Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Belagavi (Belgaum), children on different boards often live in the same street. Some write the SSLC, some the CBSE Class 10 board and some the ICSE, and a tutor down the road may know the state PU course far better than the CBSE one. That is not a problem, provided the tutor you choose teaches to the CBSE paper itself: its competency questions, its internal marks and, from 2026–27, its two Class 10 board sittings. This page sets out what CBSE asks for at each stage, how it differs from the state route, what a useful session looks like, how tutors reach six localities in the north, east and south-east of the city, and the questions that sort a CBSE specialist from a general tutor in the free demo.
| Point | CBSE | Karnataka state board (KSEAB) |
|---|---|---|
| Class 10 exam | Two board sittings from 2026–27; the first is compulsory, the second optional for improvement | SSLC in March or April, held again in June for students who did not pass |
| Class 11 and 12 | School continues to the Class 12 board | I PUC and II PUC, with a wide choice of subject combinations |
| What the paper is built on | NCERT books and CBSE sample papers, with many competency-based questions | State textbooks and the board's published blueprints for each subject |
| Where to read the rules | cbseacademic.nic.in and cbse.gov.in | kseab.karnataka.gov.in and the PU examination portal |
The two routes cover much of the same science and maths, so a tutor trained in one can often teach the content of the other. The difference lies in the questions. A tutor used to SSLC blueprints may drill the chapter weightings that CBSE does not publish in the same way, and may not have practised the competency-based questions CBSE now sets. Ask directly which board's papers the tutor has marked recently. Families still on the state route should see our Karnataka Board tutors in Belagavi page.
| Classes | What matters most | How a tutor helps |
|---|---|---|
| 6 to 8 | Fractions, ratios and early algebra; reading science for meaning; neat written answers | Short weekly sessions, NCERT exercises finished and explained aloud |
| 9 and 10 | The common Class 9 paper, the Class 10 board and internal marks | Chapter tests in CBSE style, sample papers, and the first board sitting treated as the real one |
| 11 and 12 | A chosen stream, theory and practical marks, often an entrance test as well | Subject specialists, practical files kept on time, board answers written in full |
The CBSE Secondary curriculum for 2026–27 marks major subjects out of 80 for the board paper and 20 internally, with 33 per cent needed to pass, and roughly half the questions are competency-focused. In Class 9, maths and science have a common paper for everyone, plus an optional Advanced paper of 25 marks that stays outside the aggregate; a score of 50 per cent or more on it is noted on the marksheet. The split into Basic and Standard maths is ending, and the 2026–27 Class 10 batch is the last on the older scheme.
CBSE has also notified two board exams for Class 10. The first is compulsory; the second lets a student improve up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and the languages. A sensible tutor plans for the first sitting as if it were the only one, and keeps the second for a targeted repair. Our Class 10 maths tutor page and the articles on CBSE Class 10 maths and Class 10 science go into more detail.
| Subject (code) | Theory | Practical or internal |
|---|---|---|
| Physics (042), Chemistry (043), Biology (044) | 70 | 30 |
| Mathematics (041) or Applied Mathematics (241), one only | 80 | 20 |
| Accountancy (055), Economics (030), Business Studies (054) | 80 | 20 |
In the sciences, almost a third of the marks sit outside the written paper, so the practical file and the viva need steady attention, not a rush in the final term. For maths, the choice between Mathematics and Applied Mathematics should be made with the stream and any entrance exam in mind. Our physics, chemistry and biology pages for the city, and the CBSE Class 12 physics article, explain each paper.
A case-based question gives a short passage, a table or a diagram, then several linked parts. Students who know the chapter still lose marks because they skim the passage, miss a condition, or answer what they expected to be asked. The cure is a habit, practised every week: read the stem twice, underline the data, write down what is being asked in your own words, and only then solve. Ask the tutor to set one such question in every session, in maths, science and social science alike, and to mark the reading as well as the answer. Children who find English slow should also get help with reading speed, since the passage is in English in English-medium papers; our English home tutors in Belagavi page covers that.
Families often book tuition for maths and science and leave social science and the languages to the school. In CBSE Class 10 that is a risk, because social science and the languages are among the subjects a student may improve at the second board sitting, and they are marked out of 80 plus 20 like the rest. Social science rewards structured answers with the right terms, a neat map and a clear sequence of points. A tutor who sets one written answer a week and marks it against the CBSE marking scheme does more good than one who reads the chapter aloud. For the second or third language, ask whether the tutor knows the CBSE paper for that language specifically, not only the language.
