Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) is one of the four cities where the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board keeps a divisional office, and families on the state route meet it twice: at the Class 10 SSLC and, after two pre-university years, at II PUC. For every paper the board publishes a blueprint that shows the question types, the marks for each and the weight of each unit. A state board tutor should plan from those pages, not from memory. Kannada and Urdu are the main home languages in the city, so this page starts with the SSLC language routes, including Urdu as a first language, and the II PUC Urdu paper. It then reads blueprints that our other Karnataka pages leave out, Logic, Education, Home Science and Electronics, with the practical schemes for the last two, before turning to repeat exams, a year-by-year plan, six localities and what to ask a tutor at the demo.
Set up in 1966 under the name Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board, it was renamed in 2022. It examines Class 10 and Class 12 students of the schools and junior colleges affiliated to it, and it also conducts Karnataka Open School, Diploma in Education, music and commerce examinations. The head office is in Bengaluru, and the divisional offices are in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Mysuru. Registration, admission tickets and results are handled online, and marks sheets can be downloaded through DigiLocker.
Keep two websites bookmarked. kseab.karnataka.gov.in carries everything for the SSLC, from notices to blueprints, while II PUC material lives on the PU examination portal at dpue-exam.karnataka.gov.in. Trust only the current year's documents there, never a forwarded copy.
For the SSLC in 2026–27, the board has posted blueprints for nine first-language papers: Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Sanskrit and two English papers, one of them based on NCERT books. Second-language blueprints exist for English and for Kannada. The three core papers, Mathematics, Science and Social Science, are listed by medium, which matters in a city where children study in more than one.
| First language | Second language | Check before you hire |
|---|---|---|
| Kannada (01K) | English (31E) | Long answers and grammar in Kannada; English composition and grammar |
| Urdu (12U) | English (31E) or Kannada (33K) | Experience with the Urdu first-language blueprint itself, not just fluency in Urdu |
| English (14E or 15E) | Kannada (33K) | Which English paper the school follows; Kannada from the basics if it is new |
| Hindi, Marathi, Telugu or another on the list | One of the two second languages | The paper code printed on the board's list |
Name both languages and the codes in your request, because each pairing is a different set of papers. For English at either level, see our English home tutors in Kalaburagi page.
The board lists an Urdu first-language blueprint (12U) for the SSLC. That file is a scanned image, so open it on the board's site with your child's tutor rather than relying on a summary. After the SSLC, Urdu continues as a language choice in PU. The II PUC Urdu (08) blueprint on the 2026–27 list, still headed 2025–26, opens with 20 one-mark questions and draws on prose lessons, poems, ghazals and qitas. Ghazals carry the largest single weight. The last part is language work: idioms, proverbs and sayings, a little rhetoric, letter writing and translation.
For a tutor, that means three kinds of practice: close reading of each set text with its explanation written in good Urdu, regular recall of poetry with the meaning of each couplet, and short weekly drills in idioms, letters and translation, which are dependable marks when they are practised.
Some children in Kalaburagi start school in Urdu or Kannada medium and move to English medium later. The board's own documents show why medium matters: the SSLC list names a Kannada-medium version of Mathematics and English-medium versions of Science and Social Science. A child who understood fractions or evaporation in one language now meets new words for the same idea. A patient tutor links each new term to the word the child already knows, keeps a short glossary in the notebook and revises it weekly, and insists that written practice uses the language of the exam. In your request, give three things: the language your child studies in, the one they will write the exam in, and the one spoken at home.
The 2026–27 II PUC blueprint list covers languages from Kannada, English and Hindi to Urdu, Arabic, Sanskrit and French, then a long run of subjects: History, Economics, Logic, Geography, Business Studies, Sociology, Political Science, Accountancy, Statistics, Psychology, Education, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Geology, Electronics, Computer Science, Home Science and Basic Mathematics, plus vocational subjects. Tutors for the less common subjects are harder to find, which is why the next four sections read those blueprints closely.
