Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Most Bhiwandi children sit the Maharashtra State Board's SSC at the end of Standard X and its HSC at the end of Standard XII, and the city's state-board schools teach in Marathi, Urdu, Hindi and English medium. That mix shapes what families need from a tutor. Parents comparing tuition classes in Bhiwandi with a tutor at home usually think first about maths and science, yet the language papers carry real marks too, and Hindi and Urdu each have their own evaluation scheme on the board's website. This page reads those schemes for you, walks through the SSC and HSC lists code by code, shows how the HSC sits beside the entrance tests, and covers how tutors reach different parts of the city. Every board fact here comes from mahahsscboard.in; check it there before you plan.
Maharashtra's State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education conducts two public examinations: the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) for Standard X and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) for Standard XII, the latter in Science, Commerce and Arts. Its website, mahahsscboard.in, lists every subject with a code and links to the evaluation schemes that describe how each paper is built. Those schemes, rather than guide books or coaching notes, are what a good tutor plans from. They are revised from time to time, and the board keeps the right to change a paper's format, so always look at the current version.
The SSC list on the board's site is grouped. The core academic papers are Mathematics (71), Science & Technology (72) and Social Sciences (73). The language section is long: first-language papers, second or third language papers, and composite papers that pair two languages in one subject. There are also pre-vocational subjects and grade subjects such as Health & Physical Education.
| Paper | Code | What a tutor usually works on |
|---|---|---|
| Mathematics | 71 | Algebra and geometry working, laid out step by step |
| Science & Technology | 72 | Reasons, diagrams and numericals in the textbook's own terms |
| Social Sciences | 73 | Answer length, map work and timing |
| Language papers | 01–36 and composite codes | Grammar, applied writing and the internal oral and assignments |
Subject pages for Bhiwandi cover maths, science and English in more depth. This page spends its time on the papers those pages do not: Hindi and Urdu.
At the 2011 census the city's main languages were Urdu, Hindi and Marathi, followed by Telugu, Gujarati and others. The board's SSC list has first-language papers in each of these, including Marathi (01), Hindi (02), English (03), Urdu (04), Gujarati (05) and Telugu (08). Second or third language papers include Marathi (16), English (17) and Urdu (18). Then come the composite papers, where two languages share one subject, among them Marathi-Hindi (AB), Marathi-Urdu (AC), Hindi-Urdu (BC), Hindi-Telugu (BN), Urdu-Arabic (CG) and Urdu-Persian (CH).
Two children in the same building can therefore sit quite different language papers. Before you ask for a tutor, find the exact papers and codes from the school, and tell us the medium as well. A Hindi tutor for a Hindi-medium first-language student and a Hindi tutor for an Urdu-medium student taking the Hindi-Urdu composite are doing different jobs.
The board's revised evaluation scheme for Hindi (first language), written for Standards IX and X with the Kumarbharati textbook, describes an 80-mark written paper with three hours allowed. It is built as an activity sheet in five sections.
| Section | Content | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Prose: two seen passages of about 120 to 140 words, with comprehension and expression tasks | 20 |
| 2 | Poetry | 12 |
| 3 | Supplementary reading | 8 |
| 4 | Language study (grammar) | 14 |
| 5 | Applied writing | 26 |
The writing section is where a tutor earns the fee. The scheme lists a letter, formal or informal, chosen from two (5 marks); an unseen passage of about 100 to 120 words for which the student frames four questions (4); a report or a story of 70 to 80 words (5); an advertisement of 50 to 60 words (5); and an essay of 80 to 100 words on one of three topics (7). Each of these has a shape that can be practised, and word limits that reward planning. A student who speaks Hindi fluently at home can still lose most of these marks by writing loosely, so practise every format against the limit, not just "write more Hindi".
A composite subject joins two languages, and each half has its own 40-mark scheme. The board's revised schemes for the Hindi half (textbook Lokvani) and the Urdu half (Baagh-e-Urdu) are both written for Standards IX and X, with two hours allowed for each.
| Section | Hindi composite (Lokvani) | Urdu composite (Baagh-e-Urdu) |
|---|---|---|
| Prose | 12 | 10 |
| Poetry | 8 | 10 |
| Grammar | 8 | 8 |
| Applied writing | 12 | 12 |
| Total | 40 | 40 |
Two points follow. First, applied writing is the largest single block in both halves, so it deserves regular practice rather than a last-month rush. Second, the halves are not equally familiar to every child. An Urdu-medium student may be at ease with Baagh-e-Urdu and much less sure in Lokvani, or the other way round for a Hindi-medium student. A tutor should test both halves in the first session and spend the time where the marks are leaking, not where the child is already comfortable.
The Hindi scheme also explains the internal marks for Hindi as a first or second language: 20 in each term beside the 80-mark written paper. Ten come from two self-study assignments of 5 marks each, based on the textbook's prose, poetry, grammar and writing sections and written on foolscap paper certified by the school. The other ten come from an oral test: listening (5) and speaking (5). Speaking options include giving views on a topic set in advance and speaking eight to ten sentences about a lesson or poem from the textbook, covering its title, author, form, a short gist and favourite lines with a reason.
