Not sure which tutor fits? Tell us the class, board and your sector: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.
| Classes a week | Classes a month | At ₹800 an hour | At ₹2,500 an hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 8 | ₹6,400 a month | ₹20,000 a month |
| 3 | 12 | ₹9,600 a month | ₹30,000 a month |
In a coaching batch, one teacher's hour is shared by many students, so each family pays for a part of it. At home the whole hour is your child's: the pace, the questions and the homework check follow one student, and the tutor's travel to your home is part of the working day. A small group of two or three children from the same society usually costs less per child, with less individual attention.

Jalgaon is the district headquarters of a stretch of North Maharashtra that people still call Khandesh, and the city is easiest to picture as a set of neighbourhoods arranged around its railway junction. The old peths, Navi Peth, Baliram Peth and Jilha Peth, hold the centre, with Shivaji Nagar reached over the Shivaji Nagar bridge. Ramanand Nagar and its neighbouring colonies spread along Ring Road. Pimprala and Khote Nagar fill the western side, where the Girna flows through the city. Mahabal Road carries the southern colonies, and Mehrun, Tambapura and the old industrial area sit around Mehrun Lake to the south-east. Many children here hear Khandeshi or Ahirani at home and study in Marathi, semi-English or English medium at school. So two questions shape any tuition plan in Jalgaon: which tutor lives close enough to come every week, and which language and board must that tutor teach in?
Start with one message that answers the obvious questions: which class, which board and which medium; the subjects your child dreads; your colony and the chowk or shop nearest it; the weekday hours left after school and any outside class; and whether lessons should be in the house, on a screen or both. Add a rough monthly budget if you have one. In return you get two or three matched tutors, each with a fee you can read before meeting anyone, and the first lesson with your chosen tutor is a free demo. Four Jalgaon details shape that shortlist:
Use the demo as a normal lesson on this week's chapter rather than an interview. If it does not click, say so and another name from the shortlist steps in; moving to a new tutor months later costs nothing either.
Jalgaon shortlists come from the tutor profiles listed with us, and 20 Jalgaon localities have a page of their own. On every such page the order never changes: tutors who live there, tutors who already teach there, the wider zone, Jalgaon as a whole, and finally online tutors. For home visits we think in five zones, starting in the middle of the city: Navi Peth and the Old Peths, Ramanand Nagar and Ring Road, Pimprala and Khote Nagar, Mahabal and Yashwant Nagar and Mehrun and Tambapura. We drew these groups for tutor travel; they do not follow the municipal corporation's wards.
Navi Peth is among the older trading quarters of Jalgaon, where many households keep a shop, a workshop or an office a few lanes from home. Baliram Peth sits right beside it, often in homes shared by three generations, and Jilha Peth joins the old lanes to Tagore Nagar, Ramanand Nagar and the Ring Road side. Shivaji Nagar lies on the other side of the tracks and is linked to the centre by the Shivaji Nagar bridge, which runs just east of Jalgaon Junction railway station. Older family houses, homes above shops and newer apartment blocks all stand within this one zone.
The peths are packed close together, so a tutor living in one can often teach in two or three of them on the same evening, which gives central families a wide choice. What trips up a newcomer is the last few lanes, so name the chowk nearest you, the lane, and a shop or building beside your gate, then send a map pin. Families who run a business usually want a slot after closing time; ask for a firm end time as well, so a younger child still gets to bed early. In Shivaji Nagar, mention that you are across the line and whether the tutor should use the bridge.
Ramanand Nagar is one of the larger suburbs of Jalgaon and is really a cluster of smaller colonies, so the colony name matters as much as the suburb. Ganesh Colony sits close to it and to Shiv Colony, Tagore Nagar lies between Ramanand Nagar, Jilha Peth and Baliram Peth, and Vidyut Colony is a residential pocket near Ramanand Nagar and Ring Road. Ring Road itself is a main route through central Jalgaon and the easiest reference point for anyone giving directions here.
Homes are mostly family houses and apartment buildings on quieter inner lanes, and many children in this band are in Classes 7 to 10, the years when algebra arrives and science splits into three subjects. Because the colonies touch one another and sit close to the peths, the pool of nearby tutors is wide. Where both parents work, agree at the start who will be at home and ask the tutor for a short message after each lesson. Sharing a recent unit test paper in the first week helps the tutor spot the mistakes that keep coming back.
Pimprala is a large suburb on the western side of the city, with an older core and newer colonies spreading around it; the Pimprala flyover lies west of the railway station. Khote Nagar is further out, near Dadawadi and the road towards Bambhori and Avhane. Dadawadi sits between Pimprala, Khote Nagar and Shiv Colony, and Shiv Colony connects this side with Ganesh Colony and Ramanand Nagar. The Girna river flows through the western part of Jalgaon, which is why families on this side often describe their homes by the road or the colony rather than by a central landmark.
The colonies here are spread out, and fewer tutors may live inside each one than in the centre. A home tutor for the subject that needs a person at the table, plus an online class for another subject, is a common and sensible plan. In Pimprala, write your colony and send a pin instead of the suburb name alone, since one end is a fair ride from the other. Many households here have two or three children in school at once; one tutor teaching siblings back to back saves a second trip, as long as the children's classes are close in level.
