What home tuition costs in Mysuru

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry home tutor in Mysuru: reactions learned once, written four ways

Chemistry asks a senior student in Mysuru to hold three kinds of knowledge at once: numbers in physical chemistry, patterns in inorganic, and chains of reactions in organic. Then each exam wants that knowledge back in a different shape. The II PUC paper wants full written answers and worked problems; the Karnataka CET and NEET want fast, exact recall on a multiple-choice sheet; JEE Main wants mechanisms and multi-stage calculations; the CBSE paper wants written reasons and balanced equations. A home tutor can make one week's chemistry serve all of them. NXTutors suggests two or three chemistry tutors matched to your child's syllabus and able to reach your part of the city; you compare their fees before meeting anyone, and the first lesson is a free demo.

Which chemistry papers is your child preparing for?

II PUC chemistry (KSEAB)
A 70-mark theory paper over ten units, with numerical problems in its own part. Rewards complete written answers and clean working.
CBSE Class 12 chemistry
A 70-mark theory paper of 33 compulsory questions in five sections, plus a 30-mark practical. Rewards written reasons, balanced equations and careful numericals.
Karnataka CET
Under the 2026 bulletin, a separate paper of 60 one-mark multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. Rewards speed and wide coverage of the PU syllabus.
NEET (UG) and JEE Main
In 2026 chemistry made up 45 of NEET's 180 questions and 25 of the 75 in JEE Main Paper 1 (twenty with options, five with a numerical answer), each scored +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one. NEET rewards exact NCERT recall; JEE rewards mechanisms and multi-step physical chemistry.

NTA publishes each year's pattern afresh, and the Karnataka Examinations Authority does the same for the CET, so read the current bulletins. Our guides to important NEET chemistry chapters and JEE chemistry by branch help with priorities, and the NEET chemistry tutor page explains how we match.

How is the II PUC chemistry paper laid out?

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board sets the II PUC paper, and its blueprint for chemistry gives 70 marks across ten units:

II PUC chemistry by part, from the board's blueprint, with what a home tutor should practise for each
PartQuestionsMarksPractise at home
ATwenty one-mark items, all compulsory20Short recall quizzes straight from the PU textbook
BThree two-mark questions from five6Definitions and one-line reasons, word-perfect
C and EEight three-mark questions from fifteen, including the numerical problems of Part E24Physical chemistry problems with units and log working shown
DFour five-mark questions from six20Organic conversions and preparations written as complete sequences

The PU department publishes its textbooks in Kannada-medium and English-medium versions, and the chemistry book was revised in 2023, so a tutor should work from the current edition in the medium your child writes in. Take the latest blueprint from the board's PU exam portal, and see the Karnataka board tutor in Mysuru page for the full PU route.

A small rule that changes practice: calculators and log tables

The II PUC model paper allows log tables and a simple calculator, though not a scientific one. The CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper allows neither. A student who switches between the two, or a CBSE student who also prepares for the CET, needs practice in both modes: quick log-table and simple-calculator work for PU problems, and by-hand approximation for the CBSE paper. Check each entrance bulletin for its own rules on aids. Ask the tutor at the demo how they handle this; it is a quick test of whether they know your child's paper.

Which CBSE Class 12 chemistry chapters carry the most marks?

CBSE fixes chemistry marks chapter by chapter, and the 2026-27 paper keeps last session's design. Grouped by branch, organic chemistry carries 33 marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14:

  • Physical, 23: Electrochemistry 9, Solutions 7, Chemical Kinetics 7. Units and powers of ten decide these marks.
  • Organic, 33: Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids 8; Biomolecules 7; Haloalkanes and Haloarenes 6; Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers 6; Amines 6. Conversions written as chains earn the most here.
  • Inorganic, 14: The d- and f-Block Elements 7 and Coordination Compounds 7. Each trend needs one clear reason.

About two-fifths of the paper tests recall and understanding; the rest asks students to apply, analyse or evaluate. A few questions carry an internal choice. The guide to Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry goes chapter by chapter, and the chemistry tutor for Class 12 page sets out a board-year plan.

What has CBSE dropped, and what still matters for NEET or JEE?

