Chemistry home tutor in Meerut: seven questions on the UP Board, ten chapters on CBSE, and NEET or JEE behind both

A Class 12 chemistry student in Meerut can be revising for three different examiners in one week. The UP Board Intermediate paper asks just seven questions; the CBSE paper fixes marks chapter by chapter; and NEET or JEE expect quick, exact recall under negative marking. What usually goes missing is the written reasoning boards reward and the careful numericals that cost marks when hurried. A home tutor can hold those together. We put forward two or three chemistry tutors who match the board and can travel to your colony; fees are on the shortlist, and the opening class is a free demo.

How is the UP Board Class 12 chemistry paper built?

UP Board's Class 12 chemistry syllabus describes a 70-mark written paper of seven questions. The first is a set of six multiple-choice items worth one mark each. After that come questions of two, three, four and five marks, so the paper climbs steadily from quick recall to longer written answers. At least 8 marks must come from numerical questions.

Three things follow for a tutor. Numericals cannot be left to the end of the year, since a fixed share of the paper depends on them; mole concept, solutions, electrochemistry and kinetics need weekly practice with units on every line. Long answers reward a clear order: equation, conditions, explanation, and a labelled structure where one fits. And a student writing in Hindi needs a tutor who uses the same terms as the prescribed book, with the English names alongside for entrance work. For the rest of the board's scheme, the official website is the reference; our UP Board tutor in Meerut page covers its other subjects.

Board, NEET or JEE: how does chemistry count in each?

Chemistry in the exams a Meerut Class 12 student may face, and what each one rewards
ExamChemistry's placeRewards
UP Board IntermediateSeven-question, 70-mark paper with at least 8 marks of numericalsOrdered written answers and sound arithmetic
CBSE Class 12 (043)70-mark theory paper with 33 compulsory questions, plus 30 for practicalsReasons in one clear line, balanced equations, clean numericals
NEET (UG), 2026 patternA quarter of the 180 questions (45), worth 180 of the 720 marks, answered with pen and paperExact NCERT statements recalled quickly
JEE Main 2026, Paper 125 of 75 questions: 20 with options, 5 with a numerical answerMechanisms and multi-step physical chemistry

In 2026, both NTA exams gave four marks for a right answer and took one away for a wrong one; NTA reissues the pattern every year. For reading, try the NEET chemistry chapters that matter most, our JEE chemistry guide by branch, the NEET chemistry tutor page, and our NEET home tutor in Meerut page.

How are CBSE Class 12 chemistry marks spread by branch?

CBSE attaches a fixed mark to each of the ten theory chapters for 2026-27, and the paper keeps last session's design. Add the chapters up by branch and organic chemistry comes to 33, physical to 23 and inorganic to 14.

CBSE Class 12 chemistry, 2026-27: the ten chapters grouped by branch, with marks
Branch (total)Chapters and marksWhat to practise
Organic (33)Amines 6; haloalkanes and haloarenes 6; alcohols, phenols and ethers 6; biomolecules 7; the carbonyl chapter (aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids) 8Conversions as chains of steps; distinguishing tests; basicity order
Physical (23)Chemical kinetics 7; solutions 7; electrochemistry 9Cell, conductance, colligative and rate numericals with units
Inorganic (14)Coordination compounds 7; the d- and f-block chapter 7Trends with one reason each; naming and isomers

Students get three hours and five sections, lettered A to E, and a handful of questions offer an internal choice. Neither a calculator nor log tables may be used. Only about 40% of the marks reward recall and understanding; the majority need the student to apply an idea, analyse data or judge between options. A chapter-wise treatment is in our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide, and the chemistry tutor for Class 12 page outlines a board year.

Which topics has CBSE removed, and do they still matter for entrance exams?

The 2026-27 Class 12 syllabus no longer includes the solid state or the p-block chapter's Groups 15 to 18. Another four topics are still taught yet marked internally, never on the board paper: polymers, surface chemistry, chemistry in everyday life and how elements are isolated from their ores. None of that tells a NEET or JEE student what to skip. NTA publishes its own syllabus each year, and it can keep material the board has let go, including parts of the p-block, so compare against that list before trimming revision.

What should one weekly home hour of chemistry look like?

For a student who also attends coaching, the home hour should trail the coaching syllabus by a chapter, never overtake it, and give each branch the attention a crowded class cannot.

  1. Start with physical chemistry, slowly. One or two problems worked line by line while the tutor watches for the lost power of ten or the missing unit, which is where marks quietly leak.
  2. Then the organic map. A one-page chart linking alcohols to carbonyl compounds, acids and amines, redrawn from memory and checked against NCERT. Conversions become routes, not lists.
  3. Then inorganic in short bursts. Quick questions read straight from the textbook, each answered with the reason behind the trend.
  4. End with two board answers. Two short board-style questions asking for reasons, answered and marked on the spot, so school marks keep pace with entrance work.

How much of the practical exam can be prepared at home?

CBSE's 30 practical marks are shared out as follows: 8 for the titration, 8 for identifying a salt, 6 for an experiment tied to the theory syllabus, 4 for the project, and 4 for the record and viva together. For this session the titration is permanganate against either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt (ferrous ammonium sulphate), and every student weighs the solid and makes up the standard solution alone.

No glassware comes home, yet plenty can be rehearsed at the dining table: working out the molarity from the mass weighed, setting out burette readings in a clean table, walking through salt analysis from the first dry tests to the confirmatory ones, picking a project small enough to finish, and answering viva questions such as why permanganate acts as its own indicator. A UP Board student should check the board's website for its practical scheme and keep the record to the same standard.

