Home tutor in CR Park: the short answer

Yes. NXTutors finds home tutors for Chittaranjan Park families in every block, from the original A to K blocks to Pocket 40 and Pocket 52. Share your block and house number with your child's class, board and subject, and you get two or three matched tutors, each with a fee you can read before booking. The opening class is a free demo at home or online, and a later change of tutor is free. CR Park is a plotted colony of houses and floors, with festival weeks that change how the roads behave.

How CR Park came to be, and how its blocks work

CR Park started as the EPDP Colony in the early 1960s, on rocky land in what was then the far south of the city. Wikipedia records that 2,147 people received plots, first on 99-year leases that were later converted to freehold, and that families who could not afford to build had the DDA build houses for them, paid back in yearly instalments. The colony was briefly called Purbachal before being renamed in the 1980s.

The first layout had about 2,000 plots in eleven blocks, A to K. In the 1990s new blocks were added for another group of displaced families: M, N, O, P, K-1, K-2 and Pocket K, along with Pocket 40, known as Navapalli, and Pocket 52, known as Dakhinpalli. So when a CR Park parent says "we are in K-1" or "we are in Pocket 40", they are naming a different part of the colony from K Block, and a tutor needs that detail.

Today the homes are independent houses and builder floors. Many plots now hold builder floors, so one plot may have a family on each storey with a shared staircase or a lift. The colony keeps a strong Bengali character: its four main markets are known for Bengali sweets and fish, and auditoriums such as Chittaranjan Bhawan host Bengali theatre and music. Evening adda in the markets is part of local life.

For tuition, that history matters in two practical ways. Addresses follow block and plot, not tower and flat, and many families want a tutor who fits a household where Bengali is spoken at home and English or Hindi is the school language.

Which tutor fits your child?

What CR Park parents weigh before booking

Property-portal reviews of CR Park keep returning to the same points. Each has a tuition angle.

  • Tree-lined, family-friendly streets. Reviewers describe the colony as safe and suited to families and older residents. That makes home tuition comfortable: a tutor walking from the metro passes through quiet residential lanes.
  • Parking, especially in D Block lanes. Narrow lanes and parked cars come up often. A tutor on a two-wheeler needs to know where to stand the bike; one who drives may lose time circling.
  • Peak-hour traffic. The roads around Nehru Place and the Outer Ring Road slow down at office hours. A slot that starts before the evening rush, or later once it eases, is easier for a tutor to hold every week.
  • Summer water and monsoon waterlogging. Some reviewers mention summer water shortages and waterlogging in places during heavy rain. For tuition, agree early that a flooded-lane evening becomes an online lesson.
  • Market noise. Homes close to the markets hear the evening bustle. A back room suits a lesson better than one on the market side.

Beyond these, CR Park parents ask what every parent asks: will the tutor keep the slot all year, do they know the board's marking, and should a Class 11 subject be learnt at home or online?

How tutors reach CR Park

CR Park has no station inside the colony, but three sit close to its edges. Wikipedia places Nehru Enclave and Greater Kailash, both on the Magenta Line, within about a kilometre of Pocket 40 and of A and B Blocks, and Nehru Place on the Violet Line within about a kilometre of B Block.

  • Nehru Enclave (Magenta). Opened in 2018 and placed in Block C of Nehru Enclave in Kalkaji. For Pocket 40 and the southern blocks, it is often the nearest stop.
  • Greater Kailash (Magenta). An underground station at Masjid Moth; its exit list names CR Park among nearby places. Useful for the blocks on the GK side.
  • Nehru Place (Violet). Serves the Nehru Place district centre and lists Kalkaji and CR Park among the areas it caters to. It suits tutors riding the Violet Line from the Lajpat Nagar side or from Faridabad.

From the station, the tutor walks or takes an e-rickshaw to the block. Inside the colony, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg is the main spine, with Gurudwara Road and CR Park Main Road as other through routes. A tutor from GK-2 can often cycle or walk in, since Wikipedia describes GK-2 as almost an extension of CR Park.

NXTutors looks first for tutors who already travel to CR Park, then for those in neighbouring colonies such as Kalkaji, Alaknanda and the GK blocks, then across Delhi, with online tutors after that. The guide to the Kalkaji, CR Park and Sarita Vihar zone compares routes across the area.

Block gates, floors and safety in CR Park

CR Park is not a set of gated towers. Most blocks are open lanes of houses, some with gates and guards at the block entrance, so a tutor's first visit depends on clear directions: block letter, plot or house number, floor, and the nearest market or temple as a landmark. Market 1, Market 2 and the Kali Mandir are names any e-rickshaw driver will recognise.

In a rebuilt plot with a family on each floor, say which bell to ring and whether the stairs or lift are shared. If the house has a dog, keep it in another room for the first lesson; a new visitor and a barking pet is a poor start to a demo.

