What home tuition costs in Meerut

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics home tutor in Meerut: two parts of 35 marks, one practical, and an entrance exam on the side

Senior physics in Meerut usually means more than one target. A UP Board Intermediate student faces a 70-mark paper split into two equal parts and a 30-mark practical; a CBSE student a 70-mark paper with case studies; and many in both groups are also aiming at JEE or NEET. The chapters overlap, the scoring does not. A home physics tutor's value lies in knowing which rules your child is playing by this month, and in reaching your colony at an hour that fits around school and coaching. NXTutors suggests two or three physics tutors on that basis, shows their fees on the shortlist, and makes the opening lesson a free demo.

Which of five physics targets matters most for your child?

Physics targets for Meerut students in Classes 11 and 12: how each is scored and what a home tutor should stress
TargetScoringStress in home lessons
UP Board Intermediate70-mark paper in two parts of 35, plus a 30-mark practical; 23 and 10 to passOptics and the electricity chapters, written out in full
CBSE Class 12 (042)70-mark theory with 33 compulsory questions, plus 30 practicalDerivations, ray diagrams and reading case-based passages
JEE Main (2026 pattern)25 physics questions, 5 of them with a numerical answer; +4 right, −1 wrongMulti-step problems under time, then every error reviewed
JEE AdvancedIn 2026, open to the leading 2,50,000 JEE Main candidatesQuestions that join two or three ideas; past Advanced papers
NEET (UG), 2026 pattern45 physics questions of 180, worth 180 of 720 marks; +4 right, −1 wrongNCERT-level accuracy and fewer guesses

Entrance syllabi are published by the conducting body and can include topics a school board has dropped, so check the latest bulletin on nta.ac.in before removing anything from the plan. Our JEE physics plan by topic and the NEET physics chapters worth extra time help with priorities; the physics tutor for JEE and physics tutor for NEET pages explain the match, as do our JEE and NEET pages for Meerut.

How are the 70 marks set out in UP Board Class 12 physics?

The board divides the theory syllabus into two halves of equal weight. Part A is the electricity and magnetism half; Part B covers optics and modern physics.

UP Board Intermediate physics, Class 12: unit marks in Part A and Part B, with the habit each rewards
PartUnitMarksHabit that pays
AElectrostatics8Field and potential sketches before any formula
ACurrent electricity7Circuits redrawn neatly before the junction and loop rules are applied
AMagnetic effect of current and magnetism8Direction rules stated in words alongside the diagram
AElectromagnetic induction and alternating current8Phasor sketches and units on every line
AElectromagnetic waves4Short, sure answers on the spectrum
BOptics13Ray diagrams with arrows and sign conventions written out
BAtoms and nuclei; electronic devices8 eachClean definitions and labelled circuit symbols
BDual nature of radiation and matter6Photoelectric graphs read and drawn correctly

Optics alone is worth 13, more than any other unit, so it deserves a steady share of the year rather than a rush before the exam. The model paper has five sections and is printed in Hindi; a student who writes in Hindi should have a tutor who teaches terms and derivations in Hindi with the English word next to them. A passing score needs 23 in theory and 10 in the practical. The UP Board tutor in Meerut page covers the board as a whole.

Why does UP Board Class 11 physics deserve a tutor too?

Class 11 sets up everything that follows. Its 70 theory marks also come in two parts of 35. Part A gives 6 to kinematics and 7 each to the laws of motion, work, energy and power, rigid bodies and systems of particles, and gravitation, with 1 for the physical world and measurement. Part B gives 10 each to the properties of bulk matter and to oscillations and waves, 9 to thermodynamics and 6 to ideal gases and kinetic theory. Another 30 marks come from practical work. Vectors, graphs and free-body diagrams learned in this year come back throughout Class 12 and in every entrance paper, so gaps here are far easier to close now. The physics tutor for Class 11 page and our stream choice guide say more.

What does the CBSE Class 12 physics paper reward?

CBSE groups its fourteen NCERT chapters into four marking blocks for 2026-27: electricity and magnetism 33, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, dual nature with atoms and nuclei 12, and semiconductor electronics 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer in the syllabus, so older notes that include them can be set aside.

The paper has 33 compulsory questions. Section A opens with sixteen one-mark items (twelve with options and four assertion–reason), Section B has five two-mark questions, C seven three-mark ones, D two case studies of four, and E three long answers of five. Only about 38% of the marks reward recall; the constants are printed on the paper and calculators stay outside the hall. Class 12 has one main board exam, and its 2027 dates are awaited on cbse.gov.in. Our Class 12 physics strategies collect the derivations that keep coming back, and the tutor page for Class 12 physics shows a year plan.

Thirty practical marks: what can be prepared at home?

Both boards keep 30 marks for practical work, and coaching classes rarely touch them. CBSE gives 14 to the two experiments on the day, 5 each to the record and the viva, and 3 each to an activity and the investigatory project, and the record should hold at least eight experiments and six activities. UP Board students sit a 30-mark practical of their own.

The apparatus never leaves school, but a tutor at home can go through the record page by page (aim, labelled diagram, table of readings), talk through the precautions and likely errors in each experiment, and hold a practice viva: why take several readings, what the slope of a graph means, why a meter bridge needs the null point near the middle.

If your child already attends coaching, what is the home tutor for?

Teaching the same chapter twice wastes the hour. The home lesson earns its place by doing what a large batch cannot:

  • Working through the leftovers. Problems copied from the board without understanding, or abandoned halfway, are taken one by one until each can be solved cold.
  • Protecting the school paper. Board marks need full derivations, labelled diagrams and practical preparation, none of which entrance coaching prioritises.
  • Reading test results. Every lost mark in a mock is tagged as a concept gap, a careless slip or a question that should have been skipped, and next week's plan follows from the tags.

