What home tuition costs in Mira Road

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Example only, not a quote: one subject, one-hour classes, 4 weeks a month. Your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
Classes a week Classes a month At ₹800 an hour At ₹2,500 an hour
2 8 ₹6,400 a month ₹20,000 a month
3 12 ₹9,600 a month ₹30,000 a month

Why one-to-one home tuition costs more than group coaching

In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Home tuition in Mira Road and Bhayandar: a family's guide from Kashimira to Uttan

Looking for a home tutor in Mira Road? Send NXTutors the class, the board, the subjects and your building, and we come back with two or three matched tutors who teach one-to-one, either at your home anywhere in Mira Road and Bhayandar or online. You see each tutor's fee before anything is booked, the first lesson is a free demo, and if the fit turns out wrong later, switching tutor is free. Mira-Bhayandar (Mira Road) sits in Thane district, just north of Mumbai, and the Western line cuts it into an east side and a west side. Mira Road East, Naya Nagar and Hatkesh form the busy southern half, with Kashimira and Mira Gaon along the Western Express Highway. Bhayandar East and Navghar run up towards Vasai Creek, Bhayandar West and Murdha lie across the tracks, and the old villages of Uttan, Dongri and Rai face the sea. Homes speak Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Urdu, Marwari and more, so two things decide a good match here: a tutor who can reach your side of the line on time, and one who can explain in the language your child thinks in.

What should a Mira Road or Bhayandar family put in a tutor request?

Give your child's class, board and medium; the subjects that cause the most trouble; the area, building, wing and floor, with a landmark at the turning; the evenings or weekend hours that are genuinely free; and whether the tutor should come home, teach on a screen or do a little of each. A rough monthly budget helps too. You then get two or three matched tutors, every fee is visible before you meet anyone, and the opening lesson with your chosen tutor is a free demo. Four local details shape who appears on that list:

  • East or west of the railway line. The tracks divide the city into two sides. A tutor based in Bhayandar West reaches Murdha or Narayan Nagar far more easily than Hatkesh, so say clearly which side you live on.
  • When a parent is actually home. Many parents in Mira Road and Bhayandar travel into Mumbai for work and get back late. If the realistic start is seven or eight in the evening, write that, rather than accepting a slot that nobody can keep.
  • The language of explanation. A child may study in English at school and think in Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu or Marathi at home. Name both, so we can look for a tutor who switches when a step does not land.
  • Building access. Most homes here are flats, so pass the tutor's name to the watchman before the first visit.

Treat the demo as an ordinary lesson on the current chapter. If it does not feel right, the next tutor on the shortlist gets a turn.

Coaching classes, tuition classes or a home tutor in Mira Road?

Plenty of parents begin by searching for coaching classes in Mira Road, and for some children a group class is exactly right. A coaching or tuition class teaches a batch of students from a set timetable at a pace the teacher decides. That works for a student who is already steady, enjoys learning beside classmates and wants weekly tests with a structure around them. A one-to-one tutor, at home or online, follows one child: the lesson can pause on the exact line of working that went wrong, drop back to a Class 6 idea if that is the real gap, and explain it again in Hindi or Gujarati when English words get in the way.

  • A batch class usually suits a confident student who keeps up, likes regular test practice with peers and is happy to ask doubts in front of a room.
  • A personal tutor usually suits a child who has slipped behind, lost heart after a poor result, moved from another state's board, changed medium, or stays silent in a group.
  • Using both works when the tutor has a defined job: clearing the week's doubts, covering school subjects the class leaves out, or checking long written answers line by line.

To be clear, we do not run batches or a classroom anywhere in Mira-Bhayandar. We match your child with one tutor who teaches one-to-one, in your flat or online. Whichever route you are weighing, ask the same two questions: what happens when my child does not understand something, and how will I hear about progress? With us you can judge both during the free demo, with the tutor's fee already in front of you, and you are free to change tutor later.

Mira-Bhayandar in five zones

Suggestions for Mira-Bhayandar come from the tutor profiles listed with us, and 17 localities here have a page of their own. Each page sorts tutors in the same fixed order: people who live in that locality, then people who already travel there, then the rest of the zone, then the whole city, then online tutors. For home visits we group the city into five zones, starting in the south-east by the Mumbai boundary and ending on the coast: Mira Road East and Naya Nagar, Kashimira and Mira Gaon, Bhayandar East and Navghar, Bhayandar West and Murdha and Uttan and the Coastal Villages. We drew these groups for tutor travel; they are not the municipal corporation's wards.

