Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Jasola Vihar is a DDA-planned area of numbered pockets between Mathura Road and the Yamuna side, in our Kalkaji, CR Park & Sarita Vihar zone of Delhi. It is one of the few places in the city served by two metro lines from two different stations, which gives families here an unusually wide choice of tutors who can reach them.

Jasola Vihar grew as a DDA-planned area of numbered pockets. What stands out today is a group of multi-storey DDA towers for high-income-group buyers. DDA's own maintenance tenders refer to the Jasola Heights multistoried HIG flats in Pocket 9A, built under DDA's Housing Scheme 2010, and to a separate set of DDA HIG flats in Pocket 9B. Elsewhere, property portals describe a mix of older DDA flats, housing societies and builder floors, with rented flats common.
The pockets also have their own shopping: a DDA tender lists repairs to the local shopping centre in Pocket 6. Close by is the Jasola District Centre, an office and retail hub that includes DLF Towers and, near Jasola Apollo station, the Pacific Premium Outlets mall that opened in 2023. The DDA's Netaji Subhash Sports Complex, which the authority runs with tennis, basketball, football, cricket, swimming, squash and a multigym, is also in Jasola Vihar.
To the east, the area meets the Yamuna floodplain near Kalindi Kunj, and to the north it runs into Shaheen Bagh, which Wikipedia describes as the southernmost colony of the Okhla area. Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, joined to Jasola Apollo station by a large foot-over-bridge, is the landmark most visitors know on the Mathura Road side.
In a newer DDA tower, the tutor comes up by lift, and gate and lobby checks are part of every visit. In an older walk-up flat or builder floor, it is stairs and a doorbell. Larger HIG flats usually have room for a separate study corner; in smaller flats, a cleared dining table works as long as the rest of the family keeps the noise down for the hour.
Resident reviews on property portals keep returning to the same handful of points. Each one suggests a small change to how you plan tuition.
Beyond these, parents ask the questions every family asks: will the tutor keep the same slot, do they know the board, and is a senior subject better at home or online? The sections below answer them for Jasola Vihar.
Two stations serve the area. Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh, on the Magenta Line, is an elevated station on Jasola Vihar Main Road that opened on 25 December 2017. It has five gates, with Gate 5 linked by foot-over-bridge to Shaheen Bagh Road, and its next stops are Okhla Vihar to the west and Kalindi Kunj to the east. Going west, the Magenta Line runs through Jamia Millia Islamia, Sukhdev Vihar and Okhla NSIC to the Kalkaji Mandir interchange, and then on to Nehru Enclave and Greater Kailash.
Jasola Apollo, on the Violet Line, stands on Mathura Road and opened on 3 October 2010. Its neighbours are Harkesh Nagar Okhla to the north and Sarita Vihar to the south, and a foot-over-bridge links it to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. From the station balcony you can see an old kos minar, a Sher Shah Suri-era milestone that makes a handy meeting point for a first visit.
Which station suits a tutor depends on your pocket and on where they live. A tutor on the Violet Line, from Lajpat Nagar, Nehru Place or Govindpuri, will usually use Jasola Apollo; one from the Magenta Line side, around Kalkaji or Okhla, will use Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh. Tell them which one is nearer your gate and which exit to take.
By road, Mathura Road is the main link to the rest of South Delhi, and roads towards Kalindi Kunj connect the area eastwards. Tutors from Sarita Vihar, Okhla Vihar or Shaheen Bagh have the shortest trips. For a specialist subject, online lessons remove the commute completely.
Most Jasola Vihar pockets have an RWA gate, and some towers also have a lobby desk inside the main entrance. Before the demo, register the tutor as an expected visitor with the guard or the society's visitor system, and send the pocket number, tower or block, floor and flat. In a pocket with several near-identical towers, a photo of your tower entrance saves time.
Once lessons are regular, ask whether a standing approval for a weekly visitor is possible. Because visitor parking is often short in the evenings, settle in advance whether the tutor will come by metro, leave a scooter at a set spot, or be dropped off.
An adult should be at home during each lesson, with the door open for younger children. If you would like a woman tutor, say so and we will shortlist a female tutor for home lessons in Delhi where one fits your class and slot. NXTutors asks each tutor who joins to confirm a phone or email by one-time code and upload a government photo ID, which our team reviews; the details are on our ID check page. That is not a police or background check, so meet the tutor properly at the demo.
