What home tuition costs in Gulbarga

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Example only, not a quote: one subject, one-hour classes, 4 weeks a month. Your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
Classes a week Classes a month At ₹800 an hour At ₹2,500 an hour
2 8 ₹6,400 a month ₹20,000 a month
3 12 ₹9,600 a month ₹30,000 a month

Why one-to-one home tuition costs more than group coaching

In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Home tuition in Kalaburagi: a parent's guide from Brahmpur to Hirapur

Kalaburagi, also known as Gulbarga, is the headquarters of its district in north Karnataka. It was the first capital of the Bahmani Sultanate from 1347, and the state brought back the older name, Kalaburagi, in 2014, so you will still see both on signboards, bills and school forms. The city spreads out from Jagat Circle: older lanes around Brahmpur and the fort, Ring Road colonies to the east, long corridors along Sedam Road, Aland Road and the Jewargi Road, and the Hirapur side in the west. Kannada and Urdu are the languages heard most at home, and many children add English at school. A good home tutor in Kalaburagi has to fit all of that: the right board, the right language for explaining, and an address they can reach every week.

How does a Kalaburagi family get matched with a tutor?

You send one request, and the more exact it is, the better the match. Tell us your child's class and board, the subjects that worry you, your colony or layout with a cross road and a landmark, the hours your child is really free after school, and whether you want visits at home, lessons online or both. If you have a monthly budget, add it. We reply with two or three matched tutors, and each tutor's fee is shown to you before you meet anyone. The first class with the tutor you pick is a free demo. Four Kalaburagi details shape that shortlist most:

  • Your road, not just your area. Sedam Road, Aland Road and the New Jewargi Road are long, with many layouts along them, so give the layout, the cross and the side of the road.
  • The spelling you use. Brahmpur also appears as Brhampur and Brahmapur, Jayanagar as Jaynagar, and Hirapur as Hirapura. Use the spelling on your address proof, followed by "Kalaburagi" or "Gulbarga".
  • The language that helps your child. A child may speak Kannada or Urdu at home and write exams in English, or attend a Kannada-medium or Urdu-medium school. Tell us which, so the tutor explains in the language your child thinks in.
  • The board and the year. SSLC and II PUC on the Karnataka state syllabus need different preparation from CBSE or ICSE papers. Name the board and the exact class, I PUC or II PUC included.

Treat the demo as a normal lesson. If the fit is wrong, the next tutor on the list gets a turn, and switching tutor later is free as well.

Coaching classes, tuition classes or a home tutor in Kalaburagi?

Most parents here meet this choice early. Older students are often steered towards a coaching centre for PUC science or an entrance test, and younger ones towards a colony tuition class, where one teacher takes a group of children after school. Both suit some children. A group class runs to a fixed timetable, moves through the syllabus at the speed of the whole group and is lighter on each family's pocket, since many students share one teacher's hour. A child who keeps pace, is not shy about asking and enjoys working beside friends can do well there.

One-to-one teaching solves a different problem. The whole hour goes to your child, so the tutor can find the line where a solution went wrong, go back to a Class 8 idea that never settled, or spend a session only on writing a five-mark answer for the SSLC or II PUC paper. Lessons happen at your home or online, at a time that suits you, and you can watch the teaching yourself. There is a cost: a personal tutor usually charges more for an hour than a group class does, and it works only if the tutor can come regularly.

To be clear about what we are: NXTutors does not run coaching or tuition classes in Kalaburagi, and we do not form batches. We match your child with one tutor who teaches only them, at home or online. Some Gulbarga families combine the two. A II PUC science student stays with an entrance-test batch and brings in a personal tutor for board answers and doubts; a Class 7 child leaves a crowded group for someone who slowly rebuilds the basics. When your child needs gaps found and fixed rather than another timetable, one-to-one lessons usually fit better, and the free demo lets you check before you commit.

