Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Pandav Nagar families can book a home tutor through NXTutors in a few messages. Share the class, board, subject and your block, and we suggest two or three tutors willing to travel to the colony behind Akshardham. You see what each one charges up front. Class one is a free demo, and a tutor who stops suiting you later can be replaced without a fee.
Akshardham on the Blue Line is the station most tutors use, and because most homes here are floors in independent buildings, the tutor comes straight up to your door. Online lessons are there for subjects or timings a visiting tutor cannot cover.

Pandav Nagar is an older private colony of trans-Yamuna Delhi. Old land records call the area Neem Ka Bangar. Wikipedia says the developer took the name from the Pandavas of the Mahabharata because the land lay between two places named after their capital: the DDA's Indraprastha Estate on one side and the Indraprastha Extension housing societies on the other. Settlement began around 1960.
The colony is described as split into two parts and is organised by lettered block; the Radha Krishna Temple in C Block is one of its most familiar addresses. Square Yards notes that builder floors dominate the homes on offer today, alongside apartment buildings such as Sri Sai Apartment, Gayatri Apartment and Silver State Apartments. Shops and offices sit among the houses, so a lane can be busy in the day and quiet by evening.
Few colonies have a landmark as easy to give as this one: the back of Pandav Nagar faces the road across from Akshardham Temple, and the metro station stands between the colony and the temple, with the Commonwealth Games Village on the far side. Inside and around the colony, people steer by Mother Dairy Kela Godam, D Park, the Ganesh Nagar Complex, the gurdwaras and the many temples. A local hospital and Shanti Nursing Home are the medical landmarks.
Pandav Nagar has an unusually long list of places of worship for a colony its size, and locals use them as directions. Wikipedia lists the Radha Krishna Temple complex in C Block, Gurudwara Singh Sabha, the Shiv Hanuman Mandir, a Hanuman Temple, a Digambar Jain Mandir, the Shiv Shakti Temple and the Mala Devi Temple, with the Kali Bari, the Shiv Durga Mandir and the Ganesh Nagar gurdwara in the adjoining Ganesh Nagar. If your house is near one of these, put it first in your message; it is quicker for a new tutor than a house number in a lane they have never walked. On big festival evenings the lanes near the larger temples may be busier than usual, so check the calendar before fixing a lesson then.
For shopping, Square Yards lists Acharya Niketan Market among the nearby options, along with the shops inside the colony.
On a builder floor, the tutor rings at the street door and climbs the stairs; there is usually no guard or intercom in between. That makes visits quicker but puts the onus on you to give clear directions, a block letter and a house number that is visible from the lane. Ground-floor rooms near the street can be noisy during market hours, so an upper-floor room or a back room is the better study spot if you have the choice.
Public reviews of Pandav Nagar on Square Yards are few, so read these as broad themes rather than a survey. Each comes with a planning tip.
These themes are paraphrased from public reviews and are not measurements.
Akshardham station on the Blue Line opened on 12 November 2009. It stands on the Noida Link Road, between Pandav Nagar on one side and the temple and Games Village on the other, with Yamuna Bank and Mayur Vihar-I as its neighbouring stations. Square Yards puts it within about a kilometre of the colony. A tutor coming from Karol Bagh or Dwarka on the Blue Line rides straight through; one from Laxmi Nagar changes branches at Yamuna Bank, the next stop west.
Tutors on the Pink Line can get off at IP Extension and take an e-rickshaw, or change to the Blue Line at Mayur Vihar-I for one stop to Akshardham. Mandawali-Chander Vihar railway station is also nearby, though few tutors travel by suburban train.
The Delhi–Meerut Expressway along NH-9 passes the colony, while the Noida Link Road, on which the station stands, heads south-east past Mayur Vihar. For a tutor driving from South Delhi, the DND Flyway and, since 29 September 2026, the Barapullah Phase III road to Mayur Vihar Phase I are both routes into the area; the new road had long queues in its first days. In the colony's narrow lanes a two-wheeler is far easier than a car.
NXTutors looks for tutors in and around Pandav Nagar first, then tutors who list this zone, then the wider city, then online. Tutors from Shakarpur, Laxmi Nagar and Mayur Vihar Phase 1 are a short trip away. We never say tutors live in the colony; the shortlist shows who is willing to come.
