Can a maths teacher who works in Hindi medium find tuition in Agra, or is it all English-medium CBSE? Both kinds of work exist side by side, often in the same lane. A Class 10 child writing the UP Board High School paper in Hindi and a neighbour preparing for a CBSE Standard paper in English are both 'maths students', but they win marks in different ways, and the families know it. Requests here usually state the board, the class and the medium, so a tutor who is precise about all three is easy to match.

Start with the UP Board High School paper, because it shapes a large share of Class 10 maths work. The Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad's 2026-27 syllabus gives 70 marks to the written paper and 30 to assessment inside the school, including project work, and a student needs 23 in the paper and 10 internally to pass. Algebra carries 18 of the 70, trigonometry 12, geometry, mensuration and statistics with probability 10 each, and number systems and coordinate geometry 5 each. Heights and distances are limited to 30, 45 and 60 degrees and at most two right triangles. The model paper shows three hours plus a reading period, a Section A of twenty one-mark multiple-choice questions marked on an OMR sheet where cutting, erasers and whitener are not allowed, and a Section B of 50 marks in five questions. Tutors who run timed blocks on OMR-style sheets are doing exactly what this paper rewards.
Intermediate maths raises the stakes differently. In Classes 11 and 12 the UP Board sets a single 100-mark paper each year with no internal share, so the year-end paper is everything. In Class 11, algebra (35) and sets and functions (28) carry well over half the marks; in Class 12, calculus alone is 44, with vectors and three-dimensional geometry 18, algebra 15, relations and functions 10, probability 8 and linear programming 5. The Class 12 model paper has nine compulsory questions with parts rising to eight marks, which rewards complete written working. The board publishes a monthly syllabus that makes a ready pacing guide, and for 2026-27 it has told schools to teach only books it has authorised. For Agra district, the board's Meerut regional office handles result and scrutiny queries.
CBSE and CISCE families add their own demand. CBSE Class 10 has an 80-mark board paper with 20 assessed in school, and parents ask whether Standard or Basic suits their child; CBSE Class 12 puts heavy weight on calculus too. ICSE and ISC papers carry 80 written marks with 20 for internal or project work. Medium is the thread through all of it: the UP Board model papers are set in Hindi, and a student who learnt samantar shreni and is taught 'arithmetic progression' spends half the lesson translating. Students moving from a Hindi-medium school into English-medium Class 11 often need a short bridge of terms and word problems.
Agra splits into five zones for tutors, and a maths round usually sits inside one. North Agra takes in Kamla Nagar's Blocks A to F, Balkeshwar Colony and Dayal Bagh with the New Agra colonies; ask for the block and section, such as Tejnagar or Natrajpuram, and note that Kamla Nagar's markets fill up in the evening. West Agra runs from Sikandra on the Mathura road through the Avas Vikas Colony sectors to Shastripuram, Bodla and Lohamandi; addresses depend on the sector number, and evening traffic builds at Bodla crossing and on the highway towards Mathura.
Central Agra and Cantt covers Civil Lines, Khandari, Shahganj and Sadar Bazaar, with many apartment buildings where you give your name to a guard and cantonment homes that may have entry checks; office traffic around Sanjay Place makes early evening the practical slot. South Agra holds Tajganj, Fatehabad Road and Rajpur Chungi, where the open Yellow Line section lets a tutor from the old city ride to Taj Mahal, Fatehabad Road or Taj East Gate station and finish by auto. Across the river, Trans Yamuna Colony, Kalindi Vihar and Rambagh are easiest for a tutor who already lives on the east bank, because the bridge approaches are slow at office hours and in the evening.
Agra parents shortlist maths tutors on three facts they can see at a glance: board, class and medium. Put all three at the start of your profile, for example 'UP Board High School and Intermediate, Hindi and English medium; CBSE Classes 9 to 12'. Then add localities you can reach at lesson time week after week. A tutor in Kamla Nagar might cover Balkeshwar Colony and Dayal Bagh; one in Avas Vikas Colony might keep to Sikandra, Bodla and Shastripuram. Leaving out cross-river trips at peak hours is sensible, and online lessons can cover those families instead.
Treat the free demo as a short assessment the parent can watch. For a UP Board Class 10 student, bring ten one-mark questions on an OMR-style sheet and one long algebra question; for Class 12, one integration problem written out in full. Point out what the child did well and the one habit you would fix first. If the student is switching medium, show the two-column term list you would use. Parents in Agra remember a tutor who understood their child's paper rather than maths in general.

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
It is a real part of the work. The UP Board model papers for maths are set in Hindi, and many Agra students learn and answer in Hindi while others use English. State on your profile which medium you teach in, or both, so families can match you to the language of the answer sheet.
Run timed blocks of one-mark questions on OMR-style sheets and teach the student to settle each answer in rough work before marking it, since the sheet allows no cutting, eraser or whitener. Section A is twenty one-mark questions; the remaining 50 marks are written answers.
Because the Class 11 and Class 12 maths papers are each 100 marks with no internal share, so everything rides on the final paper. In Class 12, calculus alone carries 44 marks, and a steady weekly plan is safer than a late rush.
Any zone on your own bank. A tutor in the north or west can build a round from Kamla Nagar, Balkeshwar, Sikandra or the Avas Vikas sectors; one living in Trans Yamuna Colony, Kalindi Vihar or Rambagh can cover the east bank without a bridge.
