Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes, Chhatarpur families can book a tutor who comes home, or one who teaches online. Give NXTutors the class, board and subject, and tell us whether you live in an enclave lane or on a farmhouse plot, with a landmark. We then share two or three matched tutors who travel in from Mehrauli, Vasant Kunj, Saket and the Yellow Line corridor, or who teach online. Fees appear on the shortlist before you book, the first lesson is a free demo, and later you may change tutor without paying anything.
Chhatarpur is part of our Saket, Malviya Nagar & Hauz Khas area guide for Delhi. It has its own Yellow Line station, a very large temple complex that draws crowds on Tuesdays and in Navratri, and two very different kinds of housing. All three shape a tutor's week here.

Chhatarpur sits on the Mehrauli and Vasant Kunj side of South Delhi, along the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road. Square Yards describes it as a residential locality where builder floors are the most common home, with independent houses, apartments, villas, farmhouses and plots alongside. The area is known for its tree cover and the Aravalli belt behind it, and for a large belt of farmhouses, many of which also work as event venues.
The housing splits into two worlds. In Chhatarpur Enclave Phase 1 and Phase 2, and in pockets such as Hargobind Enclave, property listings show builder floors of 2 to 4 BHK, often four storeys to a plot, along lanes that can be narrow. On the farmhouse side, homes stand on large plots behind their own gates. A tutor visiting a third-floor enclave flat and one visiting a farmhouse face very different arrivals, so tell us which you are.
Square Yards lists the micro-localities as Rajpur Khurd Extension, Maidan Garhi and Rajpur, with Freedom Fighters Enclave, Sultanpur, Neb Sarai, Paryavaran Complex, Mehrauli, Sainik Farm, Kishangarh, DLF Farms, Lado Sarai and Gandhi Colony nearby. Its reviewers like the metro, the greenery and cleaner air, the quieter feel, and having hospitals and daily needs close; daily shopping comes from neighbourhood stores and complexes such as Ambawatta Complex, since one reviewer notes there is no single large local market.
Square Yards' Chhatarpur page carries more resident reviews than most South Delhi localities, and a few themes recur. Each changes how you plan tuition.
Beyond these, parents ask the usual: will the tutor be consistent, do they know the board, and does a senior subject need a home visit or will a screen do? The rest of this guide answers for Chhatarpur.
Chhatarpur station on the Yellow Line opened on 26 August 2010, about two months after the line's Qutab Minar to Gurgaon stretch began running without it. It was built entirely of steel, from prefabricated parts bolted together and completed in about nine months. It also has two-wheeler and car parking, which helps a tutor who rides to the station and takes the metro onwards. Qutab Minar is the next stop towards central Delhi and Sultanpur the next towards Gurugram.
That gives Chhatarpur an unusual reach. A tutor living in Gurugram can ride north on the Yellow Line, and one from Saket, Malviya Nagar, Hauz Khas or Green Park can ride south. From the station, e-rickshaws cover the last leg into the enclaves; a farmhouse further out may need an auto or cab.
By road, the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road is the main route both to Gurugram and back into South Delhi, with the 100 Feet Road running through the locality and IGNOU Road on the Sainik Farm side. A tutor from Vasant Kunj usually comes round via Kishangarh; one from Saket or Malviya Nagar crosses past the Qutb area.
Under construction: the Golden Line from Aerocity to Tughlakabad is being built with a Chhatarpur interchange and a separate Chhatarpur Mandir station. Until it opens, plan around the Yellow Line and the roads.
We start with tutors who already come to Chhatarpur, widen to Delhi as a whole, and bring in online teachers for specialist subjects.
Tutors who join go through an ID check. The tutor proves the phone number or email is theirs with a one-time code, then uploads a government photo ID for our team to look over. Identity is what this checks; police and background checks are not part of it, and the details are on our tutor ID check page. Meet the tutor at the free demo before agreeing regular lessons.