Because most homes are builder floors, there is no society gate to clear. The tutor arrives at your street door, rings the bell and comes up. That saves time, but it means you are the security desk.
What we check: tutors who join go through an ID check. That covers a one-time code to their phone or email and a review by our team of an uploaded government photo ID. It is not a background or police check, and you should still meet the tutor at the free demo. The process is set out on how we check tutors.
Requests from Pandav Nagar are mostly CBSE, with some ICSE and ISC and the occasional IB or IGCSE student, in line with Delhi overall. CBSE students should expect NCERT-first teaching, with practice drawn from cbseacademic.nic.in; ICSE and ISC families can hand the tutor CISCE's list of prescribed texts on day one.
The local twist is space. A builder floor often has a smaller study area than a society flat, so keep one box or shelf for the board's past papers and the tutor's worksheets. For a full comparison of the boards, see which board suits your child.
Younger children respond to warmth and routine. Ask for short lessons at the same time each day, with some reading aloud and simple written work. In a home with shop or street noise, a back room or upper floor helps a small child concentrate.
In Pandav Nagar homes, the Class 6 to 8 years are a good time to settle a fixed weekly study rhythm. One tutor for Maths and Science is common, with English or Hindi added if school feedback suggests it. Ask the tutor to check the school notebook every week, so mistakes are caught early.
Families usually shift to subject-wise tutors now. Science and Maths come first; a science home tutor in Delhi can take your child through NCERT chapters and practical-based questions. Ask for timed practice once a month so exam speed improves along with understanding.
Seniors in science or commerce often need one tutor per subject. Akshardham's direct Blue Line link widens the choice of senior-subject tutors who can come regularly. If JEE Main or NEET-UG is planned, check exam details only on nta.ac.in, and consider a NEET home tutor in Delhi for Biology and Chemistry.
From November to March, plan around three things: board and school exam dates, smog, and early darkness. Move the lesson slightly earlier so the tutor is not walking back from the station late, agree an online fallback for bad-air days, and book extra revision lessons by December. Check dates only on cbse.gov.in or cisce.org.
Home tuition is the natural fit for Pandav Nagar's builder floors: no gate, no waiting, and you can see the lesson for yourself. It suits young children, children who need confidence, and board students who need close correction.
Online lessons suit specialist subjects, evenings when the lanes are jammed, and families who want a teacher from far across the city. See online tutoring for Delhi students.
Coaching centres give structure and peer practice, but add travel and a group pace. If you are weighing both, try the home tutor first through the free demo, since it costs nothing and shows quickly whether one-to-one help is enough.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Pandav Nagar parents see each tutor's own rate on the shortlist ahead of the demo.
Fees move mainly with class, board and subject, with lesson length and lessons per week after that. A tutor coming one stop on the Blue Line has an easy trip; one crossing the expressway traffic at rush hour may prefer longer lessons on fewer days. Entrance preparation and board-year specialists usually charge more than general homework help.
Before you start, agree the monthly total and what happens with missed lessons and festival holidays.
We could not find a public library inside Pandav Nagar. The Delhi Public Library's Shahdara zonal library has a self-study room open on all days, with shorter hours on Sunday; check dpl.gov.in first. For a break between study sessions, Sanjay Lake Park beside Mayur Vihar has a walking track.

Pandav Nagar has a page of its own on NXTutors, inside the Mayur Vihar, Patparganj & IP Extension zone. Whether you need help with Class 9 science, Class 12 Accountancy or an IB subject, a request from here brings two or three tutors suited to your child's class and board.
Think about what your child needs most. Is it homework support, exam practice or building confidence? Mention this, along with the textbook, chapters covered and days that suit you. If your child studies commerce, say which subjects, since some tutors cover Accountancy and Economics together. For a specialist subject, combining home visits with online sessions can help. A younger child may need gentle, regular sessions, while a senior student may want fewer but longer ones.
Before booking, have a short conversation with the tutor. Ask how they would plan the first month, how they check progress and how they communicate with parents. You will already see their fee on the profile, so the talk can focus on teaching. The opening class is free, and if the tutor does not suit your child later, switching is free too. Our Accountancy home tutors page lists more choices across Delhi.
