What home tuition costs in Mysuru

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics home tutor in Mysuru: one subject, up to four mark schemes, and a weekly session that makes them fit

Physics in the last two years of school in Mysuru rarely serves one exam. A PU science student writes the II PUC paper and may also sit the Karnataka CET, JEE Main or NEET; a CBSE student has the Class 12 board paper and the same entrance choices. Each of these marks physics in its own way, and a student who studies hard for one can still drop marks in another. A home physics tutor's job is to keep all of them in view: fix the step that keeps failing, rehearse answers in each exam's format, and protect the board paper from being crowded out. NXTutors sends two or three physics tutors who know your child's exams and can reach your locality, shows every fee before you meet, and makes the first class a free demo.

Which exams is your child's physics really for?

Decide the main target first. Everything a tutor sets afterwards, from the length of an answer to whether a guess is worth making, follows from it.

Physics in the exams Mysuru students take at the end of school: format, marking and the habit each rewards
ExamPhysics in itMarkingHabit it rewards
II PUC (KSEAB)A 70-mark theory paper in four parts, plus a 30-mark practicalWritten answers; diagrams and working are required where neededFormula, substitution and unit on every numerical
CBSE Class 1270-mark theory paper of 33 compulsory questions, plus 30 practical marksWritten answers; no calculatorDerivations, ray diagrams and case-based reading
Karnataka CET (2026 bulletin)A separate paper of 60 multiple-choice questions, one mark eachNo negative markingSpeed and coverage of the whole PU syllabus
JEE Main (2026 pattern)25 of 75 questions, five needing a numerical answer+4 right, −1 wrongMulti-step problems, and knowing when to skip
NEET (UG), as set in 202645 of 180 questions, 180 of 720 marks, on paper+4 right, −1 wrongNCERT-level accuracy with few guesses

Entrance syllabi come from the conducting body, not the school board, and can keep topics a board has dropped; read each year's bulletin before crossing anything off. Our JEE physics topic-wise plan and the list of NEET physics chapters worth the most time help with priorities, and the physics tutor for JEE and physics tutor for NEET pages explain how we match.

How is the II PUC physics paper built?

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board conducts the II PUC examination. Its blueprint for physics spreads 70 marks over fourteen chapters in four parts:

  • Part A, 20 marks: twenty one-mark items, all to be answered. The board's model paper marks only the first answer, so if a question is attempted twice, the second attempt does not count.
  • Part B, 10 marks: five two-mark questions to be chosen from eight.
  • Part C, 15 marks: five three-mark questions chosen from eight.
  • Part D, 25 marks: five five-mark questions chosen from nine, where derivations and longer numericals sit.

The model paper also states two rules worth pinning above the desk: an answer that needs a diagram earns no marks without one, and a numerical answer given without the formula and working earns none either. A student trained on entrance shortcuts loses marks here, and a tutor should correct written PU answers every week, not only before the preparatory exams. Take the current blueprint from the board's PU exam portal, and see the Karnataka board tutor in Mysuru page for the whole PU picture.

The PU practical: 30 marks that need no coaching sheet

Under the board's practical scheme, physics practicals are worth 30: 20 for the experiment on the day, 5 for class attendance and 5 for the practical record. Attendance is the student's own affair, but a home tutor can help with the other 25: checking that every record entry has its aim, diagram, observation table and result, asking why repeated readings are taken, and making sure the graph's slope means something to the student. These are marks that reward steady work through the year, and they are the first to slip when entrance practice takes over the evenings.

Where are the marks in CBSE Class 12 physics?

For 2026-27 the sample paper keeps the previous design. The theory paper's 70 marks fall into four blocks: electricity and magnetism 33, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, modern physics 12, and semiconductor electronics 7, a unit that no longer includes transistors or logic gates. The 33 questions run from sixteen one-mark items in Section A (twelve multiple-choice, four assertion–reason) through five two-mark, seven three-mark and two four-mark case-study questions to three five-mark long answers. Only about 38% of the marks test recall; constants are given and calculators are not allowed.

The 30 practical marks divide into 14 for two experiments, 5 for the record, 3 for an activity, 3 for the investigatory project and 5 for the viva. The record must hold at least eight experiments, four from each section, and six activities, three from each, along with the project report. Our Class 12 physics strategies list the derivations that recur, and the Class 12 physics tutor page sets out a board-year plan.

How should a tutor read a mock test with your child?

If your child sits mock tests, at college or in an entrance course, the score on its own says little. A useful home session takes the latest paper and sorts every lost mark into one of three columns:

Sorting lost physics marks after a mock, and what the next week's tuition does about each kind
Kind of lossTypical signNext week's fix
Concept gapWrong law chosen, or no idea where to startRe-teach from the textbook, then three graded problems
Execution slipRight method, wrong sign, unit or power of tenRewrite the solution in full: diagram, law in words, substitution with units, sense check
Exam judgementA risky guess on a negatively marked paper, or a blank on the CET where guessing costs nothingAgree a rule for each exam and practise it on a timed set

Bring the latest test to the free demo. A tutor who knows the subject should be able to read it and name the weak step before teaching anything new. For weighing an entrance course against home tuition, read our articles on JEE coaching or a home tutor and the NEET equivalent.

Evening physics in six Mysuru localities

Senior students often get home late, which pushes physics into the evening, and whether a slot holds depends on the tutor's route. Find tutors by area on our Mysuru page.

