Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Nehru Enclave sits on the Kalkaji side of the Outer Ring Road, across from the Delhi office district of Nehru Place, and is part of our Kalkaji, CR Park & Sarita Vihar zone. Its underground Magenta Line station is the thing that shapes most tuition plans here, and this guide is built around it.

Nehru Enclave is less a single gated colony than a name for the planned residential blocks on the Kalkaji side of the Outer Ring Road. Property portals describe it as DDA-developed, with multi-storey apartment complexes in planned sectors, a smaller number of independent houses, and tree-lined internal streets. The metro station's own address, Block C, Kalkaji, shows how closely the name overlaps with Kalkaji's lettered blocks.
The Delhi Development Authority's list of registered RWAs for its south-zone colonies gives a sense of the housing nearby: LIG flats in Pocket L, single- and double-storeyed LIG flats in Phase I and Phase II, and named apartment groups such as Nilgiri Apartments and Front View Apartment, all under Kalkaji, plus Konark Apartment in Kalkaji Extension. Not every one of these falls inside the area people call Nehru Enclave, but they are the kind of DDA stock a tutor walks into here: low- and mid-rise walk-up blocks, each with its own association.
Across the road is Nehru Place, one of the district centres the DDA built in the 1970s and still a busy commercial area with its own bus terminal. Many households here are close enough to that office belt, and to the wider South Delhi job market, that working parents get home at very different times. That spread of arrival times is the first thing to think about when you fix a weekly slot.
In a walk-up DDA flat, the lesson usually happens at the dining table or in a child's room, and the tutor climbs the stairs, so a ground-floor or first-floor home is simpler for an older visitor. Independent houses often have a spare room that can stay set up as a study corner all week. Either way, choose a spot away from the television and the main door, because the lesson works better when nobody walks through it.
Public reviews of the area on property portals, and what is written about Nehru Place itself, come back to a few themes. Each one turns into a simple planning point for tuition.
Beyond these, parents ask what parents everywhere ask: will the tutor keep the same slot through the year, do they know my child's board, and should a senior subject be taught at home or online? The rest of this page answers those for Nehru Enclave.
Nehru Enclave station opened on 29 May 2018 as part of the Magenta Line's run west from Kalkaji Mandir. It is underground, with an island platform and five gates, and OpenStreetMap places it on the Outer Ring Road. Because it has several exits, the most useful thing you can send a tutor before the demo is the gate number closest to your block, plus a landmark you can see as you come up to street level.
One stop east is Kalkaji Mandir, an interchange where the Magenta Line meets the Violet Line. That matters for tuition: a tutor who lives anywhere along the Violet Line, from Jangpura and Lajpat Nagar in the north to Govindpuri, Jasola Apollo and Sarita Vihar in the south, can change there and ride one stop. One stop west is Greater Kailash, and beyond it Chirag Delhi, Panchsheel Park and the Yellow Line interchange at Hauz Khas, which brings in tutors from the Malviya Nagar and Saket side.
Nehru Place station on the Violet Line is close too, so a tutor who would rather not change trains has a second choice. Buses are another option: Nehru Place Terminal is the nearby stop, with many DTC routes.
By road, everything comes back to the Outer Ring Road, which has flyover junctions at Kalkaji/Nehru Place and at Modi Mill. Tutors from the next-door colonies, such as Kalkaji, Chittaranjan Park, Alaknanda or Greater Kailash 2, have the shortest trips and often come on a two-wheeler. Those from further away do better on the metro at office hours. Online lessons remove the trip completely and are worth keeping as a fall-back.
Most DDA complexes here have an RWA, and many keep a gate register or a guard who notes visitors. Before the demo, tell the guard or the RWA office that a tutor is expected, and send the tutor your block, flat number and the name of the complex, because similar-looking blocks sit close together. Once lessons are regular, ask whether the association offers a standing pass for a regular visitor so each visit does not start with a phone call.
For a walk-up block, mention the floor and whether the stairwell is shared with another block, which saves a confused first visit. If the tutor is coming from the station, a short voice note describing the walk from the gate you recommended works better than a map pin on its own.
Keep an adult at home during every lesson, and leave the study-room door open for younger children. If you would like a woman tutor, say so when you send the request, and we will shortlist a female home tutor in Delhi where one is available for your class and timing. Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check: they confirm their phone or email with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID, and the badge appears only after our team has reviewed it. You can read how this works on our tutor ID check page. It is not a police or background check, so meet the tutor at the demo and judge for yourself.
