Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Yes. A tutor can come to your home in Mandawali, whether you live off Mandawali Main Road, near Shanti Marg or across in West Vinod Nagar, and online classes are there if you need them. Send NXTutors the class, board and subject, plus your block and gali, and we suggest two or three matched tutors who travel to Mandawali or teach online. You see each tutor's fee on the shortlist, the first class is a free demo, and changing tutor later costs you nothing.
Mandawali is part of our Mayur Vihar, Patparganj and IP Extension zone of Delhi. Three things shape a tutor's week here: an old village core with tight lanes, a Pink Line station on Narwana Road, and a vegetable market that fills the evening. This guide takes them one by one.

Mandawali began as a village. Over the decades it filled in with houses and shops until it became a dense residential colony. Wikipedia records that it was an unauthorised colony until it was regularised in 2012, and it now falls under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
The name covers several pockets. References list A Block and B Block, Sewa Sadan Block, Urja Vihar, a Railway Colony, Shiv Mandir Road and the lanes around Shanti Marg, as well as East and West Vinod Nagar. Maps also mark an East School Block near Shanti Marg. Next door is Hasanpur, an older village whose fields once reached Mandawali; parts of the Patparganj Industrial Area were later built on that land.
One road splits the wider area. The Delhi–Meerut Expressway runs between West Vinod Nagar and East Vinod Nagar, and each side has its own Pink Line station. For a tutor, that matters: crossing the expressway is a detour, so it helps to say clearly which side of it you live on.
Homes here are mainly builder floors and independent houses on small plots, close together in narrow galis. Square Yards' listing data shows builder floors making up the great majority of homes on offer, and rentals are mostly 2 BHK floors. There are a few apartment buildings, but no large gated societies of the kind found in IP Extension.
In a 2 BHK floor, space for study is tight. The lesson often happens at a dining table or in the child's shared room, so pick a slot when the television is off and younger siblings are busy. If several floors share one staircase, the tutor rings your bell directly, without a guard in between. That makes the first visit easy once the tutor has the right lane, and hard if the address is vague.
Many homes here are rented. If you might move within a year or two, ask each tutor at the demo whether they could continue online or reach a nearby colony, so a move does not end a good arrangement.
Public locality reviews and recent news about Mandawali keep coming back to the same few points. Here is what each one means for regular tuition.
Under these sit the questions every family asks: will the tutor keep a fixed slot, do they know my child's board, and can a senior subject be taught well at home? The sections below answer those for Mandawali.
This elevated Pink Line station opened on 31 October 2018 as part of the Delhi Metro's third phase. It stands on Narwana Road. Going one way, the next stop is East Vinod Nagar - Mayur Vihar-II; going the other, it is IP Extension. From the station gate, most homes are a short walk or an e-rickshaw ride into the colony.
The Pink Line now runs as a full ring around the city. It meets the Blue Line at Mayur Vihar-I, Anand Vihar and Karkarduma, and the Violet Line at Lajpat Nagar, so a tutor from many parts of Delhi can change once and arrive at Narwana Road. That is useful for subjects where the right tutor may not be in the next colony, such as senior physics or IB maths.
DTC buses stop at Ras Vihar, near the metro station, on several routes. Mandawali also has a small railway halt, Mandawali-Chander Vihar, though few tutors rely on it for a weekly class.
Mandawali Main Road runs through the colony, and Shanti Marg, Shri Hanuman Marg and Madhu Vihar Road link it to IP Extension and Patparganj. Patparganj Road carries traffic towards Laxmi Nagar. A tutor on a two-wheeler can get close to most doors; a car may have to stop on the main road.
We do not quote travel times, because the same trip can take very different lengths of time at different hours. Ask each tutor where they start from and how they plan to come.
In Mandawali, the address does the work that a society gate does elsewhere. Send your block, gali number, house number and floor. Add a map pin and one landmark. Good landmarks here are a road junction, a temple or a shop on the corner of your gali.
If the tutor comes by scooter, say where it can stand for an hour without blocking a neighbour. In the narrow lanes this small point prevents most first-week friction. If your building's street door is kept shut, tell the tutor whether to ring or call.
Keep lessons in a room with the door open. An adult should be at home, above all for younger children. Sit in on part of the free demo and watch how the tutor explains.
Some families would like a woman tutor. Mention it in your request. We then look for a woman home tutor in Delhi who fits the class and slot. Tutors who join NXTutors go through an ID check. They confirm a phone or email with a one-time code and upload a government photo ID. Our team reviews that ID. It confirms identity only for Mandawali families; it is not a police or background check. Read how we check tutor ID for the detail.
