Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

For families in Belagavi (Belgaum), choosing a maths tutor starts with a question many other cities never ask: which paper, and in which language? Children on the same road may be heading for the Karnataka SSLC, CBSE or ICSE, and a child in Camp may have arrived mid-year from a school in another state. Kannada, Marathi and English are all heard at home here, so a pupil may think through a sum in one language and write it in another. Share the class, the board and your locality with NXTutors; you get two or three maths tutors who suit all three, each with a fee you can read before anyone visits, and the opening lesson is a free demo.
The exam notes on this page carry two names. Ajay Vatsyayan answers for the IB, IGCSE and ISC maths sections, and Abhinandan Tiwary for Class 10 maths under CBSE and ICSE. The state-syllabus figures are taken from the Karnataka board's published blueprints and model papers. Pick your child's line in the table below; it decides the textbook, the shape of a full-credit answer and the past papers worth practising.
| Route | Examined by | Where it often leads | Question for the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| State syllabus, Classes 8 to 10 | KSEAB, through the SSLC | PU science, commerce or arts | Which edition of the SSLC blueprint are you planning from? |
| PU science with mathematics | KSEAB, through II PUC | The Karnataka CET, JEE Main, or both | How do you divide a week between written board answers and CET drills? |
| CBSE, Classes 10 and 12 | CBSE | JEE, the CET or a course without maths | Should my child sit Standard or Basic, and why? |
| ICSE, then ISC | The CISCE council | Engineering or medical entrance, like other boards | Which year's ISC syllabus do your notes follow? |
| IGCSE or the IB Diploma | Cambridge; the IB | University study at home or overseas | Have you recently taught my child's tier or level? |
The SSLC is run by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board, which began in 1966 as the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board and took its present name in 2022. Its head office is in Bengaluru, and Belagavi is one of its divisional offices. The same board conducts II PUC at the end of the pre-university years.
In the 2026-27 blueprint, SSLC mathematics is one paper of 80 marks and 38 questions. Sixteen questions carry one mark, eight carry two, nine carry three, four carry four and one carries five, and the longer ones offer an internal choice. Fourteen chapters share the marks. Grouped by weight, they give a tutor the outline of a year:
| Band | Chapters and their marks | Use at home |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy, 32 marks | Triangles, 9 marks; linear equations in two variables, 8; arithmetic progressions, 8; surface area and volume, 7 | Start in the first term; one similarity proof and one equation word problem every week |
| Middle, 33 marks | Six marks apiece for quadratics, coordinate geometry and the introduction to trigonometry; five apiece for real numbers, polynomials and circles | A formula page the student writes from memory and corrects every fortnight |
| Light, 15 marks | Four apiece for applications of trigonometry, statistics and probability; three for areas of circles | Secure marks; finish and revise them well before the final month |
The sixteen one-mark questions punish loose reading more than weak method, so a short opening quiz of exact definitions and quick results is worth its place in every lesson. KSEAB also publishes SSLC model papers and a question bank that show how much working examiners expect. Blueprints are revised, so always plan from the current copy on kseab.karnataka.gov.in. Our Karnataka board tutor in Belagavi page follows the state route from Class 8 to II PUC.
More than most parents expect. A child who learned fractions in a Kannada- or Marathi-medium class can know the method and still stall on an English word problem because "consecutive" or "perpendicular" is a new word. Three habits help a bilingual tutor close that gap:
The II PUC paper is again worth 80, but it now covers thirteen chapters from Relations and Functions to Probability, and its five parts test quite different skills:
| Part | What is set | Marks | Habit to build |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 15 multiple-choice items and 5 fill-in-the-blanks | 20 | Standard results recalled without hesitation |
| B | Answer 6 two-mark questions out of 9 | 12 | Brief working with no missing line |
| C | Answer 6 three-mark questions out of 9 | 18 | Picking the right six quickly |
| D | Answer 4 five-mark questions out of 7 | 20 | Calculus and matrix answers set out in full |
| E | Two questions, worth six and four, each picked from a pair; the linear programming answer goes on graph paper | 10 | Axes labelled, corner points marked, region shaded |
With so much choice, some students leave whole chapters out. Entrance syllabi ignore the board's options, so a tutor should read them before agreeing to drop anything. The first PU year is where functions, trigonometry and limits must become secure, because every later calculus answer rests on them.
Many PU science students in Belagavi prepare for both, and the chapters largely coincide. The scoring does not. The Karnataka Examinations Authority's 2026 bulletin set CET maths as 60 one-mark multiple-choice questions with nothing deducted for errors, so a question left blank is a mark thrown away. JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 had 25 maths questions among its 75, twenty with options and five needing a numerical answer, at +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one; there, a wild guess costs marks.
The CET also counts school marks. For the 2026 engineering ranking, the CET physics, chemistry and maths score and the qualifying exam score carried equal weight, so neglecting written II PUC answers in favour of speed drills gives away half of the rank. Bulletins change yearly, so read the newest one first. The KCET guide sets out the state paper; for the national one, read the topic-wise JEE maths plan or visit JEE home tutor in Belagavi.
In 2026-27 the CBSE Class 10 board paper carries 80 marks and the school adds 20. By unit, the board marks run: algebra 20, geometry 15, trigonometry 12, statistics with probability 11, mensuration 10, then 6 each for real numbers and for coordinate geometry. Section A holds twenty one-mark items (eighteen multiple-choice, two assertion–reason); the middle sections ask five questions of two marks, six of three and four of five; three case studies of four marks close the paper. No calculator is allowed, and π means 22/7 unless stated.
