Bhiwandi is a city of many home languages. Urdu, Hindi and Marathi are heard most, with Telugu, Gujarati and others alongside, and State Board schools teach in Marathi, Urdu, Hindi and English medium. For many children English is the one subject that arrives in a different language from everything else. Some study it as a first language, many as a second or third. Either way, the paper expects accurate reading answers, a properly laid-out letter and a literature answer with an opinion behind it. A good English tutor builds those skills patiently, and builds a child's nerve to speak as well. Tell NXTutors the board, the class and the languages at home, and we send two or three English tutors with their fees. The first lesson is a free demo.
The subject name is the same everywhere, but the papers are not. A tutor should know which one your child is aiming at before the first lesson:
This is the first thing to find out, and many parents in Bhiwandi are not sure. The State Board's SSC list has separate subjects for English as a first language and English as a second or third language, just as it has separate first-language subjects for Marathi, Hindi and Urdu. A child in an Urdu-medium or Marathi-medium school usually takes a different English subject from a child in an English-medium class, so the textbook, the expectations and the right tutor can all differ. Ask the school which English subject your child is entered for, and put that in your request.
This page leaves the board's English mark split to the board itself: its current scheme and sample papers sit on mahahsscboard.in, and a tutor worth hiring will work from them. Other SSC and HSC subjects are covered on our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Bhiwandi page.
Whatever the board, a few steady habits do most of the work, and they suit a two-lesson week well:
Half of the written paper, 40 marks, is literature from the two NCERT readers, First Flight and Footprints Without Feet, so literature should get the largest slice of each week. The reading section is worth 20 and uses two passages: a discursive one, and a factual, case-based one that comes with a chart or some data. Grammar brings 10. Writing brings another 10, made of a formal letter (5) and an analytical paragraph (5) that interprets a graph, chart or map. Inside the school's 20, listening and speaking account for 5.
Turned into a plan: mark two literature answers a week; time each reading attempt and ask the child to underline the sentence that proves each answer; and settle the letter and paragraph layouts in the first month, so later weeks are about content, not format.
In parts of Bhiwandi such as Avachit Pada, some children move from Urdu or Marathi medium into English around Class 5 or Class 8. The ideas they learnt are usually sound; it is the language that slows them down, and that can knock their confidence in every subject. A tutor who shares the child's home language can make the first weeks much gentler: new words are explained in Urdu, Hindi or Marathi, then used at once in a short English sentence, and small two-way translations show where tense and word order slip.
As the weeks pass, the home language should step back. Ready-made openings and linking words help letters and paragraphs, a notebook of new words grows with each chapter, and a few pages read aloud at home each evening build speed. By the end of a term, most of each lesson can be in English, and the home language returns only when a point truly will not land. Let us know the language your child finds easiest, and we will look for a tutor able to use it in the opening weeks.
For young children the aims are simple: read smoothly, write neatly, and look forward to a story. Exam skills belong to later years. Be alert if your child reads a word by guessing from its opening letter, loses the line, or finds reasons not to open a book. Several short lessons a week beat one long one. A good mix is sounding out unfamiliar words, reading a page aloud while the tutor corrects gently, and then telling the story back. Where little English is spoken at home, chatting in easy English about a picture is a soft start.
On the State Board, HSC English follows the board's current scheme; a student who has also chosen English Literature, subject 22, carries a second English subject and needs time for both. CBSE English Core in Class 11 puts 31 marks on literature, 26 on reading and 23 on grammar together with creative writing; the readers are Hornbill and Snapshots, giving way to Flamingo and Vistas in Class 12.
ISC English has two papers. The language paper asks for a composition of 400 to 450 words, picked from six titles, along with directed writing and a proposal; literature is examined on its own. For IGCSE, check whether the school enters your child at first-language or second-language level, and for IB Language A, plan steady practice on unseen texts and the oral. Few Bhiwandi tutors teach ISC, IGCSE or IB English, so these students often learn online; the national English home tutor page goes deeper on each course.
Yes, and speaking feeds writing. Both CBSE and CISCE award internal marks for listening and speaking, and a child who can explain a story aloud tends to write about it more clearly. Close each lesson with a sixty-second retelling, then progress to short prepared talks and, in time, questions the child has not seen coming. Many parents who look at tuition classes in Bhiwandi want exactly this kind of speaking time, which a crowded group rarely allows. If the real goal is confidence for interviews or college presentations, mention it in your request, as that calls for a slightly different tutor.
A tutor who lives nearby is the easiest to keep on a fixed weekly slot. Our Bhiwandi page covers every locality.