Mahabal is a residential part of southern Jalgaon along Mahabal Road, and Adarsh Nagar lies close by, near Ganapati Nagar and Tambapura. Yashwant Nagar sits among Mahabal, Wagh Nagar, Samata Nagar and Ramanand Nagar, and Samata Nagar lies towards Mohadi Road, which takes its name from Mohadi, a village mapped south of the city. These colonies sit close together, so a tutor living in one can usually reach the others without trouble.
Children in this zone attend State Board, CBSE and ICSE schools, so the board and the medium belong in the first line of any request. Many younger children here need steady help with reading, tables and English, while senior students may already be juggling junior college with classes for an entrance test. If your child attends such classes, share the timetable and the weekly test day with the tutor so the two never clash. For a child in Class 4, 5 or 6, three shorter lessons a week usually work better than one long daily session.
Mehrun takes its name from Mehrun Lake, a natural lake with parks around it, and the lake is the reference point almost everyone uses for directions on this side. Tambapura lies near Mehrun, Adarsh Nagar and Ayodhya Nagar, Kanchan Nagar is a residential area close to Mehrun, and Ayodhya Nagar sits beside the older industrial area. Jalgaon Airport lies further to the south-east.
Homes range from older family houses to newer colonies. Some parents here work shifts or start early, so a tutor who can teach on weekend mornings as well as weekday evenings is often the easiest fit; agree a backup slot for the weeks when a shift changes. Tell the tutor which side of the lake you live on and the lane you turn into, and in Ayodhya Nagar, which side of the industrial area. A short written note in the child's notebook after each class lets whoever is at home see what was covered.
Many Jalgaon children study on the Maharashtra State Board, in Marathi, semi-English or English medium, and others follow CBSE or the CISCE papers; a few take an international programme. We check the board and the medium before suggesting anyone, because the same chapter is taught and examined differently in each.
| Board | What it involves | Worth asking the tutor |
|---|---|---|
| Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) | Two public exams: the SSC after Class 10, then the HSC after Class 12 in a Science, Commerce or Arts stream. | Which edition of the state textbook do you teach from, in which medium, and how do you train answers the way the board marks them? |
| CBSE | NCERT textbooks form the base, with sample papers and marking schemes released for the board classes. | Will you work from the NCERT chapter first and keep guide books for later? |
| CISCE: ICSE at Class 10, ISC at Class 12 | Many subjects examined through long written answers, English that includes prescribed literature texts, and specimen question papers on cisce.org. | How will you pace the year so that literature texts and projects are not left to the end? |
| IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE | IB pairs internal coursework with final exams; IGCSE revision runs on past papers, mark schemes and command words. | What kind of feedback do you give on coursework, given that every word of it has to be my child's? |
Semi-English deserves a word. In these State Board classes, Maths and Science are often taught in English while other subjects stay in Marathi, so a tutor must know which terms your child already knows in which language before explaining anything new. For State Board notices, timetables and patterns, rely on mahahsscboard.in rather than a forwarded message; exams are organised through divisional boards, so confirm on that same site which office deals with your child's school. Our pages for Maharashtra Board tutors in Jalgaon, CBSE home tutors in Jalgaon and ICSE home tutors in Jalgaon go into each board in more detail, and IB or IGCSE families usually reach the right specialist online.
Early on, a tutor's real work is fluent reading, quick tables and homework that gets finished without a battle. Where a child speaks Khandeshi or Ahirani at home and meets standard Marathi and English only in books, a few minutes of reading aloud in each language every session makes written answers cleaner later. Short sessions, three days a week, suits most children of this age.
A gap left open in Class 6 becomes a wall by Class 9, and by then a State Board student is a year away from the SSC. The tutor who helps most begins below the current chapter, with a handful of older questions, and climbs back up from wherever the child slips. For the board year itself, our NCERT-based Class 10 Maths plan and Class 10 Science notes explain the core ideas for students on any board.
A good SSC result does not stop the first HSC chapters in Physics, Maths or Accountancy from feeling steep, because junior college moves much faster. Steady help in the first months of Class 11 is far easier than a rescue in Class 12. Two of our posts suit this stage: ways to approach Class 12 Physics and a Class 12 calculus and algebra guide.
Requests lean towards Maths and Science from Class 6 onwards, yet tutors listed with us cover far more: English, Marathi and Hindi, Social Science, Computer Science, and HSC Commerce papers like Accountancy and Economics. For a primary child, a single tutor can usually look after the whole timetable. The core subjects each have a Jalgaon page: maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English.
How do you spot a capable subject tutor? A Maths tutor traces a wrong answer back to the line where it went wrong, even if that line rests on an old chapter. A Physics tutor gets the student talking through the situation before any symbol goes on paper. A Chemistry tutor keeps calculations, reactions and facts all ticking along each week, the approach our guide to Class 12 Organic and Inorganic Chemistry follows. English is often the subject Jalgaon parents raise first, and they usually mean confidence, not just grammar: reading aloud, speaking up and writing a tidy paragraph. Short stories and a weekly letter build that, and our spoken English guide offers practice between lessons.
