Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Karnataka's state board publishes a great deal about its own papers. For each main SSLC and II PUC subject, the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board posts a blueprint that fixes the marks per chapter and the mix of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-mark questions, and the II PUC student corner adds model papers, a question bank, last year's papers with model answers and the schemes examiners use to mark practicals. A good state board tutor in Mysuru plans from those documents rather than from a guidebook's guess. This page reads several of them closely: the 2026-27 SSLC science blueprint chapter by chapter, the II PUC English and computer science papers, and the chemistry and biology practical schemes. It also covers language papers, second sittings, a year-by-year plan from Class 9 to II PUC, how tutors reach six localities, and what to ask at the free demo. Every figure here is the version published for the current year; check the board's sites before relying on it.
Set up in 1966 under the name Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board, the body was renamed in 2022. School families meet it twice: at the SSLC, which closes Class 10, and at the II PUC, which closes the PU course and corresponds to Class 12. Beyond those, it runs Karnataka Open School, teacher-training, music and commerce examinations. The head office is in Bengaluru, and Mysuru is one of its four divisional offices, alongside Bengaluru, Belagavi and Kalaburagi.
Two websites matter. kseab.karnataka.gov.in carries the SSLC side: notices, timetables and the subject-wise blueprints. For Class 12, the board's PU examination portal at dpue-exam.karnataka.gov.in has a student corner holding blueprints, model papers, the question bank, the practical schemes of evaluation, past papers with model answers, answer scripts that scored full marks, and the links for re-registration, scanned copies, revaluation and retotalling. When a date or a rule matters, it should come from one of those two sites and nowhere else.
The science paper (subject 83) sets 38 questions for 80 marks, in the same mix as the maths paper: sixteen one-mark items, eight two-mark, nine three-mark, four four-mark and one five-mark question. The chapter weighting is what a tutor should plan around.
| Chapter | Marks | Chapter | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chemical Reactions and Equations | 4 | Heredity | 4 |
| Acids, Bases and Salts | 6 | Light – Reflection and Refraction | 8 |
| Metals and Nonmetals | 7 | Human Eye and Colourful World | 5 |
| Carbon and its Compounds | 8 | Electricity | 8 |
| Life Processes | 8 | Magnetic Effects of Electric Current | 6 |
| Control and Coordination | 6 | Our Environment | 3 |
| How do Organisms Reproduce | 7 | Total: 80 marks, 38 questions | |
Taken branch by branch, the four chemistry chapters total 25 marks, the four physics chapters (light, the eye, electricity, magnetism) total 27, and the five biology chapters total 28. No branch can be left to luck. Our science home tutors in Mysuru page covers the subject across boards, and the Class 10 science notes, though written for CBSE, follow chapters with the same names.
For SSLC maths, the board's blueprint uses the same five question types; our maths home tutors in Mysuru page and the Class 10 maths preparation plan cover that paper.
The board publishes separate blueprints for several first languages, among them Kannada, Hindi and Telugu, and two for English, one of them based on the NCERT course. Core subjects have blueprints by medium too. For tuition in Mysuru, where a child may speak Kannada at home and study in English medium, the practical rule is simple: talk through ideas in the language that makes sense to the child, then write every practice answer in the paper's medium with the textbook's vocabulary. Tell us the medium, the first language and the language spoken at home when you ask for a tutor. A first- or second-language paper adds to the aggregate exactly as science does, so a shaky one needs its own hours; our English home tutors in Mysuru page covers English at both levels.
The board's own description says the SSLC is held in March or April and conducted again in June for students who do not pass the main examination, and its recent notices number the sittings as Exam-1 and Exam-2 for both SSLC and II PUC. The II PUC corner also links registration for repeater and improvement candidates, and applications for a scanned copy of an answer script, revaluation and retotalling. These are safety nets. A tutor should plan the year so that the first sitting is the one that counts, and read the current year's notices for any second attempt rather than assuming last year's rules still hold.
The 2026-27 blueprint for II PUC English (subject 02) shows a paper with two quite different halves. The first comes from the course book, Springs, and its fourteen prose and poetry lessons. Part A has ten one-mark questions, all to be answered. Part B then offers choice: any three of four two-mark questions, any four of six three-mark questions and any three of six four-mark questions.
