Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Raipur the question is rarely whether a tutor exists; it is whether the right one lives close enough to come twice a week for a whole year. The city has no metro, most tutors ride a two-wheeler, and a newer township or a colony on the far side of the highway can leave a family with a short list of home tutors for a particular subject. Live one-to-one online lessons remove the journey, so the choice comes down to teaching alone. This guide from the NXTutors Academic Team explains when online works better for a Raipur student, when a home tutor is still the right call, how lessons are arranged, what the desk needs, and how to blend the two.
IB Diploma and IGCSE students, ISC electives, and JEE Advanced-level problem solving all need someone who teaches that exact thing every week. Such tutors are spread thinly across India, and online brings them to your table.
Plotted layouts that are still filling up, or a colony on the far side of a busy junction, can make regular home visits difficult. Online sidesteps the ride entirely.
When school runs into an afternoon coaching batch, the only free time may be late evening, when few tutors want to cross the city. A thirty-minute online slot after the batch fits easily.
On the hottest afternoons, the wettest monsoon days and in the Dussehra and Diwali weeks, an online session agreed in advance keeps the week's lesson from disappearing.
Online is not the answer for everyone. Children below about Class 5 often struggle to stay with a screen for an hour and learn better with an adult beside them. Students who drift off on a laptop, or who have not yet built the habit of writing their working, usually need someone at the table. And in maths and physics up to Class 10, a home tutor can see the exact line where a method goes wrong in a way a camera often misses. If a capable tutor lives in your own zone and can keep a fixed slot, that remains a strong option. Our general home or online tutor comparison sets out the trade-offs.
| Situation | Suggested format | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Class 3 child who needs reading and arithmetic support | Home | Attention and handwriting need an adult at the table |
| Class 10 CG Board student weak in maths | Home, with online checks before tests | Long working on paper; quick recall drills suit the screen |
| Class 12 NEET student with an afternoon batch | Online biology recall, home physics | Short frequent checks online; numericals watched in person |
| IB or IGCSE student | Online | A programme specialist is more important than proximity |
| ISC student with an unusual elective | Online | Specialists for some electives are rare in any one city |
| Student in a home that tutors find hard to reach regularly | Online, with occasional home visits | The weekly rhythm does not depend on a long ride |
Language matters too. Many Raipur students learn partly in Hindi. Searching beyond the city makes it easier to find a tutor who teaches your subject comfortably in Hindi, English or both.
Online names can also appear when you searched for home tuition. Raipur locality pages list tutors in that locality first, then the rest of its zone, then the wider city, and then teachers who work online, and each card says where the tutor is based. An online tutor on the list usually means the specialist you asked for does not live nearby. Tutors who join go through an ID check; it is not a police or background check, so judge the teaching yourself in the demo.
For subjects with working, such as maths, physics, chemistry and accountancy, the tutor must see the pen moving, not a photo of the finished answer.
Test everything in the free demo. Our online versus offline tutoring article has more set-up advice.
In the first few lessons, look for these signs. Your child speaks and writes more than the tutor. Mistakes are caught halfway through a step, with a question rather than a correction. Both cameras stay on. The tutor works from your child's own school tests, board papers or batch sheets rather than generic worksheets. Each lesson ends with a short written note of what was covered and what to practise. An hour of slides with your child listening is a lecture, not tuition. Bring our demo class checklist to the first session.
The most practical Raipur arrangement is often a mix, with the same tutor across both formats where possible:
The continuity of one tutor usually matters more than which format a given week uses.
| Locality | Local situation | How online helps |
|---|---|---|
| Kamal Vihar | A planned township in numbered sectors, still filling up | Specialist subjects and exam preparation without waiting for a nearby tutor |
| Amlidih | Mostly houses and plots on newer layouts | Brings in a specialist who lives across the city |
| Bhatagaon | Roads near the bus terminal busy at bus times | Late-evening slots with no travel at all |
| New Rajendra Nagar | Arterial junctions that fill at office hours | Short pre-test sessions without a ride through the rush |
| Tatibandh | Heavy vehicles on the national highway all day | A tutor from the other side of the highway can still teach |
| Sarona | Local trains help some tutors, but the highway side is busy at office hours | Online for specialist subjects, home for the rest |
The zone guides for Central, East, South and West Raipur describe travel on each side of the city, and the Raipur page lists every locality. One small tip if a tutor will visit as well: Avanti Vihar off VIP Road and Avani Vihar near Mowa are different places, so give the full address.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees for home and online lessons, and you see each fee before the demo. Online lessons carry no travel, and shorter sessions are easier to arrange, which can lower the monthly total; a specialist teaching online may still charge at the upper end. When your child needs a narrow specialist, such as IB, IGCSE, an ISC elective or JEE Advanced problem solving; when your home is hard for tutors to reach every week; or when school and an afternoon batch leave only late evenings. Online removes the ride, so you can choose on teaching quality alone.
Choose Online under the home page search, or type online with the subject and class, and tutors from other cities can appear. Find Tutors in online mode lets you add subject, board, class and a fee limit. The demo request form also has a Mode field where you can pick online.
Yes. CGBSE publishes its blueprints, model papers and question bank on cgbse.nic.in, so a tutor anywhere can work from the same material as your child's school. Ask the tutor to show the current blueprint at the demo, and check they can teach in the language your child writes the paper in.
Yes. Choose online in the demo form's Mode field and add the class, board and times. We send two or three matched tutors with their fees, and the first class with the one you pick is a free lesson on screen. You and the tutor agree the video tool and how written work is shared.
A laptop or tablet, a headset with a microphone, and a live view of the notebook, either a phone on a stand pointing at the page or a stylus tablet. Add a shared whiteboard, a table in a shared room and a phone hotspot for days when the connection or power fails.
Often, yes. Common blends are a weekend lesson at home with weekday sessions online, home lessons in term with online sessions before exams, or online lessons on the hottest afternoons and heaviest rain days. Keeping one tutor across both formats matters more than the format of any one week.
