Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

For families on the state route in Belagavi (Belgaum), the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board is close at hand: it lists Belagavi among its four divisional offices. It examines students twice on the state route, first in the Class 10 SSLC and then in II PUC after two years of pre-university study, and for each paper it publishes a blueprint showing how many questions of each mark value appear and how much weight each unit carries. A tutor worth hiring plans from those documents. This page reads them for the subjects that matter in a city where Kannada, Marathi and English are all heard at home: the SSLC language routes, and the II PUC arts papers in History, Geography, Sociology, Political Science and Psychology, which other pages on our site do not cover. It also explains the biology practical for science students, second sittings, a plan from Class 8 to II PUC, tutors in six localities, and what to ask in the free demo.
The board began in 1966 as the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board and took its present name in 2022. It conducts the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations for affiliated schools and junior colleges, as well as Karnataka Open School, teacher education, music and commerce examinations. Its head office is in Bengaluru; Belagavi is one of four divisional offices, with Bengaluru, Kalaburagi and Mysuru.
Families need two websites. kseab.karnataka.gov.in carries the SSLC notices and Class 10 blueprints; the II PUC student corner sits on the PU examination portal, dpue-exam.karnataka.gov.in. Take dates, forms and rules from those sites in the current year's version, not from forwarded messages.
The board's SSLC 2026–27 blueprint page lists nine first-language papers. Besides Kannada and Marathi, the list has Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, Tamil and Sanskrit, plus a pair of English papers, one based on NCERT books. Second-language blueprints are listed for English and Kannada. The core subjects are Mathematics, Science and Social Science, and the alternate subjects include Sociology, Economics and Political Science as well as Hindustani and Carnatic Music, alongside three JTS technical subjects.
| First language | Second language | What to check with the tutor |
|---|---|---|
| Kannada | English | Long-answer writing in Kannada, and English grammar and composition |
| English (either paper) | Kannada | Which English paper the school follows, and Kannada from the basics if needed |
| Marathi | English or Kannada | That the tutor teaches to the Marathi first-language blueprint, not general Marathi |
| Hindi, Urdu or another listed language | English or Kannada | The exact paper code from the board's list |
Every pairing has its own papers, so the request should name both languages and the code your child's school uses. Our English home tutors in Belagavi page covers English at either level.
The board publishes blueprints by medium as well as by subject: the SSLC list itself names Kannada-medium and English-medium versions of the core papers, and the II PUC Geography and Sociology blueprints come in Kannada and English. A child in Belagavi may speak Marathi or Kannada at home, study in English or Kannada at school and write the exam in either. The simple rule for a tutor is to explain in whichever language makes the idea clear, then have every practice answer written in the exam's medium, with the textbook's own terms. Tell us the medium of instruction, the medium of the exam and the home language when you ask for a tutor.
Science dominates most talk about PU tuition, but arts students need just as much planning, because their papers are built on long written answers. All five arts blueprints below are 80-mark papers for 2026–27.
| Subject (code) | Longest questions | Special feature |
|---|---|---|
| History (21) | 2 of 4 ten-mark questions | A ten-mark map question and a four-mark chronology question |
| Geography (24) | A compulsory ten-mark question | A whole part on Representation of Geographical Data |
| Sociology (28) | 2 of 4 ten-mark questions | A match-the-following item in Part A |
| Political Science (29) | 2 of 4 ten-mark questions | 37 questions set, 29 answered |
| Psychology (32) | 2 of 4 six-mark questions | Five-mark questions drawn from Practical Experiments |
The History paper has six parts: twenty one-mark items, eight of thirteen two-mark questions, two of four five-mark questions, two of four ten-mark questions, a four-mark chronology question and a ten-mark map question. Students who cannot use a map are offered a ten-mark question in its place. The weight sits in three units: the Ancient and Modern periods carry the most, with the Medieval period next, and the ten-mark answers come two from the Ancient period and one each from the other two. Map Work is a small unit on paper but feeds a ten-mark question, so a tutor should have the student mark places on a blank outline every week. For the chronology question, a running timeline built through the year is far easier than memorising dates in the last month.