Logic is an 80-mark paper with questions worth one, two, five and ten marks. Four chapters share most of the weight equally: Nature of Induction, the Postulates or Grounds of Induction, the Concept of Cause, and Scientific Method and Hypothesis. The chapter on experimental methods comes next, then Indian Logic, with Probability, Scientific Explanation and Material Fallacies as small chapters. A Logic tutor should teach each method through worked examples the student can explain in their own words, then set one long answer a week on the heavy chapters, since a ten-mark question rewards a definition, the rule, an example and a criticism in clear order.
The Education blueprint, published in Kannada, sets 45 questions of which a student answers 37 for 80 marks. Part A has 20 one-mark items mixing multiple choice, fill in the blanks, matching and one-word answers. Part B asks for 10 of 13 two-mark answers, Part C for 6 of 9 five-mark answers, and Part D for one ten-mark answer from three. The marks are spread over ten units, and no single unit dominates. With so many short answers, Education rewards a student who revises definitions and key points across every unit rather than gambling on a few chapters. A Kannada-medium tutor who has taught the subject is the natural fit.
Home Science has a 70-mark theory paper in four parts: 20 one-mark questions, 5 of 8 two-mark, 5 of 8 three-mark and 5 of 9 five-mark. Its fourteen chapters run from nutrition and food safety to textiles, early childhood care, consumer education and communication. Design for Fabric and Apparel is the heaviest chapter, followed by Food Quality and Food Safety.
| Task | Marks |
|---|---|
| Change a normal diet to a soft diet for an elderly person, or plan and evaluate a low-cost supplementary recipe for pre-schoolers | 5 |
| Identify an adulterant in a food sample with a chemical test | 5 |
| Make a block-printed textile design, or remove a stain from fabric | 5 |
| Design a consumer-education leaflet | 5 |
| Attendance, and the practical record | 5 + 5 |
Every task is hands-on, so a tutor should rehearse them at home, not only discuss them.
The Electronics paper is out of 70 with the same four parts as Home Science. Of its thirteen units, Digital Electronics carries the most weight, followed by Operational Amplifiers, then Transistor Amplifiers and Modulation and Demodulation; Microcontroller and C Programming are smaller units. In the practical, a student performs an analogue or power electronics experiment, a digital experiment, or a microcontroller and C programming experiment, and each carries five marks for the record and five for attendance. For the programming experiment, entering the program is worth 12 marks and getting the output 6, so typing and debugging speed matter. A tutor should have the student draw circuits and truth tables from memory and write short C programs by hand before the lab.
On the PU portal, the student corner collects the year's blueprints, model question papers, an exhaustive question bank, practical schemes, last year's papers with model answers, and multiple-choice sets for science students facing entrance tests. Ask the tutor to plan from the blueprint, rehearse with the model paper and fill gaps from the bank.
Each year the SSLC runs in March or April, and a June examination follows for anyone who fails. On the PU side, the student corner carries draft timetables for Exam-1 and Exam-2. Know that these exist, but build the year around the first attempt, and read the notices of that year if a repeat is ever needed.
| Year | Focus | Material |
|---|---|---|
| Class 8 | Reading and writing in the first and second languages; maths basics secure | State textbooks, a short written piece every week |
| Class 9 | Neat diagrams in science, maps in social science, and answers in full | Exercises from the book, plus a short test on alternate weeks |
| Class 10 | Every chapter covered, revision ordered by blueprint weight | The SSLC blueprints and earlier papers under time |
| I PUC | Getting used to the chosen subjects, above all any that are new | The PU books, with exam-type questions once a chapter ends |
| II PUC | Whole papers written against the blueprint; practicals and records | Blueprints, model papers and the question bank |
In colonies such as Kotnoor, SSLC maths is often where families first look for help; geometry and graphs, with neat steps for method marks, tend to need the most work. For the core SSLC subjects, open our Kalaburagi maths and science pages.
