Belagavi Home Tuition Guide: Camp, Tilakwadi, Shahapur, Sadashiv Nagar and Mahantesh Nagar

By NXTutors Academic Team 11 min read

Belagavi lies in the north-west of Karnataka, and for home tuition its neighbourhoods fall into five groups. Camp, the old cantonment, and Hanuman Nagar sit on the western side; Tilakwadi and its neighbours fill the south; Shahapur, Vadgaon and Khasbag make up the south-east, with Shastri Nagar near the railway station; Sadashiv Nagar and Nehru Nagar cover the north; and Mahantesh Nagar, Ramteerth Nagar and Kanbargi stretch to the north-east. This guide takes families in Belagavi (Belgaum) through all eighteen localities, with what to tell a tutor in each.

Directions that work for a first visit

A tutor coming for the demo needs one point they already know, then the turning, then the house. In Belagavi, circles and named roads do that job well. Belagavi railway station sits on Station Road in Shastri Nagar. Goaves Circle and Gogte Circle are the usual reference points in Tilakwadi, and Nath Pai Circle in Shahapur, where Khanapur Road begins. Club Road runs through Sadashiv Nagar, the highway towards Panaji passes Subhash Nagar, and the Pune Bengaluru Road runs through Khasbag.

Camp and Hanuman Nagar

The western side mixes the old cantonment, set up in 1832, with quieter residential streets out towards Hindalaga. If your family has just moved to Belagavi, a request that explains the old board and the new one saves time.

Camp: the old cantonment area, where some households arrive in the middle of a school year. Tell the tutor which chapters the previous school had finished. For directions, the road name and the nearest circle beat a house number alone, and mention any gate on your lane.

Hanuman Nagar: a settled residential area between Camp and the Hindalaga side, with Vijaynagar, Gokul Nagar and Sahyadri Nagar as neighbours. Give the cross road and a shop or bus stop on Hanuman Nagar Road. Middle-school maths and science are a natural place to begin, before gaps grow.

Sahyadri Nagar: at the western edge, off Sahyadri Nagar Road near Bauxite Road. Fewer tutors may live within the locality itself, so plan regular days and keep an online session for doubts between visits. Name the road you turn off and share a map pin.

Tilakwadi and South Belagavi

Four neighbouring localities in the south of the city sit close enough that tutors can move between them easily, so the choice here is wider than any one locality suggests. Two neighbours may follow different boards, which makes the board the first thing to settle.

Tilakwadi: a long-settled area around Goaves Circle, Gogte Circle and Maratha Colony. Give the circle you live nearest to and the cross number. Senior students who add entrance preparation to the board year can ask the tutor, at the demo, to show where the board paper and the entrance pattern meet.

Hindwadi: between Tilakwadi and Shahapur, with Hindwadi Road running towards Adarsh Nagar. Say how far along the road you live and which turning to take. For primary classes, a tutor who reads with the child and builds vocabulary slowly is worth looking for.

Bhagya Nagar: beside Angol, Hindwadi and Tilakwadi in the south. Families with a child in the SSLC year can ask the tutor for a month-by-month plan towards the board exam. For directions, the cross, the building name if there is one and a corner shop are enough.

Angol: at the southern end of the city, close to Vadgaon. It keeps the name of an older village, with long-standing homes and newer streets around them, so say which part you are in. If two children share one tutor, agree a fixed slot for each.

Shahapur, Vadgaon and Khasbag

Shahapur began as a separate village and is now a suburb of the city, and Shastri Nagar on the central side is close to the railway station. Older streets can be hard for a first-time visitor, so a shop name and a map pin matter more here than anywhere else.

Shahapur: one of the older suburbs, around Nath Pai Circle and the start of Khanapur Road. Give the lane, the nearest circle and a shop locals know. Children who move between Marathi, Kannada and English gain from a tutor who explains in one and helps them write in another.

Vadgaon: past Shahapur and Khasbag, near Hindwadi and Angol, with family houses on narrow lanes and newer buildings on wider roads. Commerce students can ask for weekly accounts practice ahead of II PUC or the CBSE board. Give the lane and the nearest wider road.

Khasbag: along the Pune Bengaluru Road, with shops on the main road and homes on the side lanes. The road links it to the rest of the city, which helps when you want a subject specialist. Say which side of the road you live on and name a shop at your turning.

Shastri Nagar: a central area around Goods Shed Road and Station Road. Being so central, it is within reach of tutors from many parts of the city, and short early-morning classes can be easier to arrange. For a flat, share the building, the floor and which entrance to use.

Sadashiv Nagar and Nehru Nagar

The north of central Belagavi has residential streets off Club Road and the highway towards Panaji, with shops on the main roads. Families with a Class 12 student can ask for help with practical records as well as theory.