Most requests from Jasola Vihar are for CBSE, with others for ICSE and ISC and a few for IB or Cambridge IGCSE. A CBSE tutor works from NCERT and the board's sample papers; CISCE families should share the prescribed-texts list from cisce.org at the start of the year.
One detail matters in an area with so many rented flats: if your family moved here recently and your child changed school or board, tell the tutor which board they studied last year as well as this one. For a full side-by-side, read our guide to Indian school boards, or see IGCSE tutors in Delhi for Cambridge students.
Small children learn well in short, frequent lessons of 45 minutes to an hour. In a tower flat, a slot before the evening rush of visitors and deliveries is usually the calmest. Ask the tutor to follow the school diary and to spend a few minutes on handwriting and reading each time.
These are the years to fix gaps before board classes. A single tutor for Maths and Science is common, with English added if the school asks for it. Have the tutor check the school notebook and recent class tests every week; that tells you more than any textbook exercise.
From Class 9, plan towards the board exam. Longer lessons, two or three a week, leave time to explain a topic and then practise it under timed conditions. A tutor living on the Violet or Magenta Line can keep a steady evening slot by metro, which helps families looking for a Class 10 home tutor in Delhi.
Jasola Vihar seniors usually work with one tutor per subject. Where JEE or NEET is the aim, many families combine a home tutor for board subjects with an online specialist for entrance practice; our Physics home tutors in Delhi page covers the subject that most often needs separate help at this stage.
Most Jasola Vihar students sit board exams early in the calendar year, and CBSE Class 10 students now have a second chance in May to improve. CISCE posts ICSE and ISC dates on cisce.org; IB Diploma exams are in May and November, and Cambridge IGCSE has March, June and November series. Take dates only from these official sites, and agree early when lessons move to revision. Winter smog days in the run-up to exams are a good reason to keep a few sessions online.
Home tuition keeps your child in the flat and lets you see each lesson. With two metro lines this close, Jasola Vihar is easier for tutors to reach than most parts of the zone, so the choice of home tutors is wide.
Online classes suit smog days, rainy evenings and specialist senior subjects. Online tutoring for Delhi families is often the simplest route to an IB HL or entrance specialist who lives far away.
A coaching centre puts the travel on your child, though either metro line makes that easier from here. Late batches can mean a walk home after dark, so check the route from your station exit. Many families keep a home tutor for school subjects and use one online or centre class for a single goal.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees, and you see each one on your shortlist before the demo.
The class, board and subject move the fee most, followed by lesson length and the number of lessons each week. Travel counts too: a tutor from Sarita Vihar or a nearby pocket has a short trip, while one crossing the city at office hours may prefer fewer, longer lessons.
To check a monthly figure, multiply the hourly fee by lesson length and lessons per month, then ask about holidays, cancelled lessons and extra classes in exam season.
We could not source a public library inside Jasola Vihar, so none is named here. The DDA sports complex is a good place for exercise breaks, not study. Some society towers have community rooms; ask your RWA whether residents may use one. For most students, a quiet corner of the flat remains the main study space.
The linked colonies are all in the same zone; the zone guide compares them.

If Class 11 biology is bringing your child a lot of new vocabulary, or chemistry feels like a different subject from the one studied in Class 10, help is easy to request. For a student in Jasola Vihar, a tutor who explains the ideas carefully can make the jump easier. Ask us with the class and board, and you can choose from two or three tutors we pick for you.
Jasola Vihar is listed within the Kalkaji, CR Park & Sarita Vihar zone, one of six pages there alongside Kalkaji, Sarita Vihar and Chittaranjan Park. Middle and senior secondary education in Delhi falls mainly to the Directorate of Education; for tuition, tell us your child's own board, whether CBSE, ICSE, ISC or the IB, so the tutor can follow the right syllabus.
Senior science can work well as a mix: a home tutor for chemistry and physics, and an online specialist for biology, or the other way round. The biology home tutors page widens the choice. Whichever tutor you pick, you will see their fee before the first lesson, which is a free demo, so there is nothing to lose in trying one or two before you settle.
