Raipur Home Tuition Guide: Central, East, South and West Raipur
Raipur's older core sits around Raipur Junction, which opened in 1888, and the busy streets of Pandri. From there the city has grown in three directions: east past Shankar Nagar and the lake at Telibandha towards Vidhan Sabha Road, south past the Ring Road junctions towards Dhamtari Road, and west along the Great Eastern Road and the highway to Bhilai. Which of those directions you live in shapes who can reach your home every week, and what a tutor finds when they arrive.
This guide takes the four NXTutors zones in Raipur in turn: for each locality, the homes, the way in and the timing that tends to work.
Which Raipur zone is your home in?
Most tutors here ride their own two-wheeler, with autos and cars for some trips. The expressway that starts at Fafadih Chowk runs to Nava Raipur, the planned capital city nearby, and BRTS buses link the railway station with Nava Raipur. In the west, Sarona has its own small railway station.
| Zone | Roads and links that matter | Homes you will find | First-visit habit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Central Raipur | Station roads, Pandri Road, Fafadih Chowk | Independent houses, builder floors, flats above busy streets | A precise landmark; building name and floor for flats |
| East Raipur | VIP Road, Vidhan Sabha Road, Gaurav Path by the lake | Apartments, villas, houses, and plots still filling in further out | Gate registration at apartment buildings; a map pin in new lanes |
| South Raipur | Ring Road, Dhamtari Road, NH-30 and NH-53 junctions | Houses and plots, apartment complexes, a planned township in sectors | Sector, plot or block number; slots away from junction rush |
| West Raipur | Great Eastern Road, NH-53, Ring Road No. 2 | Apartments, a large housing board colony, houses and plots | A tutor on the same side of the highway; block and house number |
Central Raipur
The old heart of the city, close to Raipur Junction, where houses and builder floors share streets with markets and offices.
- Samta Colony: a residential colony near the main market area, bordered by Choubey Colony, Amanaka and Amapara. Tutors can reach it from almost every side of the city. For a flat, share the building name and floor in advance.
- Fafadih: flats, plots and offices around the chowk where the expressway to Nava Raipur begins. Give a clear landmark and check whether visitors sign in.
- Gudhiyari: mostly two- and four-bedroom flats near the station, with busy local shopping streets. Tell the guard or caretaker the tutor's name before the demo.
- Devendra Nagar: independent houses and builder floors in numbered sectors between Pandri and Fafadih. Tutors arrive straight at the door, so share the sector, house number and a landmark.
- Pandri: busy commercial streets, once home to the city's main bus stand, with houses, apartments and plots behind them. Market streets crowd in the evenings and on festival days, so give a precise landmark, not just the market name.
East Raipur
Long-settled colonies near VIP Road and the lake, then newer housing on the north-eastern side around Vidhan Sabha Road.
- Shankar Nagar: apartments, builder floors, villas and houses. Apartment buildings register visitors at the gate. A tutor who lives in Shankar Nagar or Avanti Vihar keeps evening classes clear of the busiest times.
- Avanti Vihar: a colony off VIP Road, usually treated as part of Shankar Nagar, with apartments and villas. Its name is close to Avani Vihar near Mowa, a different place, so give the full address when booking.
- Telibandha: houses, apartments and offices around Telibandha Lake, built in 1835 and known as Marine Drive. The lakefront fills up in the evenings and at weekends, so homes close to it need classes planned with some margin.
- Mowa: a former census town next to Vidhan Sabha Road, with apartments, villas, houses and plots. Register the tutor at gated colonies; for houses, a landmark and phone number are enough. Office-hour traffic on Vidhan Sabha Road is worth avoiding.
- Daldal Seoni: apartments, plots and houses near Mowa and Avani Vihar. Families usually find tutors in Mowa, Avani Vihar or the Vidhan Sabha Road colonies. Give security the tutor's name beforehand.
- Saddu: a spread-out, growing area of residential plots and new apartments near Ama Seoni and Parsulidih. Tutors usually come by two-wheeler or car, and a shared map pin helps. Online classes suit subjects whose specialist lives across the city.
South Raipur
Where the Ring Road meets the national highways and Dhamtari Road, with established colonies and a large planned township.
- New Rajendra Nagar: apartments and houses where NH-30 meets the Telibandha section of NH-53, with markets close by. Pick a slot that avoids the evening rush at the junctions.
- Pachpedi Naka: the busy junction of Dhamtari Road and the Ring Road, with apartments, houses and commercial frontage. Choose a tutor who lives on the same side of the Ring Road. Parking is tight, so a two-wheeler is easiest.
