Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Ask a junior-college student in Mira Road and Bhayandar about chemistry, and the reply is often lopsided: organic is fine but physical is a mess, or the numericals are easy and the inorganic facts will not stick. That is normal. The subject is three crafts in one, calculation, a web of reactions and reasoned memory, and NEET, JEE Main and MHT-CET test all three while the board paper asks for written explanations as well. A home tutor earns their place by spotting the weak branch early and repairing it before the next chapter builds on it. Tell NXTutors the board, the entrance goal and your building. Our reply names two or three chemistry tutors, fees visible, and your first class with one of them is a free demo.
| Exam | How big chemistry is | How it is asked | Strength it tests |
|---|---|---|---|
| HSC (State Board) | A whole subject across two junior-college years | Theory and practical under the board's current scheme | Written answers in the book's terms; a complete journal |
| CBSE Class 12 | 70 theory marks and 30 practical | 33 questions, five sections, no calculator and no log table | Reasons stated clearly; sums worked by hand |
| NEET (UG), 2026 | 45 questions out of 180, so a quarter of 720 marks | Pen-and-paper multiple choice; four marks for right, one off for wrong | Word-exact NCERT recall, especially inorganic |
| JEE Main, 2026 Paper 1 | 25 questions, of which 5 have a numerical answer | Same plus-four, minus-one marking | Reaction mechanisms and long physical problems |
| MHT-CET | Set out by the State CET Cell | On cetcell.mahacet.org | Check the Cell's syllabus directly |
Each year NTA can change its pattern, so a plan should be built from the bulletin on nta.ac.in rather than last year's memory. For the medical route, read the NEET chemistry tutor page and our NEET home tutor in Mira-Bhayandar page.
On the State Board, Standards XI and XII chemistry is taught at junior college, and plenty of students add MHT-CET to the year. Both Marathi-medium and English-medium schools are recognised by the board. In a city where families speak Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu and Marathi at home, a child can grasp an idea in one language and then have to write it in another. Three questions sort tutors quickly:
HSC chemistry marks are deliberately left off this page; mahahsscboard.in carries the scheme that applies. Other State Board subjects are on our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Mira-Bhayandar page.
CBSE kept last session's design for 2026-27 and gave each of the ten theory chapters a fixed mark. Grouped by branch, the 70 theory marks split 33 organic, 23 physical and 14 inorganic:
| Branch | Chapter marks | How to practise |
|---|---|---|
| Organic, 33 in all | 8 for aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids; 7 for biomolecules; 6 each for haloalkanes and haloarenes, for alcohols, phenols and ethers, and for amines | A conversion map rebuilt from memory each week, adding one reaction at a time |
| Physical, 23 in all | 9 for electrochemistry; 7 each for solutions and chemical kinetics | A single numerical per session, arithmetic done on paper and every unit carried |
| Inorganic, 14 in all | 7 each for the d- and f-block elements and for coordination compounds | Quick spoken questions on NCERT statements, always followed by the reason |
Five lettered sections hold the 33 questions, a few of them with internal choice. With calculators and log tables both banned, electrochemistry and kinetics problems should be practised with friendly numbers by hand. Slightly under half the marks reward recall and understanding, and the larger share asks students to apply, analyse or evaluate. Chapter-by-chapter notes are in our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide; a board-year timetable is on the Class 12 chemistry tutor page.
The 2026-27 Class 12 course has dropped the solid state and the p-block Groups 15 to 18. Another four topics stay in the course but are marked only by the school: polymers, surface chemistry, chemistry in everyday life, and how elements are isolated. So six areas never appear on the board paper.
That is a board decision, not an entrance one. NTA writes its own syllabus, and something missing from the board paper may still be asked in NEET or JEE Main. Plan board revision from CBSE's list and entrance preparation from the current NTA syllabus.
A good session tracks what college or coaching covered that week instead of racing ahead, and it tends to move through four short stages:
The reasoning, almost all of it. CBSE builds its 30 practical marks from five parts: 8 for the titration, 8 for salt analysis, 6 for an experiment based on the content, 4 for the project, and 4 shared between the record and the viva. For this session the titration pairs potassium permanganate with either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and every student prepares the standard solution personally by weighing and dissolving it. On the State Board, its own practical rules apply.
