Vasai, Nalasopara and Virar Home Tuition Guide: Naigaon to Virar East, Zone by Zone

By NXTutors Academic Team 11 min read

Vasai-Virar lies north of Vasai Creek and south of the Vaitarna, in Palghar district, and it is really several towns that grew into one city: Vasai, Nalasopara and Virar, with Naigaon at the southern end. The Western line runs up the middle, and most families describe their home first by its side of the tracks, east or west. This guide groups its twenty NXTutors localities into six zones, south to north, with what a tutor needs for a first visit.

Getting a tutor to your door

Tutors here arrive by train, city bus, auto or two-wheeler, so a known landmark beats a long address. On the Western line the stations run Naigaon, Vasai Road, Nalla Sopara and Virar, south to north. Juchandra, in Naigaon East, has its own station on the Central Railway route from Vasai Road towards Diva and Panvel. VVMT city buses help tutors without a vehicle.

NaigaonNaigaon; JuchandraNewer apartment projects in the east, older homes in the westEast or West in full, never just "Naigaon"

Virar WestVirarFlats around Bolinj, spread-out village homes in Agashi and ArnalaBolinj Naka or your road; a map pin in the villages
Virar EastVirar, east sideApartment buildings, with older houses along Chandansar RoadThe colony first, then the building and the road

Vasai West: Manickpur, Papdy, Chulne and Sandor

The older side of Vasai, the town once known as Bassein, lies west of the railway line and south of Nalasopara. Vasai Road Junction, formerly Bassein Road, is the rail point for this side,. Papdy Road and Chulna Sandor Road are the roads most families name.

Manickpur: family lanes close to the old centre, with newer flats around them; Navghar-Manikpur was one of the four councils that came together to form the city. Households here often have children on two boards, so tell the tutor which board each child follows. The cricket ground makes a handy landmark, and add the Manikpur spelling if your gate uses it.

Papdy: an old village name with Papdy Road running through it, and homes ranging from ground-floor houses to apartment blocks. Primary reading, handwriting and number sense are the usual needs. If your child is moving from Marathi to English medium, say so. Write Papdi too, since some maps use it.

Chulne: quieter village lanes among trees, on the road to Sandor. Fewer tutors live inside Chulne, so yours may come from Manickpur or from near Vasai Road; a weekend morning, or two evenings fixed well ahead, makes the trip easier. Give both Chulne and Chulna.

Sandor: older homes beside newer apartment buildings, next to Chulne and Bhabola. HSC science students here usually have MHT-CET, JEE Main or NEET in view, so name the test and plan board and entrance chapters together from the start of Class 11.

Vasai East: Vasant Nagari, Gokhivare and Waliv

East of the tracks, between Vasai Road and Nalasopara, most families live in apartment buildings. The Vasai East industrial estate post office serves Gokhiware and Valiv among its branches, and Golani Naka and Waliv Phata are the junctions people use for directions. Where both parents work, tuition is usually an evening hour.

Vasant Nagari: a large residential neighbourhood whose buildings write either Vasai East or Nalasopara East in their address. Put Vasant Nagari first and then whichever one yours uses. If parents return late, tell the tutor who will be at home during the class.

Gokhivare (Gokhiware): grew around an old village and its lake, which is still the easiest reference point. Classes 6 to 8 deserve attention here, as algebra begins and science splits into separate topics; ask the tutor to give a short written check during the demo and explain what it shows.

Waliv (Valiv): further east towards Waliv Phata, with village houses and newer buildings side by side. Ask for a tutor who can explain in Hindi or Marathi and check answers in English. Send a map pin the day before the first visit.

Naigaon: Naigaon East, Naigaon West and Juchandra

At the southern end of the city, and of Palghar district, Naigaon station, opened in 1956, divides the two sides of Naigaon. Juchandra, counted as part of Greater Naigaon, is joined to it by the Naigaon–Juchandra link road. Leave room after the school ride home and a meal before the tuition hour.

Naigaon East: a developing area of newer apartment projects and commercial buildings. For a Class 10 student, start the search early and ask how often the tutor will set a timed paper under exam conditions.

Naigaon West: long-standing family homes and flats towards Umela, close enough to Vasai West for tutors from either side. HSC commerce students should name the subjects they need, such as accounts, economics or maths, since one tutor rarely covers them all equally well.

Juchandra: a village on the eastern edge, with older houses and newer buildings along its roads. Fewer tutors live here, so agree two fixed weekdays, keep a weekend class in reserve for any missed one, and write "Juchandra, Naigaon East" with a road the tutor can follow on a phone map.

Nalasopara: Nalasopara West, Nalasopara East, Samel Pada and Achole

Nalasopara, officially Shurparak Nagar, grew near the ancient port of Sopara and was one of the four councils that formed Vasai-Virar. Nalla Sopara station splits it into a west and an east side. Apartment buildings stand close together on both, so a tutor who lives on your own side is often within easy reach.

Nalasopara West: a large residential area that takes in older neighbourhoods such as Nirmal. At the primary stage the need is usually a steady homework habit rather than extra chapters; tell the tutor whether school runs a morning or an afternoon session.

