What home tuition costs in Meerut

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE and ISC home tutors in Meerut: a wide syllabus, covered in passes, written with care

CISCE, the council behind ICSE at Class 10 and ISC at Class 12, is one of the three school routes Meerut families weigh. Its demands are broad rather than narrow: a long list of subjects, each examined in writing, with internal work running through the year, and that breadth is where a home tutor earns their place. This page sets out how the ICSE subjects are grouped and weighted, how the maths and science papers work, a way to cover the syllabus in three passes, the ISC rules that catch families out, and how tutors reach six Meerut localities. Maths notes reflect the roles of Abhinandan Tiwary (Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths) and Ajay Vatsyayan (IB, IGCSE and ISC maths); science notes reflect the role of Aaditya Kashyap (CBSE and ICSE science).

Where CISCE fits among Meerut's boards

Our Meerut home tutors page describes the city's three main school routes: the UP Board, CBSE, and CISCE's ICSE and ISC, with a smaller number of children on IB or IGCSE. We do not publish figures for each and will not guess them. What matters for tuition is that a CISCE child is examined in a different way: long written answers, separate papers for each science, and internal assessment in almost every subject. A tutor used to other boards can teach the content, but should be asked directly how they handle CISCE's paper style.

How the Class 10 subjects are grouped and weighted

ICSE groups under the CISCE regulations, and what each means for tuition
GroupWhat the student takesFinal paper to internalTuition note
Group ICompulsory: English, a second language, and History, Civics and Geography80 to 20Writing practice pays across all three; history and geography need regular recall, not a late cram
Group IITwo or three from subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, a modern foreign or classical language, Environmental Science80 to 20Each is a full written paper; list which ones your child finds hard before the demo
Group IIIOne applied subject, for example Computer Applications, Economic Applications, Commercial Applications, Art, Physical Education, Robotics and AI50 to 50Half the marks come from work through the year, so project deadlines matter as much as the paper

The maths paper and the three science papers

Mathematics is one 80-mark paper plus 20 internal marks from at least two assignments, each marked by the school's teacher and by an external examiner. Commercial topics such as banking and shares sit beside algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, and the paper expects every step to be shown. Abhinandan Tiwary's role covers this Class 10 paper; a tutor in that role spends as much time on clear layout as on method.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three separate 80-mark papers, each with 20 internal marks for practical work. Doing well in one does not lift the other two. Aaditya Kashyap's role covers CBSE and ICSE science; the practical advice is to ask whether one tutor will take all three or whether the subject lagging behind needs its own specialist. CISCE also releases a subject-wise Analysis of Pupil Performance after each exam season, showing where candidates lost marks; a tutor should use it next to the specimen papers.

Covering the syllabus in three passes

The usual ICSE problem is not difficulty but volume: early chapters fade while new ones arrive. Planning the year as three passes keeps everything in reach.

A three-pass plan for an ICSE or ISC year
PassWhenWhat the tutor does
First pass: learnAlongside school, chapter by chapterTeach and practise each chapter as school reaches it; keep a running list of weak topics
Second pass: connectAfter about half the syllabus is doneMixed questions across finished chapters; written answers timed and marked; internal work checked
Third pass: performThe final stretch before the boardSpecimen papers, the Analysis of Pupil Performance, and short revision cycles on the weak list

ISC in Classes 11 and 12: rules to know early

  • English is compulsory, with three to five electives, and no more than six subjects in all.
  • Subject choice is fixed early in Class 11, and any Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11, so choose carefully at the start.
  • Promotion to Class 12 needs 35% in four subjects including English, and 75% attendance.
  • Practical examinations are compulsory where a subject has them, and Physics cannot be paired with Engineering Science.
  • Results are graded 1 to 9; a pass certificate needs four subjects including English, plus Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service.

ISC maths: theory plus a project

ISC Mathematics has an 80-mark theory paper and 20 marks of project work in both Class 11 and Class 12. Ajay Vatsyayan's role at NXTutors covers ISC maths alongside IB and IGCSE. For tuition, the project should be started in the first term rather than finished in a rush, and theory practice should mix routine questions with longer ones that need several steps written out. Our ISC maths tutor page goes further, and the maths home tutors in Meerut page covers other boards.

Class 6 to Class 12 on the CISCE route

The CISCE years for a Meerut student and the tutor's focus
ClassesTutor's focus
6 to 8Reading and written English, arithmetic fluency, and the habit of full sentences in science and social studies
9Separate physics, chemistry and biology begin in earnest; choose the Group III subject with care
10Three passes through the syllabus, internal assignments on time, specimen papers
11ISC electives fixed early; the step up in maths and the sciences
12Projects and practicals finished, then revision in rounds; entrance preparation alongside if needed

After Class 10: ISC, CBSE or UP Board?

Some ICSE students in Meerut stay with ISC, others move to CBSE or the UP Board for Classes 11 and 12, often with an entrance exam in mind. ISC keeps the long-answer habit and its project work; CBSE puts NCERT at the centre, close to the NTA syllabus; the UP Board teaches from its own prescribed textbooks, in Hindi or English. Whichever way your child goes, the first weeks after the move should go on the new board's books and answer style. See our CBSE and UP Board pages for Meerut, the board and stream guide, and our JEE and NEET pages.