Mira Road East and Naya Nagar: the busy side of Mira Road station

Most of Mira Road's growth has happened east of the tracks, and this zone is where that growth is thickest. Mira Road East is the name families give first, but it spreads over many colonies and clusters of apartment buildings, so the colony and building matter far more than the area name. Naya Nagar, just east of the station along Naya Nagar Road, is closely built, with shops on the ground floors and homes above, and its lanes look alike to a newcomer. Hatkesh Udyog Nagar, usually shortened to Hatkesh, began as a pocket of workshops and small industry and now holds many newer apartment buildings beside the older units.

Mira Road station sits on the Western line between Dahisar and Bhayandar, and it is the reference point most people use. Because the zone is so closely built, a tutor living here can often teach two or three families in one evening. The catch is timing: with many parents returning from Mumbai late, evening slots after seven fill first. Ask early, keep one weekend morning as a backup, and on a night when everyone is tired, swap a home visit for a short online session instead of cancelling.

Kashimira and Mira Gaon: along the highway at the Mumbai edge

Kashimira lies along the Western Express Highway, where the city meets Mumbai's northern suburbs, and most of its homes are apartment buildings. Mira Gaon, also written Miragaon, is the old village core that gave Mira Road its name, through the Mira Gram Panchayat; long-time families there often speak Marathi at home while newer neighbours may not. Kashigaon is a neighbourhood of Kashimira named after an older village and now filled mostly with recent buildings, and Penkarpada, also spelt Penkar Pada, is an older settlement at the southern end of this side, where older homes stand beside new blocks.

The first phase of Metro Line 9, from Dahisar East to Kashigaon, opened in April 2026 with stations at Miragaon and Kashigaon, which gives tutors living on the Mumbai side another way in. So say in your request that a tutor from the nearby Mumbai suburbs is welcome, and the pool widens at once. Tell us which side of the highway you are on. In the older lanes of Mira Gaon and Penkarpada a house may have no wing or flat number, so give the lane and a shop nearby, and expect a quick phone call from the corner on the first visit.

Bhayandar East and Navghar: up towards Vasai Creek

Bhayandar East is the large, mixed area east of the line in the northern half of the city, with Vasai Creek beyond its northern edge; apartment buildings, older homes and small workshops sit close together. Navghar grew out of the old village of Navghar Gaon, and Navghar Road is one of the main routes through the eastern side. Khari is the residential pocket around Khari Talao, the pond and garden that residents use for directions; the corporation's ward committee office for this part of the city stands at Khari Talav on B.P. Cross Road.

Bhayandar has a long history of making steel utensils, and many households here run or work in a family business. That shapes the requests: Commerce subjects for Classes 11 and 12, lessons after shop hours or on Sunday mornings, and steady board preparation for Classes 9 and 10. Bhayandar station, on the Western line between Mira Road and Naigaon, is the other big landmark. One naming point saves wasted trips: there is also a Navghar near Vasai across the creek, so always write Navghar, Bhayandar East, and in Khari, say which side of the pond you live on.

Bhayandar West and Murdha: the older side of Bhayandar

Bhayandar West, west of the tracks, is the older and more closely settled side of Bhayandar, largely residential, with many Gujarati- and Marwari-speaking families alongside Hindi and Marathi speakers, and plenty of parents who run their own businesses. Murdha, also spelt Murdhe or Murda, is one of the old villages here; Raigad-Murdhe joined the municipal area in 1990, and the corporation still keeps a divisional office on Uttan Road. Devchand Nagar is a residential pocket of apartment buildings often listed together with neighbouring Sripal Nagar, and Narayan Nagar is a compact colony along Narayan Nagar Road, close to the station.

Parents on this side tend to know what they want and say it plainly: lessons in English with explanations in Gujarati or Hindi, help with English writing for children who rarely speak it outside school, or one tutor for two siblings. Write West in the address every time, so nobody crosses the line by mistake. In Murdha, use the spelling your neighbours use and add a landmark on Uttan Road. Where both parents work, agree before the first paid lesson who will open the door, and ask the tutor for a two-line message after each session.

Uttan and the Coastal Villages: the western shore

Uttan is the coastal village on the western side of the city, reached from Bhayandar West along Uttan Road, and many families there have worked in fishing and farming for generations. Dongri is a village in the same belt, set among open land, and it joined the municipal council together with Uttan in 1990. Rai, often listed as Rai Village, sits along the way out from Bhayandar and keeps its independent homes and close lanes. Salt pans and mangroves fill much of the land between these villages and the rest of the city.

Fewer tutors live out here, and the trip from Mira Road is long, so the arrangement that lasts is usually a mix: online classes on weekdays and a home visit at the weekend for the subject that needs a person at the table. A fixed weekly slot matters more here than anywhere else, and two lessons back to back, for two siblings or two subjects, make the journey worthwhile. Mumbai has a better-known Dongri, so write Dongri, Uttan, Bhayandar West. For online work, a laptop or tablet, a steady connection and a camera angled at the notebook make a real difference.