These are easy marks to secure with a little preparation. A tutor can rehearse the speaking task aloud, help the student choose and plan the assignments early in the term, and make sure the work is the student's own. Ask the school how it runs the internal assessment for the other language papers your child takes.
| Session | Focus | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Maths (71), twice a week | One chapter's exercises, then mixed problems | Steady practice beats a final-term rush |
| Science (72), once or twice | Reasons, diagrams and numericals | Answers in the textbook's own terms |
| Language, once a week | One applied-writing format plus a grammar set | The largest block in every language scheme |
| Every second week | A timed section from the activity sheet | Builds speed against the word limits |
| Before each term's oral | Speaking task rehearsed aloud | Ten internal marks secured in advance |
After SSC the subject list changes. In the HSC list, languages carry fresh codes, including English (01), Marathi (02), Hindi (04), Urdu (05) and Telugu (10). Mathematics comes in two versions, Mathematics & Statistics for Arts and Science (40) and Maths & Statistics for Commerce (88), so tell the tutor which one your child sits. Science students take Physics (54), Chemistry (55) and, for the medical route, Biology (56). Commerce students will find Economics (49), Book Keeping & Accountancy (50) and Organisation of Commerce & Management (51).
The step from SSC to HSC is often hardest for a student who also changes the language of study, for example from Urdu or Hindi medium to English-language science textbooks. A glossary kept from the first week, with explanations in the home language and answers always in the paper's language, softens that change. Our physics, chemistry and biology pages for Bhiwandi go subject by subject.
Science students usually prepare for an entrance test while studying for the HSC. MHT-CET, the state's test for professional courses, is run by the State Common Entrance Test Cell with PCM and PCB groups; JEE Main and NEET (UG) are conducted by the National Testing Agency. The chapters overlap, but the HSC wants full written answers while the entrance papers want speed. A tutor should keep one written HSC answer in every session. See JEE and NEET home tutors in Bhiwandi, and the MHT-CET tutor page for the Mumbai region. Check every pattern and date on cetcell.mahacet.org and nta.ac.in.
| Locality | What families often ask for | Address tip |
|---|---|---|
| Dhamankar Naka | The SSC year and the year before it, with a test every two weeks | Building, wing and floor with the naka name |
| Padma Nagar | Primary reading and maths, in homes with many different first languages | Often written with Dhamankar Naka; add the building |
| Narpoli | HSC Arts and Commerce, with Marathi and English language papers | Gaon or colony name, lane and a nearby chowk |
| Kaneri | HSC Science beside an entrance test | Building, lane and a landmark near Kalyan Naka |
| Temghar | A home tutor for board subjects, online lessons for entrance work | A map pin; also spelt Themghar |
| Kamatghar | One tutor for maths and science from Standard VI | Society, building and flat; tell the guard the tutor's name |
Tutors who live in the same zone are likelier to keep a slot all year. The Dhamankar Naka and Temghar zone page, the Bhiwandi home tutors page and our Bhiwandi home tuition guide add more. For a language specialist who lives further away, online tuition in Bhiwandi works well, because language practice suits a screen. State Board tutor pages for Mumbai and Pune look at other parts of the board's work.
For maths and science in Standards VIII to X, a tutor at the table is usually worth the travel, because so much of the marking depends on each written step and each labelled diagram. Language papers are different. Grammar sets, letter and essay drafts and the speaking task for the oral all work well on a video call, and a strong Urdu or Hindi teacher may live in another part of the city or in another city altogether. Many Bhiwandi families settle on a mix: a nearby tutor at home for the core subjects, and one online session a week for the language that needs it. Whatever you choose, ask for marked work to be photographed or shared after every online session, so the record stays in one place.
If the first tutor is not right, we arrange another demo, and switching later is free. The demo class checklist has more ideas.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, which you see before the demo. Read the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Bhiwandi.
Send the standard, the medium, the subjects with their codes if you have them, your locality with a landmark and the free hours. Neither is better for every child; it depends on how much individual attention the student needs. A group class suits a child who keeps pace, while a home tutor suits one who needs every maths step watched or help with a language paper. NXTutors arranges one-to-one tutors only.
The board's revised scheme for Hindi first language (Kumarbharati) sets an 80-mark written paper over three hours: prose 20, poetry 12, supplementary reading 8, grammar 14 and applied writing 26. Applied writing includes a letter, a report or story, an advertisement and an essay, each with word limits.
The Urdu composite paper is one 40-mark half of a two-language subject, using the Baagh-e-Urdu textbook. The board's revised scheme for Standards IX and X gives two hours, with prose 10, poetry 10, grammar 8 and applied writing skills 12. Check the current scheme on mahahsscboard.in.
The SSC list includes composite pairs that match languages heard in Bhiwandi homes, such as Hindi-Urdu (BC), Marathi-Urdu (AC), Marathi-Hindi (AB), Hindi-Telugu (BN), Urdu-Arabic (CG) and Urdu-Persian (CH). Find your child's exact papers and codes from the school before asking for a tutor.
The 20 internal marks in SSC Hindi come from two self-study assignments of 5 marks each and an oral test of 10, split between listening and speaking. Speaking tasks include views on a set topic or eight to ten sentences on a textbook lesson or poem. A tutor can rehearse these early.
It depends on the stream: Mathematics and Statistics (40) is for Arts and Science students, and Maths and Statistics (88) is for Commerce. Both appear on the board's HSC subject list. Tell the tutor which one your child sits, because the content and emphasis are not the same.
Yes, many students make the switch, though the first term of Standard XI is the hardest. A glossary kept from the first week, explanations in the home language and every answer written in the paper's language help most. Tell us the SSC medium so we match a tutor who can explain comfortably.
For Dhamankar Naka, give the building, wing and floor with the naka name, because the name covers a wide area. In Narpoli, give the gaon or colony name first, then the lane and a nearby chowk. Tutors from the same zone are likelier to keep a weekly slot all year.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