Most requests from this part of Kalkaji are for CBSE, with a share for ICSE and ISC and a smaller group for IB or Cambridge IGCSE. For a CBSE student, the tutor works from NCERT books and the sample papers CBSE posts on cbseacademic.nic.in; from 2026 the board also offers Class 10 students a second sitting later in the year, for improvement. ICSE and ISC families should hand the tutor the CISCE prescribed-texts list at the start of the year.
The housing changes one thing: in a compact flat, an IB or IGCSE student's coursework, files and past papers need a fixed shelf, so the tutor is not hunting for last week's work. To compare the boards in full, see CBSE vs ICSE vs IB vs IGCSE, or go straight to CBSE home tutors in Delhi.
Short lessons of about 45 minutes to an hour, three or four times a week, suit young children. In a walk-up flat with family coming and going, an early-afternoon slot after school lunch is often the calmest time. Keep the school diary on the table so the tutor sees each week what the class is doing, and ask for reading aloud as well as written work. Families looking for this stage can start from primary home tuition across Delhi.
In Nehru Enclave, as anywhere, these years build the base for board classes. Many families pick one tutor for Maths and Science together and add English later if the school reports ask for it. Ask the tutor to look at the school notebook and the last class test every week, not only the textbook, because that is where gaps show first.
Board planning begins in Class 9. Two or three sessions a week of roughly 90 minutes give a tutor time to teach a chapter and still finish with a timed question. A maths tutor who lives on the Magenta or Violet Line can usually hold an evening slot from the station, which makes a home maths tutor in Delhi one of the easier requests to fill here.
Most families now take one tutor per subject: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, Accountancy or Economics. Where JEE or NEET is in the plan, hours go up, and some families mix a home tutor for school subjects with an online specialist for entrance work. Ask each senior tutor how they plan the year around school pre-boards and practicals.
For most students here, board exams arrive early in the calendar year, with CBSE's Class 10 second sitting in May for those who want to improve. ICSE and ISC dates come from cisce.org, IB Diploma exams sit in May and November, and Cambridge IGCSE has March, June and November series. Take dates only from the board's own site. Agree with the tutor well before January when lessons switch to revision and past papers, and whether some of those sessions should be online.
With a home tutor, your child stays put and you can watch progress from the next room. In Nehru Enclave, two metro lines within walking distance make the pool of tutors who can come to you wider than in colonies without a station.
Online lessons skip the ring road altogether. They suit monsoon evenings, exam weeks and senior or specialist subjects where the right teacher lives across the city; online tutors for Delhi students are often the practical route for IB HL or entrance preparation.
A coaching centre puts the travel on your child. With the metro so close, that is easier from here than from many colonies, but late classes mean a walk home from the station after dark in winter. Plenty of families combine a home tutor for school subjects with one online or centre class for a specific need.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, and you see it on your shortlist before the free demo.
What moves a fee is the class and board, the subject, the length of each lesson and the number of lessons a week. Travel plays a part as well: a tutor from the next block or Kalkaji has a short trip, while one who crosses the Outer Ring Road in the evening rush may prefer fewer, longer lessons.
To read a monthly quote, multiply the hourly fee by lesson length and the number of lessons in the month, then ask how the tutor treats holidays, lessons you cancel and extra classes before exams.
We could not find a public library or study room inside Nehru Enclave that we could source, so we have not named one. For most students, the study space is a quiet corner at home, and some RWAs open a community room for residents; ask yours before planning around it.
All of the linked colonies except Greater Kailash 2 and East of Kailash sit in the same zone; the zone guide compares them.
Each link opens the Delhi page for that board, subject or class. Tell us you are in Nehru Enclave and we look for tutors who can reach you, or teach online.

Nehru Enclave appears on NXTutors as one of six pages in the Kalkaji, CR Park & Sarita Vihar zone of Delhi, and Alaknanda, Chittaranjan Park, Jasola Vihar and Kalkaji are listed beside it. This page lets you request a tutor in science, maths or any other subject, and we look for two or three tutors right for your child's class and board.
Tutors whose home is in Nehru Enclave, or who include it in their travel areas, come first. After that the page moves outward: teachers across the zone, then across Delhi, then home tutors from Faridabad or a different NCR city, and finally online tutors. If nobody is listed for Nehru Enclave itself yet, each card still tells you why that tutor is shown.
Whether your child takes IGCSE or CBSE science, mention the board and the year when you ask. A tutor who knows the paper can spend lessons on the topics that need work rather than on the format. Our IGCSE tutors in Delhi page gives a wider choice. Each tutor's fee is shown before the free first class, so you can compare them calmly before booking.