State Board, CBSE, ICSE or international: what should a tutor in Mira-Bhayandar know?

Children across Mira Road and Bhayandar study on the Maharashtra State Board, CBSE or the CISCE papers, and a smaller number follow an international programme. Before anyone is suggested we check the board, the medium and any recent switch, because the same chapter is taught and marked differently in each.

BoardWhat it involvesA fair question for the tutor
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) The SSC examination after Class 10, then the HSC examination after Class 12 in Science, Commerce or Arts. Do you teach from the current state textbook in my child's medium, and practise answers the way the board marks them?
CBSE NCERT books at the centre, with sample papers and marking schemes for the board classes. Will we finish each NCERT chapter properly before moving to extra question banks?
CISCE: ICSE at Class 10, ISC at Class 12 A wide spread of subjects tested through long written answers, English with set literature, and project work. How will you plan the year so that literature and projects are not squeezed into the final weeks?
IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE IB combines coursework with final papers; IGCSE preparation leans on past papers, mark schemes and command words. How will you give feedback on coursework while making sure every word stays my child's own?

A board switch needs its own plan. A child who moves from another state's board, or from CBSE to the State Board at junior college, meets chapters in a different order and a different style of question. Ask the tutor to spend the first weeks finding gaps rather than racing through the new book. Marathi is part of school study in Maharashtra, and children from homes where it is not spoken often find it the hardest paper to keep up with; one extra session a week can steady it. For State Board timetables, patterns and notices, go to mahahsscboard.in rather than a forwarded message, and confirm on that site which divisional board handles your child's school. Our pages for Maharashtra Board tutors in Mira-Bhayandar, CBSE home tutors in Mira-Bhayandar and ICSE home tutors in Mira-Bhayandar go deeper, and IB or IGCSE families usually find the right specialist online.

How does a tutor's job change from primary school to junior college?

Classes 1 to 5: reading, number facts and calm homework

At this age the work is quiet and steady: reading aloud, neat handwriting, quick number facts and homework that gets finished without a fight. Short lessons three times a week beat one long evening. Where English is the school language but not the home language, a little reading together each session pays off in clearer written answers later.

Classes 6 to 10: building towards the SSC or CBSE board

A gap left open in Class 6 tends to become a wall by Class 9. The tutor who helps most starts a little below the current chapter, tests a few older ideas and climbs back up from wherever the child slips. In the board year, the work moves to timed papers and full written answers. For students on any board, our Class 10 Maths preparation plan and Class 10 Science notes cover the core ideas from NCERT.

Classes 11 and 12: junior college speeds things up

In Maharashtra these two years are spent at junior college, with practical journals to complete and, for many, entrance preparation alongside. A tutor who can see the college timetable, the journal deadlines and the test days can plan around them instead of adding one more load. Our posts on Class 12 Physics strategies and Class 12 calculus and algebra suit this stage.

Which subjects do families in Mira Road and Bhayandar ask tutors for?

Maths and Science carry most requests from Class 6 upwards, but tutors listed with us cover much more: English, Marathi and Hindi, Social Science, Computer Science, and the HSC Commerce papers such as Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies, which come up often in Bhayandar's business households. For a primary child, one tutor can usually manage every subject. The core subjects each have a page for the city: maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English.

What marks out a capable subject tutor? In Maths, they trace a wrong answer back to the first line that went astray, even when it belongs to an earlier year. In Physics, they get the student to describe what is happening in plain words before a single formula is written. In Chemistry, they keep numericals, reactions and facts moving together every week, the approach our Class 12 Organic and Inorganic Chemistry guide follows. In a city where so many homes speak another language, parents often raise English first, and they usually mean confidence: a weekly piece of writing returned with corrections, and speaking without freezing. Our spoken English guide gives practice between lessons.

How can a personal tutor help with MHT-CET, JEE or NEET?

For a Science student in Mira-Bhayandar, the HSC is rarely the only target. MHT-CET, Maharashtra's entrance test for professional courses, is run by the State Common Entrance Test Cell and has a PCM group and a PCB group. The National Testing Agency conducts JEE Main and NEET (UG), and JEE Main is the route to JEE Advanced for those who qualify. Tell the tutor which test matters most, since question styles differ. A personal tutor helps most with a clear brief, such as:

  1. Protecting the HSC marks. Full board answers, written step by step with units, get little practice in entrance drills, so someone needs to keep them sharp.
  2. A weekly doubt session. The student brings the problems that beat them that week, and no new topic starts until those are cleared.
  3. Supervised practice in the weakest subject. A regular problem set, checked for method as well as the final answer.
  4. Groundwork in Classes 8 to 10. Secure algebra, ratios and early physics do more for a later entrance attempt than racing ahead.

