Bhiwandi Home Tuition Guide: Vanjar Patti Naka to Anjur Phata, Zone by Zone
Bhiwandi lies in Thane district, on the Konkan lowland north-east of Mumbai, and the Mumbai-Agra road runs through it. Its homes fall into four groups that tutors tend to think of together: Vanjar Patti Naka and the north towards Nashik Road and Wada Road; the closely built east and centre around Nagaon, Shanti Nagar and Kaneri; Dhamankar Naka and Temghar in the south-centre and south-east; and Kamatghar, Narpoli and Anjur Phata in the south-west, where the road from Thane comes in. This guide takes all fifteen localities in turn.
For each one you will find what a tutor needs to reach your door, the kind of help families there tend to ask for, and a slot that usually holds through the term. Fees are covered in a separate post on home tuition fees in Bhiwandi.
Junctions and roads every Bhiwandi tutor knows
Most tutors here travel by two-wheeler or auto, so a naka, a road name or a well-known junction works better than a long written address. Bhiwandi Road station sits at Anjur Phata, on the Vasai Road–Roha line between Kharbav and Kopar. The Agra Road passes Vanjar Patti Naka, and Kalyan Naka on the same road is the reference point for Kaneri. Kalyan Road leads out through the eastern colonies, and Nagaon Road, Kamatghar Road and Narpoli Road each name the part of town they serve.
| Zone | Reference point a tutor will know | Typical homes | What slows a first visit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vanjar Patti Naka and the North | Vanjar Patti Naka on the Agra Road; Nadi Naka | Old pada and gaon houses, newer apartment buildings | Several spellings of the same place name |
| Nagaon, Shanti Nagar and Kaneri | Kalyan Naka; Kalyan Road; Nagaon Road | Compact buildings, homes above shops | Dense lanes where one building looks like the next |
| Dhamankar Naka and Temghar | Dhamankar Naka; Kalyan Road | Apartment buildings, an older pada in Temghar | A naka name that covers a wide area |
| Kamatghar, Narpoli and Anjur Phata | Anjur Phata and Bhiwandi Road station; Kamatghar Road | Housing societies, older gaon lanes, newer colonies | Society gates and which side of the junction you are on |
Vanjar Patti Naka and the North
The north runs out towards Nashik Road and Wada Road, with the Kamwari river close by on the corporation's ward maps. Older settlements sit beside newer buildings, and changing school medium in a middle class is common here.
Vanjar Patti Naka: a busy junction on the Agra Road, with two-storey houses and newer apartment blocks around it. You will see it written as Vanjarpatti or Wanjarpatti, so use the spelling your neighbours use and add one shop or chowk. Requests here are often for Classes 6 to 8, when algebra and grammar start to build up; twice-weekly visits with one online class work well.
Avachit Pada: also spelt Avchit Pada, a long-settled residential part of the north near Nadi Naka and the road towards Wada. Grandparents often supervise homework while parents work. Children who move from Urdu or Marathi medium to English need a tutor who explains in the home language first and then uses the textbook word. Midday-session children manage an after-lunch slot.
Chavindra: the northern edge of the corporation area, where the old Chavindra Gaon is surrounded by newer buildings. Say whether you live in the gaon or a newer block, and name the nearest chowk. Fewer tutors live right next door, so for a Class 9 or 10 student add online hours to the home visits.
Gokul Nagar: a residential colony beside Vanjar Patti Naka, with small apartment buildings and family homes. Since the colony name is common in many cities, always add Bhiwandi and the nearest naka. For an SSC student, ask for a timed paper every fortnight, so revision is spread across the year.
Nagaon, Shanti Nagar and Kaneri
This is the closely built east and centre of the city. One ward map shows Shanti Nagar, Gaibi Nagar and Ashok Nagar side by side, so a tutor can often teach in two of them on the same evening. Because Kaneri is central, tutors from most directions can reach it.
Nagaon: along Nagaon Road towards Khandu Pada, with families living above shops and in compact buildings. Many older students take HSC Commerce, so say clearly whether your child needs accounts or science help, since the two are rarely the same tutor. Late-evening classes are common; fix a start time and keep it.