- Amlidih: mostly independent houses and plots, with wide roads in the newer layouts and Amlidih Main Road heading towards the airport. Tutors arrive at the doorstep; send a map pin for recent layouts.
- Mahaveer Nagar: villas, apartments and plots near Vishal Nagar and Amlidih. Houses mean doorstep arrival; complexes register visitors, so share the block and flat number.
- Bhatagaon: two- and three-bedroom apartments and plots near the inter-state bus terminal, open since November 2021, which makes a handy landmark. Roads near the terminal get busier as long-distance buses come and go.
- Kamal Vihar: a planned township, also known as Kaushalya Mata Vihar, laid out in numbered sectors with plotted houses, row houses and apartment blocks. Share the sector and plot or block number. As it fills up, online classes help for specialist subjects.
West Raipur
The Bhilai side of the city, along the Great Eastern Road and NH-53, with Sarona's station and a large housing board colony.
- Kota: apartments, often three-bedroom, plus houses and builder floors along the Great Eastern Road, near Amanaka and Samta Colony. The road carries heavy traffic all day, so a tutor from the same side of it is easier to keep on time.
- Tatibandh: apartments, villas and plots around Tatibandh Chowk, where NH-53 meets Ring Road No. 2 and the expressway to Bilaspur begins. Register the tutor at the complex gate and ask about a regular visitor pass.
- Sarona: wide roads, parks, apartments, houses and plots, with its own small railway station. Tutors can come by local train and finish by auto, or ride over from Tatibandh, Kabir Nagar or Amanaka.
- Kabir Nagar: a large state housing board colony near the Raipur-Bhilai-Durg highway, built in phases, with houses and blocks of smaller flats. Homes are easy to find by block and house number. Ring Road traffic peaks at office hours.
Making a weekly slot hold in Raipur
- Match the side of the road. The Great Eastern Road, NH-53 and the Ring Road junctions are where trips slow down, so a tutor living on your side of them is easier to keep on time.
- Name the board and medium. Children here study under the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), CBSE, or the CISCE's ICSE and ISC. For CGBSE, say whether your child writes in Hindi or English. See Chhattisgarh Board tutors, CBSE and ICSE.
- Keep an online option. On the growing edges, an online tutor for one specialist subject widens the choice.

Frequently asked questions
How do home tutors usually travel around Raipur?
Home tutors in Raipur mostly travel on their own two-wheeler, with autos and cars for some trips. Raipur Junction is close to the central zone for tutors who come by train, and Sarona has its own small station in the west. Choosing a tutor who lives in your own zone keeps the journey short and the start time steady through the year.
Where in Raipur are gated apartment buildings common?
Gated apartment buildings in Raipur are common in Shankar Nagar, Avanti Vihar, Mowa and Daldal Seoni in the east, Bhatagaon in the south, and Tatibandh and Kota in the west. Give the guard the tutor's name and flat number before the demo, and ask whether a regular visitor pass is possible. For houses, a landmark and phone number are enough.
We live in Kamal Vihar. What should we tell a new tutor?
In Kamal Vihar, tell a new tutor your sector and plot or block number, since the planned township is laid out in numbered sectors. Some people call it Kamal Vihar and others Kaushalya Mata Vihar, so mention both. Apartment blocks may have a guard who asks for the visitor's name, and online classes help with specialist subjects as the township fills up.
Can families in Saddu or Daldal Seoni get a home tutor?
Yes, families in Saddu or Daldal Seoni can get a home tutor, usually one living in Mowa, Avani Vihar, Daldal Seoni or the Vidhan Sabha Road colonies. Saddu is spread out, so share a map pin. NXTutors looks for the nearest tutors first, then your zone and the rest of Raipur, then online tutors where the right specialist lives further away.
How do we avoid tutor delays on Raipur's Bhilai side?
To avoid tutor delays on Raipur's Bhilai side, pick a tutor who lives on the same side of the Great Eastern Road or NH-53 as your home. Fix a class time outside office hours, when Ring Road traffic peaks. In Tatibandh, Kota, Sarona and Kabir Nagar, that one choice does more to keep lessons on time than any change of route.
Which boards do Raipur home tutors teach?
Raipur home tutors teach the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), CBSE, and the CISCE's ICSE and ISC. For CGBSE, say in your request whether your child writes in Hindi or English, so the matched tutors suit the exam paper. Name the class and subjects too, and use the free demo to check the tutor knows the current syllabus.