Patterns and dates come from the official sites only: cetcell.mahacet.org for MHT-CET, nta.ac.in for JEE Main and NEET (UG), and jeeadv.ac.in for JEE Advanced, since details can change from one year's bulletin to the next. See JEE tutors in Mira-Bhayandar and NEET tutors in Mira-Bhayandar, and in our topic-wise plans for JEE Maths, Physics and Chemistry, plus the NCERT-first approach to NEET Biology.

Should lessons be at home or online in Mira-Bhayandar?

A tutor at the same table suits young children, anyone who drifts on a screen, and subjects where you want every line of working on paper. Online lessons open the choice to tutors across India, which matters for IB, IGCSE, an uncommon HSC or ISC subject, or hard problem solving. In Mira Road and Bhayandar, a few local points tip the balance:

  • The railway line. Crossing between east and west adds time to every visit, so for lessons more than once a week, a tutor on your own side usually beats a slightly stronger one across the tracks.
  • Late working days. Where parents come home from Mumbai after dark, one online session in the week keeps the rhythm going without a late visitor at the door.
  • The coastal villages. In Uttan, Dongri and Rai, weekday lessons online with a weekend home visit is the arrangement that tends to last.
  • Monsoon weeks. Monsoon rain can be heavy, so agree at the start that the wettest days move to a screen instead of being dropped.

Many families combine two or three home visits a week with a short video catch-up before a test. Compare the options on online tuition in Mira-Bhayandar and in our home tutor versus online tutor comparison.

What do home tutors in Mira-Bhayandar charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

NXTutors does not fix fees; each tutor sets their own, and you can read every shortlisted fee before the demo. Put the same questions to each tutor:

  • How long is one lesson, and how many a week would you suggest for my child's class?
  • Is entrance-level work charged differently from school-level help?
  • If two of my children learn with you one after the other, how does that change the fee?
  • What happens when either of us misses a lesson, and how is the month settled?

Spend first on the subject that worries you most. We keep the shortlist within the budget you give. For fees by class and subject, see the pricing guide, and for the local picture, our post on home tuition fees in Mira-Bhayandar.

What should you watch for in the free demo class?

A profile earns a place on the shortlist; the demo shows whether the tutor can teach your child. Sit within earshot, or ask your child afterwards:

  • Did the tutor first ask about the school, board, medium and any other classes in the week?
  • Did they test a few questions to find your child's level before teaching anything new?
  • When an English explanation did not land, could they switch to the home language you mentioned?
  • Asked how the SSC, HSC or CBSE paper marks a written answer in this subject, did they answer precisely?
  • Was your child writing and solving for most of the hour, or mostly listening?
  • Can the tutor honestly keep the agreed slot every week, from wherever they live?

Before the first visit, share the building, wing, floor, a landmark and a map pin. Keep lessons in a shared room while an adult is at home. Our demo class checklist for parents and guide to choosing a board and stream help with the next decisions, including the HSC stream after Class 10.

When in the year should tuition start?

Any month works, though the tutor's job changes with the season:

  • The summer break. The most useful window to repair last year's gaps before new chapters arrive; keep lessons to the cooler early or late hours.
  • The monsoon. Fix one steady weekly pattern and keep a video lesson ready for the heaviest days.
  • The festival season. Expect a few lighter weeks, and add sessions before and after them.
  • Winter. Finish the syllabus, then move to full papers and preliminary exams; take board dates only from the board's own notices.
  • After the board papers. Many Science students turn to entrance tests, and younger children can make an early start on next year's basics.

The State Board, CBSE and CISCE do not share one calendar, so follow your own board's schedule.

How do you get started in Mira Road or Bhayandar?

Three steps. Send the class, board, medium and subjects, your building and a landmark, and the hours your child is free. Read through the two or three tutors who come back, fees included, and choose one for the free demo. Then decide after that lesson. To look around first, open your locality from the list on this page, browse tutor profiles, or book a free demo class straight away. Where no home tutor lives close enough yet, an online tutor can start without waiting.

Our Mira-Bhayandar home tuition guide walks through all five zones in turn, from Naya Nagar and Kashimira near the Mumbai boundary to Khari by Vasai Creek and the villages along Uttan Road.

Next door, we cover Mumbai, and our other Maharashtra cities include Vasai-Virar across the creek, Bhiwandi, Kalyan-Dombivli, Pune, Nashik and Nagpur; the cities page lists the rest.