For 2026-27 two areas are out of CBSE Class 12 altogether: the solid state, and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block. Four more are taught but assessed only by the school: surface chemistry, the isolation of elements, polymers, and chemistry in everyday life. Entrance syllabi are released separately, and some material the board has dropped, parts of the p-block included, can still appear there. Check the official entrance syllabus before striking anything off, and use the board list for board revision alone. The same caution applies to a PU student: the CET syllabus is published by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, not inferred from the PU blueprint.

What should a weekly session do in each branch?

  1. Physical chemistry: watch one problem line by line. Solutions, electrochemistry and kinetics are where a student knows the formula but drops the mark on a unit, a sign or a logarithm. Watching one or two problems being solved shows exactly where.
  2. Organic chemistry: one reaction map. A single sheet linking alcohols, carbonyl compounds, acids and amines, redrawn from memory each week and checked against the textbook. Conversions then become routes rather than lists.
  3. Inorganic chemistry: exact sentences. NEET and the CET reward the precise textbook line. Short oral quizzes, with the reason behind each trend, make that recall dependable.

End every session with two board-style "give reasons" questions, corrected before the tutor leaves, so written answers keep pace with objective practice.

How much of the CBSE 30-mark practical can be prepared at home?

Of the 30 marks, titration and salt analysis earn 8 each, a content-based experiment 6, and the project and the record with viva 4 each. This session's titration uses a permanganate solution against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and each student weighs and makes up that standard solution personally. Glassware stays at school, but a tutor can rehearse the molarity working, a tidy burette-reading table, the logic of salt analysis from preliminary to confirmatory tests, a manageable project topic, and viva questions such as why permanganate needs no separate indicator.

Evening chemistry in six Mysuru localities

Six localities across the north, north-west and south-west of the city show the practical differences. Browse tutors by area on our Mysuru page.

North: plots and a busy junction

Gokulam is laid out in stages, mostly independent houses on individual plots; in an apartment building, share the block and flat number so the gate expects the tutor. Vontikoppal takes in railway quarters, the Jayalakshmipuram junction and streets where homes, shops and offices sit together; give a landmark with the address, and keep the class clear of the school-hour and office-hour rush.

North-west: stages and an industrial area

Vijayanagar is spread across four stages, the 4th in two phases, so the stage, phase, cross and main together save a lost first visit; Hunsur Road and the Ring Road junctions are slow at office hours. Hebbal has residential layouts beside an industrial area, with Hebbal Lake as a reference point; evening and weekend slots are often easier to keep there.

South-west: circles and parks

Ramakrishnanagar is centred on Andolana Circle, with parks around it and the Outer Ring Road along one side, so a tutor from the Vijayanagar or Bogadi side can come round by the Ring Road. Kuvempunagar is a large layout with wide roads, parks and a city bus depot; tutors from Saraswathipuram and Ramakrishnanagar are within easy reach of it.

Close to the preparatory exams, if a route becomes unreliable, move one weekly visit online so revision does not stop.

ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry

  • ISC: CISCE pairs the theory paper with practical and project work, and a good answer explains more than a single textbook line.
  • IB Diploma: offered at SL and HL and organised under two themes, structure and reactivity. The scientific investigation must be shaped by the student; a tutor may ask questions about it, no more.
  • Cambridge IGCSE: science papers come in Core and Extended tiers; our comparison of Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE explains the difference.

These specialists are fewer than PU and CBSE tutors, so ask early. If none can travel to you, pair an online specialist with a local tutor who marks written work. For the groundwork year, the chemistry tutor for Class 11 page explains why the mole concept, equilibrium and early organic chapters deserve attention before the board year.

What does a chemistry home tutor in Mysuru cost?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor names their own rate, which tends to follow the exam being targeted, the tutor's record with it, the evening trip to your locality and the weekly number of sessions. Every fee is visible before the demo; the Mysuru home tuition fees article covers what to ask.

What should you send us?

Send the class (I or II PUC, or Class 11 or 12), the syllabus, the main exam, the branch that loses marks, any college or entrance-course timings, your locality with a landmark, and the free evenings. A list of two or three chemistry tutors comes back with fees, and you pick whom to meet at a free demo class. A wrong first pick leads to a second demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (how we check tutors). NXTutors has its office in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; the national chemistry home tutor page covers other cities, and our NEET home tutor in Mysuru page covers the medical entrance.

