Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Between Class 6 and Class 10, school science turns from experiments described in a notebook into numericals, chemical equations and biology diagrams that an examiner marks line by line. Children in Belagavi (Belgaum) reach that point by different books: the state textbooks that end in the SSLC, NCERT in CBSE schools, or the titles an ICSE school prescribes. Some also switch between Kannada, Marathi and English along the way. A good science tutor works from your child's own textbook, explains in words your child follows and keeps to a steady after-school slot. NXTutors puts forward two or three tutors who fit, with each fee on the list ahead of any visit, and the opening lesson is a free demo.
Aaditya Kashyap is the named author for the CBSE and ICSE guidance on this page; the state-syllabus section comes from the Karnataka board's own blueprint. Start with the board, because it fixes the order of chapters, the length of a good answer and even the marks a neat diagram can earn.
| Route | The final exam | Practice material |
|---|---|---|
| State syllabus: SSLC, set by KSEAB | One 80-mark paper, 38 questions over 13 chapters | The state textbook, this year's blueprint, the board's model papers and question bank |
| CBSE | An 80-mark board paper of 39 questions; the school adds 20 marks | NCERT, then the sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in |
| ICSE, from CISCE | A separate paper for each science, each with its own internal marks | The school's prescribed books and the council's specimen papers |
Up to Class 10, one tutor for all three sciences usually works well for a family. That person can tell when a "physics" mistake is really an arithmetic slip, or when a biology answer lost marks because the question was misread. The national science home tutor page explains the idea.
KSEAB conducts the SSLC every year, and a further sitting is held for students who do not clear the main examination. Its 2026-27 blueprint gives science a single 80-mark paper, built from the same question mix as maths: sixteen one-mark items, eight two-mark, nine three-mark, four four-mark and one five-mark question. The thirteen chapters run from Chemical Reactions and Equations to Our Environment. Chapter weights change between blueprints, so work from the version on kseab.karnataka.gov.in, not from a guidebook printed for an earlier year.
Three habits matter more than any single year's pattern:
The Karnataka board tutor in Belagavi page follows a state-syllabus student from Class 8 up to II PUC.
Kannada, Marathi and English are all heard in Belagavi homes, and science is often where a change of medium shows first. A child may grasp evaporation or photosynthesis perfectly and still freeze at the English word on the question paper, or meet a familiar idea under an unfamiliar Kannada term after changing school. A tutor who shares your child's stronger language can unlock the idea in it, then make sure the written answer, the labels on the figure and the units are all in the language of the exam. Mention this need in your request.
The board paper is out of 80, and the school awards 20 more: five each for periodic tests, multiple assessment, the portfolio and subject enrichment through practical work. Across the branches, biology carries 30 board marks and physics and chemistry 25 each. Unit by unit:
| Unit | Marks | Home-lesson focus |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical Substances: Nature and Behaviour | 25 | Writing and balancing equations; patterns among acids, bases and salts |
| World of Living | 25 | Process answers in the right sequence, with clear labelled figures |
| Effects of Current | 13 | Circuit sums, with a unit written beside every value |
| Natural Phenomena | 12 | Light and ray diagrams, arrows always drawn |
| Our Environment | 5 | A short unit; easy marks if it is revised |
In the 2026-27 sample paper there are 39 questions: twenty of one mark (multiple-choice and assertion–reason), six of two, seven of three, three four-mark questions built on a case or passage, and three long answers of five marks. Half the marks test knowledge and understanding, 30% test application, and the last 20% analysis or evaluation, so a memorised paragraph will not carry a child through. Our CBSE Class 10 science notes go chapter by chapter, and the Class 10 science tutor page plans the year.
For 2026-27, three topics are assessed by schools rather than on the board paper: motors, generators and electromagnetic induction; evolution; and the arrangement of the periodic table. They still deserve real teaching, because internal marks and Class 11 both depend on them. The curriculum also lists 14 experiments that feed board questions, so the practical file should be revised like any chapter.
Every student writes the main Class 10 exam. A later, optional exam allows eligible students to try to improve up to three subjects, science among them, with dates announced only on cbse.gov.in. Plan as if the first sitting is the one that counts; the board-year planner sets out the months.
At ICSE Class 10 the council examines physics, chemistry and biology on separate papers, each with its own internal assessment, and schools choose textbooks within the CISCE syllabus. That makes your child's own books and the council's specimen papers the right base, rather than an NCERT plan. Marks come mostly from exact definitions and numericals with each step written. Many ICSE families want help in only one of the three, often from Class 9. ICSE science specialists are fewer in Belagavi, so ask early and keep online lessons in mind.