Geography has sixteen Part A questions worth twenty marks, five of eight two-mark questions, and seven of thirteen five-mark questions, which together make up the largest share of the paper. The last part is given entirely to Representation of Geographical Data, with one of two five-mark questions and a compulsory ten-mark question. That unit carries more weight than any other of the thirteen, ahead of Mineral and Power Resources. In practice this means drawing and reading graphs, diagrams and data tables neatly and accurately, a skill that improves only with regular practice under a tutor's eye. The five-mark answers reward clear points, a sketch where it helps, and the textbook's terms.
Both papers follow the same four parts: twenty marks in Part A, five of eight two-mark questions, six of nine five-mark questions and two of four ten-mark questions. In Sociology, the heaviest chapters are Making of Indian Society and Demography and Change and Development of Villages and Urbanization in India, and both can supply a ten-mark question. In Political Science, Nation Building and Challenges to Indian Democracy carries the most weight, followed by India's Foreign Policy and International Relations; of the 37 questions set, 29 are answered.
For both subjects, a tutor's real job is the ten-mark answer: an introduction, points in a sensible order with the textbook's concepts, an example where it helps, and a short conclusion. One such answer a week, marked for structure, is a reasonable habit from the start of II PUC.
Psychology has five parts: twenty one-mark questions, seven of eleven two-mark, six of ten four-mark, two of four six-mark and two of three five-mark questions. The last part is drawn from the Practical Experiments unit, so the student must be able to describe an experiment's aim, method and result in writing, not only perform it. Variation in Psychological Attributes, Self and Personality, and Psychological Disorders carry the most weight among the other units. A tutor should keep the practical notebook and the written descriptions moving together.
The board's practical schemes for 2026–27 cover Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, Computer Science and Home Science. The Biology scheme sets a two-hour, 30-mark practical: two temporary-slide tasks worth five marks each, a pedigree chart to read, specimens to identify with reasons, and five marks each for attendance in theory and practical classes and for a completed, certified record. Slide preparation is a hands-on skill, and the record and attendance are marks earned across the year. Students preparing for NEET should keep a few sessions each term for this work. Our biology, physics and chemistry pages for Belagavi cover the theory papers.
The board holds the SSLC in March or April and conducts it again in June for students who do not pass. For II PUC, the portal's student corner lists tentative timetables for both Exam-1 and Exam-2, with repeater and private-candidate registration guides. These routes are worth knowing, but a tutor should plan the year for the first sitting and read the current notices afresh if a second one is ever needed.
| Year | Main focus | Working material |
|---|---|---|
| Class 8 | Writing habits in both languages, and maths basics made secure | State textbooks and short weekly writing tasks |
| Class 9 | Science and social science answers with diagrams and maps | Textbook exercises, one chapter test a fortnight |
| Class 10 | Revising by blueprint weight while covering every chapter | The SSLC blueprint for each paper and earlier papers under time |
| I PUC | Settling into the chosen combination, especially new subjects | PU textbooks with exam-style questions after each chapter |
| II PUC | Full papers to the blueprint, long answers and practicals | Blueprints and model question papers from the student corner |
Families in Gandhi Nagar and other state-syllabus homes sometimes leave first-language and social science help until late; starting writing practice in Class 8 makes Class 10 much lighter. The SSLC core papers are covered on the city's maths and science tutor pages.
Science students in II PUC often sit the Karnataka CET, which the Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts, and many also take JEE Main or NEET from the National Testing Agency. Each body's current bulletin is the only safe guide to its rules. In each case, board answers and practical records still need a place in the week. Our JEE and NEET pages for Belagavi explain how to share the time, while our Bengaluru KCET page looks at the state entrance test. If your child is on a national board instead, the CBSE and ICSE pages for Belagavi apply.
