Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

A Class 6 science book in Jalgaon reads almost like a story of small experiments. By Class 10 the same subject has split into physics, chemistry and biology, and every chapter brings fresh vocabulary and a diagram to master. A Jalgaon child meets that change through one of three very different papers: activity sheets on the State Board, a single long paper in CBSE, or three separate papers in ICSE. Home language and school language often differ, too. The right tutor works from your child's own book and explains in a language your child is comfortable with. Share your board and colony, and NXTutors puts two or three suitable science tutors in front of you, fees included, before anyone visits; the opening class with your pick is a free demo.
Aaditya Kashyap wrote the CBSE and ICSE sections of this page; the State Board material comes from the board's published scheme. The three papers reward different habits, so a tutor should know from the first day which one your child faces.
| Board | How science is examined | Habit to train |
|---|---|---|
| Maharashtra State Board (SSC) | Science and Technology in two papers of 40 marks, answered on activity sheets, plus 20 internal | Reading a situation or figure fully before writing |
| CBSE | One board paper of 80 marks; the school gives 20 | Exact NCERT answers sized to the marks |
| ICSE (CISCE) | Physics, Chemistry and Biology as three separate papers, each with internal marks | Precise definitions and fully worked numericals |
Until the board year, a single teacher for physics, chemistry and biology together tends to work better than three, since one person sees the whole picture: a numerical gone wrong may be weak arithmetic rather than weak science. How matching works is set out on our national science home tutor page.
The Maharashtra State Board conducts the SSC at Standard X. In its scheme for Standards IX and X, Science and Technology (code 72) is examined through two papers of 40 marks each, and both are answered as activity sheets. An activity sheet rarely asks a child simply to repeat a paragraph. It may give a short situation, a diagram or an observation and then ask what it shows. Three habits make the difference:
Practise from the board's textbooks and the sample question papers on mahahsscboard.in, and confirm the current scheme there before planning. For the board's remaining subjects, visit our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Jalgaon page.
CBSE examines 80 marks on the board paper, and the school awards the other 20 in four parts of 5 each. For 2026-27, two units dominate: Chemical Substances, Nature and Behaviour, and World of Living, at 25 marks apiece. Effects of Current brings 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5. Half the paper therefore rests on chemistry and biology, so equations and labelled diagrams need weekly attention.
CBSE also describes the paper by skill: 50% for remembering and understanding, 30% for applying, 20% for analysing and evaluating. That last fifth is where students who only memorise answers lose ground. Chapter-wise help is in our CBSE Class 10 science notes, and planning the board year is covered on the Class 10 science tutor page.
| How many | Marks each | Practice tip |
|---|---|---|
| 20 (multiple-choice and assertion–reason) | 1 | Short daily sets from the NCERT text, with the reason for each answer said aloud |
| 6 | 2 | Two clean points, nothing extra |
| 7 | 3 | Three separate points, or a labelled sketch with two |
| 3 case- or source-based | 4 | Read the passage or data twice before touching the questions |
| 3 | 5 | A diagram or equation first, then numbered points |
For 2026-27, CBSE keeps three topics off the board paper and leaves them to school assessment: how species evolve, how elements came to be arranged in the periodic table, and electromagnetic induction along with the motor and generator. Class 11 needs them again, so they still deserve proper teaching, just not board revision hours. A list of 14 experiments in the curriculum feeds board questions too, so a well-kept practical file doubles as revision notes. An optional second sitting can improve up to three subjects; its schedule is on cbse.gov.in, and our board-year planner maps the months.
Class 9 in CBSE now runs on Exploration, the newer NCERT science text, for 2026-27. The split of 80 exam marks and 20 internal is unchanged, yet the units have been rearranged, with 27 marks on matter, 25 on the living world, 23 on motion, force, work and sound, and 5 on Earth as a system. A sibling's notes from the earlier book run in another sequence, so lessons should follow the current text. See the Class 9 science tutor page for this jump year.
An ICSE student writes physics, chemistry and biology as three papers set by CISCE, and internal marks are attached to each. The council fixes the syllabus while schools pick the books, so tuition should follow the school's textbooks along with the specimen papers published on cisce.org. Examiners reward word-perfect definitions and numericals shown step by step with units. ICSE-experienced tutors are fewer in Jalgaon than State Board ones; say ICSE at the very start, and be open to an online tutor.