The second half comes from the workbook, Streams, and tests skills rather than lessons: articles or prepositions, jumbled segments, subject-verb agreement, tense, framing questions, error identification, idioms, passive verbs and reported speech; pronoun reference and linkers; note making and dialogue writing. There is a choice between an unseen prose passage and a poem from the workbook, each with nine one-mark questions, and the paper closes with a choice between a job application with a resume and a speech written from given points.
For a tutor, that structure means two kinds of work. The Springs half rewards close reading and well-organised answers of the right length. The Streams half rewards drill: short, frequent grammar sets and one full piece of functional writing a week until the format is automatic.
| Section | Questions set | Questions answered | Marks scored |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-mark (multiple choice and short answer) | 20 | 20 | 20 |
| Two-mark | 7 | 4 | 8 |
| Three-mark | 7 | 4 | 12 |
| Five-mark | 10 | 6 | 30 |
Twelve chapters run from exception handling and file handling in Python, through stacks, queues, sorting and searching, to data, databases, networks and security. Structured Query Language has the largest allotment in the blueprint, with Database Concepts and Computer Networks close behind, and almost every chapter can supply a five-mark question. A computer science tutor should therefore make sure the student can write correct queries and code by hand, on paper, because that is how the theory paper is answered.
Practicals are where marks are easiest to protect and easiest to lose through carelessness. The board's schemes of evaluation set out exactly where each mark comes from; here are two of them.
| Chemistry (34) | Marks | Biology (36) | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salt analysis: one acid radical and one basic radical, found systematically | 10 | A temporary slide from a given material, prepared and written up | 5 |
| Titration: molarity of a potassium permanganate solution against a standard solution | 10 | A slide showing a stage of mitosis, with a comment | 5 |
| Attendance of 75% or more in theory and practical classes | 5 | A pedigree chart identified and explained | 3 |
| A completed, certified practical record | 5 | Three further specimens or items identified and explained | 7 |
| Attendance, and the certified record | 5 + 5 | ||
Two lessons stand out. In chemistry, the titration marks depend partly on how close the titre value is to the correct one, so steady technique matters as much as the calculation, and the salt analysis rewards a systematic procedure written in order. In both subjects, ten marks rest on attendance and a certified record, which a student can secure entirely through steady habits. A tutor should read the scheme with the student early in the year and check the record each month, but never write it for them. The chemistry, biology and physics pages for Mysuru cover the theory papers.
| Year | Main aim | Board material to use |
|---|---|---|
| Class 9 | Firm up algebra and science basics; make neat diagrams and shown working routine | The state textbooks, chapter by chapter |
| Class 10 (SSLC) | Revision weighted by the blueprints; every chapter covered for the one-mark section | Blueprints, model papers and model answers, past papers under time |
| I PUC | Settle into the chosen combination; close the jump in physics, maths or a new subject such as computer science | The PU textbooks and the question bank, a few questions per chapter |
| II PUC | Full papers to the blueprint, the practical record, and room for entrance work where that is the goal | Blueprints, model papers, the practical scheme, full-mark answer scripts |
Ahead of PU admissions, our article on picking a board and a stream helps families compare science, commerce and arts combinations.
For a PU science student, II PUC marks are more than a school result. As our KCET tutor page for Bengaluru records from KEA's 2026 bulletin, the engineering rank is built from CET marks and qualifying examination marks in equal proportions. A tutor supporting entrance work should therefore keep written board answers in practice all year, not only in the last month. Our JEE and NEET pages for Mysuru explain how to divide the work. Families on other boards can read our CBSE and ICSE and ISC pages, and those elsewhere in the state can see Karnataka Board tutors in Bengaluru.