Some families arrive in Belagavi from other states, and some children switch between CBSE and the state syllabus when they do. A move in Class 6 to 8 is easy to absorb. A move in Class 9 or Class 11 needs a short audit: the tutor compares the old and new syllabus chapter by chapter, marks what is already done, what is new, and what is taught in a different order, and builds the first month around the new parts. Language papers are the usual sticking point, so say in your request which second and third languages the new school offers and which one your child is taking.
| Locality | Local note | Planning tip |
|---|---|---|
| Sadashiv Nagar | Families follow all the main boards; Class 12 is often the year help is sought | Say whether the practical file is up to date |
| Subhash Nagar | Family homes on side streets off the Belgaum-Panaji Highway | Name the street off the highway; evening slots are usual |
| Ramteerth Nagar | Newer layouts with many younger children starting tuition early | For Classes 6 to 8, keep sessions short and regular |
| Kanbargi | On the north-east edge, where fewer tutors live close by | Fix days at the start and keep an online option for exam weeks |
| Gandhi Nagar | East Belagavi; children study under CBSE, ICSE and the state syllabus | Add "east Belagavi, near Mahantesh Nagar" to the address |
| Khasbag | Along the Pune Bengaluru Road, reachable from several directions | Useful when you want a specialist from another part of the city |
Zone pages: Sadashiv Nagar and Nehru Nagar, Mahantesh Nagar and Ramteerth Nagar and Shahapur, Vadgaon and Khasbag. The Belagavi home tutors page lists every locality, and the Belagavi home tuition guide covers each zone.
Younger children usually do better with a tutor at the table, where handwriting, diagrams and attention can be seen. From Class 9, online sessions work well for revision, sample-paper review and quick doubts, and they open up CBSE specialists who may not live near you. Many families settle on one home session a week for the hardest subject and a shorter online one for the rest. Our online tuition in Belagavi page and the home tutor or online tutor article explain the trade-offs.
Each request brings two or three matched tutors, and you see each fee before the demo. The first class is a free demo, and if the fit is wrong, switching tutor later is free. The demo checklist for parents lists more questions.

A CBSE tutor in Belagavi teaches to the CBSE paper, with its competency questions, internal marks and two Class 10 sittings. A state board tutor plans from KSEAB blueprints for the SSLC and II PUC. Much content overlaps, but the questions differ, so ask which board's papers the tutor has marked recently.
Belagavi students in CBSE Class 10 face a compulsory first board exam and an optional second one for improvement. The second sitting lets a student improve up to three subjects from science, maths, social science and the languages. A sensible tutor plans for the first sitting as if it were the only one.
For Belagavi students, CBSE Physics, Chemistry and Biology are marked as 70 for theory and 30 for practical work in 2026–27. Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, and Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies, are 80 for theory and 20 internal, so the practical file and viva need steady attention.

Belagavi CBSE students often lose marks on competency questions because they skim the passage and miss a condition. The cure is a weekly habit: read the stem twice, underline the data, restate the question, then solve. Ask the tutor to set and mark one such question in every session.
Yes, a Belagavi CBSE child often benefits from social science and language tuition, not only maths and science. Both are marked out of 80 plus 20 and can be improved at the second Class 10 sitting. Weekly written answers marked against the CBSE scheme help far more than reading the chapter aloud.
A tutor should start with a short syllabus audit when a child switches to CBSE after moving to Belagavi. The tutor compares old and new chapters, marks what is done, new or reordered, and builds the first month around the new parts. Name the languages the new school offers in your request.
CBSE tutors do visit Kanbargi, Gandhi Nagar and Subhash Nagar when the address is clear. Kanbargi is at the edge, so fix days early and keep an online option; in Gandhi Nagar add east Belagavi near Mahantesh Nagar; in Subhash Nagar give the street off the highway.
After a Belagavi family asks for a CBSE tutor, we send two or three matched tutors with their fees shown. You choose one for a free demo, and if the fit is wrong, switching tutor later is free. Include the class, subjects, school timetable and whether you prefer home or online.