Sadashiv Nagar: around Club Road, near Subhash Nagar and Nehru Nagar. Name the cross road off Club Road. Ask the tutor whether they have taught your child's exact course before, CBSE Class 12 or II PUC, since the papers and practicals differ.

Subhash Nagar: along the highway towards Panaji, with Veerbhadra Nagar and Shivabasava Nagar nearby. Give the street you turn into from the highway and a shop at that turning. Biology students planning for NEET can ask how the tutor links the board syllabus with the exam's own syllabus.

Nehru Nagar: next to Shivabasava Nagar, Azam Nagar and Subhash Nagar. In homes where both parents work, agree a fixed after-school time and a short weekly note from the tutor. Tell the tutor who will open the door.

Mahantesh Nagar and Ramteerth Nagar

The north-east has a large suburb, newer layouts and Kanbargi at the outer edge, with Gandhi Nagar to the south towards Khasbag. Layout and cross names matter, because newer streets can look alike.

Mahantesh Nagar: a large residential suburb with Shree Nagar and Anjaneya Nagar beside it, and Shree Nagar Garden as a handy landmark. Some families here have moved from another board; a tutor can look at the new textbook and say what comes first.

Ramteerth Nagar: beyond Mahantesh Nagar, near Kanbargi, with newer layouts. For Classes 1 to 5, short, patient sessions on reading, handwriting and number sense suit young children. Share the layout name, the cross number and a map pin.

Kanbargi: on the north-east edge, with the Kanbargi pond and Auto Nagar nearby. Fewer tutors may live inside the locality, so fix days early and keep an online option for exam weeks. Say whether you are near the old village or in a newer layout.

Gandhi Nagar: in east Belagavi between Mahantesh Nagar and Khasbag, near the road towards Bagalkot. Many towns have a Gandhi Nagar, so add "east Belagavi, near Mahantesh Nagar". SSLC students can ask for weekly written practice in first-language Kannada and social science.

Boards, subjects and exams in Belagavi

Children in Belagavi study under the Karnataka state syllabus, CBSE, and the CISCE's ICSE and ISC. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) conducts the SSLC at the end of Class 10 and the Class 12 examination for pre-university students, and it lists a divisional office in Belagavi. Its website, kseab.karnataka.gov.in, is the place for notices and results.

Some students attend a group class as well as school. A home tutor fits beside it when the hour has a narrow job, such as written answers for the board or doubts left from the week.

Home, online or a mix

A tutor at the table helps younger children and anyone who settles better with someone beside them. An online class helps when the right specialist lives across the city, when you live near the edge of town, or when the only free hour is late. An online tutor for Belagavi students can join a home plan at any point. For what a fee should cover, read home tuition fees in Belagavi, and for the wider trade-offs, home tutor or online tutor.

Frequently asked questions

Which localities of Belagavi does this guide cover?

This guide covers eighteen Belagavi localities, grouped into five zones. They are Camp and Hanuman Nagar, Tilakwadi and South Belagavi, Shahapur, Vadgaon and Khasbag, Sadashiv Nagar and Nehru Nagar, and Mahantesh Nagar and Ramteerth Nagar. Every locality links to its own page, with notes on directions and timing and the tutors we can suggest for that part of the city.

What should we tell a tutor about our address in Belagavi?

Tell a Belagavi tutor one reference point they already know, then the turning, then the house. Circles such as Goaves, Gogte and Nath Pai work well, as do Club Road, Khanapur Road and the railway station. Add the cross or layout name and a shop at your turning, and share a map pin for newer layouts.

Can NXTutors find a Karnataka state syllabus tutor in Belagavi?

Yes, NXTutors can look for a Karnataka state syllabus tutor in Belagavi when your request names the class and the medium of teaching. Say whether the goal is the SSLC or II PUC. We start with tutors who teach nearest you. If none suits, we suggest online tutors who know the state syllabus, so lessons still follow your child's textbooks.

What happens if no tutor lives near Kanbargi or Sahyadri Nagar?

If no tutor lives near Kanbargi or Sahyadri Nagar, NXTutors widens the search step by step: your zone, then the rest of Belagavi, then online tutors from across India. Fixing regular days early helps a tutor plan a weekly visit to the edge of the city. Some families pair a home tutor for one subject with an online specialist.

Does a Belagavi home tutor fit alongside a group class?

A Belagavi home tutor can fit alongside a group class when the hour has a narrow job, such as written board answers or doubts left from the week. Share the full weekly timetable so the tutor picks a slot that leaves time for self-study. The free demo shows whether the extra hour is worth keeping, and the choice stays with your family.

How does NXTutors check the tutors it suggests in Belagavi?

Tutors who join NXTutors in Belagavi go through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete. For each request you receive two or three matched tutors and see each fee before the demo. The first class with every tutor is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
