Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Class 6 science is a set of small activities. Four years later it is circuits, chemical equations and the human heart, examined together in one paper or, on ICSE, in three. Children in Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) reach that point through different books: some use the state textbooks that end in the SSLC, CBSE schools use NCERT, and ICSE schools choose their own titles. Many also learn science words in Kannada or Urdu at home and must write them in English at school. A science tutor here should teach from your child's own book, explain in a language your child follows, and keep to a slot that survives the school week. NXTutors suggests two or three science tutors who fit, shows every fee before you meet, and the first class is a free demo.
The CBSE and ICSE parts carry Aaditya Kashyap's byline. The state-syllabus section is drawn from what the Karnataka board publishes. Knowing the board first saves weeks, since the board settles the chapter order, how long answers run and how a diagram earns marks.
| Route | What the Class 10 exam looks like | Practise from |
|---|---|---|
| State syllabus: SSLC, set by KSEAB | A single 80-mark paper: 13 chapters, 38 questions | Prescribed state textbook first, then KSEAB's current blueprint, question bank and model papers |
| CBSE | Board paper of 39 questions for 80; school-given marks make up 20 more | NCERT, with sample papers and marking schemes from cbseacademic.nic.in |
| ICSE, set by CISCE | Physics, chemistry and biology as three separate papers, each with internal marks | Whichever books the school prescribes, plus CISCE specimen papers |
Before Class 11 a single tutor across the three sciences tends to suit families most. One person sees the whole picture: a physics answer that failed on arithmetic, a biology mark lost to a careless reading. How we match at this stage is set out on the national science home tutor page.
KSEAB holds the SSLC each year, gives students who do not pass a second sitting, and keeps one of its four divisional offices in Kalaburagi itself. In the 2026-27 blueprint, science is a single paper of 80 marks with the same question mix as maths: sixteen questions of one mark, eight of two, nine of three, four of four and one of five. Thirteen chapters are tested, starting with Chemical Reactions and Equations and closing with Our Environment. Chapter weights move between years, so the current blueprint on kseab.karnataka.gov.in should guide the plan, not an old guidebook.
Whatever this year's pattern, three habits pay off:
Our Karnataka board tutor in Kalaburagi page follows a state-syllabus student from Class 9 into the PU years.
Kannada and Urdu are both everyday languages in Kalaburagi, and science is where a gap between home language and exam language first costs marks. A child may understand evaporation, magnetism or digestion perfectly and still stall at "sublimation", "magnetic field lines" or "peristalsis" on the page. A tutor who can explain a stuck idea in the child's stronger language, then insist that the answer, the labels and the units are written in the language of the exam, closes that gap quickly. If this applies, say so in your request; it changes who we suggest. Ask the tutor to keep a running list of new English terms in the back of the notebook, with a one-line meaning and a tiny sketch, and to test five of them every week.
Of the 100 marks, 80 come from the board paper. The school gives the remaining 20, split evenly four ways: periodic tests, multiple assessment, a portfolio, and practical-based subject enrichment. By branch, biology carries 30 of the board marks and chemistry and physics 25 each. By unit the split looks like this:
| Unit | Marks | Practise at home |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical Substances: Nature and Behaviour | 25 | Equations balanced every time; acids, bases and salts learned as patterns, not lists |
| World of Living | 25 | Diagrams labelled from memory; processes explained in the right sequence |
| Effects of Current | 13 | Circuit sums with the formula, the substitution and a unit on each line |
| Natural Phenomena | 12 | Ray diagrams with a ruler, arrows and the correct sign convention |
| Our Environment | 5 | Short revision so these easy marks are not forgotten |
CBSE's 2026-27 sample paper is built from 39 questions. Twenty are one-mark items, some multiple-choice and some assertion–reason; then come six two-mark and seven three-mark questions, three case- or source-based items of four marks, and three long answers of five. Only half the marks test knowledge and understanding. Applying an idea earns 30%, and analysing or evaluating the last 20%, so a memorised answer is not enough. The CBSE Class 10 science notes go through each chapter, and our Class 10 science tutor page plans the board year.
For 2026-27 three topics are assessed by the school rather than in the board paper: evolution; how the periodic table is organised; and electromagnetic induction with motors and generators. Do not skip them. They feed internal marks and come straight back in Class 11. The curriculum also lists 14 experiments that can appear in board questions, so the practical file deserves the same care as a chapter.
The main Class 10 exam is for everyone. After it, CBSE runs an optional sitting where eligible students can try to raise their marks in a maximum of three subjects, and science may be one; only cbse.gov.in announces its dates. Treat the first sitting as decisive; the board-year planner maps the year month by month.
