Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Meerut
Class 9 is where many Meerut parents first go looking for a maths tutor. The arithmetic of the middle years gives way to polynomials, proofs in geometry and coordinate work, the High School or Class 10 board is a year away, and a student who coasted until now suddenly brings home lower marks. Requests at this stage are rarely about one chapter; they are about rebuilding method before the board year starts.

If you teach maths and are thinking about tuition work in Meerut, this page sets out which boards and classes ask for it, how Hindi and English medium affect the lesson, which parts of the city are practical for home visits now that the metro runs north to south, and how to make the free demo count. Joining is free and the fee is yours to decide; payment and credits are explained in the shared section further down.
The UP Board is a large part of maths work here. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, headquartered in Prayagraj, has had a regional office in Meerut since 1973; it prescribes the courses and textbooks for High School and Intermediate and conducts both examinations. UP Board students study in Hindi or English medium, and maths terms differ sharply between them: a student who knows 'samantar shredhi' may not recognise arithmetic progression, and the reverse is just as common. Teach from the prescribed book in the student's medium, and read every syllabus and notice on upmsp.edu.in rather than trusting a forwarded copy.
High School maths requests tend to cluster around algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and around students who know methods but cannot finish a paper in time. Intermediate maths is heavier and more abstract, with functions, calculus, vectors, three-dimensional geometry and probability, and many students taking it are also aiming at engineering entrance. Meerut families preparing for JEE often keep a home or online maths tutor beside a coaching batch; the job then is doubt clearing, fixing weak chapters and keeping the board syllabus on schedule, with no promises about ranks.
CBSE students work from NCERT and choose Mathematics Standard or Basic in Class 10, with sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in setting the standard. ICSE and ISC students are marked on full written working across a wide syllabus, so revision has to run through the year rather than in a final burst. A few IB and IGCSE learners in Meerut need course-specific maths, Analysis and Approaches or Extended IGCSE for instance, and the right specialist often teaches them online.
The line from Meerut South to Modipuram, opened on 22 February 2026, changed how a maths tutor can plan a week here. A tutor living near the old Delhi road can ride to Daurli, Brahmpuri or Rithani and finish by auto. North Meerut (Roorkee Road), with Pallavpuram, Shradhapuri, Sainik Vihar, Kanker Khera, Daurli and Modipuram, is mostly authority colonies of plotted houses; ask for the phase and pocket letter before the first visit. Meerut North, Daurli and Modipuram stations serve the zone, but the Roorkee road slows at office hours, so early or weekend slots are the most dependable.
Central Meerut, covering Saket, Begum Bagh, Thapar Nagar and Brahmpuri, has Begumpul, Meerut Central, Bhaisali and Brahmapuri stations and the Bhainsali bus stand; Saket families often give Gol Market as a landmark. South Meerut (Delhi Road), through Shatabdi Nagar, Ved Vyas Puri, Rithani and Partapur, lines up along the stations of the old Delhi road, though Shatabdi Nagar's societies register visitors at the gate. East Meerut (Garh Road and Ganga Nagar) has no station, so tutors reach Shastri Nagar, Jagriti Vihar, Lohia Nagar, Ganga Nagar and Rakshapuram by road, ideally before Garh Road's evening rush. Online sessions cover the rest.
Treat the demo as an investigation. Before you arrive, ask for the student's last test. Start with five quick questions from earlier classes that the current chapter rests on, because a Class 10 student stuck in trigonometry often turns out to be shaky with ratios or algebraic simplification. Fix one of those gaps in the lesson and let the student solve a board-style question unaided. Meerut parents comparing two or three tutors remember the one who explained why marks were being lost.
On your profile, pair the board, class and medium: 'UP Board High School and Intermediate maths, Hindi and English medium' or 'CBSE Class 9–12 maths; JEE doubt clearing'. List the colonies you reach, noting if you travel along the metro line, and your free hours and online option. Your fee is visible to families before the free demo. After that, punctuality and a clear note to the parent after each chapter test are what keep a student with you through the board year.

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Yes. Add Hindi (and English, if you teach in both) to your profile. UP Board students study in either medium, and a request often names it. Use the terms in the prescribed textbook so lessons match the exam paper.
Along the open line, yes. Stations from Meerut South to Modipuram let a tutor reach colonies near the old Delhi road and the Roorkee road, then finish by auto. East Meerut has no station, so list colonies there only if you can reach them by road.
We do not publish counts, but High School and Intermediate, and CBSE Classes 10 and 12, are board years and attract most worried parents. Class 9 is a common starting point because the jump in algebra and geometry shows up there.
Only if you are comfortable with JEE-level problems. Many families want doubt clearing beside a coaching batch rather than a second full course. Describe your role honestly and never promise a rank.

The phase, sector or pocket letter along with the house number, because these authority colonies are laid out in phases and pockets. A main-road landmark helps on the first visit.
