Mira Road and Bhayandar Home Tuition Guide: Every Zone from Mira Road East and Kashimira to Bhayandar and Uttan

By NXTutors Academic Team 11 min read

Mira-Bhayandar sits at the northern edge of Mumbai, between the Mumbai boundary and Vasai Creek, and most people simply call it Mira Road and Bhayandar. The Western line runs through the middle and splits it into east and west, which is the first thing a tutor needs to know about your address. Below are its seventeen localities in five zones, from Mira Road East to the coastal villages, each linked to its own page.

Landmarks a tutor will recognise

A landmark a tutor already knows does more than a long address. Mira Road and Bhayandar stations are both on the Western line of the suburban railway, with Dahisar to the south and Naigaon across the creek to the north. The Western Express Highway runs along the eastern edge past Kashimira, and Phase 1 of Metro Line 9, open since April 2026, has stations at Miragaon and Kashigaon. In Bhayandar, Navghar Road crosses the east side, Khari Talao is the reference point many residents use, and Uttan Road leads west to the coast.

Mira Road East and Naya Nagar

Most of Mira Road's growth has happened on the east side of the tracks, and this zone is its busiest part. Plenty of tutors live within a short trip; the difficulty is finding the right gate.

Mira Road East: the name most families write first, though it covers many colonies and building clusters. Lead with the colony, then the building, wing and floor, and add a map pin. Working parents often ask for a seven or eight o'clock slot; say so in the request so the tutor can plan the evening.

Naya Nagar: a closely built area just east of the station, along Naya Nagar Road, where lanes can look alike to a newcomer. Name the building, a shop sign the tutor will see and the road it faces. If your child learns in English but speaks Hindi or Urdu at home, mention it; some tutors can explain in both.

Hatkesh Udyog Nagar: usually called Hatkesh, it began as a small-industry pocket and now holds many newer apartment buildings. Families who have moved in recently may also be changing boards, so say which board your child left. Give the point on the main road where your lane turns in.

Kashimira and Mira Gaon

This zone runs along the Western Express Highway, where Mira-Bhayandar meets the northern suburbs of Mumbai. Older village cores sit among newer apartment buildings, and the metro now stops at Miragaon and Kashigaon.

Kashimira: mainly apartment buildings along the highway. Tell the tutor which side of the highway you live on, the building and wing, and a landmark at the turning. Give the real time your child gets home before fixing a slot.

Mira Gaon (Miragaon): the old village that gave Mira Road its name, with Miragaon Road running near its core. Lanes in the gaon are narrower and less regular, so give the house or building name, the lane and something the tutor can ask a passer-by about. Write both spellings if you are unsure which one the tutor will search.

Kashigaon: a neighbourhood of Kashimira named after an older village, now mostly newer buildings, with a metro station of its own. Several complexes look alike from the road, so add the flat number and the road name at the corner.

Penkarpada (Penkar Pada): an older settlement at the southern end of the Kashimira side, close to where the city ends. Name the pada, the lane and a nearby shop, and add a map pin, since older homes may have no wing number. Saying you welcome a tutor from either side of the boundary can shorten the wait.

Bhayandar East and Navghar

The eastern half of Bhayandar lies between the railway and Vasai Creek. Bhayandar has a long history of steel utensil making, and many households run or work in family businesses, so evening slots after shop hours and Sunday mornings come up often.

Bhayandar East: a large mixed area of apartment buildings, older homes and small workshops. Always write "Bhayandar East" with the building, wing and a main-road landmark, or the tutor may head to the west side. Commerce students in Classes 11 and 12 often look for help with accountancy and economics here.

Navghar: grown from the old Navghar Gaon, with Navghar Road as one of the main routes through the east side. There is another Navghar near Vasai across the creek, so write "Navghar, Bhayandar East" every time.

Khari: a residential pocket around Khari Talao, the pond and garden off Navghar Road. Say which side of the pond you live on. Students at junior college on the Science stream here often juggle practical journals and entrance preparation, so share every timetable in the first week.

Bhayandar West and Murdha

West of the railway, Bhayandar is older and closely settled, running from the station area out to the village of Murdha on Uttan Road. Gujarati, Marwari, Hindi and Marathi are all spoken in homes here, and many parents run their own businesses.

Bhayandar West: a wide area of apartment buildings, shops and family homes. Give the road, building, wing and a corner landmark, and write "West" clearly. A common ask is a tutor who teaches in English but can explain in Gujarati or Hindi; put that in the first line of the request.

Murdha (Murdhe, Murda): an old village of Bhayandar West with newer buildings at its edges. Use the spelling your neighbours use, add Bhayandar West, and give a landmark on Uttan Road. Offer to meet the tutor at the corner on the first visit, since older homes may have no flat number.

Devchand Nagar: a residential part of Bhayandar West made up mostly of apartment buildings, often listed with Sripal Nagar. When both parents work, agree who will be home when the tutor arrives, and ask for a short message after each lesson. Add the building, wing and floor to the request.