In Avachit Pada, mention any change of medium and which language your child reads most easily; children on a midday school session often manage a lesson soon after lunch. In Gokul Nagar, where Hindi and Marathi are common at home, write "Gokul Nagar, Bhiwandi" with the nearest naka, and in the SSC year ask for one timed writing task every fortnight.
Gaibi Nagar parents often ask for help with spoken and written English, not only marks; a longer weekend-morning lesson plus a short weekday one for homework suits many homes there. Shanti Nagar families with two or three children can book back-to-back one-to-one slots on the same evening. In Nagaon, late-evening lessons are common, so agree a fixed start time. In Ashok Nagar, where CBSE and ICSE students live beside State Board ones, give the board first and write "Ashok Nagar, Bhiwandi" with Kalyan Road.
The Nagaon, Shanti Nagar and Kaneri and Vanjar Patti Naka and the North zone pages hold more tips, and the Bhiwandi home tuition guide walks through the whole city.
Once a child is in about Class 3, English can be taught well over video, provided the tutor sees the written work before the lesson, through photographs of the notebook or a shared document. Going online also brings ISC, IGCSE and IB specialists within reach. Visits at home count for more with early readers, with a child getting used to a new medium, and with speaking. Our online tutors for Bhiwandi page explains the set-up.
During the free demo, look for five signs. The tutor asks to see a corrected school answer first. Your child loosens up, and more and more of the talk happens in English. Your child does most of the writing or speaking. The tutor can explain how your child's paper is built. And the lesson ends with homework and a plan for the next few weeks. Still unsure? Another tutor from the shortlist can give a demo, and switching later is free. The demo class checklist lists more points.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each English tutor sets their own rate. Ask which board's paper they have taught most, whether they will mark writing sent between lessons, and how many lessons a week they would suggest. All fees appear before the demo, and the Bhiwandi home tuition fees guide adds other questions.
Tell us the class and board, and at SSC which English subject the school has entered; what worries you most, whether reading, writing, grammar, literature or speaking; which languages the family speaks and which medium the school uses; where you live, with a landmark; and when lessons could happen. A shortlist of two or three English tutors follows, each with a fee. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Bhiwandi's maths and science pages cover other subjects, and families nearer the metro can compare English tutors in Mumbai.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Bhiwandi English tutor sets their own rate. Ask which board they teach most, whether they mark writing sent between lessons, and how many lessons a week they suggest.
Share the class, the board and, at SSC, which English subject your child takes. Add the main concern, the languages at home and school, your locality with a landmark and free hours. NXTutors sends two or three English tutors with fees. The first lesson is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Yes, the State Board's SSC list has English as a first language (subject 03) and as a second or third language (subject 17). Children in Urdu-medium or Marathi-medium schools in Bhiwandi often take a different English subject from English-medium pupils, so ask the school which one applies before choosing a tutor.
Yes, English Literature is a separate optional HSC subject, code 22, apart from English, which is subject 01 among the languages. A Bhiwandi student who chooses English Literature carries two English subjects in Standards XI and XII, so the tutor should plan time for both and work from the board's current scheme.
Literature carries the most, 40 of the 80 written marks, from First Flight and Footprints Without Feet. Reading is worth 20, grammar 10, and writing 10, split between a formal letter and an analytical paragraph. Of the 20 internal marks, 5 are for listening and speaking, so weekly literature answers deserve the most tuition time.
A tutor can explain new words in Urdu, Hindi or Marathi first, then use each one in a short English sentence. Small two-way translations show where tense and word order slip. As the term goes on, the home language steps back, until most of each lesson runs in English and confidence returns.
Four steady weekly habits raise English marks on any board. Back every reading answer with a line from the passage, learn each letter or report format once and reuse it, plan literature answers as short points first, and drill grammar from the child's own mistakes. Regular timed practice then turns these habits into marks.
Yes, a home tutor can build spoken English alongside written work, and the two support each other. CBSE and CISCE give internal marks for speaking and listening. Ending each lesson with a one-minute retelling, then moving to short talks and unplanned questions, builds confidence that a crowded group class rarely allows.
Gaibi Nagar parents often want help with spoken and written English, not just marks, since many children study other subjects in Urdu. A longer weekend-morning lesson with a short weekday one for homework suits many homes there. In the demo, ask the tutor to hold a short English conversation and correct gently.
Online English usually works from about Class 3, if the tutor sees notebook photos or a shared file before each lesson. Home visits matter more for beginning readers, children adjusting to a new medium and speaking practice. Online lessons also bring ISC, IGCSE and IB English specialists within reach of Bhiwandi families.
