What home tuition costs in Meerut

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Science home tutor in Meerut, Classes 6 to 10: the same four units, two different papers

A Class 10 student in Meerut on the UP Board and a cousin on CBSE study units with almost the same names: chemical substances, the world of living, natural phenomena and the effects of current. Yet one writes a 70-mark paper with an OMR section and the other an 80-mark paper with case studies, and the marks per unit differ. Below Class 10, the job is different again: turning curiosity into precise words, labelled sketches and the first numericals. NXTutors looks at your child's class, board, medium and colony, then suggests two or three science tutors. Fees are on the shortlist from the start, and the first lesson is a free demo.

What should a science tutor focus on from Class 6 to Class 10?

Aaditya Kashyap writes the CBSE and ICSE science guidance on this page. What a family needs from a tutor shifts almost every year between Class 6 and Class 10:

Science tuition in Meerut by class: the tutor's task and a sign that it is working
ClassTutor's taskSign it is working
6–7Activities from the Curiosity books (or the school's own reader) retold in exact words with a neat sketchYour child says "evaporation", not "the water went away"
8Three sciences begin to pull apart; first numericals and word equationsNo number is left without its unit
9A sharp rise in difficulty: graphs of motion, matter and the cell togetherWeak topics are cleared before the next test, not after
10Each chapter taught towards the board paper of your child's boardTimed sections done at home under exam conditions

Up to Class 10, a single tutor for physics, chemistry and biology tends to serve a child well: one person can tell whether a repeated slip in a numerical is about the arithmetic or the science. The national science home tutor page sets out how we match, and we also have pages for a Class 6 science tutor and a Class 8 science tutor.

How do UP Board and CBSE weight Class 10 science?

The two boards share most unit names, so a tutor who knows one can adapt to the other, provided the weights and the paper's shape are respected.

School-level marks30, from a practical exam20, from internal assessmentSee the practical section below

On the UP Board, a student passes with at least 23 of the 70 and 10 of the 30. CBSE's internal 20 comes in four equal parts of 5: periodic tests, multiple assessment, a portfolio, and subject enrichment through practical work. Our UP Board tutor in Meerut page covers the board's other subjects.

What does the UP Board High School science paper look like?

The board's model paper for science is in two sections. Section A is made up of multiple-choice questions of one mark each, shaded on an OMR sheet. Section B asks for written answers. Both sections are divided into three sub-sections, and in Section B each sub-section has to be finished in one go, beginning on a new page.

That layout suggests three habits a tutor can build long before the exam. First, decide an OMR answer fully before shading it, since the sheet does not forgive second thoughts. Second, finish one sub-section of Section B before moving to the next, in the order the paper sets. Third, practise starting each sub-section on a new page so it becomes automatic. The model paper we read is printed in Hindi, so a child who writes in Hindi should have a tutor who teaches the scientific terms in Hindi and English together, and who marks answers in the language the child will use in the hall.

CBSE Class 10: question types, thinking skills and school-assessed topics

CBSE's 2026-27 sample paper runs to 39 questions. Read from the front, it moves from a block of twenty single marks (options and assertion–reason pairs) through six questions of two marks and seven of three, to three four-mark items built around a passage or data and, at the end, three five-mark answers. By skill, recall and understanding take 50% of the marks, applying ideas 30%, and analysing or evaluating the remaining 20%.

Some content is still taught in Class 10 but marked only in school, never on the board paper: the electric motor with electromagnetic induction and the generator, the evolution topic, and how the periodic table arranges elements. A tutor should cover them properly, as Class 11 builds on them, while keeping board revision for the rest. The syllabus names 14 experiments that board questions can draw on. All students take the main exam; those eligible may sit a second, optional one to raise their marks in up to three subjects, and no 2027 dates are out yet. Chapter notes are in our CBSE Class 10 science notes, month-by-month planning is in the board-year planner, and the Class 10 science tutor page describes the match.

Has Class 9 science changed on CBSE?

It has. Class 9 now uses NCERT's newer textbook, Exploration, under the 2026-27 curriculum, with the usual 80 plus 20 for the year. Matter carries 27 of the 80, the world of living 25, the unit on motion, force, work and sound 23, and the earth unit 5. Older notes inherited from a sibling were written for the previous book, so a tutor should work from the new chapters instead. More on the Class 9 science tutor page.