| Locality | Setting | Tip for the first visit |
|---|---|---|
| Gandhi Nagar | East Belagavi, with SSLC families asking for first-language and social science help | Add "east Belagavi, near Mahantesh Nagar", since the name is common |
| Khasbag | Homes behind the shops of the Pune Bengaluru Road, next to Shahapur and Vadgaon | Name the side lane and which side of the main road you live on |
| Nehru Nagar | Houses and apartments where a fixed routine helps working parents | Agree a weekly update if you rarely meet the tutor |
| Subhash Nagar | Family homes off the Belgaum-Panaji Highway, reachable from several sides | Give the street off the highway and a shop at the turning |
| Kanbargi | The north-east edge, keeping its old village name, with the pond nearby | Fix days early so the tutor can group nearby lessons |
| Shastri Nagar | A central part of the city around Goods Shed Road | Building, floor and a landmark on the main road |
Zone pages: Mahantesh Nagar and Ramteerth Nagar, Shahapur, Vadgaon and Khasbag and Sadashiv Nagar and Nehru Nagar. Every locality is on the Belagavi tutors page, and the Belagavi home tuition guide walks through each zone. For PU students, a weekly home visit plus a shorter online lesson is often easier to keep; see online tuition in Belagavi. Other Karnataka Board pages: Hubballi-Dharwad, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Kalaburagi.
Every request brings two or three matched tutors, each with the fee visible before the demo. The demo costs nothing, and changing tutor later costs nothing either. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how we check tutors). The checklist for parents has more general questions, and before I PUC it is worth reading how to pick a board and stream.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Fees are set by tutors themselves; the pricing guide and the home tuition fees in Belagavi post explain how they vary.
A useful request names the class, the medium of the exam, the first and second languages, any PU combination, the locality with a landmark and the free hours in the week. After that, book a free demo. You can also look through tutor profiles yourself, and SSLC or PU teachers looking for students can open Belagavi tuition jobs. Nearby, see the Hubballi-Dharwad city page.
Yes, the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board lists Belagavi among its four divisional offices. The others are Bengaluru, Kalaburagi and Mysuru, and the head office is in Bengaluru. For forms, dates and rules, use kseab.karnataka.gov.in and the PU examination portal in the current year's version.
A Belagavi student can take any of the nine SSLC first-language papers listed in the board's 2026–27 blueprints. They are Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Sanskrit and two English papers, one NCERT-based. Second-language blueprints are listed for English and Kannada, so name both languages in your request.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Karnataka Board tutor in Belagavi sets their own fee, and you see it before the demo. Ask how the tutor would use the board's blueprint in a typical week.
The 2026–27 II PUC History paper has 80 marks in six parts. There are twenty one-mark items, two-mark, five-mark and ten-mark questions with choice, a four-mark chronology question and a ten-mark map question. The Ancient and Modern periods carry the most weight, so weekly map and timeline practice pays off.
Representation of Geographical Data matters because it carries more weight than any other II PUC Geography unit. The last part of the 2026–27 paper is given entirely to it, with one five-mark question from two and a compulsory ten-mark question, so neat graphs, diagrams and data tables need regular practice.
II PUC Sociology and Political Science students should practise one ten-mark answer a week, marked for structure. Both papers set two of four ten-mark questions. A good answer has an introduction, points in order with textbook concepts, an example where it helps, and a short conclusion.
In the 2026–27 II PUC Psychology paper, the five-mark questions in the last part come from Practical Experiments. Students answer two of three, so they must describe an experiment's aim, method and result in writing. A tutor should keep the practical notebook and these written descriptions moving together.
A Belagavi child can study in one medium and should then write practice answers in the exam's medium. The board labels some blueprints by medium and publishes II PUC Geography and Sociology blueprints in Kannada and English. Tutors can explain in any language, but answers should use the textbook's terms.
State board tutors can reach Gandhi Nagar, Khasbag and Shastri Nagar with clear directions. Add east Belagavi near Mahantesh Nagar to a Gandhi Nagar address, name the side lane off the Pune Bengaluru Road in Khasbag, and give the building, floor and a main-road landmark in Shastri Nagar.
A Belagavi family should send the class, medium, first and second languages, any PU combination, the locality with a landmark and the free hours in the week. We send two or three matched tutors with fees shown first. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