Good habits are cheap to build in the middle years and costly to undo later. A tutor for these classes should favour four things over long notes:
Lessons for younger students usually fall in the early evening, so a fixed weekly time and clear directions keep them regular. Tutors for every locality are on our Jalgaon page.
| Colony | Setting | Address tip | Agree first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Baliram Peth | A central peth beside Navi Peth and Jilha Peth; many homes shared by three generations | The lane, the colour of the building and a shop everyone knows | One quiet hour and one corner with good light |
| Shivaji Nagar | Across the railway line from the old peths, joined by the Shivaji Nagar bridge | Which side of the line you are on, plus a map pin | A start time after your child has eaten and rested |
| Ganesh Colony | Close to Ramanand Nagar, Shiv Colony and Ring Road | Lane, a nearby shop or clinic and your gate's colour | One fixed weekday slot for the whole school year |
| Tagore Nagar | Between Jilha Peth, Baliram Peth and Ramanand Nagar | The nearest chowk and the shop on the corner | How the tutor will report progress each week |
| Ramanand Nagar | A large suburb of many smaller colonies | The colony inside Ramanand Nagar and the main road | Which earlier topic the tutor will revisit first |
| Khote Nagar | The western edge, near Pimprala, Dadawadi and the Bambhori road | Pimprala side or Bambhori side | A camera angle that shows the notebook, if one lesson is online |
The Navi Peth and the Old Peths and Ramanand Nagar and Ring Road zone pages have further local tips, and the Jalgaon home tuition guide goes through the whole city.
Many children in Jalgaon speak Khandeshi or Ahirani at home and meet standard Marathi and English mainly in their books. A child in a semi-English class may also learn some terms in English and others in Marathi. Let the tutor explain in whatever language works, then insist on the textbook term in writing. By Class 10, these drawing and writing skills should be automatic:
Use the free demo as a test of this. Request a lesson on this week's school chapter, and see whether the tutor corrects a label or an arrow without being asked. Our demo class checklist suggests other signs. A poor fit simply means a demo with the next shortlisted tutor, and a later switch costs nothing.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees. With a middle-school child, find out how many weeks the tutor would keep for revision before school exams, and whether one online session could take the place of a visit when the family is busy. The shortlist shows every fee ahead of the demo; the Jalgaon home tuition fees guide adds further questions.
Tell us the class, the board, which branch of science is the trouble, the language of school and of home, your colony and a nearby landmark, and when your child is free. Two or three science tutors are suggested with their fees, and one of them gives a free demo. Where no suitable tutor can come at your time, a fully or partly online arrangement is the alternative, explained under online tutors for Jalgaon. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Senior students can turn to the Jalgaon pages for physics, chemistry and biology. Families elsewhere in Maharashtra can look at science tutors in Nashik or the Aurangabad page.
Science teachers who live in Jalgaon and want pupils near home can find current requests on the Jalgaon tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Jalgaon science tutors set their own fees, and each one is shown on the shortlist before the demo. Ask how many weeks would go on revision before school exams.
Tell us the class, the board, which branch of science is hardest, the school and home languages, your colony with a landmark and the free afternoons. NXTutors suggests two or three science tutors with their fees, and the first class with the one you pick is a free demo. If nobody can reach you, a part-online plan is offered.
SSC Science and Technology is examined through two papers of 40 marks each, both answered as activity sheets, plus 20 internal marks. The internal marks come from school experiments, the journal and projects. A Jalgaon student should practise reading each activity fully, marking what is given and asked, and answering in the textbook's own terms.
Yes, a home tutor can read each journal entry, ask why the experiment works and check that diagrams are labelled, while the experiments themselves stay in school. Projects must remain the child's own work. A Jalgaon student who writes up the journal in the same week as the experiment avoids a stressful pile of entries before the exam.
Chemical Substances and World of Living deserve the most revision because each carries 25 of the 80 board marks in 2026-27. Effects of Current is worth 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5. So a Jalgaon CBSE student should practise balanced equations and labelled biology diagrams every week, with circuits and ray diagrams close behind.
For 2026-27, evolution, the periodic classification of elements, and electromagnetic induction with the motor and generator are assessed only in school, not on the board paper. Jalgaon students should still learn them properly because Class 11 builds on them. Board revision time, though, is better spent on the chapters that the 80-mark paper actually tests.
An ICSE Class 10 student in Jalgaon writes physics, chemistry and biology as three separate CISCE papers, each with internal marks. Schools choose textbooks within the council syllabus, so a tutor should teach from those books and the specimen papers on cisce.org. ICSE-experienced tutors are fewer locally, so mention the board early and consider online lessons.
In Classes 6 to 8, a Jalgaon child should learn to state each idea in one exact sentence and end every numerical answer with its unit. Small, neat pencil sketches with straight label lines matter more than decorated drawings. Asking why about everyday things each week builds the curiosity that later activity sheets and board papers reward.
A tutor should explain in whichever language the child understands, including Marathi or Khandeshi, and then insist on the textbook term in every written answer. Children in semi-English classes may meet some terms in English and others in Marathi. A two-language word list, revised weekly, helps a Jalgaon child keep both sets straight.
In Baliram Peth, many homes are shared by three generations, so agree one quiet hour and a well-lit corner before the tutor arrives. In Shivaji Nagar, tell the tutor which side of the railway line you live on and send a map pin. In both, start lessons after your child has eaten and rested.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
