Science tutor jobs in Meerut

A science tutor living near Begumpul can now reach Modipuram in the north or Partapur in the south by metro and be at a student's door with a short auto ride. That is new: the section from Meerut South to Modipuram opened on 22 February 2026. For a subject usually taught straight after school, when the roads are at their worst, a train that avoids the Roorkee road and the old Delhi road traffic widens the list of homes you can reach on time.

This page is for teachers of combined science, Classes 6 to 10, who are considering tuition work in Meerut. It covers the boards and classes that ask for science, the chapters where students struggle, how the four zones and the metro shape a week, and how to show your teaching in the free demo. Senior physics, chemistry and biology have their own pages. Joining is free and you set your own fee.

Who asks for science tutors in Meerut

UP Board students are a large group. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad prescribes courses and textbooks for High School and conducts the examination, and it has had a regional office in Meerut since 1973. Students study science in Hindi or English medium, and the vocabulary gap between the two is wide: 'prakash ka apvartan' and refraction of light are the same chapter, but a student who knows only one term can be thrown by the other. Explain in whichever language helps, then have the student write answers in the exam medium using the textbook's own words. Check every syllabus and notice on upmsp.edu.in.

In Classes 9 and 10 the pressure points are similar across boards: balancing chemical equations, acids, bases and salts, metals and non-metals, carbon compounds, life processes and control and coordination, heredity, light with ray diagrams, and electricity with series and parallel numericals. CBSE students work from NCERT, and their board paper includes case-based and assertion-reason questions; the sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in are what practice should be marked against. ICSE students take physics, chemistry and biology as separate papers, write long answers and are tested on practical knowledge, so they may want one tutor for all three or a specialist for one.

Classes 6 to 8 bring requests of a different kind. Parents notice a child learning definitions by rote, or avoiding numericals, and want the subject made concrete before High School or Class 10. These years reward tutors who use simple demonstrations, careful drawing and plenty of questions, because foundations in units, measurement, matter and living systems decide how comfortable the board years will be. A few IGCSE science students in Meerut also look for help, usually online.

Where in Meerut the work is

Central Meerut is the easiest starting point: Begumpul, Meerut Central, Bhaisali and Brahmapuri stations and the Bhainsali bus stand let you reach Saket, Begum Bagh, Thapar Nagar and Brahmpuri without a vehicle, and the streets around Sadar Bazaar and Rajban Bazaar are crowded enough in the evening that arriving by metro and walking often beats riding in. North Meerut (Roorkee Road) has Meerut North, Daurli and Modipuram stations for Pallavpuram, Shradhapuri, Sainik Vihar, Kanker Khera, Daurli and Modipuram; Kanker Khera's inner lanes are narrow, easier on a two-wheeler.

South Meerut (Delhi Road) lines up along Meerut South, Partapur, Rithani and Shatabdi Nagar stations, covering Shatabdi Nagar, Ved Vyas Puri, Rithani and Partapur; Ved Vyas Puri addresses need the phase and sector, and shift traffic near Partapur's industrial estate makes mid-afternoon or weekend teaching steadier. East Meerut (Garh Road and Ganga Nagar) has no station, so plan on road travel to Shastri Nagar, Jagriti Vihar, Lohia Nagar, Ganga Nagar and Rakshapuram, where Jagriti Vihar flats and Ganga Nagar's gated colonies log visitors. For students out of reach, online science works if diagrams are drawn live and redrawn by the student on paper.

What families in Meerut expect

  • Range across physics, chemistry and biology topics to Class 10, or a precise statement of what you cover.
  • Lessons rooted in the student's own book: the UP Board's prescribed text, NCERT, or the CISCE syllabus.
  • Terms in Hindi and English where needed, with answers practised in the exam medium.
  • Repeated practice of labelled diagrams, ray diagrams and circuit diagrams.
  • Numericals worked with units, especially in electricity, motion and light.
  • Practical questions explained step by step: aim, method, observation, precaution.
  • Only safe household demonstrations during home visits.

How to get picked

Use the demo to make one idea click. A coin in a cup that appears when water is poured in shows refraction; a quick sketch of a series and a parallel circuit, with the student tracing the current, shows why bulbs glow differently. Then set one board-style question on the same idea and mark it the way the board would. Meerut parents comparing two or three tutors usually pick the one whose explanation the child can repeat back afterwards.

Be precise on your profile: 'Science, Classes 6–10, UP Board and CBSE, Hindi and English medium' or 'ICSE Physics and Chemistry, Classes 9–10'. List the colonies you reach, say if you travel along the metro line, and add your after-school hours and online option. Families see your fee before the free demo. Short chapter tests every few weeks, with results shared with the parent, keep a family confident through the year.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Do Meerut UP Board students study science in Hindi?

Many do, and others study in English. A request usually says which. Teach in whatever helps understanding, but make sure answers are written in the exam medium with the textbook's terms.

Which science chapters need the most practice in Class 10?

Chemical equations, carbon compounds, heredity, ray diagrams and electricity numericals tend to need repeated work on most boards. Confirm the current syllabus on upmsp.edu.in or cbseacademic.nic.in before planning.

Can I reach science students in East Meerut by metro?

No. East Meerut has no station, so Shastri Nagar, Jagriti Vihar, Lohia Nagar, Ganga Nagar and Rakshapuram are reached by road. List them only if you can get there reliably before Garh Road's evening rush.

Do ICSE families in Meerut want separate physics, chemistry and biology tutors?

Some do. ICSE sets the three sciences as separate papers, so a family may want one tutor for all or a specialist for one. State exactly which papers you teach.

Is it worth taking Classes 6–8 science students?

Yes, if you like building understanding from basics. Families ask when a child is learning by rote, and solid foundations in these years make the board years much smoother.

How do I keep online science lessons exam-focused?

Draw diagrams live on a shared whiteboard, then have the student redraw them on paper and show the camera. Work numericals step by step with units, and end each session with one board-style question.