Six Mysuru localities: the setting, the tutor's way in, and one tip for a regular evening slot
LocalitySettingWay inTip
YadavagiriFlats and houses around Mysore Junction, the city's main railway stationCity bus, auto, or train for a tutor based in a town on the Bengaluru, Hassan or Chamarajanagar linesRoads near the station fill when trains arrive; fix the time in advance
JayalakshmipuramHomes alongside shops and offices near Hunsur RoadCity bus or auto from the centre; Hunsur Road from the Vijayanagar sideStart after the evening rush, or move one session to the weekend
HinkalApartment buildings, houses and plots at the Hunsur Road and Ring Road junctionAlong either road; the flyover junction is slow at office hoursTell the gate the tutor's name and which road to approach from
HebbalResidential layouts next to an industrial area set up by the state's industrial development boardTwo-wheeler from Vijayanagar, Hootagalli or BannimantapAvoid times when shifts and offices start or finish
SaraswathipuramOlder independent houses near Kukkarahalli Lake and its walking pathTwo-wheeler or city bus from Kuvempunagar or the old cityRoads near the lake and Hunsur Road are slower at peak times
KuvempunagarA large layout of independent houses with parks and playgroundsCity bus to the depot, or two-wheeler from Saraswathipuram or RamakrishnanagarGive a park or circle and the cross road; evenings near the bus depot get busy

When a college practical or a mock test overruns, swap that evening's lesson for an online session with the same tutor rather than cancelling it.

ISC, IB and IGCSE physics

ISC
CISCE assesses practical work and a project alongside the theory paper and expects fuller reasoning than a one-line answer. Check that the tutor teaches the syllabus for your child's exam year.
IB Diploma
The current course is organised in five lettered themes, with no options and no Paper 3. Exam papers carry 80% of the grade and an investigation the student designs and writes alone carries the remaining 20%. See our guide to IB physics at SL and HL.
Cambridge IGCSE
Taken at Core or Extended level. A student moving to PU or CBSE Class 11 afterwards often needs extra time on vectors and graphs.

Specialists for these courses are fewer, so ask early; an online specialist can work alongside a local tutor who marks written practice.

Why start in Class 11 or I PUC?

Mechanics in the first year leans on vectors, graphs and calculus-style reasoning that return throughout the second year and in every entrance paper. A term spent making those secure in Class 11 or I PUC usually saves far more effort than repairing them in the board year. Read the physics tutor for Class 11 page and our stream choice guide.

What does a physics home tutor in Mysuru charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees, shaped by the target exam, their experience with it, the evening trip to your locality and the number of weekly sessions. The same tutor may quote a different fee for online lessons. You see every fee ahead of the demo, and the Mysuru home tuition fees article lists what to ask.

What to include in your request

Share the class (I or II PUC, or Class 11 or 12), the board, the main target (board paper, CET, JEE or NEET), the days college or an entrance course runs, your locality with a landmark, and the evenings still free. Two or three physics tutors come back with their fees, and you choose whom to meet for a free demo. A poor fit leads to a second demo, and switching tutor later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; the national physics home tutor page covers other cities, and the chemistry and maths pages for Mysuru cover the other CET subjects.

Physics teachers based in Mysuru who want students close by will find current requests on the Mysuru tuition jobs page.

Physics Home Tutor in Mysuru: common questions

What does a physics home tutor in Mysuru charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees, which depend on the target exam and the trip, and you see each one before the demo.

How is the II PUC physics paper organised?

The board's blueprint spreads 70 theory marks over fourteen chapters in four parts: twenty compulsory one-mark items, then a choice of two-mark, three-mark and five-mark questions. The model paper gives no marks to an answer missing a needed diagram, or to a numerical without its formula and working.

How are II PUC physics practical marks given?

The board's practical scheme gives 30 marks: 20 for the experiment performed in the exam, 5 for class attendance and 5 for the practical record. A home tutor cannot run the experiment, but can check each record entry, explain sources of error and rehearse likely viva questions with your child.

Should my child attempt every question in the Karnataka CET physics paper?

Under the 2026 bulletin, yes: the CET physics paper had 60 one-mark multiple-choice questions and no negative marking, so a blank earns nothing. JEE Main and NEET are different, taking a mark away for each wrong answer, so a tutor should train a separate guessing rule for those papers.

Where are the marks in CBSE Class 12 physics?

The 70-mark theory paper gives 33 marks to electricity and magnetism, 18 to optics with electromagnetic waves, 12 to modern physics and 7 to semiconductor electronics, which no longer covers transistors or logic gates. The other 30 marks come from practicals, the record, an activity, the project and a viva.

Is Yadavagiri easy for an evening physics tutor to reach?

It is one of the easier localities. Being next to Mysore Junction, it can be reached by city bus or auto, and a tutor based in a town on the Bengaluru, Hassan or Chamarajanagar lines can arrive by train. Roads near the station fill up when trains arrive, so fix the time in advance.

Is it worth starting physics tuition in I PUC or Class 11?

Often, yes. Mechanics in the first year depends on vectors and graphs that return throughout the second year and in every entrance paper. Making those secure early usually takes less effort than repairing them during the board year, when revision, practicals and entrance practice all compete for the same evenings.

Do you have IB or ISC physics tutors in Mysuru?

We can look, though specialists are fewer than PU and CBSE tutors, so mention the course early. IB physics now has five themes, with exam papers worth 80% and an independent investigation 20%; ISC adds practical and project work. If nobody nearby is free, an online specialist can teach the course.
