Now taking on home, online and hybrid tutors · in Rajkot
In Rajkot a maths tutor can reach a surprising share of the city without a car. The BRTS Blue Corridor follows the 150 Feet Ring Road from Madhapar Chowk to Gondal Chowk, with stops such as Raiya Road Circle, Nanamava Circle and Mavdi Circle, and a short auto ride from those stops covers much of the west and south. East of the Aji river, a two-wheeler is the usual answer. Plan your localities around those facts and a weekly round of maths lessons becomes realistic even at evening peak.
No open maths requests in Rajkot right now. New family requests appear here as they come in; join now so they can reach you.
This page is for maths teachers deciding whether to teach in Rajkot, at home, online or both. It covers what GSEB, CBSE and CISCE families ask for in maths, the medium question that comes up in almost every request, how the five zones shape your week, and how to approach the free demo. Families send requests; NXTutors shortlists two or three tutors whose profiles match, nearest first. You set your classes, localities, mode and fee.
GSEB, officially the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board in Gandhinagar, sets the Standard 10 SSC examination and the Standard 12 HSC examination, which runs in General and Science streams. It is also responsible for GUJCET. Its website offers a subject-wise question bank for Standards 9 to 12, a useful official source for practice. Before a demo, confirm the standard, the stream for Standard 12, and whether the student reads maths in Gujarati or English, then follow every notice on gseb.org.
Medium matters more in Rajkot maths than many tutors expect. A Gujarati-medium GSEB student and an English-medium CBSE student in the same standard learn the same mathematics in different words; terms like coefficient, perpendicular or probability need to be matched to the textbook's own vocabulary. CBSE students work from NCERT, with board questions close to its examples and exercises, and in Class 10 choose Standard or Basic mathematics. ICSE and ISC students bring longer written solutions across a broad syllabus.
The city notes say algebra and geometry chapters thicken in Standard 9, with the board year right after, and that Standard 11 is a sharp climb on any board, heaviest in the Science stream. So maths requests cluster around those points: Standard 9 and 10 for algebra, geometry and the SSC or Class 10 paper, and Standards 11 and 12 for functions, calculus, vectors and probability, where HSC Science students may also be thinking about GUJCET. IB and IGCSE maths students are fewer and often learn with an online specialist.
West Rajkot along Kalawad Road and University Road out to Nana Mava and Mota Mava is mostly flats behind gates with limited visitor parking; ask families for their pocket, not just the road. North-West Rajkot, covering Raiya, Raiya Road, Gandhigram and Madhapar, suits bus-plus-auto travel from the Blue Corridor's first stops, though the Jamnagar highway at Madhapar is congested through the day. Central Rajkot, with Race Course, Jagnath Plot and Sadar, is easy to reach but hard to park in when offices close.
South Rajkot packs Bhaktinagar, Mavdi, Gondal Road, Vavdi and Kothariya close together, so a tutor living in Mavdi or Bhaktinagar can build a compact maths round; new blocks in Vavdi and Kothariya often need a shared map pin. East Rajkot, across the Aji, covers Kuvadva Road, Bhagwatipara and Satellite Chowk and suits tutors already living there or near Rajkot Junction. A student on the far side of the river can learn HSC calculus with you online instead.
Rajkot parents check board, standard and medium before anything else, so put them first: "GSEB HSC Science and CBSE Class 11 to 12 maths, Gujarati or English, home visits in Raiya, Raiya Road and Gandhigram". Then name your strongest area, such as SSC algebra and geometry or senior calculus. If you teach online, say so; GSEB students in other Gujarat cities can then find you too.
At the free demo, open the student's textbook rather than your own notes, and solve one problem from the current chapter in the medium they use. Then give a similar problem and watch the working. Show the parent one specific gap you found and how you would close it over the first month. Your fee is already on your profile; the tutor terms page explains how you get paid.
Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.
Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.
A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Not always, but it helps with many GSEB students in Gujarati-medium schools. State your medium on your profile. If you teach in English, you can still help a Gujarati-medium student by matching key terms to their textbook.
Its website, gseb.org, offers a subject-wise question bank for Standards 9 to 12. Use it alongside the prescribed textbook, and take notices and patterns only from that site.
We do not publish counts, but the city notes point to Standard 9, the SSC or Class 10 board year, and Standard 11, the sharpest climb, especially in the Science stream.
In the west and south, often yes. The BRTS Blue Corridor runs along the 150 Feet Ring Road from Madhapar Chowk to Gondal Chowk, and a short auto ride covers the rest. East of the Aji river, plan on an auto or two-wheeler.
Only if you have prepared students for it. GSEB is responsible for GUJCET, so HSC Science families may ask. Take every detail about it from official sources and do not quote dates that have not been announced.
Yes. Online students can be anywhere in Gujarat or India, matched by board, class and subject rather than your address. Home lessons on your side of the city can run in parallel.