On ICSE the council examines physics, chemistry and biology in separate papers with separate internal marks, and each school chooses its textbooks within the CISCE syllabus. So tuition should rest on the books your child actually uses and the specimen papers CISCE releases, not on an NCERT plan. Precise definitions, and numericals with every step written out, carry most of the marks. Families often want help with only one of the three, commonly from Class 9. Fewer tutors in Kalaburagi specialise in ICSE science than in the state syllabus or CBSE, so ask early and be open to online lessons for one of the papers.
Middle-school science happens between school and dinner, so the tutor's journey to you has to be short and dependable. Browse tutors area by area on our Kalaburagi page.
Raghavendra Colony, west of the centre near Brahmpur, has quieter streets of independent houses, a good setting for a younger child who needs a calm routine; give the cross number and a nearby shop. Khuba Plot sits inside the wider Brahmpur area, with homes above shops and flats on the inner roads. Several of those roads look alike, so name your inner road and a landmark shop.
In Kailash Nagar, north-west of the centre, families on the state syllabus, CBSE and ICSE may share one lane, so tell the tutor the board on day one and give a landmark on the fort side. Gunj Colony, past the fort on the north side, has many parents who work long hours; ask for a later evening slot or a Sunday session if weekdays are full.
Adarsh Nagar, near the Ring Road, has CBSE and state-syllabus families side by side; Class 9 and 10 science is the request parents make most often here, so ask the tutor which of the three sciences they teach most confidently. GDA Layout is a planned grid of numbered plots where both parents often work; a plot number with the cross road finds the house, and a short online doubt session can sit between two home visits.
During the free demo, give the tutor today's school chapter and see whether these habits appear without prompting. Our demo class checklist for parents lists other things to watch. If you are not convinced, another tutor from the shortlist can give a demo, and changing tutor later is free.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Science tutors set their own rates, which usually reflect the class, the trip to your locality and how many lessons you book each week. You can see every fee before the demo, and our Kalaburagi home tuition fees article suggests what to ask.
Tell us the class and board, which science worries your child most, the language they are most at ease in, your locality with a landmark, and the free afternoons. We send two or three science tutors with their fees, and you pick one to meet at a free demo. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Where nobody suitable can travel at that hour, we propose a partly or fully online plan. NXTutors is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India. Planning for Classes 11 and 12? See our physics, chemistry and biology pages, or read the Kalaburagi home tuition guide.

The 2026-27 SSLC science paper is a single 80-mark paper of 38 questions across 13 chapters, from Chemical Reactions and Equations to Our Environment. Sixteen questions carry one mark each, so a Kalaburagi tutor should open lessons with quick oral recall and practise from KSEAB's model papers, question bank and full-mark answer scripts.
Yes, KSEAB lists Kalaburagi among its four divisional offices, alongside Bengaluru, Belagavi and Mysuru. For SSLC students the board publishes subject blueprints, model papers, a question bank and full-mark answer scripts, and it holds a repeat sitting for students who do not pass the main exam. Plan from the current documents on kseab.karnataka.gov.in.
CBSE Class 10 science has an 80-mark board paper and 20 school marks split into four parts of five. In the board paper biology carries 30 marks, and chemistry and physics 25 each. By unit, Chemical Substances and World of Living carry 25 each, Effects of Current 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5.
For 2026-27, three topics are assessed in school rather than in the board paper. They are motors, generators and electromagnetic induction; evolution; and how the periodic table is arranged. These still matter, because they feed internal marks and return in Class 11. CBSE also lists 14 experiments that can appear in board questions.
A good Kalaburagi tutor explains a stuck idea in your child's stronger language, then makes sure answers, labels and units are written in the exam language. A running list of new English terms, each with a one-line meaning and a small sketch and five tested every week, helps words like sublimation or peristalsis stick.
ICSE Class 10 science is three separate papers, physics, chemistry and biology, each with its own internal marks, and schools choose textbooks within the CISCE syllabus. ICSE science specialists are fewer in Kalaburagi than state-syllabus or CBSE teachers, so ask early and consider online lessons for one of the three papers.
CBSE Class 9 science now uses NCERT's Exploration, so an older sibling's notes may follow the previous book. The annual exam is 80 marks plus 20 internal, with matter carrying 27, the world of living 25, motion, force, work and sound 23, and Earth as a system 5. A Kalaburagi tutor should plan from the current book.
A Kalaburagi science tutor should make five habits automatic before the Class 10 board. They are ruled ray diagrams with arrows, circuits in standard symbols, correctly labelled biology figures, balanced chemical equations, and a unit on every line of a numerical. In the free demo, give the tutor today's school chapter and see whether these habits appear unprompted.
In Raghavendra Colony, a quiet colony west of the centre, an hour after school suits younger children, ideally two or three short lessons a week. In Gunj Colony, where many parents work long hours, families often choose a late evening or Sunday slot. In either, give the cross road and a landmark when you book.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