Many families begin by searching for coaching classes in Jalgaon, and for some children a group class is the right answer. It helps to be clear about what each option does, because they solve different problems. A coaching or tuition class teaches a batch at a fixed pace from a set timetable. That suits a confident student who keeps up, likes working beside others and needs a structured syllabus with regular tests. A one-to-one tutor, at home or online, works at the pace of one child: the lesson can stop at the exact step where your child gets lost and go back to a Class 7 idea if that is the real gap.
Be clear about what NXTutors is. We do not run batches or a classroom of our own; we match your child with one tutor who teaches one-to-one, in your home or online. If you have been comparing tuition classes in Jalgaon, the useful test is the same either way: ask what happens when your child does not understand something, and how you will hear about progress. With NXTutors you can judge that in the free demo, with each tutor's fee in front of you first, and changing tutor later is free.
For a Science student in Jalgaon, the HSC rarely stands alone. MHT-CET, the state's entrance test for professional courses, is run by the State Common Entrance Test Cell and has a PCM group and a PCB group. The National Testing Agency conducts JEE Main and NEET (UG), and JEE Main is also the route to JEE Advanced for those who qualify. The chapters overlap, but the question styles do not, so tell the tutor which test is the goal. A personal tutor is most useful with a defined role, for example:
Patterns and dates belong to the official sites alone: cetcell.mahacet.org for MHT-CET, nta.ac.in for JEE Main and NEET (UG), and jeeadv.ac.in for JEE Advanced, since the details can shift from one year's bulletin to the next. Read on with JEE tutors in Jalgaon, NEET tutors in Jalgaon, our chapter-wise plans for Maths, Physics and Chemistry for JEE, and NEET Biology starting from NCERT.
It depends on the child and the subject. Sitting at the same table works well for young children, for anyone who loses focus on a screen, and wherever you want each step written by hand. A screen lets you pick from tutors all over India, useful for IB, IGCSE, a rarer HSC or ISC elective, or hard problem solving. In Jalgaon, weigh these:
Plenty of families settle on a few visits a week and a brief video session before tests, with one tutor handling both. Compare the options on online tuition in Jalgaon and in our home versus online tutoring post.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
Tutors choose their own fee, not NXTutors, and every shortlisted fee is visible to you ahead of the demo. Numbers on their own say little, so put the same questions to each tutor:
Spend on the subject that hurts most before anything else; a strong tutor for that one subject tends to achieve more than thin cover across many. We keep the shortlist inside the budget you name. See the pricing guide for fees by class and subject, and our post on home tuition fees in Jalgaon for the city view.
A profile gets a tutor onto your shortlist, but the demo is where you learn whether they can teach your child. Stay close enough to hear, or talk it over with your child later, using these questions:
Sort out the practical side early. Share the lane, a landmark and a map pin before the first visit, and hold lessons in a common room while an adult is in the house. Put the simple terms in a message: lessons a week, their length, missed classes and how progress will be reported. Our demo class checklist for parents and guide to choosing a board and stream help further, including with the HSC stream decision after Class 10.
There is no wrong month, though the tutor's job changes with the season:
The State Board, CBSE and CISCE do not share one calendar, so go by your own board's schedule. An early start gives the most room; a late one still helps, with more weight on past papers and timing.
Send us the class, board, medium and subjects, your colony and a landmark, and the free hours in your child's week. Read through the two or three tutors who come back, with their fees, and pick one for the free demo. Make your decision once that lesson is over. If you would rather look first, open your locality from the list on this page, see the tutor profiles, or go ahead and book a free demo class. If no home tutor lives near enough yet, an online tutor can begin at once.
Our Jalgaon home tuition guide takes each of the five zones in turn, from Navi Peth and Shivaji Nagar in the centre out to Khote Nagar in the west and Ayodhya Nagar by the industrial area.
In other parts of Maharashtra we cover Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), Nagpur, Amravati, Solapur, Kolhapur and Nanded, and the cities page lists the rest.
If you teach and live in Jalgaon, tuition jobs in Jalgaon shows the localities where parents are looking for a tutor.
Tutors set their own fees, by class, subject and experience. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. You see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Neither is better for every child; they do different jobs. A coaching class teaches a batch at a fixed pace, which suits a student who is already keeping up. A one-to-one tutor at home or online works at your child's pace and goes back to the exact step that was missed. Many families use both, with the tutor clearing doubts and school work.
No. NXTutors does not run batches or a classroom of its own. We match your child with one tutor who teaches one-to-one, at your home in Jalgaon or online. You get two or three matched tutors, see each fee before the free demo class, and switching tutor later is free.
Tutors currently cover 20 areas of Jalgaon, including Adarsh Nagar, Ayodhya Nagar, Baliram Peth, Dadawadi, Ganesh Colony. Each area page lists the tutors nearest to it.
CBSE, ICSE and ISC, IB and IGCSE for Classes 6 to 12, plus JEE and NEET preparation, at home or online.
Yes. The first session is a free demo class, so you can judge the tutor's teaching style before deciding. If the fit is not right, we suggest another tutor.