As in most of Delhi, Mandawali families ask mainly about CBSE. ICSE and ISC come up less often, and IB or Cambridge IGCSE only now and then. For a CBSE child, a home tutor is fairly easy to find within the zone. For ICSE, the pool is thinner, so we may suggest a tutor from further along the Pink Line or a mix of home and online classes.
One recent change: CBSE's scheme now gives Class 10 students two board examinations a year. A home tutor should plan revision around both windows.
For the full comparison of syllabus, assessment and what changes for a tutor, read our guide to CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE.
In the primary years, the tutor builds reading, handwriting, number sense and a homework routine. Short, frequent sessions work better than long ones. In a busy household, a fixed time just after school, before the evening market noise starts, keeps a young child focused.
This is where maths and science start to stretch children. Fractions, algebra and the first chemistry ideas need steady practice. Many families here prefer one tutor who covers both subjects, which keeps visits to two or three a week and keeps parking simple in the lane.
Most families move to subject tutors now. A maths tutor for Delhi home visits handles algebra, geometry and trigonometry, while a science home tutor covers the physics, chemistry and biology chapters. Class 10 has a clear rhythm of tests and board practice. See our Class 10 tuition page for Delhi for what a good year looks like.
Senior years need specialists in physics, chemistry, maths, biology, accountancy or economics. Fewer tutors teach these well, so the right one for Mandawali may live further along the metro. This is where the Pink Line's links help most. If no home tutor fits, an online specialist is a sound second choice.
For entrance exams, the tutor adds deeper problem solving alongside the board syllabus. Exam rules and dates come from NTA on nta.ac.in, so check them there. Many families combine one or two home sessions a week with online practice.
Mandawali has two pressure points in the school year. The first is board season in late winter, when revision runs through December and January. CBSE and CISCE publish their date sheets on cbse.gov.in and cisce.org; plan extra sessions once those appear rather than from forwarded messages.
The second is the monsoon. Waterlogging in the lanes can make a tutor's last stretch slow or unsafe on heavy-rain days. Since the rains arrive mid-term, with school tests in progress, agree a simple rule early: if the lanes are flooded, the class runs online at the usual time.
Home tuition suits younger children, and any child who needs an adult beside them to stay on task. In a builder floor, the tutor comes straight to your door. You can see the lesson and talk to the tutor afterwards.
Online tuition is useful for senior specialists and for rainy days. It also helps when a good tutor lives too far to visit weekly. You need a steady connection and a quiet corner. Our online tutors for Delhi students page explains how it works.
A coaching centre gives a fixed timetable and peer pressure, but the pace is set for the batch. Some children do well with both: a centre for the main course and a home tutor for weak topics. If your child is falling behind in class, one-to-one help usually shows results faster than a bigger batch.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
In Mandawali, each tutor sets their own fee, and you see it next to their name before the demo. What moves it: the class and board, how deep the subject goes, the tutor's experience, the number of sessions a week, and how far they travel. A tutor coming from across the city by metro may price a visit differently from one in a nearby colony. Online classes save the travel, so some tutors price them lower. Before regular classes begin, agree the fee, the weekly days and what happens to a missed class.
We could not find a sourced public library inside Mandawali, so this section stays short. Maps show small green spaces such as Herbal Park and Banjar Park nearby, which suit a walk between study blocks rather than reading. For most children here, the quiet spot is a corner at home, set up before the tutor arrives.

If a younger child in Mandawali has begun to find science or maths confusing in Class 6 or Class 7, that is a sensible moment to look for steady help. Tell NXTutors the class, board and subjects, and you will receive a shortlist of two or three people comfortable teaching at that stage.
A few details make the match better: the textbook your child uses, the chapters completed, recent class tests and the days that work for your family. If your child is shy, say so, and ask each tutor how they help a child who needs time to open up. Lessons can be at home, online or a mix.
Mandawali is part of the Mayur Vihar, Patparganj & IP Extension zone. Anyone living in Mandawali, or travelling there to teach, heads this page. Should nobody be listed yet for your subject, tutors from IP Extension, Shakarpur and the zone's remaining pages take their place, then the whole of Delhi, then a home tutor based in Ghaziabad, and finally online help. The reason for each appears on its card. The first class is a free demo, and our Science home tutors page is worth a look as well.