In the weeks before the pre-boards, an unreliable evening route is a reason to move one visit a week online rather than lose it. The zone guides for North Meerut and East Meerut add detail.

ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry: what to ask for

  • ISC: besides the written paper, CISCE marks practical work and a project. Its examiners look for an explanation, so a tutor should push past one-line textbook answers.
  • IB Diploma: offered at SL and HL, with content arranged under the themes of structure and of reactivity. The investigation belongs to the student; a tutor may question it but must not design or write it.
  • Cambridge IGCSE: entered at Core or Extended; if you are weighing the boards, read our Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE comparison.

Meerut has fewer teachers for these courses than for CBSE or the UP Board, so raise it in your first message. One answer is an online specialist for teaching and a nearby tutor for checking written work.

Why fix chemistry in Class 11?

Most of Class 12 leans on Class 11. Moles, equilibrium and the first organic chapters turn up again inside solutions, electrochemistry and every multi-step conversion, so a weak Class 11 base shows up as lost marks in the board paper and in NEET or JEE alike. Spending a term on those basics now takes less work than patching them during the board year. See the chemistry tutor for Class 11 page, or the national chemistry home tutor page for how we match in other cities.

How much does a chemistry home tutor in Meerut cost?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors quote their own rates, which rise with the exam targeted and their record with it; the evening trip to your colony and the number of weekly lessons matter too. You see each quote on the shortlist before the demo, and the Meerut tuition fees article covers what to ask.

Getting matched

Tell us the class and board, the exam that matters most, which branch keeps losing marks, any coaching days, your colony with a landmark and the evenings that are free. You receive a shortlist of two or three chemistry tutors with fees and pick one for the free demo. Not the right fit? Another tutor from the list comes for a demo, and swapping later is free too. Where nobody suitable can travel to you, online or part-online lessons are the fallback. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID; how we check tutors explains more. Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, with online lessons available nationwide.

Chemistry Home Tutor in Meerut: common questions

What rate do Meerut chemistry home tutors usually quote for Class 12 or entrance work?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Meerut chemistry tutors quote their own rates, which rise with the exam targeted, the evening trip to your colony and the number of weekly lessons.

Which details bring a Meerut family the right shortlist of chemistry tutors?

You receive two or three Meerut chemistry tutors, each fee shown before the first class, once you share the class, board, main exam and colony. Add the branch losing marks, coaching days and free evenings. Pick one for a free demo; if the fit is wrong another tutor comes, and swapping later is free.

How is the UP Board Intermediate chemistry paper set out for Meerut students?

Meerut UP Board Class 12 students sit a 70-mark chemistry paper of seven questions, opening with six one-mark multiple-choice items. Later questions carry two, three, four and five marks, and at least 8 marks must come from numericals, so mole concept, solutions, electrochemistry and kinetics need weekly practice with units on every line.

Which CBSE Class 12 chemistry branch should a Meerut student give the most hours to?

A Meerut CBSE Class 12 student should give organic chemistry the most hours, since it carries 33 of 70 theory marks in 2026-27. Physical carries 23, with electrochemistry the single heaviest chapter at 9, and inorganic 14. The three-hour paper allows no calculator or log tables, and most marks need application, not recall.

Has CBSE removed Class 12 chemistry topics that Meerut NEET or JEE students still need?

Yes, CBSE has removed the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block from Class 12, but Meerut entrance students should not skip them blindly. NTA publishes its own NEET and JEE syllabus, which can keep parts of the dropped p-block. Polymers and surface chemistry are taught but marked only internally.

My Meerut child already attends a NEET batch. What should a home chemistry hour add?

A home chemistry hour in Meerut should trail the coaching syllabus by a chapter and give each branch the attention a crowded class cannot. Work one or two physical numericals line by line, redraw the organic map from memory, run quick inorganic questions with reasons, and end with two board answers marked on the spot.

Can a Meerut student prepare the chemistry practical exam without lab glassware at home?

Yes, a Meerut student can rehearse much of the CBSE chemistry practical at home without glassware. Practise molarity from the weighed mass, a clean burette-reading table, salt analysis from dry to confirmatory tests, a small project and viva answers. The 30 marks split into 8 titration, 8 salt, 6 experiment, 4 project and 4 record and viva.

Do chemistry tutors come to Shradhapuri, Daurli or Jagriti Vihar in Meerut for evening classes?

Yes, chemistry tutors reach Shradhapuri, Sainik Vihar and Daurli on the Roorkee road and Ganga Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Jagriti Vihar around Garh Road in Meerut. Daurli has its own station, so a tutor can come by metro. Around Garh Road, start before the evening peak and leave the tutor's name with the guard.

My Meerut child studies ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry. Will a tutor be hard to find?

Finding one can take longer, because Meerut has fewer ISC, IB and IGCSE chemistry teachers than CBSE or UP Board ones, so mention the course in your first message. ISC marks practical work and a project, IB runs at SL and HL with a student-owned investigation, and IGCSE is entered at Core or Extended.

Should Meerut chemistry lessons stay at home or move online near the pre-boards?

Home lessons suit most Meerut chemistry students because the tutor can watch numericals line by line, but online is the better choice when an evening route becomes unreliable. Before the pre-boards, move one visit a week online rather than lose it. For ISC, IB or IGCSE, an online specialist can teach while a nearby tutor checks written work.

What goes wrong in Class 12 chemistry if Meerut students leave Class 11 moles and equilibrium shaky?

Shaky Class 11 basics resurface for Meerut students in Class 12, because moles, equilibrium and the first organic chapters return inside solutions, electrochemistry and every multi-step conversion. A weak base costs marks in the board paper and in NEET or JEE alike, and a term spent now takes less work than patching it later.