CBSE accounts for most Chhatarpur requests; ICSE and ISC follow, along with a small number of IB or Cambridge IGCSE students. Send the board and school year with the request so we match a tutor who knows how that board examines.
The housing affects how lessons run more than the board does. In a builder floor, a CBSE or ICSE student preparing for boards does well with one shelf for past papers and marked answers. In a larger home, an IB or IGCSE student can keep coursework drafts and practical files laid out between visits. For a full comparison of the boards, read our CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE explainer.
Small children do well with short, regular bursts: two or three lessons a week, each under an hour. Reading, handwriting, tables and simple word problems carry most of the load. For an enclave flat, an early-evening slot before dinner is usually the calmest; farmhouse families sometimes prefer a weekend morning.
These years are where a weekly tutor pays off most quietly. They catch topics the child half-understood, keep homework on track and build the habit of showing working in maths. Since several subjects matter, one tutor who covers maths and science together is efficient here.
Expect a plan tied to the school's test calendar, regular answer-writing practice, and past papers well before the final term. Our Delhi maths home tutors and Class 9 tutors in Delhi pages explain what each year asks for.
Seniors usually need a specialist per subject, and longer sessions. With the Yellow Line on the doorstep, Chhatarpur students can draw on subject specialists who live far along the line in either direction, which is not true of every South Delhi locality.
JEE Main and NEET-UG are both conducted by the National Testing Agency. A home tutor normally supports the student's own plan with practice sets, a review of each mock test and help with doubts, sometimes combined with an online specialist. See our NEET tutors in Delhi page for biology, chemistry and physics support.
Board exams fall in late winter and early spring, after pre-boards in the colder months. Navratri comes twice a year, and either season can overlap with school tests, so mark those weeks in the calendar: temple crowds make the main roads slow, and a tutor who would normally drive may prefer to come by metro or teach online. In the last weeks before boards, ask for more short sessions rather than fewer long ones, and book them early.
Home tuition suits younger children and students who need someone sitting with them. The metro widens the choice of tutors who can come to you.
Online tuition suits senior students, specialist subjects, temple-crowd days and monsoon evenings when inner lanes flood. Our online tutoring for Delhi page shows how a lesson runs.
A coaching centre suits a student who wants a batch and regular tests, usually for entrance exams. For Chhatarpur students, the metro makes centres along the Yellow Line reachable, but the trip still costs time, and batches give less personal attention. A centre for entrance work plus a home tutor for school subjects is a common mix.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Tutors price their own lessons, and that price shows before the free demo. What moves it: the subject and class, the tutor's experience with your board, the number and length of lessons a week, and travel. A tutor who rides two stops on the Yellow Line has an easier trip than one driving the MG Road at peak hour, and online lessons take travel out of the fee. Agree the monthly total and the rule for cancelled lessons in writing before you start.
We found no public library listed in Chhatarpur, so this is short. Square Yards lists an MCD park as the nearest park to the locality, and the Garden of Five Senses and Vasant Kunj Sector A Park within a few kilometres; any of them works for a walk between study sessions. For focused study, home remains the practical choice.

Finding the right teacher for your child in Chhatarpur starts with a short request. Mention the subject that is causing trouble, plus your child's class and board, and NXTutors replies with two or three tutors whose teaching fits. Chhatarpur is one of twelve pages in our Saket, Malviya Nagar & Hauz Khas zone of Delhi, so your choice is not limited to tutors who name this page alone.
Here is how the list on this page works. Anyone who lives in Chhatarpur, or has told us they are happy to travel there, appears first. After them you will meet tutors living in or covering other parts of the zone, such as Mehrauli or Green Park, and then teachers based anywhere else in Delhi. A home tutor whose base is Gurugram or Faridabad may follow, with online tutors at the end, those in Delhi before others across the country. Real tutors always come before sample profiles, and every card gives its reason in a line.
Before the first lesson, jot down which chapters the school has finished and which ones your child finds hard. That single note saves the tutor a week of guessing and lets the demo class go straight to the point.