Shanti Nagar: a large residential area that spreads across more than one ward on the eastern side of the old town. Families are often large, so set aside a quiet corner with a table before the first class. Give the building, floor and a known shop. Two or three children in one home can each take a one-to-one slot, back to back, on one evening.
Gaibi Nagar: a settled colony of houses and small buildings next to Shanti Nagar and Ashok Nagar, not far from Kalyan Road. Urdu-medium schooling is common, and parents often want stronger spoken and written English. Weekend mornings suit a longer lesson, with a short weekday class for homework.
Ashok Nagar: apartment buildings and older homes on the eastern side, close to Kalyan Road. Here more children attend CBSE and ICSE schools alongside the State Board, so state the board first. Write "Ashok Nagar, Bhiwandi" with the nearest road, because the name exists in many cities. Evening slots go early in the term.
Kaneri: central Bhiwandi around Kalyan Naka on the Agra Road, near the municipal corporation's office, with older buildings and newer flats. HSC Science students here often prepare for MHT-CET, JEE Main or NEET at the same time, so ask which test a tutor has taught for. Early afternoon or late evening avoids the busiest hours on the main roads.
Dhamankar Naka and Temghar
South-central and south-east Bhiwandi take in the old Thane Road on the ward maps. Requests here range from primary reading and maths to board-year practice and entrance preparation.
Dhamankar Naka: a well-known junction whose name covers the lanes and buildings around it. Send the building, wing and floor along with the naka. Most requests are for Class 9 and the SSC year; a steady plan of one chapter at a time, a short test every two weeks and a monthly full paper works better than a late rush.
Padma Nagar: a residential locality beside Dhamankar Naka, and many addresses name both together. It has many apartment buildings and a range of home languages. Families with children in Classes 1 to 5 often book shorter lessons three times a week, focused on reading, handwriting and number facts.
Temghar: towards Kalyan Road in the south-east, with the older Temghar Pada and newer apartment buildings; some maps spell it Themghar. Senior students aiming at JEE Main or NEET often pair a home tutor for board subjects with online entrance classes. Send a map pin before the first visit, as newer buildings may not show on every map.
Kamatghar, Narpoli and Anjur Phata
The south-west is where the road from Thane enters Bhiwandi, and the railway runs past Anjur Phata. Housing societies stand beside older gaon lanes, and some parents here work in Thane or Mumbai, which makes a fixed evening slot useful.
Kamatghar: a large residential part built around the old Kamatghar Gaothan and Kamatghar Road, with many housing societies. Lots of families have young children, so requests often begin at Class 1 or 2. Tell the guard the tutor's name and timing before the demo, and give building and flat number with the request.
Narpoli: between Kamatghar and Anjur Phata, made up of Narpoli Gaon and newer colonies such as Ajmer Nagar. HSC Arts and Commerce students often want help with Marathi, English and social sciences as well as accounts. Lead the address with the gaon or colony name, then the lane and a nearby chowk.
Anjur Phata: the junction near Bhiwandi Road station, with homes on more than one road around it. Say which side of the junction you live on. Where both parents have long working days, plan classes around whoever gets home first, and use an online class on days when no adult is in.
Boards, mediums and entrance tests
Most children in Bhiwandi study on the Maharashtra State Board, in Marathi, Urdu, Hindi or English medium, and some attend CBSE or ICSE schools in the city. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education conducts the SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) examinations; its site, mahahsscboard.in, is the place for notices. MHT-CET is run by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, and JEE Main and NEET (UG) by the National Testing Agency.

Whatever the board, tell the tutor the medium your child writes exams in and the language spoken at home. A tutor who can bridge the two saves weeks of confusion, especially after a change of medium. Our note on home tutor qualifications lists what else to ask.
Home, online or both
A tutor at the table suits younger children and anyone who settles better with a person beside them. An online class suits a specialist who lives elsewhere in the Mumbai region, a late hour, or a senior student whose week is already full. An online tutor for Bhiwandi students can be added at any stage. For a fuller comparison, read home tutor or online tutor.
