Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE families in Mira Road and Bhayandar are a smaller group than State Board or CBSE families, and they often say the same thing: the council's papers reward long, well-written answers, and that is exactly where a child who speaks Hindi, Gujarati or Marathi at home can lose marks while knowing the content. This page explains how the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations groups subjects at Class 10, what the maths and science papers want, the ISC rules that bind students in Class 11, and the three roads open after the ICSE. It also covers how tutors reach homes from Devchand Nagar to Uttan. The cross-city overview is on our ICSE home tutor hub page.
In a CISCE school, history, geography, biology and even parts of physics are answered in full sentences, and examiners read for clarity as well as content. A student who has the right idea but writes it in three broken lines scores less than one who explains it in a clear paragraph. In middle school this shows most in English literature: reading a poem or a chapter closely, quoting accurately and building a long answer.
A useful tutor marks the content and the English of each answer separately, so your child sees which one cost the marks. One written answer a week, corrected and rewritten, does more than a stack of guide-book notes. If your child follows ideas more easily in the home language, ask for a tutor who explains in it when needed but insists on the written answer in English. Our English home tutors in Mira-Bhayandar page covers this in more depth.
| Group | Contents | Written paper : internal |
|---|---|---|
| Group I, taken by everyone | English, a second language, and History, Civics and Geography | 80 : 20 |
| Group II, two or three subjects | A pick from a list that covers Mathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, Environmental Science and languages beyond the first two | 80 : 20 |
| Group III, one subject | One practical-leaning subject; Computer Applications, Art, Physical Education and the Economic or Commercial Applications papers are among the choices | 50 : 50 |
Half of the Group III marks come from work done during the year. A child who keeps those projects moving month by month collects marks that a last-minute rush throws away.
For ICSE Mathematics, the written exam is one paper out of 80. The other 20 marks come from a minimum of two assignments, each assessed by the child's own teacher and also by an examiner from outside the school. Topics stretch from money matters such as banking and shares to algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, and examiners credit each stage of working. A right answer with missing steps is a common way to drop marks.
The three sciences are examined apart, Physics, Chemistry and Biology each on its own 80-mark paper, and each carries 20 practical marks awarded in school. Doing well in physics says nothing about biology, so find out at the start whether a single tutor is strong in all three, or whether the subject your child finds hardest deserves a separate teacher. The council publishes specimen papers and a subject-wise Analysis of Pupil Performance, and a tutor should be working from both.
In ISC Mathematics, 80 marks sit on the theory paper and 20 on a project, in Class 11 and again in Class 12. For a closer look, read the ISC maths tutor page or our guide to ICSE and ISC maths.
A Mira-Bhayandar student finishing Class 10 usually weighs three roads. Staying with ISC keeps the council's answer style, with deeper electives and more project work. Moving to CBSE brings NCERT books and shorter, textbook-close answers; see our CBSE home tutors in Mira-Bhayandar page. Joining a junior college on the Maharashtra State Board means the HSC, with its own subject list, evaluation schemes and practical journals, set out on mahahsscboard.in and on our Maharashtra Board tutors in Mira-Bhayandar page.
Whichever road your child takes, use the weeks after the Class 10 exam to read the first chapters of the new course and a few of its papers. The ISC subject lock comes early in Class 11, so settle the road before the new term rather than trying a few weeks and switching. Our post on choosing a board and stream may help. Students heading for entrance exams can read our JEE and NEET pages for the city.
Some children in Mira-Bhayandar move from a Marathi-medium school to an English-medium one, often between Classes 5 and 8, and an ICSE school is sometimes the new one. The subject is rarely the problem; the words are. A child who knew photosynthesis in Marathi has to relearn every term and then write long answers with them. A tutor for that move should rebuild subject vocabulary slowly, chapter by chapter, before worrying about speed, and keep a small glossary that the child adds to each week. Ask in the demo how the tutor would teach one science chapter to a child changing medium.
