Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. NXTutors arranges home tutors in Hauz Khas Enclave, its neighbouring pockets such as Mayfair Gardens and Padmini Enclave, and the homes around Hauz Khas Village. Give us the block letter plus the class, board and subject. Back come two or three matched tutors and show what each one charges before you choose. The first lesson is a free demo, held at home or online, and replacing a tutor later costs you nothing. Hauz Khas has a metro interchange, quiet plotted blocks and a busy village with evening crowds, and this guide explains how each of those affects a tutor's visit.

Hauz Khas takes its name from the royal water tank that Alauddin Khalji built to serve Siri Fort, and the medieval complex of tank, mosque and tomb still sits at the heart of the area. The modern colony, Hauz Khas Enclave, was developed by DLF in the 1960s as a plotted colony. Its blocks carry the letters A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, K, L, M, P, Q, R, X, Y and Z, and Mayfair Gardens is a small private colony beside Padmini Enclave.
Most homes are builder floors on the original plots, one family per floor, with some flats and independent houses. Listings on RealEstateIndia and Square Yards are dominated by builder floors. For a tutor, that means a short climb or a lift to a single door, a quiet room once inside, and usually a guard at the block rather than a society reception desk.
Hauz Khas is unusually close to big institutions. AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital are near, IIT Delhi, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and NIFT are close by, and several embassies have missions in the area. If your family has moved here for work at one of these places, or on a posting from another city or country, a tutor's first job may be helping your child settle into a new school and, sometimes, a new board.
Hauz Khas Village, the old settlement around the tank, became a boutique quarter from the mid-1980s and a restaurant and café strip from the late 1990s; Wikipedia counts about 50 restaurants, bars and cafés there now. Families who live in or next to the village have a very different evening from those in the inner blocks of the enclave.
From public reviews on property portals and press coverage of the village, these themes come up. We have turned each into practical tuition advice.
The rest is covered by how NXTutors works: rates are on the shortlist before the demo, and swapping tutors later is free of charge.
Hauz Khas station is where the Yellow Line and the Magenta Line meet. It is underground, at 29 metres the deepest station in the network, and its address is on Gamal Abdel Nasser Marg near F Block and the Deer Park, towards the Outer Ring Road; the Hauz Khas bus stand is beside it. On the Yellow Line, the next stops are Green Park to the north and Malviya Nagar to the south. On the Magenta Line, they are IIT one way and Panchsheel Park the other. A tutor living anywhere along either line can reach Hauz Khas without a second change, which widens the pool considerably.
Green Park station, on the Yellow Line below Aurobindo Marg, is one stop north and can be closer for homes on the northern and western edge of the enclave, near Gulmohar Park and the Green Park side. Tell the tutor which of the two stations you are nearer to.
Four roads frame the colony: Sri Aurobindo Marg on the west, Balbir Saxena Marg on the north, the Outer Ring Road on the south and August Kranti Marg on the east, towards Siri Fort and the Asian Games Village. A tutor coming from Saket or Malviya Nagar usually drives up Sri Aurobindo Marg; one from the Siri Fort side comes along August Kranti Marg. Ask a driving tutor to avoid the approach roads to Hauz Khas Village on weekend evenings.
We look first at tutors who list Hauz Khas or nearby colonies as places they travel to, then across the Saket–Malviya Nagar–Hauz Khas zone page, then along the two metro lines. We leave travel minutes out, because the Outer Ring Road at six in the evening and at four in the afternoon are two different journeys; ask the tutor where they start.
Most Hauz Khas Enclave blocks have RWA guards who watch the entry roads. A little preparation helps the first visit go well:
Every tutor who joins NXTutors goes through an ID check, which you can read about on the ID check page. It confirms identity only, not police records, so watch the demo closely and ask the tutor questions. A Hauz Khas family wanting a woman tutor only needs to mention it when asking; the female home tutors in Delhi page has more.
CBSE is the most common request from Hauz Khas, as across Delhi. We also hear from ICSE and ISC families, and from families whose children follow IB or Cambridge IGCSE. For IB or IGCSE, the tutor should have taught the specific programme, and that small pool is spread across the city; the metro interchange helps such a tutor reach you. See IB tutors in Delhi and IGCSE tutors in Delhi.
Children who join mid-year from another board often need a bridging tutor for the first term. For a side-by-side look at the boards, use our guide to choosing a board.
For younger children, the focus is reading fluency, number work, handwriting and a calm homework routine. In families that have just moved to Delhi, a primary tutor also helps a child adjust to a new school's way of working. Keep sessions short and regular.
Middle school adds pre-algebra and algebra, a heavier science load and more structured English writing. One tutor for maths and science is common. If your child has switched boards, ask the tutor to map what the old board covered against the new syllabus before teaching anything new.
Board years bring subject tutors: maths, science, and often English. For CBSE students, there are now two Class 10 board sittings in a year. For IGCSE students, Year 10 and 11 coursework and exam technique matter as much as content, so a tutor who knows Cambridge mark schemes is worth the search.
Senior students need specialists, and IB Diploma students may need help with internal assessments as well as Higher Level subjects. Fewer tutors teach at this level, and many Hauz Khas families mix home visits with online sessions. The chemistry tutor page for Delhi covers one of the subjects most often asked for.
For JEE or NEET, look for depth first and accept that some of the strongest options will be online.
Exam months differ by board here more than in most colonies. CBSE's Class 10 main papers ran from 17 February to 11 March in 2026, with a second sitting in May. IB Diploma exams run in May, and Cambridge has its own series; check the dates on ibo.org and cambridgeinternational.org. Winter smog can make December and January evenings unpleasant to travel in, so plan extra revision sessions early and keep online as a back-up for the worst days.
Families with international-board children often settle on one home visit plus one or two online sessions a week. Book the free demo in the mode you plan to use most.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
A Hauz Khas tutor's fee is their own, and it is visible on your shortlist before you book. Rates move with the class, the board, the subject and its level, the tutor's experience, how many sessions you book each week, and the distance travelled. IB and IGCSE work, Higher Level subjects and exam-year intensives sit higher; a weekly primary class sits lower. Settle the rate, the weekly plan and how cancellations work before regular lessons start.
We found no sourced public library inside Hauz Khas, so this list is about breaks rather than desks. The Deer Park and the Rose Garden are large green spaces nearby, and the Deer Park holds the Munda Gumbad. Around the tank, the Hauz Khas complex with its mosque, madrasa and 14th-century royal tomb is a history lesson in itself. Opening hours for the parks vary by source, so check locally before planning a visit.

If weekday evenings in Hauz Khas are taken up with school work, a weekend lesson may be the easier choice for you. If Saturday or Sunday suits you better, say so at the start, and we will look for tutors who can keep that time. A request brings two or three matched tutors, and you can switch to someone else later at no charge.
This page is one of twelve in the Saket, Malviya Nagar & Hauz Khas zone. Tutors who live in Hauz Khas or travel to it are listed first. Next you will find teachers whose homes or travel lists include Green Park, Chhatarpur or another zone page, then tutors from across Delhi. Home tutors living in Ghaziabad or Faridabad can follow, and online tutors close the page, with real profiles always ahead of samples.
For younger children, a shorter lesson twice a week often works better than one long sitting at the weekend. For Class 10 and Class 12, ask the tutor how they plan revision across the term. Whatever the age, book the free demo first and judge the fit with your child sitting beside you.