A shared doubt notebook keeps this honest: the question, the student's first attempt left as it was, one line on what went wrong, and a fresh solution written days later. Bring it, or the two latest test papers, to the demo. We compare JEE coaching and a home tutor in one article and do the same for NEET in another.

Late-evening physics in six Meerut colonies

Class 11 and 12 students often get home late, which pushes lessons into the evening. Whether the slot holds depends on the tutor's route. Every locality is listed on our Meerut page.

Stations on the Roorkee road

Daurli has its own station, so a tutor can arrive by metro without a vehicle; apartment buildings on the main road usually register visitors, so do it once and share the tower and flat. Modipuram, where the Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat lines end in the north, is reached by train and a short auto ride. Pallavpuram is served by Meerut North station; give the phase and pocket letter, as house numbers repeat.

Lanes and sectors further in

Kanker Khera has narrow inner lanes where a two-wheeler beats a car; name a landmark on the main road. In Jagriti Vihar, off Garh Road, many families live in multistorey flats, so leave the tutor's name at the gate and quote sector, block and flat. Lohia Nagar is laid out in lettered sectors and pockets with mostly independent houses; the tutor comes to the door and parks outside.

The Garh Road side has no station, so a tutor living nearby is the dependable choice there. When coaching overruns, switching that evening to an online hour with the same tutor saves a late trip across the city.

ISC, IB and IGCSE physics

  • ISC: CISCE assesses practical work and a project alongside the theory paper, and expects reasoning set out more fully than a one-line answer. Confirm that the tutor teaches the syllabus for your exam year.
  • IB Diploma: the syllabus now sits under five themes, labelled A to E, without options or a Paper 3. Written exams decide 80% of the final grade; the remaining 20% is an investigation that the student plans and writes up independently. IB suggests 150 teaching hours for SL and 240 for HL. See our IB physics SL and HL guide.
  • Cambridge IGCSE: taken at Core or Extended. A student who then joins Class 11 on an Indian board usually needs extra work on vectors and graphs.

Teachers for these courses are fewer in Meerut, so an online specialist is often part of the answer.

What to ask a physics tutor at the free demo

  1. Can you look at my child's last test and tell me the weakest step before teaching anything?
  2. How will you split the week between the board paper and the entrance exam?
  3. What will a full answer to a derivation look like, in the language my child writes?
  4. How will you prepare the practical record and the viva?
  5. What should be finished by the end of this term?

Clear answers to these are a good sign. If the tutor is not right, the next one on your shortlist comes for a demo, and a later change is free as well.

What does a physics home tutor in Meerut charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets a rate, which tends to follow the target (board, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET), the tutor's experience with it, how late the trip to your colony is and the lessons booked per week. Online lessons with the same tutor may be priced differently. Every fee is on your shortlist before the demo; see also home tuition fees in Meerut.

Sending a physics request

Tell us the class, the board, the main goal (board paper, JEE or NEET), the coaching days if any, your colony with a landmark and the evenings still free. A shortlist of two or three physics tutors comes back with fees, and you choose whom to meet for the free demo. If nobody suitable can come at that hour, an online or part-online plan is offered. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). NXTutors has its office in Sector 66, Gurugram; our national physics home tutor page covers other cities.

Physics Home Tutor in Meerut: common questions

How much does a physics home tutor in Meerut charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. The rate is the tutor's own, and your shortlist shows it before any demo is booked.

How is UP Board Class 12 physics divided?

Into a 70-mark theory paper and a 30-mark practical, with 23 and 10 needed to pass. The theory has two parts of 35: Part A covers electrostatics, current, magnetism, induction with alternating current and electromagnetic waves; Part B covers optics, dual nature, atoms and nuclei, and electronic devices. Optics alone carries 13.

Is Class 11 physics on the UP Board worth tuition?

Yes, for most students aiming at science after school. Class 11 builds kinematics, laws of motion, work and energy, gravitation, thermodynamics and waves, and these ideas return throughout Class 12 and in JEE and NEET. Gaps closed in Class 11 cost far less effort than gaps found in the board year.

My child attends JEE coaching. What would a home physics tutor add?

Different work, not a repeat. The tutor clears coaching problems left unfinished, keeps board answers and practical preparation on track, and sorts each mark lost in a mock into a concept gap, a slip or a question to skip. That turns a crowded coaching week into a plan.

Can a physics tutor come to Daurli or Modipuram in the evening?

Often, yes. Both have stations on the Meerut Metro line, and Modipuram is also on Namo Bharat, so a tutor can ride the line and walk or take an auto. Register the tutor once at a society gate and share the tower and flat number before the first lesson.

How much of CBSE Class 12 physics is recall?

About 38% of the 70 theory marks. The rest needs application and analysis across 33 compulsory questions, from one-mark items to five-mark long answers. Constants are printed on the paper and calculators are not allowed, so a tutor should train careful arithmetic alongside derivations and ray diagrams.

Can practical marks really be prepared at home?

Partly. The apparatus stays at school, but both the UP Board and CBSE keep 30 marks for practical work, and much of that rests on a tidy record, known precautions, error sources and a confident viva. A tutor can check every record entry and rehearse likely viva questions.

Do you find physics tutors for ISC, IB or IGCSE in Meerut?

We look for them, though they are fewer than CBSE or UP Board teachers. Name the course and exam year in your request. If nobody suitable can travel to your colony, an online specialist can teach the course while a local tutor helps with written practice.
