sector 19 pages, then teachers across the city. Home tutors living in Gurugram or another NCR city can follow, and online tutors come at the end. Every card explains in one line why it is shown. If Sector 14 has no tutor listed yet for your subject, the wider names are still worth a conversation. Ask each one how they teach Physics or English for your child's exact programme, and which past papers they use.