What about ICSE science?

ICSE splits Class 10 science into three papers, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and each carries internal marks. Because every school chooses its own books inside the CISCE syllabus, the tutor should teach from the books in your child's bag and practise on CISCE specimen papers. Precise definitions and fully worked numericals are what ICSE examiners reward. A child may need help with just one paper, often starting in Class 9. Fewer tutors in the city teach ICSE science, so say so in your first message; online lessons widen the pool.

Can a home tutor help with practical and internal marks?

More than parents expect, even though the apparatus stays at school. For a UP Board student, 30 of the 100 marks come from the practical exam, so the tutor can go over the aim, method, observations and precautions of each experiment, check the practical notebook and ask the kind of short questions an examiner might. For a CBSE student, the 14 listed experiments feed board questions as well as the internal marks, so each one should be understood well enough to explain in writing. In both cases a neat, labelled diagram is half the battle.

Which arrangements help in six Meerut colonies?

A science lesson for Classes 6 to 10 usually sits between school and dinner, so the tutor's trip has to be short and predictable. Browse every locality on our Meerut page.

Five signs of a good science demo

  1. The current chapter. The tutor teaches what the school is doing now, from your child's own book.
  2. Diagrams unprompted. A ray diagram, a circuit with standard symbols or a labelled organ appears without being asked for.
  3. Equations balanced. Chemical equations come carry state symbols if asked, and a cross in heredity is written out step by step.
  4. Words that match the paper. Terms are given in the language your child will write in, with the English term alongside.
  5. Homework with a purpose. You know what has been set and when it will be checked.

If the fit is poor, another tutor on your shortlist comes for a demo, and switching later is free too. The demo class checklist for parents adds more questions.

What does a science home tutor in Meerut cost?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own rates. A Class 10 board year generally sits above Classes 6 to 8, and the journey to your colony and how many lessons you book each week also shape the figure. All fees appear on the shortlist before you meet anyone; the Meerut home tuition fees article explains more.

Science Home Tutor in Meerut: common questions

What does a science home tutor in Meerut charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors fix their own rates, and the shortlist shows each fee before you book a demo.

How is UP Board High School science marked?

Out of 100: a 70-mark written paper and a 30-mark practical exam, with 23 and 10 needed to pass. The written units are chemical substances 20, world of living 20, effects of current 13, natural phenomena 12 and natural resources 5, so chemistry and biology together carry most of the paper.

What is different about the UP Board science paper layout?

Section A is one-mark multiple-choice questions shaded on an OMR sheet; Section B wants written answers. Both sections come in three sub-sections, and each Section B sub-section must be answered together, starting on a new page. A tutor can rehearse that order on model papers until it feels natural.

Do you have science tutors who teach in Hindi?

We look for them whenever a family asks. The UP Board model paper we read is set in Hindi, so many High School students need a tutor who explains terms in Hindi with the English word alongside. Mention the medium in your request so the shortlist reflects it.

Which CBSE Class 10 science topics are marked only by the school?

For 2026-27, the electric motor, electromagnetic induction and the generator, the evolution topic, and the arrangement of elements in the periodic table are assessed in school, not on the board paper. They still count internally and return in Class 11, so they should be taught properly rather than skipped.

Can a science tutor reach a home in Modipuram or Sainik Vihar?

Often, yes. Modipuram has a station serving the Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat, and Daurli station is the nearest stop for Sainik Vihar, so a tutor can ride the line and finish by auto. Share the pocket and house number, and allow spare time on the first visit.

Is one tutor enough for physics, chemistry and biology up to Class 10?

Usually it is. Before Class 11, one science tutor sees the whole picture and can tell whether a numerical goes wrong because of the arithmetic or the concept. Separate specialists make more sense in Classes 11 and 12, or for one ICSE paper where a child needs extra help.

Can a home tutor help with practical marks?

Yes, though the apparatus stays at school. A tutor can go over each experiment's aim, method, observations and precautions, check the practical notebook, and ask the short questions an examiner might. That matters most on the UP Board, where the practical exam is worth 30 of the 100 marks.