Kalaburagi in six zones

Matches for Kalaburagi come from our pool of tutor profiles, and 19 Kalaburagi localities have a page of their own. Each page orders tutors the same way: residents of that locality first, next anyone already teaching there, then its zone, the whole city and finally online tutors. For home visits we split the city into six zones: Brahmpur and the City Centre, Fort Area and Aland Road, Adarsh Nagar and the East, Sedam Road and Kusnoor, Kotnoor and Jewargi Road, and Hirapur and the West. The grouping is ours, made from which localities sit beside which, to plan a tutor's travel; it is not the city corporation's ward map, which divides Kalaburagi into 55 wards.

Brahmpur and the City Centre: the closely built heart around Jagat Circle

Jagat Circle is the main junction at the centre of Kalaburagi, and the city corporation's building stands near it. Brahmpur is one of the older, tightly packed parts of the centre, with its name spelt three ways. Khuba Plot lies inside the wider Brahmpur area, and the district's own lists write its addresses as "Khuba Plot, Brhampur". Raghavendra Colony and Vidya Nagar are named among Brahmpur's neighbours, on its quieter western and south-western side.

Being central helps. Tutors from almost every direction can reach these localities, so this is where a specialist for II PUC physics, accountancy or an entrance subject is easiest to find. The catch is that inner roads look alike. In Khuba Plot, write both names with the inner road; in Brahmpur, add the nearest chowk to the spelling on your bill. If your child already attends a coaching class, mention it, so the tutor fills gaps instead of repeating a chapter.

Fort Area and Aland Road: old lanes by the fort, new layouts beyond

The Bahmani-era fort stands on Aland Road, with the Super Market bus stop beside it, and from there the road runs north-west out of the city towards the town of Aland. Kailash Nagar is a residential colony on the fort side, near Raghavendra Colony. Gunj Colony lies past the fort to the north, in an older part of the city. Aland Road itself is lined with colonies and newer layouts on both sides.

In Gunj Colony many parents work long hours, so late-evening or Sunday lessons are a common request; write the slot you need, because not every tutor teaches late. Kailash Nagar's edges are not clearly marked, so give a landmark on the fort side. On Aland Road, name the layout, the cross and your side of the road. Outer layouts may have fewer tutors living nearby, so ask early whether a tutor already travels this way, or whether an online lesson at the same hour would do.

Adarsh Nagar and the East: colonies along the Ring Road

The Ring Road passes through the eastern side of Kalaburagi, and three localities here run into one another. Adarsh Nagar is a residential colony near the Ring Road, with GDA Layout and Azadpur next to it. GDA Layout is a planned layout of numbered plots, so a block or plot number with the cross road usually brings a tutor to the right gate. Azadpur sits on the outer edge, where an older settlement has grown into the city alongside newer houses.

Adarsh Nagar has many CBSE families as well as state-syllabus ones, so tutors here are used to moving between NCERT books and Karnataka textbooks; ask which one a tutor taught most recently. In Azadpur, many children study in Kannada-medium schools, and a tutor who explains first in Kannada and then gives the English exam terms removes much of the fear. Where both parents work, a common plan is two home visits a week plus a short online session for homework doubts.

Sedam Road and Kusnoor: a long corridor to the south-east

Sedam Road runs east from the city through Kalaganur towards Sedam, and Kalaburagi Airport, opened in 2019, lies on it farther out. Jayanagar, also written Jaynagar, has addresses that read "Jayanagar, Sedam Road". The Sedam Road locality covers colonies and layouts on both sides of the road for a long stretch. Kusnoor, off the Kusnoor Road, is an older village with newer layouts around it, and listings name GDA Layout and Sedam Road among its neighbours.

Senior students along this corridor are often working towards NEET, JEE Main or the Karnataka CET while studying for II PUC, so a tutor here should plan the year in blocks and go through every test mistake, not just the score. Kusnoor's newer layouts have many young families, and parents there ask more often for phonics, reading and early maths. Jayanagar is also the name of a part of Bengaluru, so write "Jayanagar, Sedam Road, Kalaburagi" in full, and in Kusnoor say whether you live in the old village or a newer layout.