Narayan Nagar: a compact colony near the centre of Bhayandar, along Narayan Nagar Road. Homes with two school-going children often ask for one tutor for both, which suits children in nearby classes. Give the building and a landmark on Narayan Nagar Road.

Uttan and the Coastal Villages

The western side of the city is a different world from the busy station areas: villages among open ground, salt pans and mangroves, reached along Uttan Road from Bhayandar West. Many families here have worked in fishing and farming for generations. Fewer tutors live out this way, so most families mix online weekday classes with a home visit at the weekend.

Uttan: a coastal village whose day can begin very early. Write the village, the lane or house name and a landmark on Uttan Road. For online lessons, a device with a stable connection and a camera that can show the notebook matters as much as the tutor.

Dongri: a village in the Uttan belt. Mumbai has a far better-known Dongri, so always write "Dongri, Uttan, Bhayandar West". Ask the tutor to call before the first visit so someone can wait outside, and keep maths or science for the weekend home class.

Rai (Rai Village): an old village on the way out towards Uttan, with independent homes and close-knit lanes. Tutors usually come out from Bhayandar West, so a fixed weekly slot matters here. Two lessons back to back, for two siblings or two subjects, make the trip easier to sustain.

Boards, subjects and entrance tests

Children across Mira Road and Bhayandar study on the Maharashtra State Board, CBSE or ICSE, often in English medium, with Marathi medium common in the older villages. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education conducts the SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) examinations; its notices are on mahahsscboard.in. Classes 11 and 12 are spent at junior college in the Science, Commerce or Arts stream. MHT-CET, with PCM and PCB groups, is run by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, while JEE Main and NEET (UG) are conducted by the National Testing Agency.

Many students also attend a coaching class. A home tutor fits beside it well with a narrow brief, such as school chapters, board answer-writing or the week's doubts, and a slot that still leaves time for self-study. Weighing a board change after Class 10? See our board comparison.

Home, online or a mix

A tutor at the table suits younger children; an online class suits late nights, a specialist subject or a home in the coastal villages. An online tutor for Mira-Bhayandar students can join a home plan at any point. For what a quote should cover, read home tuition fees in Mira Road and Bhayandar; for the wider trade-offs, see home tutor or online tutor.

Near the edges, families sometimes look across them. South of the boundary, home tutors in Mumbai cover the western suburbs; north of the creek, see home tutors in Vasai-Virar.

How NXTutors can help

Tell us the class, board, subjects and your locality, with east or west written clearly. We suggest two or three matched tutors, nearest first, then your zone and the rest of the city, and online tutors from across India when they fit the subject better. You see each tutor's fee before the demo, the first class with each tutor is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete, as described on how we check tutors.

Start from home tutors in Mira Road and Bhayandar, use the demo class checklist and book a free demo class. Teachers based in the city can browse family requests on tuition jobs in Mira-Bhayandar.

Frequently asked questions

Which parts of Mira Road and Bhayandar does this guide cover?

This guide covers seventeen localities of Mira Road and Bhayandar in five zones. They are Mira Road East and Naya Nagar, Kashimira and Mira Gaon, Bhayandar East and Navghar, Bhayandar West and Murdha, and Uttan with the coastal villages. Each locality links to its own page, with address tips, timing notes and the tutors we can suggest there.

Why does east or west matter so much in a tuition request here?

East or west matters because the Western line splits both Mira Road and Bhayandar in two, and a tutor on the wrong side has to cross back. Write "Mira Road East", "Bhayandar East" or "Bhayandar West" in full, then the building, wing and a landmark. For Navghar and Dongri, add the zone too, since places with the same names exist nearby.

Can a tutor from the Mumbai side teach us in Kashimira or Penkarpada?

Yes, a tutor living in the nearby Mumbai suburbs can often reach Kashimira or Penkarpada, because both sit close to the boundary. Say in your request that you welcome a tutor from either side, and give the side of the highway and a landmark at your turning. That one line can widen the shortlist, especially for senior science or commerce subjects.

We live in Uttan; how do families there manage tuition?

Families in Uttan usually combine online classes on weekdays with a home visit at the weekend, because fewer tutors live in the coastal villages. Ask for a fixed weekly slot and agree what happens on holidays. Set up a quiet table and a device whose camera can show the notebook, so written work can be checked properly online.

Can we find a Maharashtra State Board tutor through NXTutors here?

Yes, NXTutors can find a Maharashtra State Board tutor in Mira Road or Bhayandar when you give the class, the subject and the medium of instruction. We shortlist tutors who teach SSC or HSC courses, nearest first. If nobody suitable lives close by, we suggest online tutors who know the State Board, so lessons follow the textbook.

What happens if no home tutor lives near our building?

If no home tutor lives near your building, NXTutors widens the search step by step: your zone, then the rest of Mira-Bhayandar, then online tutors from across India. Many families keep one nearby home tutor for maths or science and add an online specialist for another subject. Either way, the first class with each tutor is a free demo.