Many II PUC science students also sit the Karnataka CET, conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, while others add the NTA's JEE Main or NEET. Each body's current bulletin is the only safe source for its rules, and in every case the board papers and practical records keep their own place in the week. Our JEE and NEET pages for Kalaburagi explain how to share the time, and the Bengaluru KCET page looks at the state test. Children on a national board should read the CBSE and ICSE pages for the city.
| Locality | Setting | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Kotnoor | Older village and newer colonies on the New Jewargi Road; many SSLC students on the state syllabus | Say which side of the New Jewargi Road you live on |
| Misbaha Colony | North-west, towards Aland Road; Urdu, Kannada and English all in daily use | Ask for a tutor who teaches the Urdu or Kannada first-language paper |
| Santosh Colony | Independent houses near the Jewargi Road side; II PUC commerce students among them | Ask how much accountancy practice the tutor sets each week |
| Kusnoor | Old village and newer layouts off the Kusnoor Road; older students on the state syllabus | Look for a tutor who knows the Karnataka textbooks well |
| Daryapur | Outer layouts still filling in, with fewer tutors close by | Name the nearest bigger colony; plot numbers may not run in order |
| Jayanagar | Along Sedam Road; senior students balancing II PUC with entrance tests | Use the spelling on your address proof and add the cross |
Zone pages: Kotnoor and Jewargi Road, Hirapur and the West and Sedam Road and Kusnoor. Every locality is on the Kalaburagi tutors page, and the Kalaburagi home tuition guide walks through each zone. A weekly home visit with a shorter online lesson suits many PU students; see online tuition in Kalaburagi. Other Karnataka Board pages: Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi.
You will hear from two or three matched tutors, and their fees are visible ahead of the demo. There is no charge for the demo or for switching tutor later. Every tutor goes through an ID check on joining, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how we check tutors). More general questions are in the demo checklist for parents, and families choosing a PU combination can read choosing a board and stream.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Fees are set by each tutor. For how they vary, read the pricing guide or our home tuition fees in Kalaburagi post.
Put in the class, the exam medium, both languages with their codes, the PU subjects if any, a landmark near home and the hours your child is free. Then book a free demo, or browse tutor profiles yourself. SSLC and PU teachers looking for students can open Kalaburagi tuition jobs. Elsewhere in Karnataka, see the Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi city pages.
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board conducts both the Class 10 SSLC and the II PUC examinations. Founded in 1966 and renamed in 2022, it has its head office in Bengaluru and divisional offices in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Mysuru. Read its notices on kseab.karnataka.gov.in and the PU examination portal.
Yes, Urdu is one of the nine first-language papers on the SSLC 2026–27 blueprint list, under code 12U. The blueprint file is a scanned image, so open it on the board site with the tutor. A Kalaburagi family should look for a tutor who teaches to that paper itself, not just someone fluent in Urdu.
The II PUC Urdu blueprint opens with 20 one-mark questions and draws on prose lessons, poems, ghazals and qitas, with ghazals carrying the most weight. Its last part covers idioms, proverbs, letter writing and translation. A Kalaburagi student should practise set texts, poetry meanings and short language drills every week.
II PUC Logic is an 80-mark paper with one-, two-, five- and ten-mark questions. Four chapters share most of the weight: Nature of Induction, the Grounds of Induction, the Concept of Cause, and Scientific Method and Hypothesis. A Kalaburagi student should write one long answer a week on those chapters, with definition, rule, example and criticism.
A Kalaburagi II PUC Education student should expect 45 questions, of which 37 are answered, for 80 marks. There are 20 one-mark items, 10 of 13 two-mark answers, 6 of 9 five-mark answers and one ten-mark answer from three. With marks spread over ten units, revise every unit rather than a few.
The II PUC Home Science practical has four tasks of five marks each, plus five for attendance and five for the record. Students modify a diet or plan a low-cost recipe, test food for an adulterant, make a block-printed design or remove a stain, and design a consumer leaflet. Kalaburagi students should rehearse each task.
The II PUC Electronics practical is either an analogue or power electronics experiment, a digital experiment, or a microcontroller and C programming experiment. Each carries five marks for the record and five for attendance. In the programming experiment, entering the program is worth 12 marks, so Kalaburagi students should practise writing and debugging short programs.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each state board tutor in Kalaburagi sets their own fee, shown before the demo. Ask how the tutor would use the board blueprints and model papers in sessions.
The board conducts the SSLC again in June for students who do not pass the March or April examination. For II PUC, the student corner shows draft timetables for Exam-1 and Exam-2. A Kalaburagi student should still plan the year for the first sitting and read the current notices only if a repeat is needed.