Kotnoor and Jewargi Road: the south and south-west

Kalaburagi Junction stands on Station Road towards this side of the city. It lies on the Solapur–Guntakal section of the Mumbai–Chennai line, with branch lines to Bidar and Latur, and NH 50 runs south from Kalaburagi towards Jevargi. Kotnoor sits along the New Jewargi Road, where addresses often read "Kotnoor, New Jewargi Road". Santosh Colony is a residential colony nearer the city on the Jewargi Road side, and Daryapur is on the south-western edge, close to Kotnoor and Santosh Colony, where newer layouts are still filling in.

SSLC maths is where many families in this zone first look for help, and II PUC commerce comes up often in Santosh Colony, where steady practice with ledgers and final accounts matters more than one long weekend session. In Kotnoor, say which side of the New Jewargi Road you live on and whether your home is in the old village or a newer colony. In Daryapur, plot numbers may not run in order, so name the nearest bigger colony too, and consider online lessons for older children from the start if few tutors live close by.

Hirapur and the West: around the main bus stand

Hirapur, also written Hirapura, is mapped as a suburb on the west side of Kalaburagi, and the city's main bus station and Jewargi Circle both lie within it, so tutors from many parts of the city can reach it. Biddapur Colony is a settled colony of independent houses and quiet inner roads near Hirapur and the Ring Road. Misbaha Colony lies beyond Hirapur to the north-west, towards the Aland Road side.

In Hirapur, tell the tutor which side of the bus stand you live on and name the nearest circle; in Biddapur Colony, the colony name, the cross and a nearby shop are usually enough. Many families in Misbaha Colony use Urdu, Kannada and English every day, and some children move from an Urdu-medium start into English-medium classes. A patient tutor who keeps a small notebook of English terms for maths and science, numerator, evaporation and the like, beside the word the child already knows, makes that move much easier.

Which board does your child follow: KSEAB, CBSE, CISCE or IB and IGCSE?

Kalaburagi children study under the Karnataka state syllabus, CBSE or ICSE, often in the same lane, and IB or IGCSE families are welcome too. We pin down the syllabus before naming a single tutor, since strength in one paper does not mean experience of another.

BoardExams and focusAsk the tutor
Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) The SSLC examination at the end of Class 10 and the II PUC examination at the end of the second pre-university year, written in the student's medium of study. Which chapters of the state textbook need the most time for my child this year, and how will you use the board's own model papers?
CBSE NCERT books first; Class 10 and Class 12 papers reward using a concept in a new question, not just remembering it. How often will my child write full answers and have them marked the way the board marks?
CISCE: ICSE at Class 10, ISC at Class 12 A broad set of subjects, lengthy written answers, set texts in English and projects. How will revision be shared across the year so nothing piles up at the end?
IB Diploma, Cambridge IGCSE For IB, coursework such as the Internal Assessment and Extended Essay plus final exams; for IGCSE, practice from past papers and their mark schemes. How do you help with coursework so the writing stays entirely my child's?

KSEAB began in 1966 as the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board and took its present name in 2022. Its headquarters are in Bengaluru, and Kalaburagi is one of its four divisional offices, along with Bengaluru, Belagavi and Mysuru. The SSLC is held in March or April, and a repeat examination in June gives students who did not pass another attempt. Patterns, timetables and results change, so read them on kseab.karnataka.gov.in rather than in a forwarded message. Our pages on Karnataka board tutors in Kalaburagi, CBSE home tutors in Kalaburagi and ICSE home tutors in Kalaburagi go deeper, and an IB or IGCSE student is usually matched with an online specialist.

What should a tutor focus on at each stage, from primary to II PUC?

Classes 1 to 7: reading, tables and steady habits

Early on, habits matter more than syllabus: reading aloud daily, tables known by heart, neat working and a finished notebook. Many Kalaburagi children juggle three languages, so a tutor who reads a Kannada or English lesson with the child and checks the meaning landed is worth more than one who races through worksheets. From Class 5, watch fractions, decimals and word problems; these gaps grow quietly.