Children in these classes study between school and dinner, so a tutor whose trip to you is short and dependable is worth more than a long CV. Browse tutors by locality on our Belagavi page.
In Camp, the old cantonment, some children join a school mid-year after a parent's transfer; give the tutor the old textbook and the chapters already done. Use the road name and nearest circle as the address, and mention any security post. Hanuman Nagar, on the north-west side, has family homes and small apartment blocks; Classes 6 to 8 are a good time to begin, and a cross road with a shop or bus stop on Hanuman Nagar Road helps the tutor find you.
Hindwadi, between Tilakwadi and Shahapur, is mostly family homes, so an afternoon session for a younger child is easy to arrange when an adult is at home; share a map pin with the road and cross. Bhagya Nagar mixes independent houses with newer apartment buildings, and many homes here have a child heading for the first board exam. Ask the tutor how the last months before the SSLC will be used.
Shahapur, around Nath Pai Circle, began as a separate village, and its older lanes can puzzle a newcomer, so name the lane and a shop people know. Children here often use two languages a day; ask the tutor to explain one idea in both during the demo. At the southern end, Angol keeps an old village name; if one tutor will teach two siblings, agree a separate fixed hour for each.
In the free demo, hand the tutor the chapter your child did in school today and watch whether these appear without a prompt. Our demo class checklist for parents suggests more. If you are not sure, a second shortlisted tutor can take a demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors fix their own rates, which tend to follow the class, the trip to your home and the number of weekly lessons. You can compare every fee before the demo; the Belagavi home tuition fees article explains what to ask.
Tell us the class and board, which of the three sciences worries your child most, the language your child follows most easily, your locality with a landmark, and the afternoons that are free. Two or three science tutors are sent to you with fees attached, and you choose one for a free demo. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (about the ID check). If no good match can reach you at that hour, we suggest lessons that are partly or wholly online. We work from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teach online across India. Thinking about Classes 11 and 12? See the Belagavi pages for physics, chemistry and biology, or read the Belagavi home tuition guide.
If you teach science and live in Belagavi, current family requests are on the Belagavi tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Belagavi parents should send the class and board, the science that worries the child most, the language they follow most easily, the locality with a landmark, and free afternoons. We reply with two or three science tutors and their fees, you pick one for a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
State-syllabus students in Belagavi write one SSLC science paper of 80 marks in the 2026-27 blueprint. It uses the same mix as maths: sixteen one-mark, eight two-mark, nine three-mark, four four-mark and one five-mark question. Thirteen chapters are examined. Plan from the current blueprint on kseab.karnataka.gov.in, not an older guidebook.
A Belagavi SSLC student should practise science from the state textbook and the material KSEAB itself publishes: model papers, a question bank and answer scripts that earned full marks. These show how long an answer should be and how a diagram is labelled. A short spoken quiz each lesson secures the sixteen one-mark questions.
Yes, a science tutor in Belagavi who shares your child's stronger language can explain a stuck idea in Kannada or Marathi first. The tutor then makes sure the written answer, diagram labels and units are all in the language of the exam. Mention this in your request, because it changes which tutors we suggest.
For a CBSE Class 10 student in Belagavi, the board paper is worth 80 and the school adds 20. Biology carries 30 board marks, and physics and chemistry 25 each. The 2026-27 sample paper has 39 questions, and half the marks test knowledge and understanding while the rest reward application, analysis or evaluation.
Belagavi CBSE schools, not the board paper, assess three science topics in 2026-27: motors, generators and electromagnetic induction; evolution; and how the periodic table is arranged. They still need proper teaching for internal marks and Class 11. The curriculum also lists 14 experiments that feed board questions, so revise the practical file too.
ICSE students in Belagavi write three separate science papers in Class 10, one each for physics, chemistry and biology, each with its own internal marks. Schools choose textbooks within the CISCE syllabus, so a tutor should work from those books and the council's specimen papers. ICSE science specialists are fewer locally, so ask early.
A child in Hanuman Nagar or Hindwadi, Belagavi, often gains most by starting science tuition in Classes 6 to 8, when gaps are easier to close. In Hindwadi, mostly family homes, afternoon sessions suit younger children. In Hanuman Nagar, give the cross road and a shop or bus stop on Hanuman Nagar Road.
Belagavi CBSE families should know that Class 9 science now uses the NCERT book Exploration, so older notes may follow the earlier book. The annual exam is out of 80 with 20 internal marks. Matter carries 27 marks, the living world 25, motion, force, work and sound 23, and Earth as a system 5.