Without any glassware, a tutor can still drill the molarity calculation from a weighed mass, the columns of a burette table, the order of tests in salt analysis, and classic viva questions, for example why permanganate needs no added indicator. Picking a project the student can honestly complete alone is part of that same work.
Tutors for every locality are listed on our Mira-Bhayandar page. A first evening visit goes smoothly when the tutor knows these details:
In the weeks before pre-boards, switching one visit a week to a screen class can save revision time. More local help is on the Mira Road East and Naya Nagar and Bhayandar East and Navghar zone pages and in the Mira-Bhayandar home tuition guide.
ISC chemistry is assessed by CISCE through a project and practical work besides the theory paper, and the examiner looks for explanation rather than one-line statements. The IB Diploma course, SL or HL, is organised around structure and reactivity; the internal investigation belongs to the student, and a tutor may question but must not write any of it. Cambridge IGCSE chemistry has Core and Extended entries; our Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE comparison sets the two boards side by side. Specialists are scarce in any one neighbourhood, so say the course in your first message. An online tutor, or one who comes from the Mumbai side of the boundary, often fills the gap.
Mole calculations, bonding, equilibrium and the first organic chapters come back again and again in Standard XII and in every entrance paper. A student who coasts through them in Standard XI ends up relearning them in the board year while new chapters arrive. Even one session a week from the start of Standard XI usually costs far less time and worry than a rescue in the final months. Students who switched board after Class 10 gain most, because the first weeks can go on closing the gaps. The Class 11 chemistry tutor page explains how.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own charges. To compare fairly, ask each one which branch they like teaching most, how they would share the week between board and entrance work, and whether a busy week could move online. You see every fee on the shortlist before the demo, and the Mira-Bhayandar home tuition fees guide has more questions.
Send the standard, the board, any entrance exam, the branch that worries your child most, the days already taken by college or coaching, your building and locality with a landmark, and your free evenings. Our shortlist lists two or three chemistry tutors and what each charges; a free demo follows with your pick. A poor match simply means a demo with someone else, and a change later in the year is free. When no suitable tutor can come to you, classes can move wholly or partly online, as described under online tutors for Mira-Bhayandar. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Related pages in this city: physics and biology. NXTutors needs the standard, board, entrance test, the chemistry branch that worries your child, college and coaching days, your building and locality, and free evenings. CBSE Class 12 chemistry theory for 2026-27 splits its 70 marks into organic 33, physical 23 and inorganic 14. Electrochemistry is the largest single chapter at 9, and aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids follow at 8. Neither a calculator nor log tables are allowed, so numericals need hand practice.
The solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block are out of the 2026-27 course, and four more topics are school-assessed only. NTA writes its own syllabus, so any of these may still appear in NEET or JEE Main. Plan entrance work from the current NTA syllabus.
In 2026, chemistry made up 45 of the 180 NEET (UG) questions and 25 questions in JEE Main Paper 1, five with numerical answers. Both NTA tests gave four marks for right answers and deducted one for wrong ones. NEET leans on exact NCERT recall; JEE Main leans on mechanisms and longer physical problems.
The 30 CBSE chemistry practical marks are volumetric analysis 8, salt analysis 8, a content-based experiment 6, the project 4, and record with viva 4. At home a tutor can rehearse molarity working, burette tables, the order of salt analysis tests and common viva questions about permanganate titration.
An HSC chemistry student should ask which language written practice will use, which book the tutor teaches from, and how the journal will stay on schedule. Discussion can happen in Hindi, Gujarati or Marathi, but names, equations and reasons must be practised in the paper's language, from the State Board textbook.
Starting in Standard XI matters because moles, bonding, equilibrium and early organic chapters return throughout Standard XII and every entrance paper. Even one weekly session from the start usually costs less effort than a rescue in the final months. Students who changed board after Class 10 gain most from an early start.
A good weekly chemistry session has the student explain the topic aloud with the book shut, then works one physical numerical slowly. Next comes a page of organic conversions from memory, then two "give reasons" answers corrected on the spot. It follows what college or coaching taught that week.
In Naya Nagar, give the building name, the shop sign beside it and the road it faces, since lanes look alike. In Mira Gaon, give the lane, the house or building name and a landmark, and write both Mira Gaon and Miragaon. A phone call near the corner helps on the first visit.