Classes 8 to 10: building towards the SSLC or Class 10 board

Science splits into three subjects and algebra and geometry take over maths. Settle these chapters in Classes 8 and 9, so the board year goes on revision, not catching up. SSLC students should work from the state textbooks and KSEAB's own material; CBSE students can use our Class 10 Maths plan and Class 10 Science notes.

I and II PUC, or Classes 11 and 12: one specialist per hard subject

After Class 10 the step up is steep: vectors and long numericals in physics, harder chemistry and maths, or accountancy met for the first time. A separate specialist for each tough subject usually works better than one person for all of them. Our Class 12 Physics strategies and calculus and algebra guide are written for CBSE but help any senior science student.

Which subjects can Kalaburagi tutors help with?

Requests from the middle-school years lean towards maths and science, yet NXTutors tutors also take English, Kannada, Hindi, social science, computer science and the commerce subjects, and a primary child can often have one tutor for everything. The core subjects each have a Kalaburagi page: maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English.

One lesson usually shows whether a tutor knows the subject. A maths tutor traces a mistake back to where it started, often in an older chapter, rather than just redoing the sum. A physics tutor asks your child to describe what is happening before any formula, and checks units throughout. A chemistry tutor keeps reactions, numericals and facts in step; our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide is one example. An English tutor builds reading for meaning, grammar in use, letters and essays, and confident speech, which matters a great deal for a child who thinks in Kannada or Urdu but writes every other paper in English.

How can a home tutor help with the Karnataka CET, JEE or NEET alongside PUC?

A II PUC science student usually carries two loads: the board course and at least one entrance test. JEE Main and NEET (UG) are conducted by the National Testing Agency, and JEE Advanced is run separately for those who qualify through JEE Main; every date and rule sits in that year's bulletin on nta.ac.in. The Karnataka CET is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, so check its schedule only on kea.kar.nic.in. A home tutor helps most with one clear job next to school and any coaching:

  1. A fixed doubt hour. The student brings the week's unsolved problems, and nothing new starts until they are cleared.
  2. Board answers kept strong. Diagrams, derivations and long answers still decide II PUC and Class 12 marks, and timed entrance drills rarely train them.
  3. Short timed sets, marked together. A few problems in the weakest subject, checked line by line while the student watches.
  4. One plan for both goals. The textbook syllabus overlaps much of the entrance syllabus, so careful revision serves both papers.

NEET coaching in Gulbarga is a common route for medical aspirants, and a home tutor does not have to replace it. Many students gain most when a tutor takes on the slow, careful reading of the biology textbook and the physics numericals the batch moved past too quickly. See our pages for JEE tutors in Kalaburagi and NEET tutors in Kalaburagi, and judge any tutor by the plan they make with your child, never by talk of ranks.

Home lessons or online: which works better in Kalaburagi?

Either can work; it depends on the child and the hour. Visits at home suit children below about Class 6, those who drift on a screen, and subjects where you want to watch the working on paper. Online lessons bring in tutors from across India, useful for IB, IGCSE, rarer ISC electives or harder problem solving. Some local points:

  • Long corridors. On the outer stretches of Sedam Road, Aland Road and the New Jewargi Road, a tutor living in the same corridor matters more than one in the centre. Where none lives close, mix a visiting tutor for one subject with a screen-based tutor for the next.
  • The centre is easy to reach. Brahmpur, Khuba Plot and Hirapur can be reached from most sides, so the choice of home tutors there is wider.
  • Working hours. Where both parents work or keep a shop open late, an early-evening or Sunday lesson often suits; say so in the request.
  • Summer heat. Afternoon travel is hard in the hottest months, so decide in advance that a lesson switches to video on those days instead of being dropped.

For online lessons, use a laptop or tablet rather than a phone, earphones, a quiet table and a notebook kept for that subject, with the camera on and a parent close by in the early weeks. Many families end up with two or three home visits weekly and a brief video check before tests, all with the same tutor. See online tutors for Kalaburagi and our comparison of home and online tutoring.