An adult at home during lessons is a good habit, especially with young children. If you would rather your child learns from a woman, add that to the request; we can shortlist a woman home tutor in Delhi where one is free for your class, subject and time.

Everyone who joins as a tutor on NXTutors completes an ID check: they confirm a phone number or email with a one-time code, and our team reviews the government photo ID they upload. This shows who the tutor is and is not a police or background check, so read our note on tutor ID checks and judge the teaching at the demo yourself.

Boards and languages CR Park families ask about

CR Park families mostly ask for CBSE support, with some on ICSE and a few on IB or Cambridge IGCSE. A local wrinkle is language: if your child takes Bengali at school, or you want help with Hindi as a second language because Bengali is spoken at home, say so in the request, because not every tutor teaches both.

For ICSE, a tutor should know the prescribed English texts and the board's emphasis on written English; our ICSE tutors in Delhi page covers that. In a plotted house with a quiet room, longer written practice at home is easy to arrange. For a full comparison of the boards, read which board suits your child.

CR Park tuition by class band

Nursery to Class 5

For the youngest, a calm, patient tutor who can come several days a week is worth more than a long CV. CR Park's walkable blocks help: a tutor living in a neighbouring block or in GK-2 can come on foot. Focus on reading, writing, number work and a steady homework routine. If home talk is in Bengali, a tutor who encourages your child to read English aloud each day is useful.

Classes 6 to 8

From Class 6, it often makes sense for a CR Park child to have a dedicated maths and science tutor. Many families take two classes a week of each, often from one tutor at this level. Our science home tuition in Delhi page shows what to expect. English grammar and composition are worth adding if school feedback points that way; see English tutors at home.

Classes 9 and 10

Board preparation means past papers, timed writing and steady revision. In a rebuilt floor where the household is busy in the evening, ask for a fixed room and a fixed slot. Ninety minutes twice or three times a week is a common rhythm at this stage.

Classes 11 and 12

Senior science and commerce subjects usually need one specialist each. Because CR Park sits close to two metro lines, a specialist from Hauz Khas, Saket or Lajpat Nagar can often reach you without driving. See Class 12 home tutors in Delhi. Where no specialist can travel at your time, an online class is a sound fallback.

Exam season and Puja season in CR Park

The autumn term holds both school tests and Durga Puja, CR Park's major festival. The big pandals are at B Block, the Kali Mandir, the Co-operative Ground, the Mela Ground and Navapalli in Pocket 40. In 2025, police closed Gurudwara Road, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg and the internal roads of CR Park and GK-2 to vehicles from 3 pm to midnight on one Puja evening. Expect lanes near the pandals to be hard to cross in Puja week, and plan morning or online lessons for those days. For board exam dates, rely only on cbse.gov.in, cisce.org, ibo.org and cambridgeinternational.org.

Home tutor, online tutor or coaching centre for a CR Park child?

  • Coaching centre. A group class on a fixed timetable. It suits a child who keeps up with a batch and is happy to travel; from CR Park that usually means a ride towards Nehru Place or beyond.
  • Home tutor. Individual attention in your own room, with the tutor doing the travelling. The pace adjusts to your child, and you can see how lessons go. It costs more per hour than a batch.
  • Online tutor. No travel and a broader choice of subject specialists, which helps with ICSE literature, IB or IGCSE. It also keeps lessons going during Puja week.

Many CR Park homes settle on a home tutor for regular school subjects, with an online class kept in reserve for festival evenings, heavy-rain days or a senior specialist.

What home tuition costs in CR Park

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. CR Park families see what each matched tutor charges before they book the demo.

The class, the board, the subject, the lesson length and the number of lessons a week are what move a fee. Travel matters too: a tutor from the next block or GK-2 has a short walk, while one coming across Delhi may prefer longer, less frequent lessons. To check a monthly quote, multiply the hourly fee by the lesson length and the number of lessons, and ask how Puja-week cancellations and extra pre-exam classes are counted.

Quiet places to study near CR Park

We found no public library branch listed for CR Park. Chittaranjan Bhawan and the colony's other auditoriums are cultural venues rather than reading rooms, so we do not suggest them for study. The Jahanpanah City Forest, which reviewers mention as nearby, is a good place for a walk between study sessions; it is open in the early morning and late afternoon. For desk work, a quiet back room at home remains the practical choice.

Colonies near CR Park

  • Greater Kailash 2: so close it reads almost as an extension of CR Park, with plotted houses and floors.
  • Kalkaji: the temple colony on the other side, with DDA blocks and the Kalkaji Mandir interchange.
  • Alaknanda: DDA and cooperative apartment complexes along the southern edge.
  • Nehru Enclave: home to the Magenta Line station that most CR Park tutors use.
  • Greater Kailash 1: about two kilometres away, reached through GK-2 or by the Greater Kailash station.
  • Pamposh Enclave: a small, quiet colony beside CR Park on the Nehru Place side.