Nalasopara East: covers many neighbourhoods, among them Achole, Tulinj and Santosh Bhuvan, so give your neighbourhood as well as the building. English, from comprehension to letter writing for the board paper, is a frequent worry; say which part troubles your child most.

Samel Pada (Samelpada): narrow lanes of apartment buildings with family homes behind them, near the Bolinj–Sopara road, so tutors from Virar West can reach it too. For State Board Classes 9 and 10, tell the tutor whether algebra or geometry is the weaker half.

Achole: around Achole Road and Achole Lake, with a garden that residents use as a reference point. The lanes off the road can confuse a first visit, so send a map pin. Biology students with NEET in mind should ask how the tutor links board chapters with entrance-style questions.

Virar West: Bolinj, Agashi and Arnala

Virar station, the northern end of the first regular suburban service in 1867, serves this side. Arnala Fort stands on a small island just off Arnala, where the Vaitarna meets the sea.

Bolinj: apartment buildings around Bolinj Naka. JEE Main students need a steady weekly rhythm of new topics and timed problem sets, so ask how the tutor goes over the problems that went wrong. Name the nearest road, such as the Bolinj–Sopara road or the Agashi road.

Agashi: an old village with its own post office. Some children study in Marathi-medium State Board schools, so ask whether the tutor can teach maths and science in Marathi. A tutor with a vehicle finds the spread-out homes easier, and two short weekday classes suit younger children.

Arnala: the coastal village at the north-western end of the city. Fewer tutors live nearby, so many families pair a home tutor for younger children with online classes for Classes 9 to 12. Share the house name, the road and a map pin, and fix the days before the term starts.

Virar East: Chandansar, Manvelpada and Phoolpada

East of Virar station, apartment buildings fill most roads, with older houses still standing along Chandansar Road. Jivdani Hill rises on this side and is a landmark most people name, together with the Manvelpada lake and the Phoolpada ground.

Chandansar: newer apartment colonies beside older houses along Chandansar Road, with its own branch post office. Addresses here name the colony first, which is the order a tutor finds most useful. Science in Classes 7 to 9 benefits from a tutor who uses drawings and simple experiments at home.

Manvelpada (Manvel Pada): grew around its lake and garden. Many children are in English-medium schools and take Hindi or Marathi as a second language; if that paper is the weak one, ask for a tutor who teaches it.

Phoolpada (Phool Pada, Phulpada): along Phool Pada Road near Virar station. For Class 10, ask the tutor to show a sample month of chapters, tests and revision, and keep one fixed evening slot each week.

Boards, mediums and the entrance years

Children here study on the Maharashtra State Board or in CBSE and ICSE schools, in Marathi or English medium. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education conducts the SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) exams. Palghar district, and so this city, falls under the board's Mumbai division, and mahahsscboard.in is the place for its notices.

Families weighing coaching classes in Virar or Vasai against one-to-one help will find the comparison, with the questions to ask before paying, in home tuition fees in Vasai, Nalasopara and Virar.

Home, online or both

A tutor at the table suits younger children; online classes suit Arnala, Juchandra and Chulne, late slots and specialists who live elsewhere. An online tutor for Vasai-Virar students can join a home plan at any stage, and home tutor or online tutor sets out the wider trade-offs. Mumbai, the neighbouring metro to the south, has its own page at home tutors in Mumbai.

Frequently asked questions

Which parts of Vasai-Virar does this home tuition guide cover?

This guide walks through six zones of Vasai-Virar, from Naigaon in the south to Virar East in the north, and the twenty localities within them. Every locality name links to its own NXTutors page, which shows tutors for that area first and then widens to the zone, the rest of the city and online tutors across India.

What should we tell a tutor about our address in Vasai-Virar?

Tell a tutor which side of the railway line you live on, east or west, then the neighbourhood, the building, the wing and the flat. Add both spellings where they exist, such as Papdy and Papdi, and a landmark like Bolinj Naka, Golani Naka or the Achole lake. In the villages, a map pin saves a search.

Is home tuition in Virar easy to arrange in Agashi and Arnala?

Home tuition in Virar is easiest to arrange around Bolinj and needs more planning in Agashi and Arnala, where homes are spread out. Ask whether the tutor has a vehicle, fix the days well ahead, and consider an online tutor for senior subjects. Younger children often do well with two short weekday visits.

Can we find a tutor in Vasai-Virar who teaches in Marathi?

Yes, NXTutors can look for a tutor who teaches in Marathi when your request names the State Board, the class and the Marathi medium. Ask during the free demo whether they will bring in English terms gradually for later classes. If no suitable home tutor is close by, we suggest online tutors who can teach in Marathi.

Who will teach my child if few tutors live near Juchandra or Chulne?

If few tutors live near Juchandra or Chulne, NXTutors looks at tutors who already travel there, then the zone, the city and online tutors. Many families keep a home tutor for core subjects on fixed weekdays and an online tutor for a specialist subject. Each first class is a free demo.

How does NXTutors check the tutors it suggests in Vasai-Virar?

Tutors in Vasai-Virar who join NXTutors go through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete. It is not a police or background check, so use the free demo to judge the tutor yourself. You see each fee before the demo and can switch tutor later at no cost.