| Locality | Homes and access | Tip for the first visit |
|---|---|---|
| Bogadi | Plotted layouts with independent houses, villas and some apartments; Bogadi Road and the Ring Road junction | Say which side of the Ring Road you are on; Chamarajapuram is the nearest station |
| Chamarajapuram | Older family homes on narrow lanes near the centre | Give Ballal Circle or the station as a landmark and agree parking |
| Krishnamurthypuram | Houses and older buildings among banks, shops and restaurants | Use the Jayanagar railway gate as the landmark; avoid the evening shopping rush |
| Chamundipuram | Independent houses on planned roads below Chamundi Hills | Give the road and nearest circle; weekday evenings are easier than weekend mornings |
| Siddhartha Layout | Apartment buildings and houses along Bannur Road | Register the tutor at the gate before the demo |
| Bannimantap | Hanumanthanagar, HUDCO Layout and colonies around Highway Circle | Name the colony; plan Dasara week online, as the parade ground route is very crowded |
The zone pages cover each side of the city: South-West Mysuru, Central and South Mysuru, East Mysuru, North Mysuru and North-West Mysuru. Every locality is on our Mysuru tutors page, and the Mysuru home tuition guide describes each zone. Class 10 maths and science are usually worth an in-person tutor; once PU begins, a home session plus a shorter online one is often easier to sustain, as our online tutors for Mysuru page explains.
Every request brings two or three matched tutors with fees visible in advance; the opening lesson costs nothing, and so does a later change of tutor. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (see how we check tutors). The demo class checklist has more.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Fees are each tutor's own. For the questions worth asking, see the pricing guide and our Mysuru tuition fees article.
Share the year, medium, first language, home language and any PU combination, along with your area, a landmark and your free hours, and book a free demo. Tutor profiles are open to browse; teachers of state board subjects can look at tuition jobs in Mysuru.
For a Karnataka State Board tutor in Mysuru, share the year, medium, first language, home language, any PU combination, your area with a landmark and your free hours. We then suggest two or three matched tutors with SSLC or PUC experience who can travel to you, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Yes, Mysuru is one of the Karnataka board's four divisional offices, alongside Bengaluru, Belagavi and Kalaburagi, with the head office in Bengaluru. For notices and papers, use the websites: kseab.karnataka.gov.in carries SSLC notices, blueprints and timetables, and the PU examination portal at dpue-exam.karnataka.gov.in serves II PUC students.
For Mysuru Class 10 pupils, the 2026-27 SSLC science blueprint places its single five-mark question in How do Organisms Reproduce, a chapter worth 7 marks. Carbon compounds, life processes, light and electricity carry 8 marks each and hold the four-mark questions. All sixteen one-mark questions must be answered, so no chapter is safe to skip.
For a Mysuru II PUC student, the 2026-27 English paper sets 80 marks across two books: Springs tests lessons, Streams tests skills. Springs gives ten compulsory one-mark questions, then choice-based two-, three- and four-mark questions. Streams covers grammar, a prose passage or poem, note making, dialogue writing, and a job application or a speech.
A Mysuru II PUC computer science student should write SQL by hand because the 2026-27 theory paper, worth 70 marks, is answered on paper. Structured Query Language has the largest allotment, with Database Concepts and Computer Networks close behind. The paper has twenty one-mark questions, then four of seven two-mark, four of seven three-mark and six of ten five-mark questions.
A Mysuru II PUC student can secure ten of the 30 practical marks in chemistry and in biology through 75% attendance and a certified record. Chemistry gives 10 for salt analysis and 10 for a titration; biology marks slides, a pedigree chart and specimens. A tutor should check the record monthly but never write it.
Yes, a Karnataka board tutor in Mysuru can talk through ideas in Kannada or another home language if you mention it when you ask. Every written answer should still be practised in the paper's medium with textbook vocabulary. The board publishes blueprints for several first languages and core subjects by medium, so share the medium and first language too.
No, a Mysuru SSLC or II PUC student should prepare for the first sitting as the one that counts. The board holds the SSLC in March or April and again in June for students who do not pass, numbering sittings Exam-1 and Exam-2. Read the current year's notices for any second attempt rather than assuming last year's rules.
A Mysuru II PUC science student preparing for KCET, JEE or NEET should keep written board answers in practice all year, not only in the final month. According to KEA's 2026 bulletin, the KCET engineering rank uses CET marks and qualifying examination marks in equal proportion, so II PUC scores feed straight into the rank.
For Mysuru state board students, Class 10 maths and science are usually worth an in-person tutor at home in areas like Bogadi or Chamundipuram. Once PU begins, a home session plus a shorter online one is often easier to sustain. Agree an online backup for Dasara week near Bannimantap, when the parade route is very crowded.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Karnataka board tutor in Mysuru sets their own fee, shown to you ahead of the free demo.