How ICSE tutors reach six localities

Six Meerut localities, by zone, and what to share with the tutor
LocalityZoneGetting there and what to share
RakshapuramEast MeerutBy two-wheeler or auto; phase, sector and house number
SaketCentral MeerutFrom most directions by road; for a flat, the floor and whether there is a lift
Begum BaghCentral MeerutCentral bus routes and the underground stations open since 22 February 2026; a clear landmark
BrahmpuriCentral MeerutBrahmapuri elevated station, open since 22 February 2026; the house number and a junction landmark
Shatabdi NagarSouth MeerutIts own Namo Bharat and Metro station since 22 February 2026; sector, tower and gate registration
RithaniSouth MeerutRithani station on the old Delhi road, open since 22 February 2026; a main-road landmark

Homes in North Meerut along the Roorkee road are covered on their own zone page, and the Meerut home tuition guide explains timing and travel zone by zone. ICSE and ISC specialists in a given subject can be few in any one area, so an online tutor is often worth considering; see online tutors for Meerut and our home or online tutor comparison.

Home or online for ICSE and ISC?

Home suits younger children, any student who drifts on a screen, and subjects where the tutor needs to watch the working: Class 10 maths, physics numericals, chemistry equations and the layout of long answers. Online suits a narrow ISC elective whose specialist lives across the city or in another one, quick checks on English writing and history dates, and weeks when school projects leave no room for a home visit. Many families settle on the same tutor doing both: one visit at home for new work and written practice, with a shorter online session to mark homework and clear doubts. Whatever the mix, ask the tutor to keep a single notebook or shared file of marked answers, so you can see the writing improve over a term.

Checking a tutor against the CISCE style

  1. Ask which ICSE or ISC classes and subjects the tutor has taught recently.
  2. Ask them to mark one of your child's written answers the way an examiner would, and explain each deduction.
  3. Ask how they use specimen papers and the Analysis of Pupil Performance.
  4. Ask how they will keep internal assignments, projects and practical records on schedule.
  5. Ask which route they will take and what happens on a day when travel fails.

The demo class checklist lists more questions, and our ICSE board guide explains the council's papers in more depth. If the first tutor is not right, we arrange another demo, and switching later is free.

Fees and getting started

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, shown to you before the demo. See the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Meerut.

ICSE Home Tutor in Meerut (ICSE & ISC, Classes 6–12): common questions

Is it possible to get an ICSE or ISC home tutor for a child in a Meerut CISCE school?

Yes, NXTutors matches ICSE and ISC home tutors in Meerut once you send the class, the subjects and electives, your colony with its phase or sector, and suitable times. You receive two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class, and book a free demo. Switching tutor later is free.

Why does ICSE in Meerut feel heavier than the UP Board or CBSE?

ICSE feels heavier for Meerut students because of breadth, not difficulty: many subjects, each a full written paper, with internal work all year. Group I and II subjects split 80 to 20 between paper and internal marks, and the Group III applied subject splits 50 to 50, so project deadlines matter.

How are ICSE Class 10 maths internal marks earned by a Meerut student?

A Meerut ICSE Class 10 student earns the 20 internal maths marks from at least two assignments, each marked by the school's teacher and an external examiner. The 80-mark paper mixes banking and shares with algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, and expects every step shown, so layout matters as much as method.

Which ISC rules should a Meerut family check before Class 11 subject choice?

A Meerut family should know that ISC needs English plus three to five electives, six subjects at most, and every Class 12 subject studied in Class 11. Promotion needs 35% in four subjects including English and 75% attendance. Physics cannot be paired with Engineering Science, and practicals are compulsory where a subject has them.

Can a tutor used to UP Board or CBSE teach an ICSE child in Meerut?

A Meerut tutor from the UP Board or CBSE can teach ICSE content, but ask how they handle CISCE's style. That style means long written answers, separate papers for each science and internal assessment in almost every subject. At the demo, ask them to mark one written answer as an examiner would.

After ICSE in Meerut, should my child stay with ISC or move to CBSE or the UP Board?

After ICSE, a Meerut student can stay with ISC to keep long answers and project work, or move to CBSE, which centres on NCERT close to the NTA syllabus. The UP Board teaches from its own textbooks in Hindi or English. Whatever the move, spend the first weeks on the new board's books and answer style.

Is CISCE tuition at home in Meerut priced differently from other boards?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Meerut ICSE or ISC tutor sets their own fee, which you see before the demo.

How can a Meerut ICSE student keep a huge syllabus from fading before the boards?

A Meerut ICSE student can cover the syllabus in three passes: learn, connect and perform. Learn each chapter as school reaches it, connect finished chapters with timed mixed questions, then perform with specimen papers. CISCE's Analysis of Pupil Performance, released after each exam season, shows where candidates lost marks and suits the last stretch.

Should one Meerut tutor teach all three ICSE sciences, or separate specialists?

For Meerut ICSE students, one tutor can teach physics, chemistry and biology, but a lagging subject may need its own specialist. Each science is a separate 80-mark paper with 20 internal practical marks, and doing well in one does not lift the other two, so decide by which subject is falling behind.

Do ICSE tutors reach Saket, Shatabdi Nagar or Rithani in Meerut?

Yes, ICSE tutors reach central and south Meerut, including Saket, Begum Bagh, Brahmpuri, Shatabdi Nagar and Rithani, plus Rakshapuram in the east. Shatabdi Nagar and Rithani have stations open since 22 February 2026. In Shatabdi Nagar share sector and tower and register the tutor at the gate.

For ICSE or ISC in Meerut, which subjects suit home lessons and which suit online?

In Meerut, home ICSE lessons suit younger children, Class 10 maths, physics numericals and long-answer layout, where the tutor watches the working. Online suits a narrow ISC elective whose specialist lives elsewhere, quick English or history checks, and busy project weeks. Many families mix one home visit with a shorter online session.