Kalkaji, Alaknanda and Nehru Enclave share CR Park's zone; the Delhi city page lists every other area.

About this Area

Class 12 commerce can mean accountancy, economics and maths all at once, and each may need its own kind of practice. If your child in Chittaranjan Park needs help with one or all of them, or with physics on the science side, tell us the board and the chapters left, and we will propose two or three subject teachers.

Chittaranjan Park has a page in the Kalkaji, CR Park & Sarita Vihar zone of Delhi, which has six pages on NXTutors. Tutors who live in Chittaranjan Park, or who have added it to their travel areas, are shown at the start. Next come teachers who cover Alaknanda, Kalkaji, Nehru Enclave and more of the zone, then those spread across Delhi, home tutors living in Noida or another part of the NCR, and finally online tutors. Every card explains why it appears.

Fees are set by the tutors themselves and visible in advance, while the first class is free. Our accountancy home tutors page lists more options if you would like to compare across the city, and the CBSE page for Delhi gives a broader view of tutors who teach that board.

FAQs

To book a home tutor in Chittaranjan Park, send NXTutors your block, house number, your child's class, board and subject. We reply with two or three matched tutors. You read each fee before the first class, that first class is a free demo, and you can switch to another tutor later at no cost.
A CR Park home tutor sets their own hourly fee, and you see it before booking the free demo through NXTutors. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Yes, CR Park families can ask for a woman tutor, and we include women tutors in the shortlist wherever one is available for that class and time. Mention it in the request, and keep an adult at home during lessons as a matter of routine.
For CR Park, Nehru Enclave or Greater Kailash on the Magenta Line suit most blocks, and Nehru Place on the Violet Line is close to B Block. Tell the tutor your block letter so they choose the nearest stop and take an e-rickshaw from there.
A CR Park student who needs one-to-one help usually gains more from home tuition, while coaching suits a confident child in a batch. Coaching means travel towards Nehru Place or further; a home tutor comes to your block and follows your child's pace.
CR Park families mostly ask for CBSE tutors, though ICSE requests are common too, with some for IB or Cambridge IGCSE. Mention any Bengali or Hindi language subject in the request, because the tutor needs to teach it as well.
Yes, NXTutors arranges home tuition in CR Park's Pocket 40, also called Navapalli, just as in the lettered blocks. Nehru Enclave and Greater Kailash stations are both within about a kilometre, which gives tutors coming by metro a short last stretch.
Some tutors who travel to CR Park can teach Bengali as a school language, but not all, so say so in your request. We then shortlist tutors who list it, or suggest a separate online class for Bengali alongside your main subject tutor.
During Durga Puja, CR Park's lanes near the big pandals fill with visitors, and in 2025 several roads closed to vehicles on one evening. Move lessons to mornings or online for that week, and return to your usual home slot after the festival.
For a Class 8 science tutor near CR Park, send your block, board and the topics your child struggles with. We match tutors from nearby colonies such as Kalkaji, Alaknanda and GK-2, or online tutors, and you meet them at a free demo first.
Yes, tutors reach CR Park's K-1 and K-2 blocks like the rest of the colony, but these are separate from K Block, so name them exactly. Add your plot number and a nearby market or temple, and tutors will find you without phoning for directions.
In CR Park, a slot before the evening office rush or after it eases is easiest for a tutor to keep every week. Mid-evening near the markets can be busy, so weekends and early afternoons are also worth considering for younger children.
At a CR Park demo, check how the tutor explains one topic your child finds hard, and whether they ask about school tests. Also confirm the weekly slot, the fee, and how Puja-week or rain-day lessons will move online. If the fit feels wrong, you can try another shortlisted tutor.
Yes. You can ask for a tutor who teaches both, or for two separate tutors if each subject needs a specialist. Mention the board, the remaining syllabus and upcoming school test dates. If a tutor cannot come to Chittaranjan Park, online lessons can cover that subject, leaving the other to a home tutor.
Share the class, board, subjects and school books, the chapters already finished and the days that suit your family. If a recent test went badly, mention it, as it shows the tutor where to begin. Also say whether you prefer home lessons, online lessons or a mix, so the free demo can be set up the right way.
Yes, if your block gate has a guard who notes visitors, share the tutor's name in advance. Once past the block gate, the tutor goes straight to your door and rings the bell, so add the house number and floor.
Switch, free of charge. NXTutors allows a change of tutor at any later point. It first shortlists two or three matched tutors and offers a free demo with each, so you can compare before you settle on one for your CR Park student.