Standard and Basic cover the same chapters at different depth. Roughly 54% of Standard marks are for recall and understanding; in Basic the figure is roughly 75%. Any child who may choose maths after Class 10 should write Standard. An optional second Class 10 exam also lets students try to improve up to three subjects, maths among them, with dates published only on cbse.gov.in. For chapter help, see the CBSE Class 10 maths preparation article or our Class 10 maths tutor page.
For Class 12, all 38 questions are compulsory for 80 marks, and calculus alone makes up 35, so it deserves a large share of each week from the first month; the calculus and algebra article for Class 12 and the Class 12 maths tutor page explain how.
Specialists in these courses are fewer in Belagavi than SSLC and CBSE teachers, so name the course in your first message. A family moving between postings can keep one online specialist for the course and add a local tutor to check practice wherever they live.
A clear address and a fixed hour do more for a new tutor than anything else in the first week. Compare tutors locality by locality on our Belagavi page.
| Locality | Setting | Finding you | Agree beforehand |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camp | The old cantonment side, where some service families move every few years | Road name and nearest circle; mention any gate or security post | Which chapters the previous school already covered, and whether lessons can continue online after a transfer |
| Hanuman Nagar | Family homes and small apartment blocks on the north-west side | Cross road plus a shop or bus stop on Hanuman Nagar Road | A check of fractions and negative numbers before algebra moves on |
| Tilakwadi | A long-settled part of south Belagavi around Goaves Circle and Gogte Circle | The circle or main road you live off, with the cross number | The board first, since neighbours often follow different textbooks |
| Bhagya Nagar | Independent houses and newer apartment buildings in the south | Cross, building name if any, and the corner shop | A Class 10 plan that finishes the portion early and keeps the last months for timed papers |
| Angol | An old village name at the southern end, with newer lanes around the older part | Older part or newer lane, plus the nearest well-known shop | Separate fixed hours if one tutor teaches two siblings |
| Shahapur | An older suburb around Nath Pai Circle and the start of Khanapur Road | Lane, circle and a shop locals know, as the old streets confuse newcomers | Full written SSLC answers practised, not only quick solving |
The zone pages for Camp and Hanuman Nagar, Tilakwadi and South Belagavi and Shahapur, Vadgaon and Khasbag add more, and the Belagavi home tuition guide covers the northern and eastern localities too.
Ask the tutor to take the chapter your child is doing at school this week, and keep the latest marked test on the table. Then look for four things:
If the match feels wrong, tell us and the next tutor on the shortlist gives a demo; switching tutor later is free as well. Our demo class checklist for parents adds more questions. Sitting beside your child, a tutor catches an error the moment the pen makes it; online lessons suit a specialist across the city or a family about to move. Our online tuition in Belagavi page and the article on choosing between home and online tutors weigh both.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own rate, and it usually reflects the paper, how often they have taught it, the trip to your locality and the number of sessions a week. Fees show on the shortlist ahead of the demo, and the Belagavi home tuition fees post suggests questions to put to each tutor.
We need six things: class; exam name in full (SSLC, II PUC, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE); locality, cross and a landmark; free hours after school or college; the language your child thinks in most easily; and your budget. Two or three maths tutors come back with their fees, and the one you choose gives a free demo. When no good match can travel to you at that time, an online or part-online plan is offered instead. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (about the ID check). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and lessons run online all over India. Elsewhere in the state, visit Hubballi-Dharwad, Bengaluru or Mysuru; other cities are on the national maths home tutor page. Belagavi pages for physics and science work the same way.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Belagavi maths tutors set their own rate, usually by the paper, their experience with it, the trip to your locality and the sessions per week. Every fee is visible before the demo.
NXTutors matches a Belagavi maths tutor from six details: class, full exam name, locality with a cross and landmark, free hours, the language your child prefers, and a budget. We send two or three matched tutors with their fees, the first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
For a Belagavi student, Triangles carries the most SSLC maths marks in the 2026-27 blueprint, with 9 of 80. Linear equations in two variables and arithmetic progressions bring 8 each, and surface area and volume 7. Those four chapters total 32 marks, so a tutor should start them in the first term and practise them weekly.
Belagavi Class 10 students on the state syllabus write one SSLC maths paper of 38 questions for 80 marks. Sixteen are worth one mark, eight two, nine three, four four and one five, with internal choice in the longer ones. KSEAB revises its blueprint, so plan from the current copy on kseab.karnataka.gov.in.
Yes, many Belagavi maths tutors can explain a hard step in Kannada or Marathi and still keep every written line in the language of the exam. Ask for this in your request. A two-column word list and restating word problems before solving help a child who learned maths in another medium.
Belagavi II PUC students should give Parts D and E the most written practice, because they carry 30 of the 80 marks. Part D asks four five-mark answers from seven, and Part E asks a six-mark and a four-mark question, with linear programming drawn on graph paper. Part A rewards quick recall of standard results.
No, a Belagavi PU student should not leave CET maths questions blank, because the 2026 bulletin deducted nothing for wrong answers. JEE Main is different: each wrong answer cost one mark. For the 2026 engineering ranking, CET marks and qualifying exam marks counted equally, so written II PUC answers still matter.
A CBSE Class 10 student in Belagavi who may want maths in Class 11 should take Standard rather than Basic. Both cover the same chapters, but about 54% of Standard marks test recall and understanding against about 75% in Basic. An optional second exam can improve up to three subjects, with dates only on cbse.gov.in.
A family in Camp, Belagavi should tell a new maths tutor the old and new board and the chapters already covered. Some service families here move every few years, so ask whether lessons can continue online after a posting. Give the road name and nearest circle, and mention any gate or security post.
ISC, IB and IGCSE maths tutors are fewer in Belagavi than SSLC and CBSE tutors, so name the course in your first message. A common answer is an online specialist for the course and a nearby tutor who checks practice. From 2027, ISC maths is one 80-mark paper with calculus worth 35 marks.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