Chemistry Home Tutor in Mysuru: common questions

What hourly rate should a Mysuru household expect for PU or CBSE chemistry taught at home?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Mysuru chemistry tutor's own rate tends to follow the target exam, their record with it, the evening trip to your locality and sessions a week, and every fee is visible before the free demo.

After a Mysuru parent describes a chemistry need, how are tutors suggested and tried out?

A Mysuru parent who describes a chemistry need gets two or three matched chemistry tutors, each fee shown before the first class. Send the class, syllabus, main exam, the branch that loses marks, college timings, your locality and free evenings. The first class is a free demo, a wrong first pick leads to a second demo, and switching tutor later is free.

How do the parts of the II PUC chemistry paper divide its 70 marks for Mysuru PU students?

For Mysuru PU students, the KSEAB II PUC chemistry blueprint gives 70 marks over ten units. Part A has twenty compulsory one-mark items, Part B three two-mark questions from five, Parts C and E eight three-mark questions from fifteen including numericals, and Part D four five-mark questions from six. Take the current blueprint from the board's PU exam portal.

Are log tables or a calculator allowed in chemistry exams that Mysuru students write?

In Mysuru, the II PUC chemistry model paper allows log tables and a simple calculator but not a scientific one, while the CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper allows neither. A student switching boards, or a CBSE student also preparing for the CET, should practise both modes. Check each entrance bulletin for its own rules on aids.

Where do the heaviest marks sit in CBSE Class 12 chemistry for a Mysuru student planning revision?

For a Mysuru student in CBSE Class 12 chemistry, Electrochemistry leads with 9 marks, then Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids with 8. Solutions, Chemical Kinetics, the d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds and Biomolecules carry 7 each. By branch, organic is worth 33 marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14.

Which Class 12 chemistry topics has CBSE cut, and should Mysuru NEET or JEE aspirants still study them?

For 2026-27, CBSE dropped the solid state and p-block Groups 15 to 18 from Class 12 chemistry, yet Mysuru NEET or JEE aspirants may still need parts. Polymers, surface chemistry and two other topics are assessed only in school. Entrance syllabi are released separately, so check them before striking anything off.

How should a Mysuru student's chemistry practice for NEET and the CET differ from board writing?

A Mysuru student practising chemistry for NEET and the CET needs fast, exact recall on multiple-choice questions, while board papers need written reasons and complete working. In 2026 the CET chemistry paper had no negative marking, while NEET deducted a mark for each wrong answer. Keep one board-style answer in every session so writing keeps pace.

What helps an evening chemistry tutor find a Vontikoppal home in Mysuru without delay?

For a Vontikoppal home in Mysuru, give the chemistry tutor a landmark with your address and say whether it is a house or a flat. Homes, shops and offices share the same streets there. The roads near the Jayalakshmipuram junction are heavy at school and office hours, so fix a regular evening slot outside those peaks.

Which pieces of the 30-mark CBSE chemistry practical can a Mysuru tutor drill without a school lab?

A Mysuru chemistry tutor can rehearse much of the CBSE 30-mark practical at home, apart from the glassware work itself. Titration and salt analysis earn 8 each, a content-based experiment 6, and the project and record with viva 4 each. At home a tutor drills molarity working, burette-reading tables, salt-analysis logic and viva questions.

Can ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry students in Mysuru find a specialist, and does it have to be at home?

ISC, IB and IGCSE chemistry specialists in Mysuru are fewer than PU and CBSE tutors, so ask early. ISC pairs theory with practical and project work, while IB chemistry is organised around structure and reactivity, and the investigation must be the student's own. If none can travel to you, pair an online specialist with a local tutor who marks written work.

When revision is close, should Mysuru chemistry lessons stay at home or shift online?

Mysuru chemistry lessons can stay at home for most of the year, but close to the preparatory exams one weekly visit can move online if a route becomes unreliable. That keeps revision going without losing the tutor. Physical chemistry problems still suit a tutor watching each line at the table, where dropped units and signs are caught.