What do home tutors in Kalaburagi charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

NXTutors does not fix fees. Tutors set their own, and each shortlisted tutor's fee is in front of you before the demo. A number alone says little, so put the same questions to every tutor:

  • How long is each lesson, and how many a week do you advise for this class?
  • Is the fee different for CET, JEE or NEET work than for school support?
  • Does the fee stay the same if some lessons move online?
  • What happens when one of us has to miss a lesson?

Spend first on the subject causing the most worry; one strong tutor there usually achieves more than the same amount split across several subjects. We will not suggest anyone above the budget you give us. The pricing guide gives a class-by-class view, and our post on home tuition fees in Kalaburagi covers local detail.

What should you look for in the free demo class?

A profile helps you shortlist; a real hour of teaching tells you much more. Stay within earshot, or ask your child afterwards:

  • Before teaching, did the tutor ask about school tests, coaching and how the week is filled?
  • Did they check what your child already knows instead of starting at page one?
  • Could they say what their hour adds that school or a batch does not?
  • Was your child at ease with the language used, whether Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, English or a mix?
  • Asked about this year's SSLC or II PUC paper, did they point you to the board's own site?
  • Was your child writing and solving for most of the hour, or mainly listening?
  • Can the tutor truly keep this slot each week from where they live?

Practical details count too. Send the layout, cross, house number and a pinned location the evening before, and if several homes share a gate, say which door is yours. Keep lessons in a shared room while an adult is at home, and agree any house rules on day one. Our demo class checklist for parents has more.

When in the school year should tuition start?

Starting now beats waiting, but each part of the year needs something different:

  • The summer break. A good window to close last year's gaps before new chapters arrive; keep visits to the cooler morning or evening hours.
  • The first term. Set a steady weekly rhythm early, with online lessons agreed as the back-up for rainy or busy days.
  • The festival months. Expect a few lighter weeks, and add hours before and after them.
  • Winter. Finish the syllabus, then move to full papers and preparatory exams, taking dates only from the board's notices.
  • Spring. The SSLC is held in March or April, II PUC and Class 12 papers fall in the same broad season, and JEE Main and NEET (UG) follow close behind. For a student who needs it, the June SSLC repeat examination makes a few focused weeks after the results worthwhile.

Karnataka board families should follow KSEAB's own calendar, which need not match CBSE's or CISCE's. An early start gives the most room, but a later start still helps.

How do you get started in Kalaburagi?

Three steps. Tell us the class, board and subjects, your locality with a cross and a landmark, and the free hours around school. Look over the two or three tutors we suggest, with their fees, and pick one for the free demo. Then decide after that lesson. You can also open your own locality from the list on this page, browse tutor profiles or book a free demo class straight away. If no home tutor lives close enough yet, an online tutor can begin without waiting, and home tuition in Gulbarga can follow once a nearby tutor is free.

For locality-by-locality advice, our Kalaburagi home tuition guide covers all six zones, from Brahmpur and the city centre to Hirapur and the west.

Elsewhere in Karnataka we also cover Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi; the full list is on our cities page.

Home tuition in Kalaburagi: common questions

How much does a home tutor cost in Kalaburagi?

Tutors set their own fees, by class, subject and experience. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. You see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Is NXTutors one of the coaching classes in Kalaburagi (Gulbarga)?

No, NXTutors does not run coaching classes or batches in Kalaburagi. We match your child with one tutor for one-to-one lessons at your home or online. Should my child join tuition classes in Kalaburagi or have a home tutor?

Choose by what your child needs: a group timetable, or one-to-one attention on specific gaps. A tuition class teaches a batch at one pace and costs each family less per hour; a home tutor can stop at the exact step that went wrong and plan around your child's board, KSEAB for SSLC and II PUC, CBSE or ICSE, and the language your child is at ease with. Which areas of Kalaburagi do your tutors cover?

Tutors currently cover 19 areas of Kalaburagi, including Adarsh Nagar, Aland Road, Azadpur, Biddapur Colony, Brahmpur. Each area page lists the tutors nearest to it.

Which boards and exams do tutors in Kalaburagi teach?

CBSE, ICSE and ISC, IB and IGCSE for Classes 6 to 12, plus JEE and NEET preparation, at home or online.