| Stage | Main job | Tutor's focus |
|---|---|---|
| Classes 6 to 8 | Reading and writing habits | One long answer a week; literature read aloud and discussed |
| Class 9 | The Class 10 syllabus begins in earnest | Group II choices understood; Group III projects started on time |
| Class 10 | The ICSE papers | Specimen papers marked the council's way; revision in rounds |
| Class 11 | ISC electives fixed | The new subject load and its practicals |
| Class 12 | The ISC papers and projects | Projects finished early; theory practised under time |
Revise in rounds: a first pass through every chapter, a second on the weak ones, and a third with timed papers. One long sweep at the end leaves the early chapters cold. A simple chart on the wall, listing each chapter and the date of its last round, lets a parent who gets home late see at a glance where things stand, without needing to know the subject. It also gives the tutor and the family one shared picture of the term, which matters when a school test week or a family function moves a session. Ask the tutor to update the chart at the end of each lesson; it takes a minute and saves a long conversation later.
| Locality | What families here often ask for | What to send |
|---|---|---|
| Devchand Nagar | English literature and long answers in middle school | Building, wing and floor, and who will be home |
| Narayan Nagar | ISC humanities or Commerce electives that are harder to staff | The exact electives, and a Narayan Nagar Road landmark |
| Murdha | Help for a child moving from Marathi to English medium | Murdha, Bhayandar West, the lane and an Uttan Road landmark |
| Khari | ISC science beside entrance preparation | Which side of Khari Talao, plus building and wing |
| Dongri | Online lessons on weekdays, a weekend visit for maths | Dongri, Uttan, Bhayandar West, so it is not confused with Mumbai's Dongri |
| Uttan | A mix of online and weekend home lessons | Village, lane or house name, and a landmark on Uttan Road |
The Bhayandar West and Murdha and Uttan and the Coastal Villages zone pages say more, and every locality is on our Mira-Bhayandar home tutors page and in the Mira-Bhayandar home tuition guide.
Long-answer subjects work well online, because an answer can be typed or photographed, marked and returned the same evening. Maths and the practical side of the sciences usually go better at the table. With fewer ICSE and ISC specialists close by than for other boards, an online tutor from Mumbai or elsewhere is often the right call for electives. See online tuition in Mira-Bhayandar, and the city's maths, physics, chemistry and biology pages.
If the match is wrong, we arrange another demo; switching tutor later costs nothing.

Most often the written English is costing the marks, not the content. Council examiners read for clear, complete sentences in history, geography and the sciences. Ask the tutor to mark content and English separately, and to have your child rewrite one corrected long answer each week until the pattern changes.
Yes, many Bhayandar families ask for exactly that arrangement, and it works well. The tutor explains a stuck idea in Gujarati or Hindi, then has your child write the full answer in English. Mention the home language in your request so the match can include tutors who speak it.
Physics, Chemistry and Biology are examined as three separate 80-mark papers, each with 20 marks of practical work assessed in school. Strength in one does not help the others, so ask at the start whether a single tutor is strong in all three or the hardest subject needs its own teacher.
Half of the Group III marks come from work done during the year, because that group is split 50 : 50 between the written paper and internal work. Subjects there include Computer Applications, Art and Physical Education. Keep projects moving month by month rather than leaving them to the end of Class 10.
ISC subject choices are locked after a cut-off date the council sets during the Class 11 registration year. After that the list cannot change, and nothing can be started in Class 12 that was not studied in Class 11. Decide the electives before term begins, not after a trial.
All three are workable, and the choice depends on the student's plans and answer style. ISC keeps the council's long-answer approach, CBSE moves to NCERT and shorter answers, and an HSC junior college follows the Maharashtra State Board's schemes and journals. Use the weeks after Class 10 to sample the new course.
A tutor helps most by rebuilding subject words in English slowly, chapter by chapter, before speed matters. Keep a weekly glossary your child adds to, and practise one long answer at a time. In the demo, ask how the tutor would teach one science chapter to a child changing medium.
Yes, online lessons are often the sensible choice in Dongri and Uttan, where fewer tutors live. Long answers can be photographed, marked and returned the same evening, while a weekend home visit can cover maths. For Dongri, write Dongri, Uttan, Bhayandar West so it is not confused with Mumbai.
Send the class, whether it is ICSE or ISC, the subjects, your locality with a landmark and your free hours. You receive two or three matched tutors with fees shown upfront, the first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
